Whitney finally gets Glenn to semi-retire and tries to prep Heather for a new love. Meanwhile, Jessica pushes Whitney outside of her comfort zone in a pole dancing class. Then, an emergency with Babs' health brings Whitney's world to a sudden halt.

Episode aired Sep 13, 2022

You know this is the last season when they're reduced to going through a car wash to fill the time.

I hope Lennie is getting paid enough to have his past drug and alcohol addiction brought up by Whitney several times per episode.

She just sabotages herself too because we know she want's Lennie then offers to set him up with Heather. Now that she did that they're both going to get ideas about each other that would have never happened if she hadn't done that and then she's going to be pissed when they get together.

How are you a 36+ year old woman and had no idea your father is vice president of a company.

I'm sad about Henchi for next week's plot.

Okay and then she talked about setting Heather up with her brother whom I always assumed was gay, but I guess they're desperate for story lines and working with  low budget.

Also, the dog trainer scene was disappointing because Whit mentioned recall-that she could let her dog off leash, but couldn't be sure that she'd return. I was interested to see how they train for that, but he just tested how willing the dog is lead while leashed, which wasn't a concern she had.

The way she tries to boss her parents around pisses me off. If your dad doesn't want to retire he DOES NOT have to. Not everyone has to do exactly what you want them to do. Not everyone has to date anyone that you want them to. Her entitlement gets on my nerves. Do you think they keep her around as a friend because if they play nice with her then they get some money from TLC?

I think the money helps keep her friends friendly. Lol

I really wish Whit would get off of the idea of her father providing around the clock care for Babs.  It’s too hard!  Especially, for a senior.  It’s mentally exhausting and Glenn should not have to be a full time caregiver when they have other options.  It’s different if you have no other option. If she chooses to do it, that up to her.

I have a friend who got stuck in one of those car washes and had to call a tow truck to get her out!  Lol. I laughed so hard, because I had trouble with a few like that years ago.  I didn’t know they still existed.

Whitney's endless complaining in the pole dancing class was getting on my nerves.  She claims to be a professional dancer.  None of the moves I saw the instructor doing looked that difficult, but every new move Whitney would say "Oh gawd" like she was being expected to hoist herself up on the pole.  I was amazed the lady didn't tell her to shut up.  No one else in the class seemed to think the routine was that hard.

I'm confused about Babs's care situation.  They kept mentioning two caregivers, yet saying Glen had to get up in the middle of the night to give her meds.  And Whitney, it's Abbotswood, not Abbotsworld.  How come she could say it correctly and now all of a sudden she can't?  That place must be a chain, because we have an Abbotswood here as well and we are pretty far from Greensboro.

Her first car wash, wowza!  Oh I'm sure Whit got paid a fee for it, it's part a big chain outfit in NC. Why else would we need to see the name several times. And OMG a trip to the orthodontist!  And a training class for that poor dog!  And a trip to daddy's office!  Well the pile dancing was amusing, clearly the highlight of the episode.

What did several of these monumentous events have in common?  An emasculated looking Lennie sitting dutifully by her side. Hope the money is worth it for him.  She absolutely MUST have a man by her side every season, a guy she feels superior to that takes her passive aggressive comments reminding them of their past addictions.  I think this is how she gets back at all the men she feels have wronged her in the past.  Much to his credit, Buddy bowed out of her mind-effing.  She's just so toxic.

Thanks for the heads-up. I haven't been watching this season because I can't be bothered to stay up past 10 PM to watch, but was planning on eventually catching them on demand. I won't watch next week's at all. I can't stand the idea of something bad happening to Henchi. I'm still seething over the missing Steve Purrwin.

I was sure she was going to forget to roll her windows up because ya know, she never drove through a car wash before and wouldn't that be pure comical genius! Not.

Who ever it was that said Lenny is the new Buddy is totally correct!

Whitney yelling out Jessica doesn’t wear deodorant reminds me of her blurting out that Heather wears spanx. It was completely unnecessary.  She’s always trying to embarrass people.

Also, why is she showing Heather pictures of Lennie’s private parts, she’s a pervert!

The women she’s always trying to embarrass in front of men. She’s so competitive with any female that might get attention. The men she embarrasses by hanging all over them and flirting then instant they meet.

Which is worse, the fact that the producers thought that a whole segment of her going to a car wash was entertainment or the fact that I watched part of it.

