S06.E21: Reunion Part 1

The more I think about Ken's comment about Yo looking really sick, not just bad for not wearing makeup, the more I can see that it was in response to some conversations going on among LVP and the women as to whether Yo was really sick or not.  Not that she had lyme and something else. But whether she was sick or not.  The way he said it gives me the impression that there had been discussions, and Rinna's comments about "there goes the storyline" would mesh.  Ken's words seemed to be confirming that Yo was sick, kind of stating the obvious to us the viewer as if we would be doubting it (and it was one of the first episodes, so why would we?).  Makes me think the women at the table were doubting it way before the birthday dinner.

Whether LVP said "There goes the storyline" out loud at all or in a whisper to Rinna, I don't know.

Yolanda said at last year's Reunion and the Reunion before there are people, even her own family members that doubt she is sick.  So essentially Yolanda planted the seed.

Sorry, sarcasm doesn't come across here very well for me. I try to use LOL when I am unsure but was asked not to do it because it was confusing and or aggressive to some here so I stopped. I am sorry I misunderstood your post.

As for the song, Erika said on WWHL that she had nothing to do with writing the song and that it had nothing to do with the HW show. I guess I am taking her word for it.

For the love of all things holy, when will someone invent Sarcastifont?

Sarcastica?

Times New Ironic?

It would solve about a thousand internet misunderstandings per day.

I imagine it's easier to live with someone who has Lyme disease or any other illness but is treating it through actual medical professionals rather than traveling to places with sketchy treatments and one who has a former escort being a caregiver to her on the payroll. That type of kookiness, particulary since I'd be willing to bet she's always been one of these people that buys into those "cleansing your toxins" stuff, in addition to her constant worship of him would drive anyone over the edge.

I think that most people with Lyme disease in addition to having something like clinical depression would rather believe, and have others believe that all the symptoms and feelings of ill health is stemming from Lyme rather than a type of mental illness. There's no public stigma attached to someone suffering with Lyme disease but unfortunately there is with a mental illness. Maybe Yolanda was in denial. She said she suffered from clinical depression in 1999 after a back injury. She quickly tried to dispel any thoughts to the others that her depression returned. People believe that there's only one kind of depression but that's not so. There's several different types of depression and even though treated and apparently recovered from clinical depression, it does return in many cases. Clinical depression is a major depression and there are triggers that can cause a relapse.

I never got the impression she thinks it's original or provocative.  I get the impression that she's surprised at the reactions she sometimes gets -- the pearl clutching over her act.  I've always thought her comments are defensive of her hobby -- like, every woman has this other side in her, I'm just lucky enough I can act it out and have fun with it.

Just for the sake of argument?

Her hobby is akin to the Yolanda Hadid-Foster Tour of the Medical World - Sponsored by David Foster.

My wife puts up with my 'hobbies' - but I pay for them and would never ask her to finance them - it's what I enjoy and they belong to me. Yo and Erica Yane were lucky, lucky to find men that would allow them to explore the planet?

ETA, not that they needed any permission to do it - they found a spouse that was accommodating in that respect.

I'm sure Erika pays in many other more unpleasant ways.  :)  And I'm guessing her husband wouldn't be as thrilled to pay Erika for the Yolanda Hadid medical trips whereas he might love seeing his wife's sex kitten act and paying for that.

But just for the sake of argument, Yolanda had her own money from the settlement with Mohammed right?  So maybe David didn't exactly have to pay for them?

For me and my hubby, we've got joint accounts, so it would be a case of cofunding hobbies.  Since we aren't multi-millionaires, I'm sure I'd have a problem if my husband had hobbies that were extremely expensive that were really vanity projects.  I'm sure he'd feel the same way with me so we'd certainly have to discuss it and come to agreement first.

It appears that Erika's husband has money to burn so perhaps he doesn't mind enjoying in his wife's indulgences.

Aha!

But you sound like the rest of us people on the site? We don't have that disposable income and we probably don't spend time in our second or third homes, take trips to Bora Bora, China or ??? in our private Lear?? I think we are more grounded in the idea that the money in our lives is more important to us because we sweat and bleed for it? Playing a piano and having clerks do your leg work isn't exactly the hard work that most of us do to get ahead?

