My point was that Nene said something malicious about Phaedra and Phaedra forgave her for it.  Nene and Phaedra were never friends.  Nene treats all of other woman as if they are beneath her because she is the star of the show IMO.  She will never see them as her equals and surely Phaedra knows that.  Phaedra is willing to give Nene confidant status over Kandi given Nene's history and I find that troubling.

I was speaking to Phaedra talking to Porsha and Nene about her difficulties with Kandi.  She did not need to discuss that with them.  Why would she?  Doesn't she have enough going on with Apollo and the children to discuss with them without throwing Kandi under the bus?

Just because Phaedra is going through difficulties does not give her a pass for treating her good friend like crap.  If she doesn't think Kandi is there for her, then she can call up her so-called good friend and talk to her about it, not discuss it with her so-called good friend's frenemies.  What I have seen from Kandi is that she would not do the same thing if the shoe were on the other foot.  When the other women have asked about Phaedra, she either deflected the question or told them it was none of their business.  IMO, thats a true good friend.

Kandi would not be a good friend if she is having difficulties with Phaedra and Phaedra learned of those difficulties through Kenya.

Ne-Ne also had an ulterior motive.  With Porsha demoted to FOH, she had no allies in the group and she saw an opportunity to wedge herself in with Phaedra.

With regards to Kandi, Phaedra doesn't want to hear the truth.  She'd rather constantly remind everyone how she is the innocent victim, the wrong wife, the brave mother, etc.

Also, Todd is tight with Apollo.  Phaedra likely suspects that Kandi has some dirt on her.  So to get ahead of it, she is trying to portray Kandi as a disloyal friend.

Nene's only motive was to help someone who is going through what she has already gone through.  She already stated she isn't close friends with Phaedra just reached out to a fellow castmate who needed it.

Basically, Phaedra is the victim here.  If only because she didn't choose the right person to be married to.  That doesn't mean she didn't go through hell being married to this man and yes, she was the wronged wife.

I don't think Phaedra has any such feeling about Kandi.  And she didn't trash Kandi at all; she just wondered why Kandi wasn't there for her.  If she wasn't asked directly, she wouldn't have mentioned Kandi at all.

Last night, I watched Watch What Happens Live.  RuPaul was on and he was talking about this episode.  Andy Cohen made a comment about how Nene left therapy and about how icy Phaedra seemed.  RuPaul said that Southern black women carry a lot of hurt and pain inside and it's easier to keep that front than sitting down and letting it all out.  He said that if Nene and Phaedra let all of their emotions out, they would turn into a pile of goo and might not be able to get back together for months.  I think that maybe the same goes for Kandi; she may have a lot of pain, maybe relating to the death of her brother, that she doesn't want to let out.

Kenya, Cynthia and Claudia have been able to parley careers based on their looks.  Though both Kenya and Claudia both have talked about pain in their lives, both of them have been accepted by the larger society.  All three of them have figures that are straight up and down, they're not larger on the the top or the bottom and that body type, being straight up and down, is more acceptable in this society; all you have to do is look at magazines and see that their body types are the most valued.

That was the reason I started to hate on Kenya, when she went after Phaedra's body.  I wished someone had told Kenya that her body type is do to her DNA alone and not because of exercise or diet; Phaedra is larger on the bottom and that's due to DNA as well.  Every time I see Kenya,  I think of that, just like every time I see Claudia I think "teeth and eyes."  Claudia would probably say that was a joke, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's how she really feels.

I have an issue with people like Claudia, on one hand she will let everybody know that she is bi-racial, that she has a white mother, that her father wasn't around.  But she seems to push herself towards black people; working on a black radio station, dating black men, on this version of Housewives.  It's hard to say this without sounding like a hater but I have an issue with people like Claudia who know that there is colorism in the black community and use it to their advantage, and then make those "teeth and eyes" comments.

So nobody's going to talk about how when Kenya was videotaping on the plane, Kandi was trying to hide the container of greasy food she was eating.  She moved as quick as she could to close the lid on that container.  Looked like a mess of chinese food.

The secret has been out Kandi.  The world knows you eat your emotions.

I think I enjoyed the show I laughed a lot.

Phaedra's problem with Cynthia I completely understand. Kenya and Phaedra have a lot of issues and maybe the can work them out to at least be civil.

