Absolutely correct.  And those much more in-depth test results would show that Jack is not the father but is biologically related to Luna.  That would have been a much better way for this SL to unfold.  Li, so certain Jack is the father runs her own test and the results show Jack is "sort-of" her father?!  Related to Luna?  How could that be?!

If you're talking about the bogus setup the show claims is an actual home paternity test, then no, it doesn't - the thing looks more like a home covid test than anything else - an actual home paternity test, which is a DNA test, wouldn't involve taking a blood sample, but samples from inside the cheeks, and then sending them off to a lab for testing, and the lab wouldn't send back a stick showing, or not showing, a line, you'd get a printed form from the lab identifying the method use in the testing, the results of the testing and a summary of those results, and a sample from a biological grandfather would show as a familial connection.

As of Friday's show, Li's bogus test shows that Jack is definitely not Luna's father, but nothing else, which causes her to beg both Jack and Poppy for forgiveness.

I understand.  My point was had they used an actual paternity test, the results would have been much more interesting instead of the "one line for yes, two lines for no" COVID/pregnancy test facsimile they used.

But, I guess they had to go that route so that Li would be full of tearful forgiveness for her sister, having for years wrongly suspected Poppy of interfering in her marriage.  Then, shock-of-shocks, it's not Li's husband Poppy slept with, but her son!  Betrayal all over again!

Poppy letting Li sob all over herself apologizing for thinking she slept with her husband, when she really slept with her son is a choice. Although... I wonder if maybe Poppy is the one who doesn't remember sleeping with Finn. I had been operating under the assumption that Finn didn't remember for whatever reason. But, seeing that preview where Finn is saying "you know why," to her, it makes me wonder if maybe he remembers, and she doesn't (although he thinks she does). 

I feel confident Finn is Luna's father, but I really have no idea how they're going to get there. Every time I think I've figured out the "how" of it all, something comes along to change my mind. 

It would be hilarious if someone came across Steffy and Daphne meeting up behind a locked door, and rumors started flying around FC that Steffy is cheating on Finn with Daphne.

Yeah the science is one billion percent wrong, but:

1) why should the show now start doing things the way they would happen IRL (Luna get out of jail free card, etc.); and 

2) for sake of immediate drama, they went the Covid/home pregnancy test route. The reveal probably wouldn’t have been as impactful if everyone had to reconvene days /weeks later to see the results

Well. I was thinking the writers might be getting inspiration from the latest news of the Menendez bros & how they might get out of jail cuz.of the alleged abuse they supposedly suffered by their father.  But given how this show is soooo repetitive & unoriginal with storylines, maybe not.

Clearly, they’re looking for a way to not just fit Luna back in, but highlight her.  And that means not having her in prison — or stuck, forever hiding in $Bill’s manse, cuz that limits possibilities for storylines.  But I’m not seeing how they do this in a way that makes any sense, for someone who admitted to purposely killing 2 people.

Guess Bell figures making sense doesn’t matter & just shove any dumb sh*t at us?  Pretty much.  Blech.

I am curious about $Bill's backstory as it doesn't make sense. I never had the impression he didn't have a good relationship with his father and was "forced" into SP. When Bill first came on the show, he had been sent by his father specifically to get back at Eric by seducing Donna. Bill Sr. also left behind a tape about enacting revenge on the Forresters. Bill seemed very willing to so along with the plan.

He met Katie by accident one night at a hotel bar. Katie had just been fired from FC and got blind drunk. Bill took her to his hotel room and instead of taking advantage of her, took good care of her and called Donna to come get her. That's when Katie started falling for him.

Does anybody remember this? 

I also don't buy that Poppy's lifestyle had such a detrimental effect on Luna. When they first came on the show, Luna seemed very content and she and Poppy had a good relationship. Poppy may have been flaky, but I don't believe was abusive or neglectful toward Luna.

Make it make sense!

I 100% remember the Katie getting drunk and Bill taking care of her.

Also yes, Poppy and Luna seemed very close and happy when they first came onto the show. But we're *supposed* to forget this so the writing makes sense, rather than heaven forbid, the writers use their imagination and writing skills to *make* it make sense!

If they’re trying to clean up Luna’s image, may I suggest not writing dialogue that has her whining about being the child of one of her murder victims? Probably shouldn’t have shown that flashback of Luna handing Hollis another swig of poison as he started to peace out either. Rigging a paternity test and framing your mother aren’t crimes of passion. I suppose we’re meant to forget Luna creeping on Bill with that creepy smile on her face? ALL THIS SHIT JUST HAPPENED!!!

PREACH!!!  Too often lately the show keeps trying to retcon something that happened quite recently.  Why do they keep insulting/gaslighting viewers with recent events actually shown on screen?!

If they really wanted Lisa Yamada to stay they could have gone ye old soap style surprise twins. Make Poppy so flaky she didn't notice she delivered 2 babies and here comes Lina. Luna is how she originally played Mary Sue style and then film a few flashbacks (you know they love their flashbacks) where Lina puts Luna In a Box and takes over, kills Tom and Hollis, puts Steffy in a(nother) box, kisses Bill etc, leave her in jail, Luna escapes somehow and shows up at Bill's and for awhile they think Lina escaped jail but all is revealed (quickly or agonizingly slowly depending on the writers that week) and voila LY can play both versions as needed. Lina can bond with her psycho grandmother, Finn and Steffy can deal with him fathering twins with his aunt, bring in a recast RJ and a triangle with Will and Luna--months of story!