I am not knocking their line of work, just making a comparison as to how they make their money and how the rest of us do it.

Obviously the blog writing suggestion went out the window. Read a few of LVP's latest.   Kathryn can voice away but I am not buying she found Faye's final comment dismissive and needed to reinvent the horse.  I think Kathryn found it popular to be on the Faye hate train until she did something that caused a backlash and she shut down her twitter account.

What I saw from Kyle and Kathryn was a disconnect.  Kyle was trying to get across she did not know any of the players until after the murders and she knew Faye in a different way and Kathryn was saying she didn't know Faye either but felt there was an impact in her marriage.  I found it kind of interesting because Kathryn prides herself in arguing a point until the other sides concedes.  It did not work for her with Kyle.

I do think as the season plays out and the HWs each see the THs of the other HWs, hurt/anger/frustrations/confusion/whatever emotions not only come back up but are also intensified. Eileen made a TH dig at Lisa over the dog march, Lisa did as well in her TH and Eileen went nuts in her blog, it can be a vicious cycle. Seeing each other talk smack behind the others back is eye opening to all of them, newbies more so. Kathryn was asked a question by Andy and Kyle took offense because she is friends with Faye IRL but forgets that Faye has done things that have impacted others, both good and bad, that have nothing to do with her. She just needed to let Kathryn have her say without interrupting her, it would have been over faster.

William H Macy can play the part of David Foster in the Lifetime Movie - based on Yolanda Hadid's "My Juhrney, Widda Lyme and Back Again".

Who plays Yo?

Judi Dench is more appropriate to play David.

Well, the question that she responded too was basically that she was too old to be parading around like she's still fuckable.

Her music career isn't really aimed at straight men. All of her "in your face" sexual stuff in the videos and performances, it's not done to arouse anyone, I think it's mostly to be outrageous.

Good grief, this forum has gotten as frustrating to read as the show is to watch. Same stuff over and over and over again. I am begging you Bravo, give the viewer something new in Reunion Part Two!

I totally agree and I am part of the problem!  But I have an excuse.  I have a ruptured disc and not too mobile.  I would send you a selfie but I am not on instagram.    ***big cheesy grin***

And for Pete's sake, what is it with Yolanda and her ass?  Weekly colonics, foot long parasites, and now butt pellets?

Yolanda is a one-upper who likes to be tops at everything, so it figures that she would be the best at being full of shit.

I don't think that LVP saying anything about the morally corrupt Faye would influence any viewers who lived thru the OJ trial. She is just a despicable individual,IMO.

To go old school, WORD. I think it's insulting the audience's intelligence to suggest that viewer opinion of a cast member is totally influenced by whatever LVP says and feels. Lisa is my fave for sure; she makes, and knows what makes, for good tv - it's as simple as that for me. However, she could crawl right up Faye's ass and declare it made of pink glitter and rosé, and my feelings about Faye and her depravity wouldn't change a bit. (And, the same with Kyle, in that I don't like/dislike her any more depending on the status of her and LVP's friendship.)

The key word is fuckable  - then forgettable. Her voice and general personality aren't attractive at all. She's pretty and in good shape for a 40 year old, but too much work for a long term investment.

My husband said the same thing. lol

Now I'm curious if Andy or anyone is going to go in on Erika, the guard dogs role in assisting Yo in taking on LVP? I noticed when they played back the scene at Wally's of LVP asking WoYo if she was okay and Yo was weepy, this was yet another instance of her not responding in any way to Lisa. Keeping her at arms length. Yo said it was because she was aware that LVP was questioning her and was sensitive about her at that time. I wonder why she was aware?

It was obvious at that point that WoYo and Erika were not receptive to LVP at all in this first reunion show from their words and their body language. It was a freeze. Yo said, "no, I was emotional about you...when I looked at you in that moment...I was like, I really want to believe you not having talked about my children..."

This scene highlighted this wall in my mind. Brandi has plenty of time for Yolanda when Eddie has the kids!

Is Erika going to admit she was feeding Yo her negative version as opposed to relaying to WoYo how the conversations went word for word, including all that was said about the kids having Lyme without her personal assessment of what she thinks happened? Remember, Erika never owned up to being the informant. She wants LVP exposed but Erika doesn't seem concerned about anyone else role in the subject.