Cynthia on the other hand, I would never speak to again. Phaedra and Cynthia never had any issues and yet Cynthia (for a storyline) decided to run and tell everyone this bs about chocolate. With everything going on in Phaedra's life. Cynthina is low and to use something like that just to make herself relevant is disgusting. So, I would just ignore her desperate ass.

I think that's more of her being a coward when it comes to confrontation. And, for some people, that's the only way they can deal with things when they have an issue with someone. I think it's a silly way to go about it, especially when they have been close friends in the past. I still can't believe Phaedra is an attorney, who has to go before a judge and witnesses, a jury....and stand her ground and make points in defense of her client. The two personalities don't jive.

Sure they do. And it's probably the same reason she and Kandi were really great friends.  With people Kandi actually cares about (Joyce and Riley) she refuses to actually stand ground and talk logically to them, set boundaries, etc. With Phaedra, with personal issues, she likes to shrug them away and mumble niceties or whatever until the conversation is over.

They're both shit at communication, is what I'm trying to say. But they manage to do it in their professional lives.

So nobody's going to talk about how when Kenya was videotaping on the plane, Kandi was trying to hide the container of greasy food she was eating.  She moved as quick as she could to close the lid on that container.  Looked like a mess of chinese food.

Second point is that although Kandi felt Phaedra said something to Nene about her, Phaedra stated and still contends she only said Kandi hadn't contacted her which was true. She said the same thing to Claudia earlier. She didn't seem to hold a grudge, just wondered why Kandi wasn't there for her when she needed it.

Running around to people Kandi doesn't necessarily like, trust or rock with "wondering why Kandi wasn't there" with them IS holding a grudge. Phaedra knows it; Kandi knows it.

We can't say the following:

Nene was right not to trust Cynthia b/c Cynthia was hanging with Kenya

and

Porsha was right not to trust Claudia b/c Claudia was hanging with Kenya

but then say

Phaedra's not holding a grudge for talking to Nene about Kandi; she was just wondering with Nene & Porsha why Kandi wasn't there.

That's not how it works. That's not how any of this works. If Nene is correct not to trust Cynthia for hanging out with Kenya, and Porsha was right not to trust Claudia b/c she hangs out with Kenya, then Kandi is also correct to give a side eye to Phaedra hanging out with Nene. Kandi could've been a better friend to Phaedra & called her more but perhaps the reason Kandi didn't is because she saw Phaedra cuddling up to Nene.

And drivethroo, check what you just wrote. The common denominator of distrust is...wait for it... KENYA

Kenya has nothing to do with Kandi's distrust of Nene.

except that Kandi should've had no beef with Nene at this point so she wasn't the enemy.  Plus, Phaedra and Nene bonded when they went back to Athens together and Kandi knew this and was OK with it.  It wasn't until she was questioned about being supportive (which she has problems doing in her own marriage) then she had an issue with Nene and drank the Kenyaide.

Were they in first class?  I was surprised that they didn't appear to be.  And Kandi is THAT PERSON who brings nasty ass reeking food onto a plane - a 20 hr flight no less!  I love McDonalds but cringe whenever someone bustles onto the plane with a bag because it doesn't smell good recirculated for the next hours.

I totally enjoyed the girls getting along and being playful, and it seemed genuine to me.  Hmmm, what was missing that resulted in fun being had by all...

Cynthia on the other hand, I would never speak to again. Phaedra and Cynthia never had any issues and yet Cynthia (for a storyline)

Phaedra was right not to accept Cynthia's fake ass apology.

Cynthia's "apology" was the  "you are grown, how you live your life bullshit", it is saying "okay you are having an affair and we shouldn't judge you".

That is not what pissed Phaedra off. She is pissed because Cynthia repeated something she claimed she heard.

Her apology should have been:   I'm sorry I repeated shit I heard, not whether it was true or not, just that I repeated it to people who care even less about you than I do.

Just as I did with Kandi. I should have learned something when I did the same thing to Kandi and she threaten to "drag me in this bitch."  maybe if you really "drag me through this bitch" I will learn my lesson  and never repeat shit I hear and then embellish upon that shit, because I think its gonna make me less desperate to be  pretty and still appear to act and  sound like a mean girl."

Phaedra probably would have accepted this because she would know it's  true.

B) learn to take the high road and admit you were married to a con man who lies.