One other thing when she went to Glenn's office.  He told her not to push the door handle and she promptly does it and set off an alarm.  Glenn was ticked.

So Whitney is offended by Jessica's armpit odor...is this Whitney the same woman who gets turned on by smelling her cat's breath, and worse?

I guess the part of Todd is now being played by Pat.  Bring back Todd, producers, the real Todd.

A car wash, a pole dance, and a trip to the ER.  I wish I were Paul Lynde so I could come up with a clever question those three things are the answer to - 'name something you (blank), something you (a different blank) and something you (another blank, different from first two). Somebody help me, please.

I’m glad you mentioned this, it reminded me that, Whitney has stuck her face in Jessica’s armpit on MULTIPLE OCCASIONS despite Jessica’s pleas and Whitney must like the smell since she has repeatedly done it! Im tired of her forcing herself on people physically, it’s gross.

I do wonder where Todd is since they all said he is missing.  I guess the money isn’t enough to attract him consistently.

Pat seems like a nice guy but that jacket was atrocious.  I thought Whitney’s dress was drab but at least it wasn’t a two piece with Henchi’s face airbrushed onto it.

From Jessica’s Instagram, here is the wedding party. I’d definitely say Pat heard “get a green jacket” and nothing more. I wonder who the sour-faced bridesmaid is…maybe she is a lovely person who just got stuck next to the essence of Whitney.

Although I’m not into that kind of thing x rated pics—seems cringey) I’m assuming they were in a relationship at the time, so I stand by that showing a person outside of the relationship intimate pictures of your lover makes her a pervert. If he’s sending unsolicited x rated pics that’s a different story ymmv

Knowing Whitney, they were not only solicited, but demanded.

As for Todd, they are setting up for something with all these mentions of him not showing up for things.  Does he now have to play out an addiction storyline too?

Yes, I did wonder if Ashley and Whitney talking about Todd’s disappearance was a setup for a future storyline.  I also wondered how long Ashley had been engaged and if that was trotted out on the show as being something that just happened.  You never know with this crowd 😂

I know I shouldn't be, but I'm surprised at the amount of air time Jessica's wedding is getting. Why on earth are we being subjected to dress fittings, leprechaun jackets, couple's fights, wedding jitters, and dance practices? Good lord.

Why are we now finding out about Lennie's alcoholism? Is it alcoholism? Now I want to go back to previous episodes to see if he's acting inebriated or not.

Did Sweatney tell on her weight? The pole dance instructor said the poles held 500-600lbs, and Sweatney said she was close. If I never have to see Sweatney fling herself around a pole again it will not be a day too soon.

I thought that Glenn printing out all of the countries' flags that Sweatney has been to and then writing their names above them on the paper. My dad is 2 years older than Glenn (but doesn't do social media), and my name is his password for everything. I'm the only daughter as well and I just thought that was so sweet.

I think Jessica’s wedding is a main storyline because Whitney seemingly doesn’t have a life or any excitement of her own.  I mean Whitney’s whole storyline is basically Bab’s which isn’t even directly about Whitney since Glenn and Hunter are equally if not more so involved.

Well, that's right now...We all know that If Whitney wasn't so busy with Babs, there would be plenty of time for fake competitions,  becoming an expert at something in just a couple sessions,  and phone calls with a fake boyfriend. 😉😉

I actually liked the car wash scene.  At least it was more like a slice of real life than some of the fake crap that happens on this show, and that's despite knowing it was probably a "product placement".

Whitney's fear of the car wash, now that I could believe was fake.  Just more of her need for attention there.  Always putting it back on her.

Really?  We have tons of them in CT.  I've never personally had any trouble in them.  How can you get stuck in them?  The wheels sit on a track that pulls the car in neutral through the car wash.  You're not driving the car through it.  Even if the car were to shut off in neutral the wheels would still turn and be pulled through.

I felt sorry for Glenn.  All through this episode looked to me like he was obliging his daughter for the sake of the show but he was not really in the mood to be filmed and for her sophomoric antics with the door alarm, etc.  He's a trooper and she is all over taking advantage of his soft spot for his daughter, like the dear ol' dad that he is.  He deserves a more mature, less narcissistic daughter!

Did Sweatney just *show* them to Heather, or did she share them electronically (text, email,  etc)? If the latter, she could be charged with  "revenge porn" which is a felony in NC. And this sexual predator would get what she deserves.

