I thought the most telling part of the whole finale was the reaction shot of Faith, Joan and especially Ellen when Gerry joined Leslie on stage and began laying his excuses on her.

The finale was billed as "a stunning conclusion", which I completely disagreed with.  It wasn't stunning.  It was downright mean like all these shows.  They build people up, and the audience gets to watch them get knocked down and crumble.  Regardless of how people feel about Leslie's reaction, it was horrible watching her get totally crushed.  I looked away for a lot of it.

Well I woke up this morning thinking...$60,000 for a dress!

I just saw a long red velvet one from temu for 29.99.

*The one that Jesse said was the nicest one he'd ever seen and all I could think about is how Gerry straight up negged Theresa with his "I realized I can't live with you..........................................................I can't live without you."  Maybe some women would find that romantic but I don't think I'd ever want to be with someone who wanted to make me feel uncomfortable at the most romantic moment of our lives.

I agree, I think I saw Treesa's permanently stiff upper lip quiver. I hated that. What a jerk move.  He expected her to go  from a crushed heart to rapturous joy in seconds.  I wish she'd said, "I just realized I can live without someone who thinks it's funny to make a fool of me  in a vulnerable moment.  Take your adolescent humor back to Leslie."

I don't think I'm going to make it to the wedding.  Two hours of Treesa repeating ohmygod in that monotone drone would just be too much.

Agreed I don't how the Gold Digger Bachelor  will hold my interest  for two hours quivering and crying over and over about how sad he's  been  over his dead  wife   when we now know he moved on to pursuing  a new woman within a month.

I also can stop thinking about the dollar signs in his eyes when he heard Theresa  was wealthy, or so she claims. Now  wouldn't  it be a hoot  if she embellished her stock performance just as  Gerry and the producers embellished Gerry's  accomplisHments.

If I weren’t picked like Leslie, I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of slobbering.  Get a grip woman.  It’s only been a few months.  Or maybe the contract told her to turn on the waterworks.

In the second episode I think it was, at the cocktail party, Gerry was dancing and just acting silly with the women, caught Theresa’s eye and winked at her.  That made me think they had a definite connection.  That and when he asked her to help him with the frosting on his lips I; the first episode.

Yeah, I've taken her career with a grain of salt. My parents lost a bundle when their smart, young stock broker failed to tell them something important, someone I know who is reputed to be the best in that area lost over a million of his own money in the recent slump and we lost a lot recently and we have our savings in one of the big mutual funds where supposedly many great financial minds work together.

Treesa did great teaching herself the business and getting hired over lots of other applicants, but that doesn't make her rich or mean she can't make some bad calls.  It's a risky business.

I got two main points from that article:

1. Gerry was a goner from the convertible ride. Treesa's "calming hand" is now a permanent part of their love story. 🥰

2. I don't know if I fully believe that Gerry had spoken before about moving to Charleston, but I can 100% believe that Treesa is determined to not reside in Toni's Dream House! "Toni used to cook my favorite meal in this kitchen." *sob sob* 😭

They've never even been out for coffee together on a random Tuesday, but they're getting married and moving within a month.

But they wuuuuv each other.

I was all-in on sweet, mourning-Toni Gerry, until this recent development.  There were apparently texts dated before Toni died, with Gerry saying how he wakes up thinking about "Carolyn".

So is the lake house for sale?  Is Teresa selling her house in New Jersey?  Have they hired movers?

And where are all those darned passwords, Teresa, to all those accounts....Gerry needs to make it permanent before she has a chance to think straight.

I watch. Too. Much. Dateline.

Ahh, Temu. My new addiction. It has everything I didn’t know I needed until I saw it on there. Have you looked at the jewelry to go along with the red dress? I have picked up a couple pieces of Moissanite from there and am very pleased with them and the quality.

The diamond look-alikes that look more like diamonds than diamonds do. They really show the fiery rainbows when in the right lighting. Only very high quality diamonds can do that as well as a moissanite for a fraction of a fraction of the cost.