How come Kenya can't take the high road and admit she started it by implying it was more than what it was? Also when is Kenya going to apologize for saying Phaedra is/was having an affair with Chocolate. Kenya would do well to STFU about apologies she's owed as all it does is make the audience remember all the shit she's pulled.

Running around to people Kandi doesn't necessarily like, trust or rock with "wondering why Kandi wasn't there"

She's not "running around" to anyone. The people without storylines keep trying to get info and therefore keep asking. All she's said is they aren't on the same page or she hasn't talked to her.

a very un-Christian-like attitude, and B) learn to take the high road and admit you were married to a con man who lies.

Being a Christian does not make you any less human, with any less anger,or any less hurt.

Kenya behaved less like the innocent person she is now claiming to me, she openly flirted with Apollo in front of Phaedra and everyone who watched HW. She brought up the texting, not in private with Phaedra, she brought it up when she did to embarass Phaedra, Then had to admit she  text him back with "hey babe" when Kandi saw the text, who knows what she erased.  I'm betting she didn't expect Kandi to see the hey babe text. She tried to get Apollo to go against his wife in this workout video deal.

The fact that Apollo lied about his business dealing would not be suspect that he lied about Kenya.

Kenya can apologize all she wants,  she KNEW  what was up, she KNEW what she was doing.

Phaedra's opinion of Kenya and belief of Apollo was because of what she KNEW.

I would be disappointed if she did apologize to Kenya,

They can agree to not discuss it again and agree to go forward being respectful of each other. and certainly Phaedra should never trust that hussy.

Taking the high road is when you realize your husband is a cheat or  a con man, and you know if given enough rope he will hang his stupid ass and you wait until you feel safe because you know he will get his and you don't have to lift a finger. Which is exactly what Phaedra is doing.

At the end of the day (I hate that phrase), all of these ladies are on this show of buffoonery of their own free will.  Phaedra is the one dragging her own rep through the mud by showing that she has horrible taste in men, and also questionable parenting skills by allowing her small children to be cast members of a reality show.

Love her or hate her, Kenya is only making a fool of herself.  Phaedra is dragging innocent children into the mix.  And the track record of kids growing up on reality TV is not good.

I felt secondhand embarrassment for Kandi when she fell asleep and snored during yoga. Her workout outfit didn't look too comfortable, so maybe that contributed to why she was having such a hard time with the poses.

I sympathized with Kandi. My plane ride from America to Germany wiped me out. I can only imagine what 12-hour trip would do to me!

Some one above mentioned Ru Paul last night on WWHL.  Another thing he mentioned, was years ago he met Kenya at a Hollywood party.  She threw shade at him then.  Seems like she has always been a bitch.   Also, Regina King., (also on WWHL) did not believe there was a Mr Chocolate.  Ru said he'd like to meet him though.  I also agreed what Ru said about NeNe and Phaedra holding in their feelings.  I am kind of like that myself.

But she's always been pretty closed-off about things - it's not just the Apollo divorce/fraud stuff. To me, she's like Teresa on RHONJ, who came on the show flaunting a fake, over-the-top persona. And then when the veneer started to come off, suddenly she's a very "private" person.

LOL! Didn't she ask the director if she could say "Bye, Wig," and he looked at her like: say, what??

You know?

Yes, and he was like, you'll have to explain that some other time. As in, not interested, now you're wasting my time. Ha.

Being a Nene apologist has to be a full-time job because she gives so little reason to like her.

I can agree about the "right now" of her life, Aging Goth, but this has been Phaedra's M.O. for a while. Not just now that she's going through troubles.

I believe that is what Ru was alluding to when he stated that Atlanta women internalize their feelings and are never that open with their private affairs.  I know that my husband's family is from a rural town in NC and all the women there are basically taught to keep their feelings to themselves.  If bad stuff is happening in the family, no one will know until the cops show up.

I still don't feel sorry for Phadrea. I absolutely feel bad for her boys. I don't buy all her Apollo bs. She thought she could buy his love and affection. She immediately said she owed Kenya an apology after Kandi told her what Apollo said until Nene piped in with he's lying about lying. That's just what Phadrea needed to hear to feel vindicated in not apologizing. Even though Cynthia did a crappy job in bringing Mr. Chocolate to light I still didn't feel bad for Phadrea. It was okay for Apollo to lie about Kenya but Phadrea is supposed to be beyond reproach. Give me a break. Phadrea, Nene, and Porsha feel as if they can say whatever they want about others, but when the other women do the same they are mean girls. Now that Nene has her spin off I truly hope she won't come back and the ladies will still have altercations but will also be able to get along like we saw in this episode.

