I like the Special K commercial with the tiny Asian woman living her life, being strong and self-sufficient because she eats her healthy cereal. It's odd because it's a grey-toned ad that at first I thought was going to be a PSA for some religion or a Life Alert kind of service, but instead, it's, "Eat this and you will be able to live life." I'm impressed.

Not really, though.  I remember the puppy monkey baby, but I have absolutely no idea what the ad was for.

Exactly.  I remember the horrifying creature but couldn't tell you what that commercial was supposed to be selling if my life depended on it.  The Seal as a seal commercial, however, I'll never forget that it's a Mountain Dew ad.

There was a report on the network national news tonight about kayaker who was “swallowed” (then immediately spit out) by a humpback whale. (Somehow it got caught on video.)  Followed directly by a Pacific Life commercial featuring mother and child humpback whales. Best product placement ever!

That's interesting because just a few days ago I watched an episode of "History's Most Shocking" on the History Channel and it featured a video of 2 women whale spotters that were swallowed by a whale accidentally and were spit out. It happened on a whale spotting expedition where people went out in small boats to get up close to the whales, I forget where. Interesting coincidence!

I guess we don't taste good to whales if they keep spitting us out, must not like pork either then.

It's actually that hump back whales' mouths and throats are not designed to be able to swallow or break down humans or any large creature so that's why they spit us out. They feed on small fish that swim in huge schools. It's only when humans get close to them when they're feeding on those fish that they accidently get scooped up along with them. I learned that from watching that show.

And that's the problem with the internet & texting. I guess I should have put a laughing emoji at the end because in my mind it was funny & meant as a joke as there's not many pigs in the ocean.

But thank you for the whale lesson.

LOL, you're welcome. But knowing me, I probably would have given it to you anyway. 😉

Don't care about the vehicle, but love the song...which I was really surprised is sung by Elaine Stritch (and not a Latina singer like I originally thought)!

In the last 5 years or so, commercials have been using either late 50s, early 60s rock and roll songs, which I think are either obscure old songs or new songs made to sound like they're from that era. While I have no opinion of that music, I like it in commercials.

Jamie has become quite the badass.

I saw an Instacart commercial last night that was the best one I’ve seen in a while. A couple disagrees on storing ketchup in the pantry vs the fridge. The dialog (husband: “baby, your momma didn’t raise you right”) and punch line (husband orders two bottles on a 2 for 1 Instacart special and labels one “pantry” and the other “fridge”) is funny to me. It’s only 30 seconds but the actors have a playful chemistry.

That's always been my stock answer to the debate over what to put in the fridge vs what stays at room temp: Buy two. You do you and your partner does them (sorry for grammar!). Isn't that cheaper in the long run than just a pesky annoyance that irritates and irritates?

Same goes for toothpaste tubes. One gets squeezed from the end and the other is squeezed in the middle.

I enjoy the ad for the Granite Stone cookware set.  The voiceover asks if you are tired of yelling at your pans, and a woman promptly puts her hands on her head and lets out a dramatic scream (but not so loud that it would startle anyone that had the TV on as background noise).  It is wonderful infomercial-level acting.  Later, after she has bought the Granite Stone, she has a different hairstyle, perhaps to show that she isn't as frazzled now.  When the voiceover is pointing out the virtues of non-stick cookware, she helpfully takes a cookie sheet out of the oven and makes all the cookies flip in the air to demonstrate.  Plus, it has the requisite visual of a little honking truck to indicate free shipping, because of course no one would otherwise understand such a "difficult" concept.  This ad always makes me laugh and is a relief from the generic Viagra ad that usually airs for the entire ad break late at night.

What cracks me up is them pulling pans out of a presumably hot oven with their bare hands. Then there is a stock pot they take out of the oven with a cooked chicken half in the pot, feet up, with carrots stuck around it. 🤣 There is another company with the same products. I forget the name, but both are owned by the same company.

I love the first time home buyers in Progressive commercial with Mara. It's just so accurate. Excited over buying your first home and then all the stuff you have to do to maintain the house sinks in. The fertilizer guy is right about not putting down too much of it or not enough.

And the other guy was right about the busted water heater.  My brother's broke down and flooded the basement a few months ago.

There is a commercial for Marco's Pizza where they announce that Marco's won America's Favorite Pizza chain and a guy goes, "Who?!"  That makes me laugh because of his delivery and because that was my reaction to some earlier commercials, as I guessed they were nowhere near me.  From looking at their web site, the closest ones are just 330 miles away!

Yep, totally reminds me of me when I found out there was a leaky spot in my roof which hadn't shown up in the inspection.
