Everyone looked at me like I was a goddamn lunatic when I kept insisting they'd said he wanted to be a doctor or had gone off to med school like nine years ago, but time and fate bore me out! I'm still 75% sure I didn't imagine it!

Same here! It was during that time I was paying attention to the show on a much greater basis. Lucas can become the doctor that treats everything and everybody when Easton leaves.

Patrick and Sam will announce the joyous news that they are expecting twin boys...... and then Robin walks in.

....at which time he will immediately begin to refer to them as 'those babies'.

And as Patrick and Sam drive home from one of Emma's endless recitals (ballet/piano/dance/gymnastics, etc) a terrible car accident will ensue, whereupon Sam will lose those babies so that Patrick can be torn between true love Robin and Sam of the long dark hair, who has had "lots of sex". Emma will lament that she has lost 2 more "almost" baby brothers, known as "ShamooA and ShamooB" at the hospital where Patrick  has carried them after delivering them.

At the rate the show is going next years Ball will in the prison yard where most of the cast is, so I guess we'll be getting Richard Simmons back for a workout-themed music video.

Sad news for the throngs of GH fans who have been storming the execs, begging them to Bring Sexy Back. In the past year, Richard's friends have been turned away by his housekeeper as he stays cooped up in his home in misery, eating and crying in a deep depression. He has been told that he needs a second knee operation, and is dreading it very much. He does not go into his exercise studio or appear. His first knee operation was apparently quite painful. He admits he has "issues" and is trying to face the problems. http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2014/11/14/richard-simmons-speaks-out-after-reports-is-depressed/

Despite waking up alone, I woke up with the biggest smile on my face this morning because after three nightmarish years of bizarre line readings and inappropriate facial expressions, KRISTEN ALDERSON IS LEAVING GENERAL HOSPITAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If we get an annoucement that Michelle Stafford and Roger Howarth are leaving too, ill do the Chandler Bing dance all the way down my street.

Heh, a story about her leaving was even the top story in my Yahoo News Alert for the day.

I've had little good to say about the show lately, but I will acknowledge that Jackie Zeman was back in good form, performance-wise, in her scenes with Michael at the Spencer family home.  They let her be a grown up instead of the middle-school rival of Lucy Coe, and Jackie expertly handled them.  To date, she's the brightest part of this Fluke storyline.  Hopefully Tony shakes off the urge to engage in experimental art and infuses some realism and grounded emotion into his scenes.

Aw I had no idea about Richard when I made the comment. That's terrible because it seems like a serious depression disorder beyond surgery fear probably. I hope, for his sake, he can get better.

I want to keep Silas and Ava. I'm a terrible person.

I'll be half-terrible with you, Grrpants. Ava can stay.

Count me in on the half-terrible team. Bye Silas, you human Ambien. Ava's what brought me back to this show, it was boring as hell. And here she isn't onscreen, and I'm incredibly bored again. The last two episodes I literally fell asleep watching. I got annoyed that I had to sit through the dreck twice. I don't care about Fluke, and who he is. And even though Luke is gross and disgusting, I cannot watch him being held in that basement strapped to that chair another minute. It's just more levels of gross and disgusting when you actually force yourself to think about it.

Along with Dante and Nathan being gross (they ended up making me root for Johnny, so that plan backfired on me), Carly being gross with Jake, and the rest being a boring comafest, I don't know what is keeping me watching at the moment.

Rumors out that KA refused to take a pay cut, so she took a hike. Excuse me while I LMAO.

I assume she was being paid in Tater Tots, so it surprises me that at the very least they couldn't have guaranteed her the ones that were left over at the end of each day's shooting.  Because I just can't believe KA was ever actually paid in money for what she did.

She's lucky they didn't ask for a refund due to non-delivery of contracted services.

If true, I'm glad she believes she's worth more than they offered. Hopefully she will make her point by studying and finding employment in an entirely different field.

