JakeyJokes April 25, 2016 Share April 25, 2016 (edited) Anyway. I have no idea of why Dorinda was a fan favorite last season. I know she was popular with some celebrities who watch the show. Gaga comes to mind. And now, Erika Jane is a favorite. I just don't get it. Dorinda has always been a sloppy drunk. It's not flattering. I don't like body shaming. Beth and Carole went there. Beth is healthy and pure muscle but is obsessed with it. Carole is fine. She looks great in a bikini. She's just really, really, small boned. This was revealed when she was measured for a bra. You can't reduce the size of your bones and her measurement was tiny, tiny. She's got meat on her. You can see it in her legs. I don't know what to make of Jules. She did say that skinny is a positive thing. That's a little disturbing. I agree completely, at the very beginning she seemed like a "voice of reason" kind of character, but during Turks & Caicos and the whole aftermath where she had beef with Heather seemingly for no reason turned me right off her. I remember at the reunion, Heather said something critical of her (probably about John or her drinking) and Dorinda blew up at her. Then Bethenny said the exact same thing using slightly different words, and Dorinda was nodding and agreeing. So much major ass kissing. Just like in this episode when she decided that Ramona had fucked up monumentally, but Bethenny was just coming from a place of concern. I'm no Ramona apologist but I'm inclined to believe it was the other way round. I remember that in last season, our first scene of Dorinda was her warmly and kindly listening to Ramona pour her heart out about the situation with Mario -- just after Ramona tried to talk to ADHD Sonja, who would have no deep conversation and wanted to talk about herself and all SHE had going on (which was not an imminent divorce). Dorinda also had the London episode that humanized her a little bit. As for the blogs this week, Bethenny's is disappointingly short, but this week Carole really goes in on Jules for the age-shaming. On Jules' comment that these women could be her mother, well: I suppose I could have been a teen mom. My mom had me when she was eighteen. I would have been 17 when I gave birth to Jules. I could have made that work, sure. Thing is, Jules couldn’t be my daughter. I would never have raised a daughter who made dumb sexist jokes about women. The same misogynistic crap we hear every day from men. The same misogynistic crap we hear from John in this very episode, first to Bethenny’s face, and then behind Ramona’s back. And menopause, last I checked, is a medical condition that affects two billion women in the world. Some women experience severe and debilitating side-effects. Is it okay to make light of a medical condition but not a mental health condition? In my opinion, neither is good. GIRL. Edited April 25, 2016 by JakeyJokes 4 Link to comment
RedheadZombie April 25, 2016 Share April 25, 2016 Kids are unpredictable, but it's also fairly obvious (at least to me) that in addition to the disruption of cameras, Jules' own behavior is throwing the kids off. She's trying to make loving tv family moments and you can tell the kids don't understand what she's doing. You can tell she doesn't give them baths -- dumping water on a shampooed head, forcing the soap down their faces? But it was important to her to have that "moment" of her being the loving, involved mom caught on camera. Maybe they never eat at the table, or the kids eat with the nanny earlier, but suddenly mommy announces we're having meatballs and broccoli. And chicken soup. Because she's a loving mom who prepares family dinners! Here, little girl -- apropos of nothing, I'll just hand you a lipstick and let you have at it! Yeah, it was pretty obvious that Jules was upending their usual schedule. From the bath in the morning, replete with almost drowning the little girl. But I also noted how the little girl acted when dad and brother left. She thought she should go with them and had a fit when left with mom. I bet normal morning routine is for dad to drop off daughter, but Jules thought she needed to be seen walking her to school. Jules' son is old enough to realize his mother is full of shit, and is taking obvious advantage while they're on camera. Her daughter is simply confused, so she predictably has a melt down. And I'm not letting Jules' husband off the hook, either. He looks just as stupid doing impromptu religious ceremonies on camera with kool-aid. 5 Link to comment

HelloOutThere April 25, 2016 Share April 25, 2016 (edited) As for the blogs this week, Bethenny's is disappointingly short, but this week Carole really goes in on Jules for the age-shaming. Thanks for posting the blog excerpt. But please, Carole, spare us. I've always thought that Carole is secretly much more superficial and shallow than she likes to present. I think she likes all the botox / fillers / veneers / hair color / being skinny stuff even though she pretends she's above it all. And I think she is legit jealous of Jules, who is younger, prettier, and skinnier. And married. And rich. And I'm not one to throw around the "jealous" card often. I think she's jealous of Jules for those superficial reasons, but would never admit it, so she takes the low-hanging fruit and picks on Jules for being a dim bulb, bad mom, airhead, etc. - all of which is true. But girl's jealous. Edited April 25, 2016 by HelloOutThere 8 Link to comment

