Kandi's Ski Trip

Kandi said that she won the trip at a red carpet event, so she and Bravo likely added the old biddies and the other relatives to make it a family affair to be filmed. The cabin she and Todd and the girls were in was part of the prize and I see no reason why they should have to give it up to those bitches. Like Mama Joyce said, shocking the hell out of all of us, they should have been grateful for a free vacation.

Of course, she's going to be back to her horrific self next week with that bullshit accusation that Carmon and Todd are fucking. I wonder if the bitches' true friends say anything to them about showing their asses on national TV.

I like Matthew and it's very telling the differences in what Todd and Kandi expect in an assistant. It would have been nice if he had drinks and vitamins for the whole group, but he may have wrongly assumed that Carmon and Don Juan (how can he be such a snot with that fucked up name) would take care of the others' needs and he was responsible only for Todd et al. Don Juan and Carmon were invited in part so they can help out, but as always, they have forgotten their places. Don't hate Matthew because he is pleasant and takes his job seriously and is thoughtful. In a few years, after starting out like Todd, he, too, will be producing, while those two dolts will still be trying to live off of Kandi. Looking forward to them being called out because of the contrasts--although i fucking swore I would not watch this damn show.

Not even that long.  You hear her tell the coven not to feel bad when they were complaining about how things have changed with Kandi?  Chile she went from:  that's why I don't fucks with both of em at the same time to:  don't feel bad ya'll Kandi ain't call me since Jesus was a boy.

OLG = Old Lady Gang

So much word to the bolded.  Step your game up.

This is all my TiVo's fault. Bravo has this billed as a RHoA episode and I have a season pass to that.

You can tell Carmon doesn't know what she's doing. Being an executive assistant is a lot of work, and it's skilled work - you have to be incredibly organized. It's very, very clear that Carmon has her job because she's Kandi's friend. Funky Dineva once said that Carmon put up with Joyce's abuse because Kandi pays her more than her skills are worth, and I can absolutely believe that. That kind of lackadaisical attitude she displays would not fly if her boss weren't also her friend. Matthew is clearly Todd's assistant, not his friend, and it shows.

However, I'll be DAMNED if I offer my boss's aunts-in-law a foot rub. No God, honey.

Who jacked up Riley's weave? Why does she even have a weave?

I don't give a good goddamn about the OLG, but I do want to see Todd's family. I'm very curious about them.

She has a weave because her mother doesn't know how to say no. And it's a good thing said mother is rich because it's going to take major bucks for her to keep up some kind of appearance when she's older and her edges are all fucked to hell because she started doing this bullshit at age 11 or 12.

I can't stand seeing weaves on kids and while I'm complaining, I hate seeing little boys with pierced ears. I just came from the dry cleaners and there was a kid who's about 6 or 7 with both fucking ears pierced. That is so low class--in my opinion.

It will be interesting to see the fights Todd and Kandi have if they do have a child because Kandi doesn't know how to set limits and Todd clearly believes in limits, which is why he stopped her from buying out the ski clothes store.

I hear you on the ear piercing and weaves.  It's because these things are so adult, to me.  Ear piercing, hair weaves.  Children should be children, not little adults, besides, weaves are bad for your hair.

I can't imagine being in Kandi's shoes.  It has to be so disappointing to know that your family is nothing but a gang of selfish, greedy narcissists.   How was someone like Kandi produced by that hateful mother of hers?

I agree with those of you who suggested she and Todd move somewhere far, far away from those toxic people.   Keep the new address and phone numbers a secret at all costs.   Let them drown in their own misery while you enjoy your life, Kandi!

Kandi posted a photo of her, Momma Joyce and Baby Dinosaur on her FB page today, asking "Who all's going to be watching tomorrow night?"

There were so many negative comments, she took it down. I wish I'd saved some of them, they were all over the place. Basically telling her that her ungrateful family and her deadbeat friends Don Juan and Carmon were going to milk her dry and lead her to lose her mind.

