xwordfanatik August 14, 2017 Share August 14, 2017 Bleeding the beast. Plyg for living off the mean ol' gov'mint that won't legalize their "marriages." It seems the Browns were no different in that respect, than the FLDS compounds that wear braids and prairie dresses, and have a zillion kids. 3 Link to comment

They don't WANT the government to legalize their marriages because then they can't bleed the beast. They just want their spiritual marriages decriminalized, meaning they don't want laws that make spiritual marriages or living with multiple woman as wives, illegal. They don't want to be prosecuted for having a spiritual marriage. Utah and Arizona have already agreed not to do that despite having those laws. The Browns know that but continue to bleat about it on their shit show. 7 Link to comment

How much would daycare have cost her? Oh how cute. Hold on to your pearls ladies (and your hats, gents) because Rainflower is going in: Wow wow wow. I thought she was taking care of her children, not sitting on her butt. Apparently, a mother cannot care for her kids and work at the same time. I am a stay at home mom with two young ones. I don't spend my ENTIRE day watching or teaching them. But here goes nothing: 1. First off, my comment was in regard to her being on government assistance. Though I do want to revise my comment. She wasn't on her butt. She was spread eagle and was impregnated before she slithered her scared "married" polygamous behind to the government assistance office. 2. I am from a Catholic area. People in those parts had (and are still having) large families. So I know people who are from both single and two parents home who work their behinds off, pay their taxes and never been on government assistance or file for bankruptcy. How much could she have made? Well, the world will never know, now will we? It seems to me that you don't know ANYONE who have children, don't have a university degree but was able to find a job. It is IMPOSSIBLE for such a person to exist. Christine, along with the rest of us, live in the technology age. She could have sold things on Ebay, Amazon, started her own business. There were/are freelancing sites, etc. She didn't have or need to leave her home. I am sure the younger kids took a nap and the older kids could have done something on their own while she worked online. Online wasn't her thing? She and her family could have considered jobs that revolved around their kids' lives so that someone would always be home with the kids. There were FOUR adults. I seen families with only TWO parents do something like this. There were a ton of things FOUR adults who all consider themselves family, living under ONE roof could have done to earn money. However, it was easier for them to just file bankruptcies and get Christine to go on government assistance. So yes, I will call it being lazy. How much would daycare have cost her? Little to nothing. Again, the Brown family have the advantage of FOUR (and later FIVE) adults. That means there are around 8+ grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. If the extended family did not want to or could not watch the Brown kids, the adults could have worked in shifts. Or planned their family better. Did Janelle and Christine really need all those kids? If they wanted all those kids, why didn't they work and save up BEFORE popping them out? Couldn't do it before, why not space the pregnancy out further apart. So come again? Tell me how freaking hard it is to be Christine. A SAHM with a WORKING husband and 2-3 WORKING sister wives while there are hundreds, if not thousands of single parents and couples who are working their asses off every freaking day, pay their taxes, and don't or cannot get government assistance. 10 Link to comment
Kohola3 August 15, 2017 Share August 15, 2017 Again, Rainflower, right on. And since she fancies herself the Earth Goddess Mother Type, open a day care for the rest of the poly families around. lettsjetts August 15, 2017 Share August 15, 2017 Thank you Rainflower for this post! I am a stay at home mom right now but I promise you that if our financial situation changed I would be looking for work immediately. Government assistance is meant to help those in emergencies get themselves back on track, shame on the Brown family for taking advantage. 3 Link to comment
xwordfanatik August 15, 2017 Share August 15, 2017 Yes, I agree, @Rainflower, Mr. Xword and I worked opposite shifts for years so one of us would be home for our daughter. We had blue collar jobs that sucked, but we were self-supporting, and we weren't dependent on babysitters, since our parents lived over 100 miles away. There are many, many couples that do what we did, and many, many single parents that provide for their kids without public assistance or bankruptcies. It gave our daughter a solid work ethic, and she worked from high school through college, to support herself, and we were happy to help with costs when needed. The Brown kids so far have shown way more promise than the parents. I hope it continues. 7 Link to comment
andromeda331 August 15, 2017 Share August 15, 2017 (edited) So much of her life are stories she made up and that is just so bizarre. I also question how much Christine was actually watching the kids too. Yes, they show us a little in the first episode I think. But for a stay at home mom to all the kids, she wasn't making breakfast for Janelle's kids. Logan, one of the actual kids had to get up early and make breakfast for his kids until viewers questioned it and then suddenly Christine was the one making breakfast. Why wasn't she doing that from the beginning since she was the stay at home Mom? Why does it seem like Logan and Aspyn were the ones doing most of the work taking care of the kids if they had a stay at home mom? Why did Christine need to move her mom into help? Her kids are either in college or in school she shouldn't need any help. I almost forgot Christine also has said that she wanted to be the third wife. Convenient that the one who "wanted the family" picked out the third wife. Not a first wife or a second wife. She was betting on being the last wife. She'd get all of the fun of being the newest, last wife. Edited August 16, 2017 by andromeda331 I almost forgot 4 Link to comment

Polygamy is often seen as a patriarchy and bad for women. Janelle: Patriarchy has a very negative connotation for me. It's true that Kody is the glue that holds us together, but I definitely have my voice. I feel very liberated. I have a career, my independence and freedom. I've never had to stay at home with sick kids or worry too much about what's for dinner. I can have my cake, and eat it too. Meri: I agree. I've become so independent in some ways. Christine, a homemaker: I feel our family is very patriarchal, but it's exactly what I wanted. I just want to be a princess in life. 3 Link to comment