HelloOutThere April 26, 2016 Share April 26, 2016 (edited) i agree with everything but holy hell, I find Jules extremely harsh and not at all attractive. She looks every bit as old as the women she calls elderly. Agree, Sasha. To expand on what I said, I think Carole really, REALLY values being skinny, although she would deny it until the day she dies. I think she equates skinny with beauty. Being skinny is her "thing," and icing on the cake - she seems naturally slender so it's not even hard for her! Enter Jules, who is even skinnier than her, and on top of it Jules is very open with how much she values being skinny. So I think Carole's jealous. (Yeah, Bethenny is skinny too, but she's also psycho in other ways and doesn't place the same value on it that Jules - and secretly Carole! - do, despite her Skinny Girl business.) I've never seen Carole act the way she did as when she was first introduced to Jules by Ramona, who was innocently carrying on about Jules being even skinnier than Carole. ("Wow....she is skinnier than me.....") I don't think Ramona meant anything by it, but that statement was probably a huge insult and threat to Carole. Then watching them try on clothes was watching the two of them size each other up. Carole pretended to be horrified but she got beat at the skinny game. it was weird and kind of gross. Sorry if I seem obsessive about this, but I'm a guy who's very into the fitness scene in LA (pray for me) and it's EXTREMELY competitive out here. I compare the Carole / Jules weight thing to when a guy is used to being the "buff" or "ripped" one in his circle and in walks someone who trumps him at his "thing." It derails people and leaves them almost gobsmacked, and that's exactly how I thought Carole looked in her initial interactions with Jules. The whole bra fitting thing just made it an even more perfect setting for something like this to go down. My opinion only, of course. I might just be projecting my own issues onto Carole, who I've always disliked and found extremely disingenuous. ;-) ETA: I bet Carole will lose more weight by next season if she's back. Trooper York April 26, 2016 Share April 26, 2016 Hey I am a fat bastard who hates skinny shaming. I think there many other reasons to despise Carole. Don't limit yourself. The way she latched on to Bethenny and dumped Heather for one. She is a transparent phony and just a horrible person. But I hear she is great friends with Satan Andy just like Bethenny so they probably belong to the same coven or something. 5 Link to comment
sasha206 April 26, 2016 Share April 26, 2016 LOL.. Jules really called Bethenny and Dorinda "The Elderly". That was funny but how old is Jules? She's not that far off from Bethenny's age.. I think she looks much older than the women she calls Elderly. She looks like an old woman with a very bad facelift. 1 Link to comment
swankie April 26, 2016 Share April 26, 2016 I didn't take it that way at all. I thought Bethenny expected Dorinda to break up with John because she all but said that she was. She called him an embarrassment about 50 times and repeatedly said, "You're done". She told B she didn't want him at her place when she got home. I would guess THAT'S why Bethenny thought she'd end things with him. The thing is, Bethenny knew Dorinda was three sheets to the wind when she said all of that. You can't hold anyone to something they say when they're drunk. I think Bethenny was trying to sway Dorinda in that direction because she feels she can. Bethenny has a very high opinion of her influence on people. She thinks she runs the show in every relationship she has. She can really be annoying in that respect to me. 3 Link to comment
sasha206 April 26, 2016 Share April 26, 2016 I don't find Bethenny to be either stick thin or skinny, as folks seem to like to say of her. We see her in a bikini often enough that it's plain that she's nothing more or less than super fit. She doesn't look like she's starving or wasting away; she doesn't have bones protruding more than they should be; her skin and hair look healthy, and she's full of energy. She's a small person, and she doesn't have an extra ounce of fat she doesn't need, but there's nothing about her that suggests an eating disorder. Carol, too, is in pretty much the same shape she's been in for all of her adult life, with nothing to suggest she's anything other than naturally (luckily) slender and quite fit. Jules, on the other hand... I agree completely. I think Bethenny's body is incredible -- she's thin, but she's in great shape. Jules, yikes. Carole's not skinnier. Neither is Bethenny. Carole looks pretty damn amazing in that photo. So does Beth! Link to comment
archer1267 April 26, 2016 Share April 26, 2016 So why weren't Sonja & Lu at the bra party? I think they both woulda been a hoot there. Maybe evil Bethenny didn't want either of those 2 distracting from her nasty bullshit? I'm wondering if Lu & Sonja have been banished from Bethenny's universe because they weren't following her orders or (for some reason) fell out of favor with her Highness. Bethenny liked Sonja until Sonja tried to come out with a cocktail line called TipsyGirl. I assume that's why she hasn't been involved in B-centric activities. As for Luann, she either doesn't want to be around her nemesis' bestie, or hasn't been included. Ramona will go wherever the cameras are, even if her longtime sidekick isn't being included. I do wonder how that dynamic is going to play out, though, if those two are exiled to their own Grey Gardens storyline. Link to comment