David just might be good with that selection since she has been bestowed the noble title of 'Dame' by the Queen of England and she's not just any old dame.

It's true and that's why we're forced at times to digress into posting silly gifs and emojis just to give some comic relief to it all.

I am still unclear about Erika's seemingly intense hatred for Lisa V though. It's like she went in with an agenda, but whose was it? Hers?Yolanda's? I'm baffled by it.

It's as if she were hired to defend Yo when Brandi & Kim were let go...

:)

Then, we see Yolanda perfectly capable of jumping on Kyle all by herself...no assistance from Erika necessary.

This comment in no way is intended to support Kyle in her defense of Faye to Kathryn, for me.

I suspect had Yolanda's friend, Cody Simpson's mom worked out, Erika may have been a long time acquaintance of Eileen's or LVP's or Kyle's.  I think Erika was dug up by production and they scrambled to make a connection which is why Erika came unglued when both LVP and Kathryn asked on camera how long she had known Yolanda. She cited a conspiracy?   I bet if under oath, the connection between David and Don Rickles is they shook hands once at a charity event or Don Rickles tried to hire David to form her career.  Erika actually corrected Yolanda on WWHL, when asked how long they knew each other.   Erika is not going to let another Yolanda lie blow up this lie.

Does anyone believe ailing Yolanda had Erika and her husband over to dinner between last year's Reunion and when filming commenced?  SIck Yolanda who had not been out of her robe? Not buying it.  This craps always ends up biting them in the butt because there comes a falling out.  See Brandi and Adrienne, and then the numerous stories Brandi ended up telling.

I think Erika is just doing her job being Yo's friend and doesn't have enough information to really help her.  Being mad along with her is of no help.

The question was asked of Erika I believe, so of course Yolanda answered and said, "ten years."  Erika corrected her with, "nine years."  because Yo and David weren't an item 10 years ago.    Good thinking on Erika's part.

Raising my hand-not only did I notice I put it over on First Looks.  What Rinna did is claim from the first group shoot of the season, Harry Hamlin stated "whether Yolanda is sick or not," that was huge as a storyline.  All the other women have said they believe Yolanda to be sick.  All of a sudden Rinnarrhea of the Mouth, claims she through her husband doubted Yolanda's illness.

I don't blame Harry for clearing it up as I don't think he wants to hurt Yolanda's feelings unlike say his stupid wife.  Harry was pretty playful last year about "wht did Harry do?"  When Rinna recanted her "strapping on a dildo story" he didn't involve himself.  I think it had more to do with not hurting someone.

so Harry started the Munchausen speculation (without knowing the official name)? lol

When Yo said she was clinically depressed after breaking her back (still not buying it), would that be more acceptable to her than saying she has Postpartum Depression?      Besides being bedridden for a year with her broken back (photo's to the contrary), she knew Mohamed was cheating on her.   She seems to pull these all consuming illnesses when she sees a relationship falling apart.

I still think if she had come clean, said yeah, I have Lyme, but my marriage is falling apart, the audience would have been more sympathetic - and so would the other women.   Nope, she needs to be a warrior on her journey - and it seems like she found all the sympathy, and attention she needed from Daisy - who she paid.

Why Erika hates Lisa:

She was brought on the show to be Yo's friend.  Yo hates Lisa.

Erika likes to be the focus.  Thus Erika Jane is born.  She's certainly not Tom's focus.  She does like Tom's professional friends focusing on her.  It doesn't matter if it's sexual or disdain.  In her mind, it's all about her being hot.  I think Tom gets off on this....except when he has to put her in her place.  When Lisa is around, Lisa is the queen and the focus of the show.  Lisa owns the 'pink'.   Erika, as well as Yo, hate this - it supposed to be them.

And yet, Kyle said her depression was "completely debilitating for 2 years" after her mom died.  The emphasis on completely was Kyle's.

