Nizoral anti-dandruff shampoo. The ad says it's "ten percent better". Period. That's it, ten percent better. Ten percent better than what? Not using it? Using another shampoo like Head & Shoulders? Makes no sense whatsoever.

Whenever I see those "4Print for certain!" commercials, I always wonder if anyone really gets excited about receiving objects with your employer's name and logo on it.

A smash burger is a thin beef patty cooked on a super-hot griddle.

But the beef patties in the photos are thick!

That could apply to so many claims made in commercials.

Less fat! Less sugar! The healthier option!

This reminds me of a Dr. Pepper commercial from a few years back, where the slogan was, 'Diet Dr. Pepper; it tastes more like regular Dr. Pepper.' Than what??? Nuclear waste?

I hate this.  Commercials, news reports, talk show hosts, whatever - this kind of meaningless comparison is used constantly and drives me crazy.

Laura Geller makeup commercial with gal bragging about how light and natural it is - it sure looks heavily caked on and gives her a shiny face to me. Sure wouldn't entice me to buy any of this.

I thought it evened out her skin tone nicely without looking caked on.  It actually makes me very curious about the product, which is what a good commercial should do.

I'm currently travelling in Europe and I have to say there are a lot of TV ads that are making me scratch my head.  Half the time I have no clue what they're trying to sell.  Takes one to know one?

I always assume that if I don't understand the commercial, I am not the demographic they are aiming at. If you don't know, it's not for you

I use this. It is light. Much more so than liquid foundations.

Except sometimes when you finally figure out what they're selling, it IS for you and the commercial is just bad.

I don't understand the Pop Tarts commercial with the girl who's eating a Pop Tart while she's waiting for a bus. When she boards the bus, the only passengers are anthropomorphic pop tarts.

It's a warning.  Those damn Pop Tarts need to learn to behave.

Why is Liz Chaney berating and harranging her husband (there's no way he's an actor!) to call about some kind of Medicare supplement?

I don't think you'd take it well if a poptart walked onto your bus chowing down on a human leg!

Please explain the Kerrygold commercial with the table

I came here for that very explanation.  Is the kid mad because no one pays attention to him and he gets rid of the table and then they all go looking for it and become a family again?  What does that have to do with butter?  I already like butter.  No need to sell it to me

Maybe the table is possessed by a demon and the kid is trying to get rid of it before it kills the whole family but it keeps coming back.  I'd watch that movie.

This isn't about a specific commercial, but has anyone else noticed the soft-speak being used in commercials? sometimes mixed with vocal fry. The best examples I can think of are the Saatva mattresses, and the Jolie shower head, but other commercials use it too. It sounds like it's supposed to be soothing and comforting so, naturally, I find it annoying

the Jolie shower head

Oh that one! We care about the water we drink so we should similarly care about the water we pour over our head! I'm sorry, this is just a bridge too far. Curated water for my skin LOL. I don't even know what this magic shower head does but I think it's silly.

ok, I'm a space nerd. I admit it. But this ad has the direction of the sun chasing across the globe completely backwards! It rises earlier in the east than the west, people! (Judy Justice with good old Judge Judy)

https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=3829875663924431

Maybe they've watched too much Jeopardy!  The show used to open with a spinning sphere with the word "Jeopardy!" on it, spinning right to left, so the word would appear with the "J" first, not the "!".  They got so many "corrections" to their globe, Alex had to explain at the beginning of one show that it's NOT a globe representing earth. It's just a rotating sphere.  Leave it to J! watchers to know how the earth spins.

Did the soccer team do something mean to this girl that prompted her to seek revenge by giving them shower water in disgusting dirty cups, or is she just weird?  (And apparently everyone is supposed to want this car simply because it has lots of cup holders, at least according to the ad description.)

The shower water doesn't bother me -- it's the same water that comes out of your kitchen faucet, after all -- but if she's not washing those cups before filling them with shower water, that's a problem!

Does anyone remember a weird Skittles commercial featuring newlyweds on their honeymoon and ending with the groom ejaculating Skittles all over his bride?

Either that was quite a wild dream you had there or you've been visiting those weird type of websites that might show such a thing. 😉

You sure did find it but as it says, it's not a real ad, if only it had been shown on tv though. I can just imagine all the religious fundamentalists exploding in front of their tvs.

But thanks for that, I needed a laugh & that was outstanding.

There's a new Comcast commercial in the therapist campaign with two parents bemoaning their son spending time with them instead of playing videogames on his slow connection. In fact, they're telling their friends he's going to college and he interrupts then to announce that he's decided to stay home. Exactly how would getting better Internet speed help this situation?

There's an ad for a weight loss drug. People are going about their business, then see others walking down the street, so they stop what they're doing and walk down the street, too. Why? Where are they going? What are they going to do when they get there? How do they know what the walkers are doing and if it's something they want to join?

Why does the narrator on the (crooked) Robinhood financial telling us that the filthy rich will panic when they discover we can get good (4%) rates on our accounts, too? I've seen those rates for quite awhile and in fact, have an account or two with those rates.

Crooked in what way?

Robinhood Financial had to pay $70M for ripping people off with their stock trade app. There was a huge story about five years ago about them rigging stock trades for Game Stop.

The new Chanel commercial with Margo Robbe and some guy, they are missing each other going to the other's house, Margo has a look on her face like she has lost her mind as she stands in front of her beloved's house and discovers he is not at home...her hair is a mess and she has a look on face like she is deranged so she goes for a swim which makes it all better.

Chanel could have made this stunning.

The guy is Jacob Elordi, who's set to be Heathcliff to her Catherine in Emerald Fennell's version of Wuthering Heights.  Maybe the commercial is riffing on WH in some demented way?  Doesn't make it any more sensical, though.

I don't think she looks 'deranged', although, they should have shot a take when it was less windy. The swimming part is still a head-scratcher, though:

Is that the one with the song "This is Me"?  I have seen one using that song.  It bugs me because that song is about being OK with who you are.

I get that being overweight isn't healthy, but it still bugs me.

But surely if they're taking weight loss drugs they're not okay with who they are?