But $Bill is a retconned kid.  When Bill Sr. was onscreen, he had one daughter, Caroline, on whom he doted.  Later, shock-twin retconned Karen showed up.  But never a mention of a son.  It would make sense, however, if Bill Sr., chauvinist that he was, tracked down his illegitimate son to take over the company simply because he wanted a man at the helm.  
 

But beyond that initial revenge-on-Eric bs, we’ve not heard anything about the relationship between the two Bill Spencers.  I’m guessing part of the point of $Bill’s bonding with Luna is to flesh out his backstory a bit.

Riddle me this…how is Finn, who’s a doctor, unable to count backwards from 40 weeks, to get a clue that he might’ve gotten his aunt pregnant?? All of a sudden, 20 years later, his math is mathing? I’m guessing he gave her a neck massage in her office, & she instantly fell in love with him. 

The Poppy actress has the best skin on the show. Holy cow do I covet her perfect skin.

I had to check, because I thought I remembered Finn and Steffy getting married during the summer, not in January. And, I was right. Their wedding aired in August of 2021. Taylor can be forgiven for not knowing that, seeing as, once again, she didn't show up for one of her kids. But Steffy, Finn, and Ridge were all there. Or, is January just the anniversary of the first time Steffy and Finn banged? Because I could totally see, with that creepy inappropriate family, her parents being all in on talking about her celebrating that anniversary. 

Finn telling Li she should have talked to him back then, and he could have reassured her that Jack and Poppy weren't have sex. The "because I was the one she was fucking" was silent. 

Watching his "where'd the frisbee go?" facial expressions as he started doing the math on Luna's conception, was hilarious.  The back and forth between him figuring that out while the beige brigade was telling Steffy that even though Finn might not see his parents together like she's seeing hers, he'll still have Steffy, was like a downpour of anvils. Add in Sheila talking about losing out on Finn's childhood and not wanting to miss out on her grandkids, and it's beyond obvious at this point where this is all going.

If it does come to pass on the show that Finn is Luna’s biological father, and the Steffy stans absolutely riot over this, just watch the show retcon Finn the Daddy faster than you can say Boo. 
From this forum, I’ve learned that Steffy stans are extremely vocal on social media and if they are Not.Happy about how the Finn/Luna story will negatively affect their girl, then enjoy the fun, karmic speculation now because that might be all the joy we get from this potential storyline.

I agree that having Ted King back is great. He demonstrates a subtlety in his acting that is sorely needed on this show. They should develop him as a whole character. Also, wouldn't it be fun if perhaps he could strike up a friendship with Brooke? Or more than a friendship? That would make Brooke Steffy's potential Stepmother-in-law. That could make Steffy's wigs spontaneously combust. Of course, then Taylor would have to want him as well, as she must have all of Brooke's men eventually.

100% this. Naomi Matsuda is absolutely awful. I mean, not as horrible as freaking Emma Barber (Nia Sioux, OMG she should be barred from appearing anywhere until she gets acting lessons), but she's just terrible. Romy Park has a range where Naomi Matsuda just spits nails. Also, I cannot believe she's 7 years younger than me! I just saw that she's only 46, which surprised me. I thought she was at least 55-56, but I also think that everyone is older than me. 😉

Yeah. As I’ve learned Steffy on this show is like Cujo and her spawn on General  Hospital.

I miss the days when soaps had nuance and the stans especially had to SUCK IT.

So, on today's show, the storyline is Jack's not the daddy, Tom Starr wasn't the daddy, who could the daddy be and we get lots of shots of Finn and Poppy looking like they're both wondering if just one time could do the trick.

Whoever is Luna’s father raise your 🤚.  Finn does that mean you 🤞?  Finn was starting college when in Poppy moved in.  Finn was probably 18 years old. 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school, at least 3 years of residency but it depends  on his specialty, and another 3 years of a fellowship program. This would make Finn at least 32 year old.  There was another clue when Li said that Poppy was always there, for Finn, and was looking after him “very closely”.

My new theory on how this happened - the way they keep referencing Poppy being there to help Finn, when Finn was a grown ass college student, I'm wondering if he was maybe a late bloomer, and (my skin crawls to think this) somehow he was bemoaning his lack of experience to Poppy, and, one thing led to another, and... Because it's just so odd how Li and Jack are talking about Finn back then, like he was this young kid they needed Poppy to nanny. Meanwhile, Poppy has been the only one, of the three of them, to point out that Finn was a college student at the time, and he didn't really need supervision.

I laugh every time someone praises Steffy, because JMW's facial expressions are always Steffy soaking it up like it is her due. Like today, when she was going on about how she just wanted Finn to experience the happiness of seeing his parents back together, and Taylor had to, of course, say that it's OK if that doesn't happen, because Steffy provides his happiness. The look on Steffy's face was so "well, that's what I was thinking, but I didn't want to point it out myself."  