Better than cattle class but a far cry from first class seating, service and food.

I agree with this. It rubbed me the wrong way when at the lunch with Phaedra, she said "as women--" then quickly corrected it to "as BLACK women..." and she went on to talk about how they try to be strong or whatever. I couldn't pinpoint why it bugged me, because she's certainly allowed to identify as a black woman, and to bond with other black women over their shared (to some degree) heritage. But what you wrote explains it perfectly.

Not all big jets have lie-flat seats. I've flown to Europe in first class with a seat that didn't make into a bed, and got superior service.

The dynamics of the girls on the trip was good and Nene wasn't missed by me but for a travel episode this was a bit meh for me.  Wish we got to see more of the resort and the country. Half the time it just felt like they could've been in the Asian section of the ATL. Nothing about that dining room they spent the evening in was special or interesting. Why couldn't that have been held outdoors somewhere or at least had views of the grounds/poo/ shit something? Look like the back room of Bar None.  I compare this to the OC trip to Bali and so far this is lacking tremendously. Hopefully, it picks up next week.

I got to say the ATL group is one I would love to see in Amsterdam, London or Paris.

Nene's line reading was embarrassing. Producer had to break it down and tell her that no one is coming to a Broadway show to see your urban shenanigans and Bravoisms. If Nene wants to use 2 accents she should stick to the chitling circuit, but oh she is too good for those.

I thought Kenya's transgressions against Phaedra were more egregious than the things that Nene had done and said but YMMV. However, when Phae did 1st hear from Kandi that Apollo admitted that he 'lied on Kenya' her first reaction was that she would apologize to her. I don't know what changed. I wished that she had immediately contacted Kenya, sat down and talked and hashed shit out and they could have both apologized and moved forward. Maybe than this whole Mr. Chocolate fiasco would have never happened.

Kandi eating on the plane was hilarious.

Kandi was stiff as a damn board during yoga. I am beginning to think the whole extent of Kandi's sexpertise is lying there and having the man do all the damn work and maybe breaking out an occasional toy or 2!

Let the church say Amen. Telling you, I always felt a certain way about her making it a point to say it so very often, but hey, who am I to narrate her story and define her narrative? Plus, being a woman who isn't mixed and can't be confused as such, I feel like I'm given the stank eye, called a hater or jealous if I react any way but sympathetic towards bi-racial laments. No matter that ... let me stop. Anywho, her 'teeth and eyes' comments came out and it just seemed to me that she may boohoo about white people rejecting her, black girls hating on her but she also revels in her 'exoticness' to get over so ..... pass. You know what that in and of itself ain't bad, but no reason to use these tired ass Jim Crow nasty jokes against black people to do it. NO reason. Was watching The Knick (a show about a hospital in 1900's NYC) the other day on Demand with a friend. They had a scene with a white gangster with two potential prostitutes - one black, one white. He looks at the black one and says "I don't usually hire black {insert derogatory term here} but you have a nice figure. If anyone asks, tell them you are an octaroon."  My friend turns to me and says, switch out the word 'octoroon' for 'mixed', make the white guy black and this could be a casting call for a music video or film in 2015. I laughed and cried.

What is with the Porsha walk?!? Is this her normal everyday walk or something she does to be funny. Because that shit is ugly!

At the reunion Apollo was stating how he could not stand Kenya and how he didn't like her. Her simple reply was stop texting me then. She didn't imply they had anything going on, but since you're saying you don't like me don't text me. I absolutely believe Apollo wanted Kenya and had she given him the time of day what we would have seen is Apollo leaving his wife for Kenya. I do not agree with flirting in any way with another persons significant other. It will get your ass beat, but the hypocrisy of these people isn't lost on me. Nene continually flirted with Peter in past seasons and wasn't called a whore and all the other things Kenya was called. Although I do suspect it's because Kenya is more attractive than Nene that Nene got a pass.

