Discussion of the hosts regarding a specific episode is fine here, but generalized discussion of the hosts go in the The Hosts Thread: Joe and Mika Know Their Value.

Woke ass Adnan was on this morning being rude and wrong.  He made up some woke story about how "we're all tired of plutocrats, "blah blah blah and how Bloomberg and Trump are the same.  Obama isn't a plutocrat.  Clinton wasn't.  Mrs Clinton isn't.  Carter wasn't.  There are no left wing plutocrats in the party, aside from Bloomberg, and none have made any policy in the modern world.  It's a fake woke argument.
When he says that the American Dream is simply a phrase that has no actual meaning to most of Americans, that's correct.  Nothing else he said is.  He wants Bloomberg to be punished for being rich, and blames Bloomberg at once for being rich, for others being poor, and not having fixed all economics in America.
He is the reason Democrats lose elections.  He's in the business of being woke and ideologically pure, not in winning elections.

I like it when Anand is on the show. Conservatives like Brett Stephens think they can simply paint him as a clueless socialist and he turns around and debates their dismissive portrayal with actual facts.

Joe doesn't have him on the show much. I think Anand supports Medicare for All which disgusts Joe.

Brett Stephens?? Really? Did we forget his little twitter dust up? He's such a jerk.

I guess having people with such diametrically opposed opinions is an interesting way to fill a half hour.  All Anand had to do is bring up stop and frisk. He would have shut Stephens down cold.

Where are the Bobbsey Twins?

Mika & Joe have the morning off. Willie is in charge.

Barnicle is offering advice on military procedure.

Trump fired the Secretary of the Navy.

Speaking of Barnicle, I haven't enjoyed a show opening like today's since I can't remember when.  They started with SNL's Democratic debate sketch which was brilliant, so many great cameos and then they cut to Willie and Barnicle sitting uncomfortably close to each other which Willie noted and it flashed in my head Mike's become Meeks!`

From what I saw of today's show, it just really highlighted how the overall discussions are so much better without those two chiming in/interfering.  I don't know where they are and I hope they take the whole week off as I am sure they have to rest up after having to be in NYC last week.

I will never, ever forget that. Such a petty loser.

I only watched briefly this morning (right before Anand showed up -- a man, I might add, who looks like a villain from a Rankin/Bass animated holiday special) and couldn't agree more with this. There was actual conversation and engagement between Willie and the guest. Unlike with Joe who only wants to use whatever guest appears to bellow at him before taking leave of his basement in order to take a nap on his sofa or fondle Mika's boobs in the bathroom.

The Scarboroughs are unlikely to return the rest of the week. It's a holiday week so those two are probably off to some tropical paradise.

Mika is recovering from her announcement about her new weight.

Joe is working on his album of Thanksgiving songs.

I doubt they will show up this week.

Mika tweeted recently that either today or this weekend was their anniversary.

One year of wedded blech.

I like how Willie introduced, in detail, the entire panel, and then just casually dropped in the line at the end.  You just know what he really thinks of his show's nominal hosts.

I wondered if they had to sit like that because those are the spots where the cameras are set up for Joe and Mika.  But no, they're always in the breakfast nook, can't be that.

6 minutes ago, teddysmom said:

Because everyone gets to take a week off for their anniversary.

Has anyone ever tracked how many days they actually roll out of bed and into the breakfast nook, never mind how many days they put in the whole grueling three hours?  Not that I'm complaining.  It's a nice little show when they're not there.  Now if Barnicle would only take a year or two off.

I actually thought the first time she rolled out her impression that she was totally spot-on, more so than this time.

I haven't.  I read his op-ed over the weekend, and all I want to know is, what is "moral hygiene?"  As for getting 4 Republican senators, it's not a slam-dunk that even the entire Democratic senatorial caucus will vote to convict.  I'm not convinced that blue dog Democrat senators like Joe Manchin will go along, because there's no gain in it for him (piss off his voters while not affecting the outcome) in voting yes.