But didn't they give KA an Emmy recently for her talented performances? That's why she might have refused a pay cut, feeling that she is Prime Grade A and would not be fired.

An Emmy, People............................why?

BTW, AXS entertainment news reports that "Chad Duell (Michael),Kristen's boyfriend, tweeted that she is leaving by choice. A GH rep is said to have confirmed Digest's report [she was fired] but had no further comment."

No more murdering of characters. Recast or have Kiki leave town. She has every reason to go (mother's in jail, she's made a huge mess of her relationships, misses NYC, etc) - just have her go when Michael gets control of Avery (they've already started building the foundation for this storyline - which would be perfect - Michael adopts Avery forcing Sonny to sign away his parental rights... no meat hook needed although that wouldn't be a bad thing). I dont have the disdain for the character or the actress that most seem to, but I won't miss Kiki either.

Roger should go - Franco just has nowhere left to go. Silas should stay, there's still some more for him to do especially since he's a doctor and "Hospital" is in the name of the show. Yes, Lucas should be working as a doctor (and yes yes yes please stop the references to Golden Girls already... does Ron get some sort of royalty check for every mention?). Speaking of which.. shouldn't Lucas and Bobbie be nostalgic about the Brownstone.. this is supposed to be a revival of the Brownstone that they lived in in the 90s, right?

Congrats to the props and sets department who recreated Johnny's apartment so well. Love Michael's office - it seems to be nicer/bigger/lighter than when it was AJs office.

I don't know how I feel about the Fluke/Patricia/Luke stuff. On one hand, if there's any way that Patricia is Fluke then how on Earth does Tracey not know (they have both made many references to sex esp last spring). Wouldn't she notice that er um something was missing? Other than that piece, it would sort of kind of work but I'm pretty sure that daytime (and ABC) is not going to go in the direciton of a deranged lesbian transgender character. Since we haven't ever heard of Patricia up until this past week, it's hard for me to care about her and the Spencer backstory esp since realLuke has been missing as a regular characer for about a year and a half and Bobbie has been on sporadically at best.  And frankly I only care about Bill Eckert to the degree that it's at least not a mask - but the Eckert story is over 20 years old and no one he was attached to is on the show - they couldn't even be bothered to show us Jenny (his sister and a major character back in the day) and Sly (his son, who really should have been the Australian whatshisname that was involved with Maxie - see there are perks to getting older, I've forgotten useless characters that I hated).

I want to love this show but the show seems to be actively resisting being loved. This is a type of soap writing/producing that I will never understand but seems to be rampant in the 21st century (see also Dena Higley, Chuck Pratt, Bob Guza).

I can see RH staying longer even as Franco because he and MS work well together, Scotty and Heather: The Next Generation. Also for all the rumors of MS wanting to return to Y&R GT has done a great job as a recast there unless she wants to leave.  OTOH ME really has nothing except that he's a doctor with patients we never see because the show made him a doctor in a very specialized field.

No, they made him a doctor period. Lots of people get cancer. It is almost go to storyline for emmy bait.

What was wrong with Sly? I thought he was a nice kid and enjoyed him with Lucky. It seemed to be the concensus that he was the least annoying member of that family. If the show isn't going to bring Lucky back, even as a recast, I think cousin Sly could partially fill the void. Maybe Mark Lawson could be him.

Silas is an oncologist, and the other doctors are also specialists: Britt was an OB/GYN, Patrick is a brain surgeon, Monica is a heart surgeon, Robin is a brain researcher, etc. But of course, all the docs seem to be able to do everything when the plot demands it: Sirhan Surgeon was a plastic surgeon/uterus fixer/sniper.

She meant that Sly should have been Levi, who she hated (frankly, I wouldn't have wished that fate on poor Sly, but that's beside the point).

Years ago they used to do Karaoke nights at Jake's and JT and KMc sang "Time of My Life". It was a cute and fun scene.

Here's the clip of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdKK3WzWiSk

That was really adorable.  But it makes me sad given what Ron has done to Robin, Patrick, and Coleman.