I feel that Phaedra and Kandi just epically misread each others' social cues. From what we've seen on camera Phaedra puts up a stoic front that can be mistaken for 'leave me alone' when what she means is 'I don't want ice cream and The Notebook, but please continue to check on me so I know you care.' Whereas Kandi in her own moments of crisis is like, 'I need two pepperoni pizzas and The Princess Bride, not meaningless texts.' I've learned this about myself in my own "canceling" sessions. Most people expect support when they're down, but a much smaller percentage will ask for it, let alone tell you what kind of support they need.

I also always got the impression Phaedra was mad at Kandi for the impromptu prison visit advocate Kandi brought by. That scene seemed super fake IMO but I do believe Phaedra doesn't want to bring the boys to see Apollo and hasn't gotten any support on that outside of her mother. The pastor, her friends, her lawyer, etc., have all encouraged a relationship with their dad and suggested ways to make the prison into a lesson or at least something not scary. Maybe an outsider was just too much.

I have to give you much love for mentioning one of my favorite shows that probably very few people watch.  I know exactly what scene you are referring to and your friend's take on it is hilarious and sad.

I mentioned this on the Claudia thread, but I saw the documentary Light Girls and Claudia was on it.  She had a blink and you would miss it talking head and I would have no idea who the heck she was, if not for this show.  She said (I do not remember exactly what she said, so I might be misremembering) but she said she gets a lot of attention from black men because she is mixed.  I do think she is fully aware of her advantages, but like islandgal140 it is not for me to judge her experience.  However, I can judge her comedy and the eyes and teeth comment was hateful, not to mention.. not funny.

It was interesting when she said no one expected a woman who looked like her to enter comedy.  I was thinking probably a lot of people (particularly men) laugh at her lame jokes because she is pretty.  However, maybe she will have a big comedy career outside this show and prove me wrong.

The worst thing Nene ever did to Phaedra was bring on here friend, "big homie" Chuck, to humiliate Phaedra by talking about how they were never in a relationship and she was just a part of a team of girls he liked to keep on the side.  That plan back fired and Chuck (and his wife Mynique) ended up look like delusional fame whores.  However, Nene might have apologized for this.  I have a hard time keeping track who has beef with who on these shows.

Only if she hires a joke-writer. Her jokes are not funny. I'm not sure she's self-aware enough yet to be a comedienne. But hey, Moms Mabley was a famous black comedienne, so anything's possible. :)

And I feel he was on the same smear campaign to hurt Kenya. I do not believe Kenya brought the negativity on herself.

Thing is on your first point, saying "then stop texting me then"  to someone's husband is an implication that something went on.  Then there has to be an explanation and kenya at the time wanted it to appear that Apollo was trying to get with her.  Something you should never do to a pregnant woman with raging hormones.

As for Nene, she wasn't single.  She obviously loved her own husband so she presented no threat to Cynthia as far as her marriage was concerned. Plus they were very close friends at the time.  Kenya, on the other hand was a virtual stranger to Phaedra and Apollo and not only single but sounding very desperate for a man, ANY man even though she was there with Walter.  Remember she pretty much invited herself to Anguilla (via Kandi, no less)

She did apologize, especially after the car ride incident that took both Nene and Phaedra by surprise.

Hmmm Phadrea sat there big and pregnant and pulled out her scrambled eggs speech. Don't feel sorry for her. When Kenya was being playfully flirty with Apollo was when her and Phadrea were still cool. Didn't make it ok and Kenya was dead wrong. And to say it's ok for a person to flirt with another person because their married and seemingly happy doesn't make it ok. I'm definitely not of the mind that Kenya has ever been desperate for a man. She's smart and attractive. Oh boy was part of the story line to add her to the show and once he was on camera he went off script. If something is wrong it's just wrong it's not contingent on whether you like the person or if the person is married. Nene and Kenya were guilty of the same thing.

Not all big jets have lie-flat seats. I've flown to Europe in first class with a seat that didn't make into a bed, and got superior service.

We'd all be much better off without NeNe's shit-stirring. I do hope she's gone after this season.

I recently heard NeNe and Kim (AKA "Wig") have a roadtrip show in the works.

Still can't agree with this.

#1 Is someone I don't know came over and flirted with my husband, they would be called every whore and B in the book while they are pulling my shoe out of their behinds.

#2  Now if a close married friend I KNOW is not interested in my husband and flirts with him, I might be a little skittish but I would give her a pass.   Now if it was a constant thing, see point #1
