 I saw it differently.   Michelle was responding to the question "what did you do for  EASTER?".    There's no way to answer that without mentioning  that Hey, that's a religious holiday I don't celebrate!  She pretty much had to mention religion in some way.  If she said "I went to brunch", that would imply that she was celebrating Easter, and she would be criticized for denying her Jewish faith. 

 

I think people forget that asking how people celebrated a religious holiday makes the assumption that we are all of the same religion.   WHoopi should have asked "so, those of you who celebrate, did you do anything special for Easter?"   That would have been easier for Michelle to sidestep.

Easter is a pagan holiday.  Christians tagged Jesus onto it just like they did Dec 25th and renamed it!   It is only a religious holiday to Christians.  Only 33% of the world is Christian.  Candace STFU.  Kudos to Whoopie for quickly getting things back on track!

A few observations from today.

 

• During the talk re the allegations about Cruz having had affairs, and Michelle saying she would love if this were true, CCB took her on re saying that.  At the end of the segment before going to commercial, Michelle doesn't back down but says they all love each other, and CCB said something, exasperated, but I couldn't make it out, and Whoopi looked super confused and they went to break.  It seems like everyone is being so careful around CCB.
• Whoopi told us after a break that she had messed up the NC story because she accidentally said Georgia, but she had already corrected that when it happened.  Then she went on to say she messes stuff up, and that no, she is not stoned.
• Raven interrupted the Hoff to talk about and show a vid of his from the 80s and when it didn't immediately show, she got annoyed with the director saying she had interrupted him and now they weren't showing it and then it suddenly played.
• I think it is pretty clear that CCB agrees with NC re transgender law.
• I got the feeling that the Hoff is one of Whoopi's long ago lovers.

What the hell is there to understand about being transgender?  I just don't get that.  You're a person who's in the wrong body, simple, period, nothing else to understand.  Maybe she needs to get with a few trans people and talk to them.  GEEZE

 

What I find interesting is that CCB is getting all kinds of crap for Fuller House and it being not for anyone under age 15.  Lots of sex and sexual innuendo, CCB making out with two different guys because she can't decide which guy she wants and some girl on girl kissing.  Her Christian followers are apparently very disappointed in her and this show.

Whoopi will be glad to hear that the gov of GA will veto any anti LGBT legislation. The corporate dollar has spoken. Not so much in NC though. Was it Candace or Jed who trotted out the "think of the children" talking point regarding restrooms? Such a ridiculous argument. As if a transgender person is going to be leering at women or children. I don't mean to sound as if I'm patting my back, but when my kids were little we wanted them to experience all kinds of people to let them know not everyone looks like they are from IN. For example we took them to Provincetown Cape Cod where they got an eye full of the LGBT community. Both kids grew up to be open minded and nonjudgmental about (and certainly not threatened by) how people look or who they choose to love. When Candace makes an effort to learn more about the LGBT community (yeah, right) she should make sure her kids are educated as well.

There's nothing to "understand" for those of us who accept the scientific conclusion that some people are born different from others. Some are born with red hair &/or freckles, while others are not -- some are born gay, while others are not -- some are born transgender, while others are not.

 

We don't have to "understand" why some people have red hair &/or freckles while others do not, & we certainly don't have to "tolerate" them, much less "forgive" them.  It's not a matter of "fault", it's just biology operating in the normal course of events to produce variety among us.