So much new info…they are moving to Charleston

I wonder if Gerry wanting to move some place warmer….maybe South Carolina, contributed to his decision   Leslie won’t leave Minneapolis but Theresa has a son in the Charleston area

I admit, after reading that article about Gerrys ex girlfriend, I did some snooping around on google maps to locate the area on the lake. Its ok there, but personally,  I would rather have a lot more trees on a lakeside property and not as many close by neighboring houses. Charleston is beautiful, and can’t beat being in the warmer weather it provides.

Ok lol i forgot to write something. I think i have a very different opinion.

i just didnt like leslie, it seemed like she is not happy with jerself and gerry was going to rescue her. I also thought it strange that leslie felt she had to rip into gerry on national tv and while it was very hurtful what gerry did, ahe im sure wanted theresa to hear about the things he said , esp the one that  she said we shared moments ill never share. I guess i just dont care for but maybe if she becomes bachlorette ill learn more about her.

Leslie reminds me of a good friend of mine. She has also been divorced twice and can't seem to get her life together, although she is nice. She would be great as a BFF, but as a spouse, not so much.

I wouldn't feel too sorry for Leslie. She is pretty and a ton of men are going to be lining up to date her, now. She needs to be careful to weed out the bad ones, but she'll be fine.

Maybe (and I don't know her that well), she needs to work on herself and not have someone do it for her? Maybe that is why in the end he went with Theresa. She might just have it together and that is what he wanted.

Did anyone catch Gerry's granddaughters' expressions  when Theresa said she knocked his boots off? They looked really disgusted.  I felt her comment was tasteless and fell flat.

Also, when Gerry was talking to Leslie about breaking her heart, he kept saying it was so hard with everyone else he sent home, as if he told everyone else he loved them! It just seemed very cold and if i were Leslie I would be pissed. He was being avoidant and not addressing what happened between them.

I hated his cheap hoodie and don't think anyone over 60 should wear one. MMV.

Wasn't there some reference earlier in the show to "knocking boots"?  I thought Theresa was playing the funny boomer-can't-get-her-memes-straight role and mixing "knocked his socks off" with "knocking boots".  She said she just meant kissing, but the joke, if it was one, had already bombed.

I felt like Theresa talked more during than Gerry during the Jesse "interview", then while everyone was hugging her, he just waited for her to make her way back to him.  It may not mean anything, but I was surprised (in a good way) that he didn't seem to mind her being the center of attention in their "big moment".

My overall opinion:  Interesting game show with a satisfying winner. (Which is more than I can say for Big Brother most seasons!)

I think Theresa is definitely doing okay financially. Her house was massive! I bet it is worth just under $2M. Granted, she probably bought it for a fraction of the price 40 years ago, but she’s managed to pay NJ property taxes for a decade without her husband and hasn’t seen any need to downsize. That’s the thing about working in the stock trade vs just investing your own money in stocks—the bonuses alone are ridiculous. It’s actually difficult to get the approval to put your own money into stocks because of all of the insider trading regulation, so I don’t think there’s much of a risk of her suddenly becoming bankrupt even with market fluctuations. (My husband works on Wall Street on the tech side, not trading, but follows the same regulations.) That being said, i think l there are a lot of reasons why he chose Theresa. Hearing about her job and seeing her home compared to Leslie’s boho lifestyle in a condo was probably one contributing factor to his sudden change of heart.

I personally thought Leslie did a good job of explaining her feelings and hurt, and found it refreshing how honest she was but also able to wish him well at the end.  Personally I think the guy is a creep now that we know more about him, and I think Teresa will find out later that Leslie was the winner in all of this.  There was something about the final episode and how he was with both women that was creepy, and you could see glimpses of the man from the revealing article.  In fact, not even glimpses, full on views of his somewhat controlling nature.

