DasFlavorPup April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 (edited) Rooting for Thorgy, but that elimination was not undeserved - at least, assuming Thorgy should have been in the bottom two in the first place. I personally would have put Kim Chi down there with Chi Chi. Shame, as Thorgy was probably the best competition for Bob, who I'm fairly certain now is going to walk away with the whole thing, easy. RobertBestBarbie April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 Oh, I knew it! I knew my adorable Thorgy wasn't going to win, but I really hoped she'd last longer than she did! At this point, it feels like an inevitable Bob the Drag Queen coronation, and I'm a touch bored. She's very, very good, but if you eliminate all her competition early on, the show isn't much fun... 5 Link to comment
Stardancer Supreme April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 Thorgy was getting a bit too bitter. But she did deserve to sashay away. She had pages of shade and used none of it for the campaign video! Bob and Derrick used their mutual animosity to win and it was Awesome! (Although Derrick eating babies will probably one of my nightmares tonight. Yikes!) 8 Link to comment
Rai April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 *GASP* How the hell is Thorgy not going to be one of the final three? Classy exit interview, but COME ON. That said, I think ChiChi is also top three material, so it was going to be shocking no matter what, but again, COME ON. If ever there was a case to keep both queens, tonight was it. Gonna miss that queen so hard. 7 Link to comment
Haberdasher April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 I missed a few parts of the episode. Did Naomi say that her runway outfit was inspired by Raven's from the last runway of season 2, or was that an incredible coincidence? Really sad to see Thorgy go, although Chi Chi definitely dominated that lip sync. There's no one left at this point that I really want to see go though, so the rest of the season is going to be a bit hard to watch. 3 Link to comment
KenyaJ April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 *weeps* Speaking of weeping, Bob checking his watch during Derrick’s tearful runway soliloquy made me die laughing. In fact, the entire show made me dies laughing. I really, really loved the shady political ads. All of them. I agreed with the judges that Thorgy and Chi Chi’s were the weakest, but it’s a sign of this season’s strength that I still thought their ads were hilarious. And I’ve been really hard on Derek these past few weeks, but his ad was great. I was really happy that he and Bob worked well together and turned their “rivalry” into something beneficial for both of them. I’ve loved Naomi since the beginning, but she’s really stepped her game up since Michelle called her out, and I’m so here for it. Shoutout to my favorite Andrew Christian model, Cory Zwierzynski. Loved seeing him on tonight’s show (he was the one whose favorite singer was Britney). He was the cover model for a novel my best friend wrote last year and we got to meet him in October. He was so kind, sweet, and gorgeous in person that he made a fan for life and I was so excited to see him on my favorite show. As soon as “And I am Telling You” started playing, I couldn’t believe it had never been used before for a LSFYL. How is that possible? In any event, Chi Chi completely slaughtered it. You could tell, because the camera wouldn’t leave her. She deserved to stay after that, but losing Thorgy broke my heart. I’m praying there’s an opportunity for her to come back in the next couple of weeks. And if so, I hope she will focus on herself and not be so wrapped up in her rivalry with Bob or be so insulted about Chi Chi not using all the time in last week’s challenge. I think she psyched herself out a bit by focusing so much on some of the other queens, to her detriment. I missed a few parts of the episode. Did Naomi say that her runway outfit was inspired by Raven's from the last runway of season 2, or was that an incredible coincidence? Yeah, she said it was a tribute to Raven. They actually showed Raven on the runway in the same outfit during Naomi's voiceover. 4 Link to comment
Rai April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 I do want to say that Naomi might be the sweetest model girl ever to compete. Tatianna was ganged up on, but she was pretty shady, the Heathers, Jade Jolie, Gia Gunn, etc. Naomi is fiercer than many of the previous fishy gals gone by, and a better performer, and not a jerk. Cosmic Muffin April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 (edited) I knew as soon as they showed Thorgy saying that Chi Chi or Derrick that Thorgy would be the next to go, although I was sorry to see her go. I think it's cool that they honored Detox's sepia look. Naomi was sweet to Kim Chi when KC got choked up on the runway. Actually, they were all pretty decent to each other. I was glad to see Derrick throw herself into eating that baby. I was a bit surprised that they all did so well protraying their negative campaigns. Like Michelle said, no one was horrible. This is a really talented cast. I wonder what happens next week that makes Bob cry? I'm really looking forward to Untucked. Edited April 21, 2016 by Cosmic Muffin 3 Link to comment