Yet, for those 2 years, I can find many pictures of her at Paris' various product launches, fund raisers, the MTV Movie Awards, filming 'ER' and 'The Simple Life'.  She even managed to get out and get her hair cut during that completely debilitating time.  (Looks good, btw)

For someone completely debilitated, she sure got around a lot.

kyle_richards_2003_04_12.jpg

Clinical Depression more often referred to as Major Depressive Disorder has symptoms on a continuum.  They aren't all the same or last the same amounts of time.  I've been living with MDD for years the original and and subsequent episodes have all been brought on by some type of loss.  Many people can still do things and look very normal but on the inside and at home, it's a totally different story.

Yes, at first Yo did say IIRC, say she got Lyme from kissing a cow when she was a child.  But then that didn't work out so she said she got some other disease/virus from the cow.  I think then she said she got Lyme on the ranch from a horsefly.  Of course she claimed that bites from a horsefly, when she and the children lived on the ranch, was nothing that bothered 'her' because she is a warrior and such pain doesn't affect her.  Horseflies do carry Lyme but there are no studies that prove they can transmit Lyme to humans.  Did she live on the ranch in 2012 because that's when she said she and the non Gigi's contracted Lyme.  Wasn't she and David married in 2011?  Where was she and David living?  God, it's so hard to keep her 'journey' straight....

I lost my damn mind and watched this reunion last night. Having not seen the past few seasons, so viewing this whole mess with fresh eyes, it seemed sweet to me when Jemma Jamison oops I mean Erika Jayne was put on the spot to demonstrate pussy-patting (wtf?!?!?) and Lisa Rinna jumped up to say "come on, let's all do it with her". It came across to me like she was trying to show some comaraderie and support, as in "let's not leave Erika out to dry". Until another housewife made the catty remark about letting Erika have her moment and Lisa sat down looking embarrassed. Maybe if I'd watched the whole season I'd have a different opinion, but to me Lisa seemed to be making a nice gesture. No good ho'deed goes unpunished.

I can't remember much else of the reunion because I was too busy being shocked at Kyle's terrible makeup/wardrobe.

I think that if you had seen the whole season, you would have a different opinion.  Erika was most definitely not "put on the spot".  That's her trademark move, and she likes nothing better than being the center of attention and promoting her act.  I'm sure that no one there felt that Erika had been put out to dry.  As for Lisar, she wanted to be a part of it.  It had nothing to do with being kind to Erika, who was perfectly fine - in fact more than fine - having center stage all to herself.

I am not a fan of Erika at all, and I hate the whole "pat the puss" nonsense.  But it was appropriate for Erika to have her moment and wrong of Lisar to intrude.

When Rinna was running her mouth, I can't remember whether it was in a talking head or on the yacht in Dubai, she said, "Yolanda and Vanderpump hate each other."  I wonder if there will be a follow up to see if either Yolanda or Vanderpump specifically told Rinna they hated the other.  Since Rinna is slowly having to eat her words, I think this would have been an appropriate question.

It's not meant to be insulting, but I completely stand by it. Not that she can "totally influence" a viewers opinion, but she can certainly influence people who love her to a large degree.

An example IMO would be S3. I believe that had LVP reacted differently to the surrogacy reveal, the audience would have reacted differently to it as well. Had she been disgusted by what Brandi did, told her she was a disgusting soul sucking person who was wrong to do what she did, that there was no excuse for it, and ended their relationship, people would have looked at the situation differently. Had LVP gone to Adrienne and told her she was heartbroken for her, that she had been wronged and had every right to feel however she wanted to feel, and that LVP understood and supported her, many people would have done the same thing. It's not like we needed for LVP to tell us it was wrong, horrendous, deplorable behavior. We all knew that it was. Everyone knew that it was wrong the entire time.

Or what if LVP had sat on the reunion stage that year and said that it was horrible that a fraud was perpetrated on the audience that year in the form of a fake lawsuit? What if she would have pointed out that it must have been terrible for Adrienne to read in blog posts and on social media that she was the horrible person for filing a lawsuit that she never filed. That Brandi was wrong for lying about something so serious and that she should be ashamed. That Brandi was actually the one in the wrong in this whole matter. Again, we didn't need for LVP to tell us any of this. We all knew it. The thing is that when you know something to be true already, but feel a certain way about it because someone else feels a certain way about it, that person is an influencer. That is what LVP is to many people. She can literally help to decide how folks view and feel about certain things by stating her own opinion on them. Not to all people all of the time, but to many much of the time.
