Kody was mainstream LDS until he was a young adult. He went on a mission for the LDS church, came home, learned his parents had converted, then he met Meri and converted too.

I think we peaced out (sorry) of that podcast at the same time. Watching him wave his fingers around in the peace sign just made go, "NOPE!"

He was bragging about how Robin was a hot commodity and he managed to snag her. He referred to her as the "Hot Model". I watch the Tik Tok summaries so I don't have to suffer the insufferable KOdy, I just get the good stuff.

Does anyone know what he means when he says that now that they are split "they no longer cover each others sins in a cloak of charity"? He spews so many words. Starts blabbing about the "sacred loneliness again".

Poor Widdle Kootie!  He can't believe how hated he and Crybrows are.  He's as dumb as a fence post.

I've been wondering if maybe he's left Mormonism altogether — perhaps for some sort of evangelical church or something.

I started listening to it, while I was doing something else. Until I heard Kody say the words, I forgot there was a brand of jeans called Diesel Jeans. I think he's just saying she did modeling for them.

I'm guessing by "Diesel Jeans Model," he means she got suckered in by one of those "modeling agencies" that set up in a hotel conference room, take your picture and give you the proofs for $300, then put you on a callback list never to be heard from again (hi, college me from 1997!). Right up there with her "expert" breakdancing. If she was an actual model, don't you think we'd have seen some pitchers by now?

I'm thinking she probably did catalogue work, or some other print campaign.

Answering my own question sort of.

I'm about halfway through, and he seems to be criticizing aspects of Mormon theology (an expectation of perfection) and using a more traditional mainstream Christianity (salvation through Christ) to do so (from about 47 minutes to about 50 minutes, 45 seconds).

I can’t imagine a fundie woman doing Diesel ads—they were quite provocative and controversial.

Robyn was an apostate for a while. Also, while the commercials were controversial, if she did catalogue or newspaper ad work (like for a department store that carried Diesel Jeans), Kody is totally capable of framing that as "Diesel Jeans model."

Was gonna comment on Crybrows but couldn't phrase without body shaming. I dislike her enough for her behavior, not going to pile on about something many struggle with.

I'm loving Christine recognizing Crybrows' relationship with Mykelti. I truly believe originally, Robyn was close to Mykelti for the help with the tenders, but Christine is magnanimous in her acceptance of the Dark Wife in the role she played with Mykelti.

The wife and I watched most of that interview yesterday when the TNF game was a snooze. Probably should've just kept the game on. It was more bloviating word salad from a man neither of us cared about. We did make up a terrible game of Would You Rather, though. Here are all things we'd rather do than be married to Kody:

-clean out the cat litter with our bare hands
-step in cat food with bare feet every day
-step in cat puke with bare feet every day
-never have cats again (the cat was on my lap so most of these are cat themed)
-never have sex again
-live in Utah
-have Kody's hair
-have Robyn's neck
-sell Lularoe
-wear Lularoe
-singk like Christine

We finally ended up agreeing that the only way either of us would marry Kody Brown is to save the cats.

Kody could have invited Savanah to Christmas #2. He could fly to visit Logan and Maddy and Hunter. All of his non Sobbyn kids are adults now, except for Truely. If he actually cared to see them, he would call them and invite them over. He could fly out to see Maddie and his grandkids. For Christmas, he could rent a big place for the whole family and make a peace offering and say let's start over and apologize  to all if them for the past. He does none of those things because he doesn't want to. All of his kids (except Truely) are old enough to make their own decisions about going to see him or talking to him, so for him to say that the moms are keeping them from him is a cop out and ridiculous.  It's not like they're toddlers and small  children that are still controlled by their parents and have no say in anything. He just doesn't want to look like the selfish,  narcissistic asshole that he really is so he puts the blame on his wives. Sobbyn is also to blame just as much as he is because she doesn't care about any of them either. She has her arm so far up Kody's ass, he's her puppet and whatever comes out of his mouth, came out of Sobbyn's mouth first. He's  just her parrot and whatever she says goes.

Have loved this shitshow from beginning and despised Kidney and Crybrows for about as long. Love how Janelle and Christine are forging ahead now. Question- were Christine and Janelle always close, or is this a case of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend?"  I know Christine did lots of the child care of Janelle's kids in Lehi, but we're the two women close in Vegas? I really cannot recall them doing much together then.

Longtime teacher here- we giggle about Ari's lack of physical boundaries and "safe hands and feet", but if she were in my class at school and this behavior was occurring, we would be having daily discussions and communication with family. She's not a toddler who doesn't have the language skills to communicate needs and wants. Girls came be just as aggressive as boys. Her jumping all over Truly at the birthday party was unacceptable behavior.

It seemed like they got closer during Covid, when Sobbyn wrote all those ridiculous rules that they had to follow. This is when I noticed Christine and Janelle coming together more. Covid was just an excuse so Kody could be at her house 24 hrs a day and shut everyone else out. There were pictures of Kody and Sobbyn out in public at restaurants and shopping at malls with no masks on during that time too.

I think there was genuine affection. After Truely was born, Christine had post partum depression, took antidepressants. When they were on the fitness kick, Christine said exercising helped so much, she was able to reduce the dose by half. Janelle smiled and said something like oh great. 

To me, that was spontaneous, and unlike the calm Janelle we saw in the early seasons.

I think Janelle always respected Christine and appreciated what she brought to the family (and Vice versa). I think they trusted each other regarding things happening in the family and what was best for the kids (didn’t matter who the bio Mom was). I think they began to hang out more during Covid when Kody was showing his true colors. 
 

I don’t think it was so much “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” but that “common goals, proximity and shared people we love (the kids) along with circumstances breed intimacy and closeness”.

You have to remember these women have known each other a LONG time. Logan is 29. In a more typical way I think of cousins I knew and was fond of, but didn’t start hanging out with regularly until circumstances brought us closer and I got to know them so much better.