Anyway, it was nice to see a three-plus minute scene, no one mugging for the camera, and everyone having fun!  Well everyone except for Spinelli, apparently, who looked especially ugly with that haircut.  Yikes.

I loved the karaoke nights segments. Those were just fun times, and it's always fun seeing who will break character. This one was especially cute, (JMB really liked it), the only thing messing it up was that atrocious Auburn banner hanging up. Suck it, War Eagle on staff.

I miss the karaoke night stuff. I'd bring that back. That's a way to have fun and get people together for normal social stuff without it being some outlandish event. Unfortunately, I feel confident Ron would have Obrecht, Franco or Nina crash every one. (Spencer, too, but Spencer at least has a reason to be there and could outqueen both of the kid Morgans).

She received that Emmy for playing Starr and, IMO, it was a nod to the many years she played that part more than anything else.

I remember a while back, when he came over to meet Bobbie, Brad and Lucas mentioned going to trivia night.  That could be a fun, modern social event.  You could have Brad, Lucas, Maxie, and Nathan all go as a team.

I can't even imagine what Ron would have that poor little boy sing.

I can see Ron having the kiddie quad singing the Christina/Lil Kim/Mya/Pink "Lady Marmalade"  with Dr. O acting as their Missy Elliot.

You could tell the cast genuinely enjoyed that, and it was one of the few times when we saw most of the characters together. It was also one of the few times when nothing else happened—everyone just had a good time.

Only if there are no categories involving The Golden Girls and Knots Landing.

If Britt was still around (thank Jasus she's not), he'd no doubt dedicate a rendition of "Let's Get It On" to his father and Britt.

Thanks.. I'm not a 'she', I'm a 'he' btw but that's besides the point. :)

I think I got the Sly/Levi connection was that there was some spec at the time that Levi appeared around the time that Fluke did and there was some talk of connection. Since Fluke was considered to be Bill Eckert even back then, Sly being Levi was floated. It got more traction when he revealed that he was American and faking the accent. Then, there was the reveal that he was the son of an old obscure beau of Felicia.... and well, whatever that turned out to be was what it turned out to be (I'm sure we haven't seen the last of deranged Levi because all he had was a stab wound. Even if you're shot through the heart as Helena was, you don't die. It makes me think of that Soapdish line - "He doesn't have a HEAD!")

But if RC didn't take the opportunity to show us Sly on the phone now, its doubtful that he'll show up in relation to this story - which he should so that at the very least he can refute Bobbie's retconning of his history (Bill and Sly had a great relationship and never beat him.. ridiculous rewrite and unecessary if Sly isn't showing up to play that fallout once Bill is revealed).

I think they were casting for Sly at one point last year, but I believe that was when they didn't know Tony would be gone so long. There's a whole lot of shit we were apparently supposed to see last year that we didn't (or we all got trolled by someone, which is a definite possibility). Since I still think this is Bill, I still don't expect this story to end without seeing either Sly, Jenny or both.

I think GH has ruined me for life. I was reading EW Golden Globes recap and I swear I though it read "The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is handing out the barware". I had to reread that sentence twice before I realized it it was hardware and not barware. Thank you Sonny Corinthos!

KA leaving is the best news ever. Lord I hope Silas follows magical Mary Sue Kiki out the door.

I agree with this 110%.  The part of the cast connected to the hospital needs beefing up, not cutting down.

Michael has denounced all things Corinthos. That means Avery too. He doesn't get to have it both ways. He has no ties to her and is not related to her at all. He certainly does not need to have "control" over her, whatever that means.

I hope they stick to Michael taking the Q name and legacy, but I am not betting on it. Every single scene where it's discussed ends on Michael dithering, deliberating or looking constipated as someone asks him if he has regrets, and he never gets to answer. That is a red flag in Ron's writing. The way the show seems to be playing it really fucking disgusts me, because it seems like it's a setup for him saying "I can't do it - I am Sonny and Carly's son after all!"