So far, the Old Lady Gang aunts are winning by a landslide, followed by Don Juan as the most ungrateful guest on the trip.

wait, why is Don Juan there? I thought the trip was for only family members.

Matthew is the best and I don't usually DO Riley, but I loved her sassy self calling out Carmen and Don Juan at that table--hating because Matthew is actually doing his job.

I also liked how Kandi called out Don Juan for all the shit talking he did behind Carmen's back and he looked straight up caught and dumb when he had to admit to what he said.

Lastly, Carmen is a crappy assistant. I think she gets away with doing a crappy job BECAUSE she's Kandi's friend and she knows it. Kandi probably pays her nicely and she gets all the 'perks' and that's why she is willing to take Mama Joyce's abuse. She barely does her job, gets paid, hangs with the rich and famous and benefits from being Kandi's 'assistant'. I don't like her, never have and it all makes sense now.

A twelve year old had to call out Don Juan and Carmon.  They were talking mad ish about Matthew but had the nerve to get bent out of shape when it back fired and turn on to them.  Team Riley!  You go girl!

I like Matthew, he's an excellent assistant.  Carmon and Don Juan can learn a lot from him, instead they hate, because he makes them look bad.  When you go shopping with four senior citizens and suggest Granola for breakfast instead of grits, bacon and eggs and carry floss/mini tooth brushes around you are a special kind of person.  I love it!  If I had the money to hire an assistant, I would want one like Matthew.

Team Matthew - and I usually think Riley is too grown/too stank, but good on her for calling out Carmon and DonJuan. They WERE being rude.

I seriously loved all the shade thrown at Carmon this hour. I loved every minute of it - she had it all coming. Carmon does nothing.

I loved when Kandi said that up until recently, she didn't think Carmon was good at her job - and DonJuan looked, and was, completely busted when she pointed out that he'd been talking shit about what Carmon was NOT doing.

From what I'm hearing, Carmon rolls in late, gets her nails done when she should be working, doesn't do what she's asked, doesn't show any initiative, AND has an attitude. Where they do that at? Fire her, Kandi. (She won't, though according to Don Juan, "she's fired people for less.")

This is from Kandi's public FB page:

My mom said @camcambi & I are like Gail & @Oprah. ‪#‎RealFriendship‬ we've been friends over 28yrs. Yeah, it took a minute for her to get adjusted to the assistant life but having a ride or die friend that has your back a 110% is worth the time it took for her to get adjusted to the job

A minute? Really? You think she's adjusted to the job?

Aunt Nora's voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.  She has the worst voice ever!  It's so scratchy and screechy!  I cringe every time she opens her mouth.  >8-(

Don Boring and Carmon are the worst assistants ever.  Why pick on Matthew just because he takes his job seriously and you don't?  And Don Boring needs to shut up with all of the, "My people don't do that" bullshit.  Why don't you try something new asshole and stop pigeonholing our race into the "can't do" group.  You do not speak for all black people you idiot!  I can't stand his arrogant ass!!!

This!

I can't stand Don Juan either; he and Carmon have no respect for Kandi.  Clearly for them this trip is a vacation while for Matthew it's an extension of his duties and he's not just working for Todd he's trying to make sure everyone is straight.  If he gets some activities in that he likes, more power to him, he deserves it for having to put up with Don Juan, Carmon and the Gangsta Grannies.

Weaves done wrong are bad for your hair, but done well (braids aren't tight and you're not trying to rock 40" and 10 lbs of hair) and properly maintained can be a protective style. They've helped me transition out of relaxers and get length back to "cascadading" pre-creamy crack length and I still have my edges, but I agree they shouldn't be for children. Knowing what I know now, if I had children, I don't even think I would allow a relaxer until a certain age (college plus job for regular maintenance). But done well also means coming off serious coin, which Kandi has, so there's no excuse for Riley's weave.

Carmon and Don Juan would be so fired. I don't see them doing any work to bring in checks and if they are so much more evolved than Matthew, they should've refused the trip because they should be busy working on Kandi's empire. Of course Kandi doesn't know how to communicate her expectations or set rules so I'm not surprised.

