That's the song in the promo. The YouTube clip is a couple posts above.

I just watched it. I am legit shocked they used it, but as we've learned over this past year, if she gets enough money, she'll let you have her songs (and I'm only half-criticizing her for that, for the record).

Took Vanessa way too long to post this! She must have gotten lost in her bathroom or something:

I just sent Sonny and Carly a wedding gift. A crystal Vase and a beautiful Espresso machine from Rome. #ImBrendaBitch

So, what happens when people tune in to GH looking for romance and they're subjected to:

Maxie in a relationship with an inanimate object

Nik screwing a woman he paid someone to murder

Liz in a Misery themed romance with Dufus!Jason

Sam/Patrick in a DOA, chem-free romance

The gross, boring badly-written Dante/Lulu/Dillon/Valerie quad &

Carly/Sonny being Carly and Sonny

Are TIIC insane or just stupid?

All jokes and snark aside, based on what I've read has been happening on the show the last almost two full months since I last watched I have to wonder if Frank is making the show asbad as possible on purpose.

I've always wondered if Frank really wanted to re-sign Mo.  because I saw three different attempts during the Cartini era to phase Sonny out.  And after all three, to me blatant, attempts the show seemed to literally overnight make a hard turn back towards Sonny.

No, no one is gonna waste time and money making something as bad as possible on purpose. Well, unless it's a parody or something like that. But I don't think ABC is afraid of cancelling this show. Whatever has stopped it so far, it's not a fear of a non-existent public outcry.

Judging from Tyra's new talk show, it's going to be a while then.

Is anyone's ABC affiliate airing it?  If so, what slot?

It's airing here on TheCW at 4, which is the NBC's sister station.  My local ABC didnt want it on their main or sister station.

I think she's mostly kidding around. If she actually cared that much she'd be asking to make guest appearances

I'd be happy to have her pop up for a couple weeks to sit on the sidelines and chuck dinner rolls at people every time they're being stupid.

I can't imagine that he is.  There aren't exactly a whole bunch of "soap EP" positions left out there, and I'd say only one of them would even potentially be open to him - Y&R.  He has nothing to gain by sabotaging the show and a steady paycheck to lose.

Who's to say ABC isn't paying him MORE to destroy it. he is doing a great job of it.

Yea, one good game show, talk show or a decent hour of news and GH is gone.

Hell, give me another hour of the Action News team here in Philly. As professional as they are, they're still more entertaining than this show.

Except Karen. I don't want another hour of her perkiness. And I would take her over GH in a heartbeat.

So because Luke and Laura was f'd up that gives free reign for all other couples to be as gross as possible. Even if I cared the moment an actor pulls the Luke and Laura argument I would be out.

Oh for the love of all that is holy ... "well, yeah, what we're doing right now is an abomination -- but Luke raped Laura decades ago and y'all apparently loved that!  So suck it up, audience!"

Is this really their answer to everything at this point?

Everyone involved in this show just needs to get off the damn Twitter.

Which is bullshit because it seemed to me after several months TPTB on GH started downplaying the rape and turning it into some sort of seduction, because they knew how creeped out the audience was, despite the chem between Tony Geary and Genie Francis. And just because someone committing some sort of horrible act against another and it ended up turning into something epic, doesn't mean lightening will strike again or that is what made them epic.

Wow...no.  He tried.  To have.  Her killed.

I hate this "But...Luke and Laura!" defense to every unpalatable pairing.

ETA...has Nikolas expressed any remorse over ordering Rebecca Budig's murder?  No, right?  He was going to follow through until Liz begged him not to.

That's gross. I did not watch Luke and Laura live; and I have never had any feelings about them except "ick" because I'm really not into rapists and their rape victims in "romantic pairings." But, more to the point, it's not the 70s anymore. I would really hope, in 2015, the Luke and Laura storyline would be unthinkable. And the "I know you are but what am I" defense of bad storytelling is...just...wow.

In Los Angeles, FabLife airs on ABC at 3pm (GH's old slot.)

Exactly. Unlike Luke, Nik nor Franco ever showed any ounce of genuine remorse over their actions. Luke was despondent over what he did.  Nik & Franco were wriitten as   expecting  instant forgiveness because "tumor made me do it" or "the ends justified the means". Blech.

Everyone on this show needs to stop bringing up L&L period. It was almost 40 years ago, and the writing and acting cannot compare. It will be impossible to recreate another L&L so this trend of "Man doing something unforgiveable to a woman or her family, woman not only forgives but falls in love with said asshole even though he's not all that sorry about it" really needs to stop.  Its truly disgusting and sad.

Dear Kin Shriner,
Your friend John Stamos has his own show and you are good at comedic timing. See if you can get a recurring role of some kind so you have some fuck you money and GH can kiss your ass. Kim Mccullough, see if you can get a gig directing.
Sincerely,

If they can't and won't spend the money and time to make these things work, they shouldn't do it. There was care involved in it.

I'm not going to try and defend Luke and Laura because it was a mess, and I think they started out wanting to do an informative "acquaintance rape" story ... but then they didn't want to kill off Geary's character in a mob hit after all, so it eventually turned into a "seduction". And that was very bad, too, because it perpetuated the myth about acquaintance rape not being "real" rape.