Loki April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 That lip sync! That LIP SYNC! I could not take my eyes off Chi Chi and I am a Thorgy fan. I swear by the end my mouth was open and I was waving my arm in the air while various cats looked at me askance. I was so, so hoping both could stay. Losing Thorgy hurt; I'd truly had her pegged for top three. SteveAC10 April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 This one was heartbreaking, but correct. Thorgy can't get outside his head, knows he's stuck in his head, and still doesn't escape it. DearEvette April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 That runway was SICK! Bob stepped it up huge. Kim Chi -- I am bowing down to her artistry. Holy cow. Loved Naomi's homage to Raven. And Chi Chi looked so glam! But even better? That Lip Sync! Damn, Chi Chi that is gonna jet up the best of LSFYL lists. There was a point when the camera stayed on Chi Chi for an extended period like even the cameraman couldn't look away. And then the pearls broke... it was epic. That is a great song for the LSFYL! I feel bad for Thorgy but she tanked all over. Her ad was bad, I think she had the worst look on the runway...it wasn't terrible but for that runway where the bar was so high her look was the least good. And her look worked against her in the LSFYL. And then she did a cartwheel. Oh that is as bad as Robbie taking off her wig. Not the song for a cartwheel! Sad to see her go, but she deserved it tonight. Finally I loved Vivica's repeated shout outs to Boomerang! Strangé! i agree with Michelle, strong group. 6 Link to comment

Nerdlove April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 (edited) Also, apparently Andrew Christian underwear is like a wonderbra for your junk. (I hear -- I'm female.)Tom and Lorenzo point out that this isn't really a reality competition show, it's a variety show. RuPaul is the only judge and chooses his winner based on his own logic, not rules that have been posted and agreed upon. Ru already knows who he wants to send home. He picks out a song to give his chosen queen a chance to redeem herself, and/or justify sending a queen home. I mean, "I Will Survive," though an anthem, is probably hard to do at this point since its impact is so diluted. It was perfect for justifying a double elimination. And tonight's song was clearly in ChiChi's wheelhouse. Soulful, sincere, nitty-gritty. Thorgy is an excellent performer, but is more humorous and camp. She'll put on a good show, but she may not access the emotions that ChiChi can. So... the minute the song was announced, I knew who Ru had chosen the song to highlight, which meant I knew who Ru wanted to stay. You could just as easily argue that Ru wanted to keep Derrick last week when he gave Derrick and Robby an upbeat modern pop song. The list is endless: Ru wanted to keep Jinkx when he gave her and Detox that unusual song for their LSFYL. Ru wanted to keep Latrice when he gave her and Kenya "Natural Woman." And so on. The minute that you accept that this is a variety show and not a competition is the minute that you relax, I think. Like... yes, it's not fair. And? Water is wet, fire is hot, you know? His drag queen Presidential candidate had an impeccable look, but he had no script at shooting time! His runway look tonight fell flat; he didn't look as crisp as usual. He has a memorable gimmick in his hair, raw talent and a great eye, but insufficient focus. I'm glad Kim Chi remains. Another true original. Edited April 19, 2016 by SFoster21 1 Link to comment

butterbody April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 I never understood the Thorgy love. Always found her a bit disingenuous, and in the last few episodes just a bitter Betty and sore loser. Guiaoshi April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 (edited) Well, I think most of us expected a few weeks ago a top 3 with Acid Betty, Thorgy and Bob right and well... In the end, Thorgy defeated herself tho, all her thought process got in the way of the fun she could have bring. Once the song started I was 110% sure Chi Chi would kill it, the song was made for her/she was pretty much in dress-character for that song. The real shock? Naomi´s from last week wasnt a fluke. Nailed the runway again plus actually made of the best videos/managed to be funny without lose herself. It might be a finale between the absolutely favorite Bob against a dark horse maybe? Ru already knows who he wants to send home. He picks out a song to give his chosen queen a chance to redeem herself, and/or justify sending a queen home. ElectricBoogaloo April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 (edited) I've been up and down on Thorgy throughout the season but yeah, there was no way she could have stayed after Chi Chi's amazing LSFYL. I liked the Chi sister confessions this week - Kim Chi isn't comfortable with public speaking and Chi Chi tries not to sound as country as she is. I'm glad that Ru told both of them to just be who they are. Ha, I loved when Derrick asked Kim Chi if she was from North Korea or South Korea and Kim Chi said that North Korea isn't a place you just leave. And although I know the show isn't overly political I thought it was good that Kim Chi mentioned there is almost no gay/drag culture in Korea and that people in the