neatoburrito April 26, 2016 Share April 26, 2016 I agree with the posters who said Carole is jealous. And while I also agree with her sentiments in her blog, I feel like it's a bit rich coming from her. She's extremely superficial, she's always taking pot shots at the other ladies (in her THs and on Twitter of course, because she'd never dare say shit to anyone's face). And what's with her air of superiority this season? You signed up for it Carole, you're not better than any of these ladies. 2 Link to comment

I don't understand women who make the age cracks about other women, as if they will never find themselves above the age of 50. They act as if being younger is some kind of accomplishment. I think it's funny that all of them are so youth obsessed that calling each other menopausal is an insult. Though menopause can be brutal, it's a luxury that many women across the globe don't get to experience. There are many places on this planet where women never get to experience menopause because they've died from preventable and treatable diseases, they've died giving birth, they live in places where violence against women is normal and expected. So FU to any housewife who acts like getting older is something bad or a pejorative. It's not like that housewife would opt to die at 25 rather than getting older. 7 Link to comment

Gaily April 27, 2016 Share April 27, 2016 Thank you for stating that being in menopause should not be an insult -- it is a natural part of life for women. And Jules, aging is the great equalizer. Someday you are going to be in menopause too and remind me not to laugh when you experience insomnia, hot flashes and discomfort. That being said, I don't mind Jules overall and feel like she is getting a bit hazed by the RHNY sisterhood. Apparently, her husband owned a company that distributed porn films (he eventually sold it) and that is where most of their money came from before he became a venture capitalist. Heck, I don't care but wonder if this will come out at all at the Reunions. It will be interesting to see part 2 of the Battle Royale between SkinnyGirl and AngryCow. They will milk this feud for all its worth. 2 Link to comment
NewDigs April 29, 2016 Share April 29, 2016 I thought that Jules was maybe addressing the "skinny" comments when she mentioned her regular periods. They are sometimes not regular or not happening at all in women who over-exercise and/or underweight/anorexic. Link to comment

If a ED woman becomes thin enough they stop producing estrogen and go through menopause. So that is technically thinspo or a benchmark to an Ana she truly has little to no body fat. Link to comment

topgams May 4, 2016 Share May 4, 2016 John has a legitimate business, so why on earth would he let himself be seen on camera totally coked up? Because that was what was happening, make no mistake, and Bethenny recognised it instantly (although I'm sure she already knew ahead of time that that's what he's into.) No wonder Dorinda was mortified. 4 Link to comment
glowlights May 4, 2016 Share May 4, 2016 So it's not okay to comment on age, but it's okay for Carole to call John "sweaty and misshapen". Not only say it, but say it at a party he is attending. Age is off limits, medical conditions are off limits, mental conditions are off limits, but mocking someone's appearance is fine. Unless it's the appearance of her unlined face because that's off limits, too. Wow. 8 Link to comment

FozzyBear June 30, 2017 Share June 30, 2017 Carol is so oddly thin skinned. I get not liking Luanne and being offended by the stuff she said about Carol's boyfriend (I don't know about the twitter stuff so I can't stay), but she is so deeply bothered by the stuff Luanne says, while simultaneously calling Luanne a slut at every turn. It's weird to me that she always wants to be in a corner talking shit at any party, but takes such personal offense at things said to her. 2 Link to comment