But honestly, what the hell is Tyler's point? Yes, that was not good. What you are promoting now is also not good. And?

Luke/Laura chemistry and story =/= Nik/Rebecca Budig character. It's not even a pale imitation, it's just an embarrassing contrast. Despite RC's incredibly gross attitude towards sexual consent, he is completely incapable of writing a Luke/Laura story. He'd give Luke a tumor and Laura would fall in love with him on Twitter instead of doing an actual redemption arc

Plus you guys in Philly have a legendary theme song that has only been changed once in 40 years, and it was an orchestral version of the same song (but viewers complained enough that it was changed within days). There's a local TV station news theme station I go to, which is why I know such nerdy things as this. ;)

OTOH, it could be argued that L&L made the show more cautious about how the show paired couples up because of that unfortunate beginning to their relationship.

Well, I mean, except for Monty okaying a scene which implies that Alan raped Monica:

Although I've heard that there was a scene in 1995 that implied that Luke might rape Laura AGAIN, and that was in 1995 (and it turned to be sex--they had an argument and closed the door behind them as Laura said no). Which means LABINE would have written that. WTF? Does anyone have a clip of that?

It's stunning that, if he went, crazy-for-mob-peen Liz would be the only contract player who works at the hospital.  How embarrassing.

This quote, especially the bolded part, really, had me laughing, and so grateful I'd already swallowed my coffee:

Patrick's subsequent romances with Nurse Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo) and "widowed" P.I. Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco), while popular, never generated the kind of heat, or storyline potential, Thompson shared with McCullough.

Because I don't ever recall his romance with Sabrina being popular. Or with Sam. But that may be just me, as I wasn't a fan of the former, and the latter, just made me roll my eyes, because the speed of how it came to be, I think, was due to the cute instagram or was it Twitter? pictures of Kelly and Jason in the dressing rooms, being themselves, and how how cuuuuute they looked together. They did, but they were being themselves.

I mean, everything has its fans.  There was a subset of VERY devoted Patrick/Sabrina fans there for a while (including Michael Fairman, #1 Sabrina Cheerleader).  And I admit to liking Patrick/Sam in the beginning, partly because it wasn't Patrick/Sabrina.

The problem is that both of those relationships weren't about Patrick in the slightest.  The first was about selling Ugly Sabrina to the audience, the second about being angst for the Jason/Sam story.

He should leave.  They clearly have no interest in the Patrick character

I think Patrick was better off story wise with Sabrina than Sam. Sam's just been a boring, no airtime disaster. With Sabrina that plot had a lot more going on and airtime.

JFP is probably already calling him up. There's a lot of potential storyline people there for him. Abby, Ashley, Lily, Summer, etc..

Again, I'm split down the middle fighting with myself. If they aren't going to write for Patrick, and it clearly appears they aren't, he should go. But if he leaves, what does that leave us as far as doctors? Obrecht, who's recurring and evil. Monica, who's never seen. That's it, right?

While I don't really have an investment in the hospital nearly as much of you, that doesn't mean that there should be no doctors on contract. I'm not sure how they've gotten to this point, but it's not a good place to be in. I sound like a hypocrite because I was completely fine with Silas leaving, but Ron should have cut his losses with the OLTL3 after the PP mess. They did not need to come back.

My guess is that JP/SA will promise him something to get him to re-sign, but it won't really amount to much of anything.

At the risk of pissing off Scrubs fans, isn't it somewhat fair to say that Patrick never really had much of a chance to develop as a fully individual character, even at the beginning and with Robin?

They could make new characters doctors and or nurses. Jamey Giddens was saying apparently Kristina and Lulu should be nurses, but Lulu is just not the nursing type. Kristina maaaaybe. Maybe Valerie? (and of course there could be a man nurse or two but I can't picture either Michael or Morgan. Maaaaaybe Michael. It would take me a while to get used to it.)

See, I think Patrick developed as an individual just fine during his Robin years. I don't think just because a character is with someone they don't have their own personality. I was actually pretty excited to see how he would function without Robin when Kim McC left. BUT. Then they effed it up when they made Robin a prisoner. I can't route for him with anyone when Robin is a prisoner. I do agree overall that there probably wasn't much chance for him to be popular with another woman post-Robin, but the way they did it, they pretty much ruined all chances.

Knowing this show, they'd probably make Nina or Kiki a nurse.

There's also the obvious answer of making Lucas a contract player, but that'll never happen.

Especially this last time. And not only THAT, but I 100% believe JT is pissed that his character can't talk about Robin. He doesn't understand his character not giving a fuck and completely forgetting about her. He doesn't understand the apathy. They've completely erased 50% of Patrick and he knows that. And it has nothing to do with whether KMc is on-screen or not.

Any new characters that came in would cause the masses to go into an uproar, I fear. I would buy Lulu more than Kristina though. They should have made Valerie a nurse from the beginning instead of having her work at the PCPD. I know, they had to put her in close proximity with Dante, but the cheating could still have happened. It makes sense that she would be a nurse, since she spent however long taking care of her mother. Maybe you've heard of her, the one that died?

A while back, when he wasn't so stupid, I said that Morgan could be a paramedic. It was around that awful Alice needing a heart storyline. Now I can't see him as anything except a janitor or a porn star.

I completely forgot all about Lucas. :(