Yes, I thought the rest of the office seemed normal enough, although I think I had thought it was a bigger company in a more traditional high rise.   Glenn’s personal office barely had enough room for one person much less two.  Plus, they’d just been staring at an almost blank white walls.  I get you’re there to work but seems depressing.  Maybe they didn’t spend much time in their office and were out on the floor. and I guess Glenn seems rather no nonsense about work so it probably didn’t bother him at all. Whitney acted like a 6 year old (an insult to 6 year olds) on bring your daughter to work day…stumbling around setting off alarms, taking her dad’s belongings.

I’m not sure how Heather saw them, Lenny just said Whitney showed them to Heather, which as you mention could be in a variety of ways, so unless Lenny ok’ed it before she showed it I think it’s an awful thing Whitney did.  I also wonder if Heather even really wanted to see them or Whitney again is doing immature things to show she got to see a guy naked and dragged Heather into her nonsense. Whitney seems emotionally stunted like somebody in junior high (an insult to those children).

On a side note, and with my own junior high antics, I screamed when I saw those light blue leggings Whitney wore to the zoo. They were ATROCIOUS!!! I understand it might be harder to find clothes at her heftier weight but she’s worked with several larger people clothing lines that have nice clothes. Why does she always look a mess?

I noticed she said she was close on that weight limit, but I doubt that very seriously.  I say that as a longtime viewer of My 600 Pound Life.  On the live chat threat, there’s usually a lively contest of who can guess at the actual weight of the patient before they take  the doctor’s scales.  Based on that, Whit’s not close to 500 pounds. I’m not sure why she said that.  Maybe, she wanted reassurance….idk.

I'll give her props for feeling comfortable in her own body, but yes, she does always look a hot mess, and there's no reason for it. I get that she's big. I'm big, and I used to be much bigger. I used to weigh over 330 pounds, that was as high as my scale went. I will say it's very expensive to dress well when you're that big, but it doesn't need to be all stretch pants and sports bras. I personally took great care to never leave my house in anything less than jeans and a tee shirt, and most often dress pants and dress shirt or sweater. I knew at my heaviest, I was being judged by others just for being that large, right or not, and I NEVER wanted to the fat slob stereotype the media likes to portray. I've lot a lot of weight, well over 100 pounds, but its still hard for me to go out in less than dressier cloths. I still am about 200 pounds, but still don't want people looking at me like I'm sloppy. And yes, the leggings she wore at the zoo should be burned. Those were truly atrocious. I did like her cat ears though!

I don’t believe the little office they showed was Glenn’s actual office.  JMO, but I think he likely was trying to appear like a regular guy and downplay his status.  You can check out the company on its website.  It’s actually in Morrisville, which is a suburb of Raleigh.  It’s a huge operation! And the building is huge!  He has a very prominent place there.  I get why he doesn’t want to retire.

All the talk about Babs’ churlish behavior is concerning. The family seems to think it’s cute, but it might be more.  I realize she’s likely frustrated, however, resistance to care and refusal to cooperate with medical instructions is quite common with people who have something else going on, like cognitive decline.  I suppose time will tell.  If that is the case, there may not be the recovery to her previous status as they expect.  And, the level of care gets greater, not less.  Hope I’m wrong.

I thought for a second that might not be his real office because it was not what I was expecting at all, but I thought it was more he’s serious about his job and didn’t want Whitney’s shenanigans intermingling with his work life rather than trying to appear as a regular guy but it makes sense what you are saying too.

I thought at first it was a “reenactment” but I wasn’t sure of the size of his company so didn’t know if the closet office could be a thing or something they shot like in the mail room or somewhere because he didn’t want the cameras interfering in his actual office life.  Either way, I did think it was odd to have two desks jammed in that tiny room, even if it weren’t real 🤭

I didn’t even mind that they were leggings but the color looked awful on her.  They looked almost see through.  I too thought she was joking or exaggerating about the weight limit thing.  I’m bad at guessing people’s weights unless they are near my own, but  really don’t think she’s anywhere near 500 lbs. Your guess seems like a good one to me.

On a side note, can anyone explain why she keeps saying AbbotsWORLD?  Is that an actual thing at Abbotswood or is it some dumb variation she came up with like Alasker or Klerb?