I started out liking this guy and now I just loathe him. Poor Leslie, I know she signed up for this but Gerry is old enough to know you don’t throw around “I love you” the way he has, especially knowing you have 2 people on the hook. He just came across so slimy with his whole “at the time” bullshit excuse. You could see his fake veneer in that moment and I’m sorry but him crying about it is just his way of trying not to look as bad as he knows he looks and made it worse. Fake phony jerk. Yuk.

I think he’s a bit of a con and I hope Teresa figures it out quickly and dumps him.

I keep thinking that at Leslie's age, 2 failed marriages, and her constant "I never get chosen", her constant negativity on her failed relationships, that perhaps, she needs to just be single and that it's ok to be single?  Isn't there a point that all the energy and effort, and constant let downs, heartbreak etc just get emotionally and physically exhausting, that, why bother anymore?  If you don't have the tools to do a realationship well, then do you really want to keep putting yourself thru this at this age?  Being so desperate for a relationship? Unfortunately what I am about to say isn't very nice, but she looks exhausted all the time, even from the beginning.

We all have known someone who will cling to a bad relationship because they don't want to be alone. Some of us have been that type of person too.

@sadie I feel the same way, I liked him in the beginning. I couldn't stand him last night. I think Leslie pushed to be told in the hotel room, he left and pretended to cry on the stairs. When he went back in to see Leslie he didn't have any tears. I was so glad to see Leslie didn't make it easy for him last night, because he did lie to her. I think he chose Teresa because she has some money, I think she really loves him. Let's see what happens after their trip to Italy. I also think Gerry love the limelight. JMO

Yep.  He included people he said goodbye to earlier on as if it was all the same.  Meanwhile, it sounds like he was going above and beyond with Leslie like writing her notes he'd slip to her on dates.

I noticed at that moment the camera caught April's massive eye roll.

Maybe but I think that's a bit of revisionist history. Just like his "I waited a year to date" even though the article the People article was referring to saw texts that it was much sooner.

So Theresa is not a broker, she’s more support staff. At a high level and she probably makes really good money, but not the kind of money many of us initially thought. And possibly not what Gerry thought.

From the beginning I found Jerry’s wide-eyed naïf behavior super creepy. And it actually made me feel a bit guilty for being so cynical about this supposedly kind, sweet, and innocent widow.

I’ll give him a possible pass for lying about his dating history, as I imagine that the show may have encouraged that. But if that stuff is true about him going Dutch with his partner, but making her give him the money in advance—so he’d seem like the generous man to strangers, it’s gross. It’s not even like “Oh I’ll catch the check and we can split stuff later. It’s all about appearances.

Also, I can imagine a person getting caught up in the moment and saying “I love you” to two people in the middle of a process like this. But to say it to THREE within days of each other? Ugh.

I used to watch Monsters Inside of Me. You would be surprised how quickly people can get ill and die from things like bacterial infections, parasites... especially people who swam in  lakes, ponds, rivers or just walking through the brush. And she might have not been in the best health to begin with even healthy people can decline rapidly and pass away.

I don't like people saying he killed his wife. Call him a jerk for how he behaved that is fair. Implying he is a murderer really isn't. He doesn't owe us his wife's death certificate.

And yes, I watch Dateline and all those shows as well.

Yes! Thank you for pointing that out, poor Leslie does look perpetually tired and sad. My DH died 7 years ago, I’m 56, and I know short of George Clooney ditching Amal for me that I’m not interested or equipped to date and I’m pretty happy with that. Guys like Gerry just turn me off all of it and at this age there are more like him out there than you think.

Leslie girl, take your fabulous legs and go enjoy life!   You aren’t unlucky on this one, you dodged a bullet.

Leslie is  a knockout. She looked  amazing  at the finale and probably has no problems getting  men's attention.

She's one of those who probably constantly laments about how she cant' find love, the woman who has been  married twice already.  I mean,  we'd all love to live happily ever after with one guy but things happen.

She could rewrite her narrative as a person who has had an opportunity at love and been married twice and would still like to be  married again.

That sure would make her appear less needy and unhealthy and not a red flag to new people who meet  her.