Loved seeing Don Juan and Carmon get handed their asses by a child and by Kandi. It was deliciously delightful, especially after their extremely rude and disrespectful display at the table.

This!

It's interesting they made that point that he's "Todd ' assistant", when the first day they were so disdainful that he was only doing special things for the Tuckers.

Carmon just didn't know what she was getting herself into when she asked Kandi if she was good at her job. Lol! She opened up a whole can of worms she just was not ready for. Sitting there with her mouth hanging open in disbelief. And there her comes Don Juan, trying to jump in. Man, you know Kandi; you should have known she was going to put all the shit you said about Carmon out there!

I also loved Todd shutting down both Weenie and Mama Joyce after the game. He was just like, "we're not talking about that right now, let me get back to my point. Thanks."

I thought this was a great episode. Besides all the delightful drama, it was nice to see everyone having fun and trying new things. It was nice of Matthew to volunteer to take the old biddies shopping for the day and to make sure they enjoyed themselves. He's a better person than me. And everyone looked like they were having a blast skiing and snow mobile-ing, as well as when playing charades. I like seeing that stuff.

Kandi can't have a conversation with her mother without crying and getting all bent out of shape, why the hell does she think Carmon having a conversation with her mom will solve anything?  Kandi just seems so blind to how evil and uncaring her mother is.  Joyce isn't the kind of person that can be reasoned with.  If Todd's mom hadn't died, she never would have eeked out the little insincere apology to Todd that she did manage.  Carmon must be all kinds of money hungry to put up with the abuse she has to put up with from Joyce.  I would have told Kandi and her whole family to kiss my ass as I'm leaving a long time ago.

I think as Kandi's employees, Carmon should not have to get along with Joyce, Carmon and Don Juan should not be on a family vacation, unless they are working. Matthew is Todd's employee he should not be escorting these ladies shopping unless he was directed by Todd, not Carmon.

Kandi does not know how to draw boundaries, she expects Carmon and Don to do things as her friends and when she needs an employee, Carmon and Don Juan wants to be her friend and do whatever and however they want to. If Don Juan is the general manager, what was he doing on this trip? Unless he came as a friend or as family, the he should not be expected to do any "work".

And why was Joyce in Todd and Kandi's cabin in the bedroom with the door closed and Kandi had to knock. Kandi with no boundaries, she talks shit about Carmen to  Don Juan then turn around and tell Carmon what Don Juan said to back-up her issue with Carmon. She is still doing the same thing letting Joyce, Weenie and anyone who wants spew crap about Todd, and she doesn't defend Todd, but she will go and tell him what's being said and expect him not to say anything. In order to mend and blend, everybody who should be mending and blending need to want to.

Not take the opportunity to continue to hash over the same bullshit. Todd's Brother,sister-in-law and uncle  had no mending and blending to do.

Funny Kandi had the most "family" there and not one male. They could have kept this shit in Atlanta, so Weenie would not have had to leave her job and use her vacation, to fight, look ugly and miserable.

Does Kandi have anyone in her life who is likable other than Todd? The comments made by Don Juan and Carmen had racial overtones that are offensive. I would be outraged but I think that Matthew is a producer plant. I wouldn't mind seeing him back though because he is fun to watch.

Kandi is such a shit-stirrer. There is no reason for her to bring up Don Juan's comments about scheduling to Carmen. Instead, Kandi should have told her that she needs to do a better job of taking care of the schedule. Carmen and Joyce were not interested in working out their issues. Kandi sends people to deal with her mother so that she doesn't have to.

No more tears, Kandi. You set this situation up yourself.

Kandi is indeed a shit-stirrer, but I have a feeling she brought up Don Juan's comments because she knew Don Juan was there trying to spin it like he didn't understand why everyone was coming down so hard on Carmon's assistant skills.  The look on his face when Kandi walked in the door and asked what they were talking about showed me exactly what kind of bird he is.  At least Carmon came right out and said what they were talking about and what her issue was; Don Juan on the other hand was struggling with what to say and seemed to be trying to figure out what exactly Kandi heard.

