From the start I thought "he/she's not Catholic" basted on a couple of things. I know not *all* Catholics are alike but I grew up Catholic in a county that's mainly Catholic, so my observations are based on that. First, most Catholics I've known do not call the weekly service "church." They say "Mass." Also, Catholics do not tend to be Bible quoters. 

 

Again, I'm not saying "All Catholics" I'm just saying based on my 46 years of experience. And it's odd that JO chose to make him Catholic if she's not. 

 

I grew up as an Episcopalian around a lot of Roman Catholics and I agree with you 100%.  I personally think she made "Sam" a Catholic just to accentuate the differences between her and him in her own mind as well as anyone who's reading her.  Just like he's a globe trotting executive and she's well, I can't find a better phrase for her than low class slug and troll.....

Look at lil' M.Night Overton with her bag of tricks.  Jackie will reveal herself to be Sam, Lindsey, the young friend with the polygamist background, and probably all the other characters that interacted (mind-fucked) with Meri over the summer --- perhaps even Meri herself.

 

Did anyone ever see that terrible thriller with John Cusack and Amanda Peet called 'Identity'?  I don't want to spoil the ending for those who might watch it on a Netflix Lazy Sunday --- but that's what JO's book reminded me of.

Terribly good thriller with John Cusack, I'm sure you meant to say, because CAMPY, plus actually tense, with a fun twist and an ending that's awful and great...but I'm as big a fan of quirky films as I am of snarky internet forums. :D

I just read that this is the third PayPal account? WTH. I'm guessing the first PayPal account was in JO's name. Someone caught on and she quickly deleted that one. The second one was probably in a fake name and PayPal wouldn't allow it. The third one is most likely in a family member's name.

Honestly, if it was on Kindle, I might be tempted to buy it, just to read whatever outrageous fiction JO could spin.  I would even recap it here for y'all.  But there is no way I would buy it through one of his 17 PayPal accounts!

It’s an ebook first, because I am a first time author who clearly doesn’t know what he is doing. My publisher is hands off for the most part. They advise me but it’s mostly all about the money. My editor is M.I.A. I have had zero contact with her or heard from her in a short while so I don’t know if she is laughing so hard at my book that she disappeared off the face of the Earth, or she is stunned by my brilliance she can not find the words to describe how well I did?

Thank you--gah, the relief of not having to all-caps that myself. What a dumb ox she is. If you "have a publisher" then you have a publishing contract with someone who actually, you know, publishes books. Also, (if you're reading this, Jackie, you scheming dimwit) every ebook you see on Amazon was either published by a publishing company, or was self published without a publisher. Ebooks are not the low-caste stepchildren of "real" books--they are simply the electronic version of the paper and glue book. Do you think the ebook of Stephen King's new book Bazaar of Bad Dreams was some crappy, bumbled version of the "real" book? Good god.

Publishers don't do "hands off" yet also advise. And if you actually conned someone into editing this mess with you, of course she or he has gone AWOL--with blog posts as bad as these, god alone knows what your [shudder] book must be like.

 I'm baffled by all of this. Imaginary friends, dogs, girlfriends, businesses, houses, planes (older ones, of course), sponsoring and educating a child, attorneys, editors, possible adoptions, Paypal accounts, commenters on her blog and now..orders for her book.  What could happen to a person to cause them to live like that?

I just read it and here's my take - I don't believe this exchange for a minute.  Kendra mentions Sam and Lindsay like they really exist.  Does Kendra really believe that Sam and Lindsay are two separate people and really exist like she refers to them here?  That may be the case which would explain why she's responding to "Meri" that way.  Also, why would JO have a copy of this exchange if it's for real?  I think Kendra was in an exchange with catfish JO, probably unknowingly.  JO was posing as Meri, and opened an account with her name and IM-ed Kendra with it.  It looks like this woman knows all about identity theft.  She probably IM-ed Kendra posing as Meri knowing that Kendra would buy it and would not want to have anything to do with Meri and tell her those things.

"Sam's" latest blog entry reveals that on top of his many achievements, he is also a pilot, and because the weather has been so bad in Chicago, he decided to wait to fly to Vegas, so I guess JO isn't killing him off yet.

Other highlights:

- "Sam" took 19 people (the Duggars?) to NC for Christmas.

- He has 4700 pre-orders for his book.

- He has a new lady-love (sorry, ladies! A hot commodity like "Sam" doesn't stay single for long!)

While looking for the model I remembered from before, I came across a tweet from someone who said that her brother's friend was one of JO's victims. She used a photo sent to her by the brother's friend where he met a now 29-year-old musician named Shaant Hacikyan out on the street, and had his photo taken with him. A few years ago Shaant had short hair, and she used some of his photos to catfish women, and apparently one or two was posted on her batman twitter, but was recognized as Shaant. I remember when "Sam" first started tweeting her it seemed clear that he was roping her in. He was talking about his girlfriend, but not linking to her. CJ said on her blog, something along the lines of, " I bet they break up soon" and I thought, yep. No one deserves to be manipulated like she was, but seeing the tweets to her informing her that he was not real, and her ignoring them make it a little hard to feel very bad for her. His entire story didn't make sense and she had to ignore an awful lot to keep going along with it.

 

ETA: I realize that Meri was groomed by a predator, and that causes you to overlook some obvious signs that something is wrong, but she was literally being smacked in the face by people on twitter and ignored it. They are so busy blocking anyone that posts anything other than love ya's that she probably just ignored them.