United States don't realize how lucky they are. No, things here aren't perfect and there are still a lot of problems but there is still a lot more freedom here than in other parts of the world which we can sometimes forget. Bob and Derrick were the clear winners of the maxi challenge. They were able to use their rivalry to kill that challenge. But Bob's runway look was far superior to Derrick's so I would have given the win to just Bob. I am not a Derrick fan, but I was pleasantly surprised at how game he was while they were filming B-roll for Bob's ad. If we had more of Derrick letting loose like that, I would be able to root for him but as it stands, it feels like that was an anomaly. I wasn't crazy about the parts of Naomi's ad where she was talking herself up, but I loved the way she dragged Kim Chi (and I totally loved how much Kim Chi threw herself into that, walking all crazy in her high heels and spitting water at the camera). And damn, Kim Chi's runway mime was all kinds of awesome. I'm so glad she was safe because I love her. While I admire that Thorgy really committed to her character in the ad, I didn't actually like her ad or anything that she said. I thought Chi Chi's was better, as was her runway look. rozen April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 (edited) Bob destroyed that challenge. Nothing will be as good as Bianca literally juggling babies, but that was close. Every time Bob did the evil finger motion, I thought of Sims right before they pull a prank, made me laugh every time. I have to admit, I would like to see what Fish Bob looks like. Her padding is always 100% flawless even when she's doing these cooky makeup looks, so she should be able to do it. I keep getting this sneaking suspicion that Derrick is actually sarcastic, but the other queens sail right past it. It almost looked like he was chuckling to himself after asking the N/S Korea question, but then Kim Chi answered it literally. She did a great job hamming it up for her smear campaign. The word "ratchet" flows far too freely from his mouth though. <3 Bob for pointing out the symbolism of putting a black man in a hoodie + skittles/iced tea reference, but of course this show loves stereotypes for easy laughs so what are you going to do? Kim Chi was the best part of Naomi's ad. Kim Chi could have communicated the same line of thought for her ad (skinny bitches, can't trust 'em) through imagery, which she excels at. That clip of her spewing water at the camera is easily one of my top ten favorite RPDR moments. Hilar! Her runway was sick! And her walk's gotten way better. She's going to get cut soon, though. Naomi has locked in the beauty queen slot. They were setting up Thorgy for her lack of editing all season, and it finally jumped up and bit her. Chi Chi is the lipsync assassin this season I see. If there was ever a song to not cart wheel to, that was it. I kind of wished they had Latrice just show up randomly in the middle of it to demolish both of them though. Xazeal April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 Stellar episode all around! Fun drama, solid challenge performances, great runway and incredible lip sync. This is what RPDR should be. Losing Thorgy is unfortunate, but I don't think we'll get nearly the outrage we got when Dela or Katya went out. Her elimination was entirely justified and the editors even softened the blow by amping up her bitter side. I still think she has Miss Congeniality on lock unless Kim leaves before the finale. My initial prediction for top 3 was Bob, Kim and Naomi, and now that Thorgy's gone I'm starting to believe it again. Chi Chi hasn't been in the top since Pitch Perfect, and Derrick is obviously not really a contender. Still, though - incredible cast this year. Since next week is likely the ball, I'm guessing Kim and Naomi knock it out of the park, and Bob beats Chi Chi in a lip sync, evening things out a little bit for the finale. If not, Bob has this in the bag, which isn't terribly exciting even though it's deserved. Link to comment
RCharter April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 I think the only thing that saved Kim Chi was that: a) they were judged in teams and b) Ru really got her sense of humor and intelligence. Glad that Bob/Derrick got the win, both ads were hilarious in their own way. I wouldn't have been too down on Derrick for her look, she picked a convertible dress and then they sort of read Thorgy for going quirky. Naomi's ad was also hilarious....Kim Chi is lucky they were paired together. I kind of wished they had Latrice just show up randomly in the middle of it to demolish both of them though. I wish Latrice would show up every episode. But Latrice during that political debate in her season was so classic! And then she did a cartwheel. Oh that is as bad as Robbie taking off her wig. Not the song for a cartwheel! Cosmic Muffin April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 Yep, Stardancer, we're down to five queens, so the ball episode, and then the music video episode of top four becoming top three and then the finale. I'm happy with any combo of the remaining queens (except, also minus Derrick) as top three or winner. I too had thought at the beginning that Acid Betty and Thorgy were going to be top three, along with Bob. I'm ok with how things have