You know, I agree with you but I do think those offices they showed were on the premises.  I took a look at that company and that building is in one of those "light industrial" neighborhoods and is so huge because it is mostly a printing facility.  So Glenn's company and position are not part of the kind of Fortune 100 corporate world I worked in for 30 years.  I could believe those offices were part of his company, and not the mail room either.  They were just about what I would expect for a company like that in a building like that.  I did so much interviewing over the years that I'm pretty sure about this.  I've been in buildings just like that.  I'm sure his office is much nicer.  He's probably a C suite exec. but in a company like that it would still be more like a shirtsleeves rolled up position, not a fine handmade suit and tie and corporate jet position.

I get why he doesn't want to retire, but there goes the theory that he works because he needs the money.  I don't believe that.  He likes the money and doesn't want to part with it any time soon.  And I get that too.

P.S.  I'm sure their mailroom looks a little lower down on the scale of attractiveness than what we saw.

Agreed.  Taking care of a patient who needs round-the-clock attention (and administering medication might not be something you'd want to assign to an elderly man who has to wake up in the middle of the night to do it) especially since the consensus is that Glenn does not insist on Babs' doing her entire PT routine is a tough, tiring job, and it's not fair for Whitney to assume/pressure/dictate that Glenn will devote his entire day and night to staying home and caring for Babs.

The news that Babs was back in the ER raises the question of whether she'll ever be able to return to her home, if she'll need to be in a skilled nursing facility rather than the assisted living place where she is now, where Glenn can live with her.  Babs may die before she is able to have any more treatment.  If Glenn retires, what is he supposed to do with his day?

I also didn't think that was Glenn's formal office, but a place where he does some of his work.  As a VP, he'd have to have a comfortable setting for meeting clients, somewhere he had access to his own workspace and room for visitors to sit comfortably.

Re:  dick pics.  What the hell?  Do any of the women here find them sexy or alluring?  I get it that men may be aroused by pictures of women's private parts, but I've never met a woman who seriously was turned on by pictures of men's junk.  Differently wired, I cguess.

Whitney's half-assed attempt to fix up Heather and Lennie reminded me so much of her ambivalent feelings around Buddy and Heather (and his other girlfriends).   Creepy.

I guess they are saving money on the medication management, by not having AL staff handle it.  I’ve never known of an AL that didn’t have med techs administer the medications to all residents.  They are certified and keep logs, so the resident gets their meds properly.

Glenn seems pretty secure in his decision to continue working at least part time.  Hopefully, he or someone will inform Whit that caregiver fatigue is a real thing and should be avoided.  If Babs can’t move, she would need to be turned every 2 hours.  I hope they have helpers to do that.

I don’t believe Lenny sent dic pics to Whit.  I think all that talk was contrived for the show.

Every time she brings up "her man" the eyes roll from pretty much everyone.

When she was in the car with Lenny, and talking about dating, she said something like, "You've seen my dating apps"...not, "You SAW my dating apps", which is what she would have said if she had been dating the Frenchman for so long and would have closed the apps.  But, since she isn't really dating Frenchie LeBlur, she's undoubtedly still active on the apps.

One other thing when she went to Glenn's office.  He told her not to push the door handle and she promptly does it and set off an alarm.

That whole thing with the alarm confused me.  Why on earth is there a situation where touching the regular bar on the door, will set off an alarm?

The car wash, seriously! Whats next we get to watch Whitney clean cat letter, wash clothes?!

That's about what it would be if there was a reality show for my life...that's why I don't have one!

There was a scene where Heather and Whitney were together talking about their taste in men, and something was said where they both said "Buddy!" at the same time and laughed, but closed captioning obviously wasn't done by people who watch the show so the caption read "Body".

Yep.  That's another indication to me that that wasn't really Glenn's office, but a storeroom of some kind, or maybe overflow office workspace.  How inconvenient if when opening your office door you had to be careful not to touch the alarm bar!

I suspect Glenn didn't want his real office shown, maybe because he's a more private person than everyone else on this shitshow.

I worked for a large company for almost 30 years and we had several buildings.  One that was more a warehouse space looked like that.  Because of what was in there, you needed to badge both in and out or you would set off an alarm.  A lot of people would forget to badge out and just open the door.  There are also timed things on doors like that to prevent tailgating (where someone follows a badged individual in).  So, I don't think that was Glen's real office either.

And it's Abbotswood, not Abbotsworld.  Whitney pronounced it correctly all through earlier episodes, but this last one she didn't.