Well, since we're on douching, I see an opportunity for Mika:

This Summer’s Eve ad from Women’s Day magazine says that if you want a raise, one of the first things you can do is shower with “Summer’s Eve Feminine Wash,” although it might also be a good idea to bring some “cleansing cloths” with you “for a quick freshness pick-me-up” right before you ask the boss for more money.

Willie is in the studio.  Joe and Mika are off.  Eddie Glaude and Barnicle are there.

The top story is that a federal judge has ruled that former WH lawyer Don McGahn has to testify in the impeachment probe.  McGahn is likely to seek a stay of the order and will appeal to the DC Circuit.  However, according to a legal analyst Dan Cevallos, even if compelled to testify, once in the witness chair, he can claim executive privilege. At least they got a legal analyst and not just Barnicle talking out of his ass. Although he did talk out of his ass about the military.

They talked about the resignation of the Secretary of the Navy.  They feel that Trump is attacking institutions.

Polls show a four-way race in New Hampshire between Sanders, Warren, Buttigieg, and Biden.  Buttigieg is popular with older voters.

WaPo Eugene says the race is up for grabs. He thinks many are undecided.  We might not get answers until Super Tuesday.  Barnicle says the question for voters is who can beat Trump.

I enjoyed Glenn Simpson and his partner from Fusion GPS.  I have been screaming to the heavens during the hearings that HILLARY CLINTON DID NOT HIRE CHRISTOPHER STEELE TO FIND DIRT ON TRUMP.  I think that book is on my must get list.

Ken Dilanian is a bit of a shit stirrer.  No Ken just because you don't have hard evidence of something doesn't mean it didn't happen. If Mueller couldn't get people to testify or turn over evidence, then he's somewhat hamstrung, correct? It's just like with the mob. If no one talks, how do you find out who ordered a hit?

It certainly bears repeating that this show is SO good without the Bobbsey Twins yelling and rolling their eyes and just being their usual insufferable bores.

How good was today's show?  Those two guys were great.
With Joe's oversized ego out of the room for two full days and for the foreseeable future, you can see others' egos begin to take shape and characters try to assert themselves.  Very enjoyable, informative TV.

I don't like Ken Dilanian. I feel that he is a lazy reporter who uncritically accepts the official "spin." He was the first one to dismiss the Mueller Report based solely on Barr's interpretation, before anyone had actually read the content.

Willie is in the studio with Donnie and Susan del Percio.  The top story is Elizabeth Warren's support is down by half nationally.  Donnie says Liz has the demeanor of a high school principal.  He thinks she is not electable.  He doesn't like her "brand."  However, the panel pointed out that people like to take selfies with her.

In my opinion selfies mean nothing.  People will take selfies with any well-known person.

I knew they would put Donny & Steven Rattner on the show the day after a bad poll come out for Elizabeth Warren.

Donny now says Warren would lose in a landslide to Donald Trump. There is no evidence to support that.

It's pretty embarrassing for MSNBC to employ him as a political analyst.

Ratner has made it clear that he will not support Warren due to her advocacy of higher taxes on Capital Gains & private equity.

Will he disclose that he manages Bloomberg's money on the show ?

Why was Karine Jean Pierre not offended when Donnie said Bernie Sanders is neither likeable nor electable?  I would have liked to hear from Karine Jean Pierre how she sees Warren winning NC, PA, MI, OH, WI, FL by lecturing to blue collar voters.  Donnie is being practical.

Donny D has shown himself to be quite the Sexist/Chauvinist.  I am also tired of his weeping and hand-wringing over his pal Michael Cohen, who he brings up constantly on all the shows.  I didn't see it but am glad that Karine Jean Pierre spoke up...she is not a woman who suffers fools and she is fierce.  Things that must drive Donny crazy.