gone, for the most part, but although it looks like Bob will probably take the crown I'm not positive. Bob kills it in he challenges. I mean, his ad was so damned clever. The scene in the bathroom -- which is a snarky wink to closeted gay congressmen who meet men in bathrooms. The BJ's for everyone line, (Better Jobs!, you dirty minded people!) and paying the guy because he did a good job! I mean, it was very much a nod to gay subculture, Drag shadiness and just funny as hell. But yeah, his runway is not stellar. He has had some great conceptual looks that if Kim Chi wasn't there doing wearable art damn near every week, it would stand out more. But his glam is very low rent. Kaboom 2.0 April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 (edited) Aw, sorry to see Thorgy go but at least she recognizes that she gets stuck in her head a lot and can't get out of it, now if she could only DO something about it! I hope she gets more exposure and bookings out of this, the world needs more Thorgy even if she did not give me Joanne Worley in the Snatch Game like I dreamed of. LOL Chi Chi's LSFYL was one of THE best we've ever seen on RPDR. I mean...DAMN. When she was finished I sat back in my seat (didn't realize I had scooted up to see a girl give herself totally to that song in that moment) and fanned myself with my hand. As young as she is she can give a professional clinic on how to LSFYL. Unless Bob fucks up big time I think she's top three, and I'm totally good with any of the remaining queens (minus Derrick) being top three, they're all so talented, beautiful, hilarious in different ways, I can go on and on. Dirtybubble April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 Well pooh =( I was afraid this was going to happen; Thorgy was really getting a weird angry vibe this episode. Honestly I can understand her frustration. For awhile now this season has been the BOB show and everyone else has been supporting actors/players. Yes bob is talented and deserves his praise BUT he ain't the only ho at this hoedown! If I was on this season I would be bitter as well. BOB is happy and enjoying the process of the show but it's easy to be this way when everything is going your way--when the judges are kissing your ass and you've been successful at every challenge....sooo IDK while I still like BOB it's blaringly obvious that he is going to win this season. Surely this is a frustrating idea to everyone else. 1 Link to comment
xingcat April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 Eh. I just don't know. The season has so many incredibly talented queens, but we seem to have a lot of propping up going on here. Derrick's performance was...fine? I mean, the whole "performance" in this challenge was made entirely in the editing room, so I don't quite know what it is he did that was so spectacular, and even Ru couldn't pretend it wasn't Bob's show. Thorgy stumbled, but he's been getting the "bitter" edit for a while now, since Acid was let go. So now we have a final 5 made up of Bob and a bunch of other queens who rely really heavily on looks or on performing as one specific person. I think that's not terribly exciting. Kim Chi is an absolute sweetheart, but she honestly is 1000% about the runway looks and everything else is meh, to me. Naomi is gorgeous, but she's very low energy. Chi Chi has more excuses than Robbie and Thorgy put together, but she has the "girl from a small town" storyline going on, and you know nothing beats a good story. So it's The Bob Show Starring Bob and Derrick Who Is Too Famous To Fail, to me. Snore. 6 Link to comment

Thorgy's voice in her political ad was a straight up rip-off of Justin Vivian Bond's Kiki DuRayne character. ( For all that is good and holy, Please google Kiki and Herb if you haven't heard of them. They are amazing!,) At this point, My favorite for winning the whole shebang is Naomi Smalls. 1 Link to comment
oakLeaf April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 Being from the South (and having a whole lotta family where the family tree doesn't fork), I totally understood what Chi Chi was saying. People do tend to treat folk with country accents as if they are stupid, so I love it that she tore it up on the LSFYL. And slightly off topic, I'm going to RPDR:BotS tonight. YAY! 4 Link to comment

I'm going twice, maybe more if any friends have spare tickets. I so want Justin Vivian Bond to guest judge someday! She DID sound very Kiki in her ad. 1 Link to comment

I used to see them back in the day at Fez, and Flamingo East, and watched them work their way up the food chain, the last time I saw them was when they played in San Francisco in 2007. cpansy April 19, 2016 Share April 19, 2016 I could not look away from Chi Chi during that LSFYL, much like Latrice's Natural Woman. Both ladies had the sense to let the song take them where they needed to go; they rose and fell with those emotions. As much as I adore Thorgy, this was no contest. Still loving Kim Chi - her reads are sly, like a stiletto (and I mean knife) slipped through the ribs. They are not blunt hammers. I still think Kim has more to show us, although I agree with everyone on the eventual Bob coronation. Which I agree with. They can't get that crown off what's-her-name's head fast enough for me. (I know it's Violet.) 5 Link to comment