I'm the parent of an adult child.. I would be so freaking concerned if my son went on and on about our (me and his father) marriage all the damn time like Steffy does about Ridge and Taylor. Like, OK, they're together now, do you need to gush over it every single time you see them?  It's concerning, honestly.  And the WRP should have some concerns about how wrapped up in their relationship Steffy is, especially when she starts going on about needing to reunite her husband's parents, too. Taylor, there is something seriously not OK about your daughter. You should be concerned instead of wanting to giggle with her over your sex with her father. 

Back when Poppy first showed up, and she, Finn, and Luna were talking about how Poppy lived with them before Luna was born, and the dialogue specifically mentioned that Finn was of college age at the time, I had the wild thought of "oh, shit, is Finn Luna's father?" Because that timeline was kind of aging Finn up a little beyond what most people seem to have thought his general age was. And it was an unnecessary thing to do, unless he needed to be a legal adult when Luna was conceived. Numerous other things along the way had he holding onto that thought. So I feel kind of excited that I picked up on a storyline so far ahead of when the show was ready to play it out. As someone who has a lot of extended family members who are adopted, the whole gist of it is icky, but I like that I called it so early and that it's going to fuck up Steffy's world.

Yes, Taylor, Steffy is such a good wife. Such a good, controlling wife, as long as you follow her rules, mirror her opinions and tell her every day that you worship the ground she walks on. She’s exceptionally great at wifing when she flounces off with the kids every time her vacant eyed puppy piddles on the floor. Of course, the beige one thinks Ridge is a great partner, so what the hell does she know?

Another humble suggestion for illustrious head writer Brad Bell: stop dropping giant anvils on our heads. We get it. Finn is probably Luna’s father. We’re not fucking idiots who need plot twists spoon fed to us. You’ve absolutely killed the suspense and drama with all the awkward conversations you’ve forced characters to deliver, not to mention all the hacky close ups of Finn’s derp face. Just edit in a cartoon arrow flashing next to Finn’s head with “Luna’s Dad!!!” In Comic Sans and be done with it.

If Finn is Luna's father, I want Steffy to go batshit crazy and kill Finn and Poopy.  Then $Bill uses his magical powers to get Steffy out of prison like he did Luna, and Steffy's under house arrest.  She and Luna begin to bond while discussing the joy of murderin'.

Finn will be happy to see Li and Jack together as will Stuffy but that most likely will make Finn and Stuffy very unhappy when Stuffy finds out Luna’s father is Finn.  

 

Stuffy should get down on her knees and kiss Poppy’s feet for teaching Finn how a boy could become a “man” 😜.  The only thing Stuffy taught Finn is a man can’t be a man until he’s complaint to her machinations and pettiness.

And they also had him tell the audience, on behalf of the writers, that he was of age and they aren't blood related.  I'm a little weirded out that they seem to be saying that there was some kind of ongoing romantic interest there. The table is set for Steffy's head to explode more than once in the coming days/weeks. Finding out college Finn hooked up with his aunt, finding out he's Luna's father, finding out that Luna isn't actually in jail, and then finding out that Bill got her out and has been hosting her house arrest. 

Bell needs to go all the way with this. Reveal that Poppy is Finn's true love, and he works with his serial killer daughter to arrange an "accident" for Steffy.

I’d like to ask Bill and Luna to shut the hell up about what a terrible mother Poppy was. For fuck’s sake, show, you’ve pretty much blamed Poppy for her crazy ass daughter murdering two people. It wasn’t that long ago you dipshits introduced Luna with an unconventional but not terrible childhood; now Poppy is a lying, drugged out harlot whose hedonistic lifestyle drove her daughter to murder two men. Just terrible writing.

Luna used to talk to RJ about her relationship with Poppy like they were the freaking Gilmore Girls.  She even credited her mother's bohemian lifestyle for her own interest in fashion because Poppy always filled their home with art and music.  There was never a hint of an unhappy childhood, so I wonder if Luna is rewriting her own history to play on Bill's emotions.  It shouldn't be working, though, because Bill is not easily played.

Where is RJ, anyway?   It might be interesting to see where he lands in the FC battle.

Is it just me or was the dialogue & acting today particularly awful?  Same repetitive, dopey convos from $Bill & Luna, Hope & Carter, and Daphne LePew & Steffy.

And Finn, ya nitwit, why are ya asking Poopy who Luna’s father is?  She’s clearly lying, with those guilty looks on her mug.  Why don’t ya do a paternity test, dummy?

I cannot take another day of Bill sitting around his house talking to Luna about their awful childhoods. What bullshit! Poppi was good to Luna. How dare Bill act like he came to his senses regarding Poppi? She was nothing but good to him! It’s Luna who is the awful nut job that should be locked up. She murdered two men! Now she wants to know who her father is? Are all these horrible scenes leading up to a Bill/Luna hookup? MAKE IT STOP.

If Carter and Hope can smell Pepe Le Pew before she even walks in the room, she is wearing too much perfume!