Donny: MFA allows Donald Trump to use the "S" word against the Democrats.

Donny, the ghost of Ronald Reagan could be the Dem nominee and Trump would still call him socialist. It's not about the facts for him.

Man, these people are in love with candidate Bloomberg. Sorry Joe B.

During Donny's Bloomberg spiel I was wondering if he's behind Bloomberg because he's a fellow NY businessman or if he's being bribed, etc.  It seemed like he was pretty strongly on Bloomberg's side?

I guess for me is that I am tired of hearing the word "likeable" as it is totally subjective.  I don't hear people using the likeable phrase when folks are in the top slots only to drag it out when their numbers slip a bit.  It seems to me that plenty of people like both Warren and Sanders and I would bet it is because their policies appeal to them.  I am tired of electing candidates with charisma as that isn't working out very well on local/state/nationwide elections.

What made me grind my gears this morning was Donnie's insistence that Warren isn't likeable and then he finally came out with the fact that he doesn't like her.  I have no problem with him voicing his opinion but he wouldn't let it go.  Between his constant whining about Michael Cohen and those God-awful suit/outfits he's been sporting, I would be not unhappy if he took the holidays off and kept going.  I used to like him a lot and would get angry when the Scarborough's would dunk on him.  I don't know which one of us changed but I now change the channel when I see him coming.

Donnie D is taking hits on Mediaite, Huffington Post and Twitter....so far.  It will probably get worse for him as more people listen to what he said and then pile on.  Happy Thanksgiving, Mr. One Percent.

Donnie only came out with the Bernie comment after he’d been called out for his comments on Warren, and it seemed kind of disingenuous at that point.

”Likeability” is one of those code words used against female candidates like “shrill” or “hectoring” (which I think Donnie also used against Warren). KJP was right to call him out. If Donnie doesn’t like her positions on MFA, fine, say so. But he seems to harbor extra vitriol for her over and above her policy positions. I think he just has a bias against older women.

There is no Morning Joe this morning.  MSNBC is rerunning "11th Hour with Brian Williams."  His top guest was Adm.  William McRaven, who has appeared on Morning Joe several times.

Brian presented this interesting fact about the admiral: He earned a journalism degree from the University of Texas prior to entering SEAL training.  So, in addition to kicking ass in the military, he is a trained journalist! This explains his unique ability to make sense of Joe's non-questions.

Now, in what would usually be the second hour, they are re-running the show from September 26, when they were reading the whistleblower report.  I’d rather just see some actual news.

It was a historic interview for Mika & Joe.

I also appreciated that they said they were on tape without snarky comments.

That’s the only part I saw—them and about eight others reading the report—did not realize there was an interview also.

As I was deleting old podcasts yesterday, I found the 2017 “apology” episode for the non-live post-Thanksgiving show. Still a classic.

Joe and Mika have separate cameras with DC backgrounds.  Are they in DC or Florida or New York?  Unclear.

First, Montana Gov. Steve Bullock has suspended his presidential campaign.  No word on who he will endorse.

Next, Joe says the Republicans are repeating Russian talking points.  The first impeachment hearing is on Wednesday.  The White House will not participate in the hearing.  The president will go to the NATO summit in London this week.

Joe is disturbed that Republicans went on Sunday news shows to defend Trump.  Joe said the Republicans are doing word salad and talking points. Joe  yelled and ranted about communism. Joe said all roads lead to Putin.  Joe asked Al Sharpton about the fall of the Berlin wall and the "twilight struggle against communism."  They forgot to add footage of Joe scaling the wall!

Good grief, did Joe put Red Bull in his Wheaties this morning??   He's going full bore on and on and on, in his best Vienna Boys Choir tenor voice.    Getting more hyper and blabby and his voice keeps getting higher and  higher; I'm afraid he's gonna bust a vocal cord or something.   Chill out, dude, it's only 6:30 in the morning.   You've got a long day ahead of you.