This, in addition to her being an all year round, all weather athlete who goes to school away from home is why my daughter has had a weave since she was Riley's age.  She's also lazy enough that even with no games and no practice, she won't do her hair and hates braids enough to remove em before it's time.  It's this or watch her shoulder length hair fall out.  If you have a tween daughter, you already know, that detangling and press and curl day is not fun for all concerned lol.  I can't speak on earrings but just saying in reference to children and hair weave, don't presume it's about accelerating their maturity.  In some cases it has a larger purpose.

Furthermore, why does Carmon need to have a damn conversation with Joyce?  What the hell?  a) for work or for play, you advanced on me with your espadrille in your hand so we don't ever need to have na'an one conversation in life.  ever.    and b)  barring that, what the hell do I need to talk to my boss' mama about?

Todd {speaking at normal decibels}:  I feel like sometimes there's some defensiveness involved when we talk

Weenie {at the beginning of howler monkey screech}:  Well I feel like you getting defensive with me right now.   I took my time out to take my vacation.   On the strength of your cousin's fame comp.    Weenie get your ignant country ass off my tv right now.

Agreed. This is why boundaries are important. Joyce has known Carmon since childhood - but if Carmon is Kandi's employee, that needs to be separate from the family. When Joyce was like "I want to see what Carmon is actually doing," while I loved the shade being thrown there, I was also thinking "Carmon does not work for you; she doesn't need to prove to you what she is or is not doing." Kandi has work and family all jumbled up and it's just not working. (Hence why DonJuan and Carmon think this is a vacation and Matthew sees it as work.)

Also, Joyce took off her shoe in public and tried to hit Carmon with it while threatening to "beat her ass,"  AND left a nasty, abusive message on Carmon's voicemail. As far as I'm concerned, if I'm Carmon, Joyce need not speak to me again, period.

Yes.  She's bitching about a FREEEEEEEE vacation, as if she had to go help somebody move or some shit.  She knows good and well that if it wasn't for this trip, she probably wouldn't have even left Atlanta during her vacation, unless it was to take the OLG to the casinos.  Some people are just fucking ungrateful and never satisfied with anything you give them.

I am usually anti-Riley, but she had me beaming with pride when she called out Carmon and DonJuan about being so rude to Matthew just because he takes his job seriously and does it well. I also was pleased that she and Kaela didn't make a big deal about eating elk. I bet if those two clowns worked for Riley, they'd straighten up or end up in the unemployment line.

You have to ask yourself why DJ and Carmon felt the need to continually remark on Matthew's activities. If they had not felt defensive, why make him a figure of fun? If they just kept quiet, Riley would not have had to say enough already.

It's clear he was shining a white light on their deficiencies. I have asked people with good staff how they found their people and their answer was always the same: "I trained them. For several months." C and DJ are just what you would expect from a scatterbrain like Kandi.

While I agree to some extent, in my opinion you really can't train work ethic. I just don't think Carmon is that motivated - and she doesn't have to be, which she knows. I do think Kandi needs to be clearer about what she expects from Carmon (it seemed like Carmon didn't know she was supposed to buy groceries for the trip), but I also don't think Carmon is that interested in working that hard.

It's not clear to me why Carmon was on the trip. Was it a "vacation" or was she to be assisting Kandi? Kandi is at fault here if that wasn't made clear at the outset. However, I agree that it was more important to Carmon that Matthew be shown to be incompetent than that the members of Kandi's party have enough bacon.

Glad I read through many responses. Those aunts are too, too rude. Kandi is an angel as is Todd. Send them packing home and have a great time with your husband. Both of you deserve a great time alone. Auntie with the cig, put it out! Respect other's lungs!!! I found the show terribly irritating and hard to listen to. Those relatives are all negative and had no plans on having a good time. They need to get a life!
