Vermicious Knid December 31, 2024 Share December 31, 2024 On a somewhat happier note, the New Years Honors list in the UK is out. Among the entertainers Stephen Fry has been Knighted, Carey Mulligan was made a CBE and Fourth Doctor Tom Baker is an MBE (at 90!). Author and Noble Prize winner Sir Kazuo Ishiguro was made a Companion of Honour, which counts only 65 people at any one time 7 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/136372-milestone-moments-all-the-celebrity-vitals/page/76/#findComment-8543485

Bastet January 10 Share January 10 FYI, there's no evidence Bette Davis ever actually said that about Joan Crawford. Quote Investigator only found a review of a 1979 performance by a comedian who was impersonating Davis, in which he as Davis said “I think we should speak good of the dead. She’s dead. Good.” But the fabulous Moms Mabley did say it of her ex: "I was always taught never to say anything about the dead unless it’s good. He’s dead. Good!” 8 2 4 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/136372-milestone-moments-all-the-celebrity-vitals/page/76/#findComment-8550769

Shannon L. January 11 Share January 11 We watched the Eaton Canyon fire start and expand from our front porch. When people from here say they've never seen anything like it, it's true- they're not just stating a cliche. The word that best describes the scene is apocalyptic. Luckily, our house survived and we have a generator, so we've only had to deal with limited power, unsafe water conditions, and as of this morning, no gas. But, we now know of 12 people who have lost homes. We have friends who live a little closer to the worst of it and they know dozens of people who have lost homes. I'm surprised the death rate isn't higher than it is at this point. As for Hollywood productions being shut down, it's going to depend on a lot things. I wouldn't be surprised if the list get much longer. 21 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/136372-milestone-moments-all-the-celebrity-vitals/page/76/#findComment-8552240
