The reel of Justin’s expressions were the best part of the show. I never realized just how animated he was during the season but that has real entertainment value.  I’m sure his parents are patting themselves on the back for having the foresight not to show up for hometown dates. I did feel bad for him because I think he was totally blindsided and it sounds like they had shared some real intimate moments that made him think he had a very good shot.

Katie is good at interacting with the guys and making them feel comfortable. She was able to have some meaningful conversations with them which was nice to see. I don’t see Blake hanging around for long and I hope she doesn’t get her heart broken.

They need to try a Bachelorette who married the guy she picked, as the host.  Are there any other than Trista?

I'd like them to choose a female who has NOTHING to do with the Bachelor franchises, ABC, or Disney.  Someone professional.  Soledad O'Brien would be ideal, but would she sink this low for me?  I don't like Meghan McCain's off-putting personality, but she's really INTO reality TV and takes no crap.  Wonder what THAT would be like.

Not To Worry ... the only Katie-heart in this TV negotiation is made of stone.  She's working her contract the best she can...and hoping for a bonus or two.

Also, not sure if they specified whether Aunt Lindsay was the dad's sister or the mom's, but if she was mom's,

Maybe Aunt Lindsay is one of "those aunts," like all the "uncles" children meet when their mothers are on frenzied manhunts.

Also, I peeked at Katie's instagram page again and it appears that the "honey bear" nickname she awkwardly barfed out on AFTR is indeed what she calls him. That ALONE would be a deal-breaker for me, ugh.

Isn't that icky nickname...or something very similar REQUIRED when one chooses to perform the Bachelorette Handshake innumerable times in one season?  Bubba Wubba....

On their “hometown date,” their hockey jerseys said “Honey Bear” and “Honey Bee.” I’m shocked they went for bears and bees instead of the birds and the bees!

I agree, RealHousewife! Justin’s face made this ridiculous season tolerable. You’ve heard the expression, “It’s written all over your face.” That’s Justin! It was amazing a man had this much facial personality. He didn’t have to say a word! What a doll.

They're divorced now though, so they don't count as a success story for the show anymore.

When I saw her getting out of the car and realized she was going to walk up the road, I thought "this isn't going to go well". Then she started walking up the road in her dress and there it was...... total Pig Pen, kicking up dust.

The descriptions of the terrible setting and design are cracking me up, but total Pig Pen, kicking up dust has to be my favorite.

I'm still trying to decide why the inserts in that green dress were so terrible. Were they fitted wrong or too dark a color or was it just a mistake to wear them in broad daylight with close-up camera angles?

I don't know, the context isn't helping me find it less vomit-inducing.

Speaking of that hockey date, in a really bad episode, a moment that stood out as extra lame was Blake's description of the moment he knew he loved Katie. So shallow and junior high, like a 13 year old who takes notice of a girl because she laughed at one of his jokes or something. Embarrassing how touched Katie was by that dumb story...

Speaking of Desiree, that's whose season (minus the travel porn - I never knew how much I need the travel on this show before these last few landlocked seasons) Katie's has reminded me of throughout. Desiree had that enormous, sincere, and terrible to watch meltdown when Brooks (Brooks! Be still, my beating heart!) decided he just wasn't that into her, and then she rallied and married the guy with the bad 'poetry', Chris. and good for them. But I kept seeing Katie in her sack-the-stylist outfits with product clumped in her hair or managing to look - as Desiree did - both slim and yet stumpy in her jeans, and the way the guys, beyond a certain point of accusing this one and that one for being 'wrong reasons' guys, really seemed to like each other more than they did her. Telling them all her insecurities just took what little lustre Katie had in that role off further, also, I felt - even though that is an admirable thing to do when forging a real relationship, at a certain point; but you don't lead with it. Anyway, poor scared, trapped, horny Blake will get a few photo ops out of it; and, who knows, maybe these crazy kids will settle down in some Canadian town running their pest extermination business.

Right, but the context was discussing host possibilities, that they'd want a host who'd actually found their husband this way and presumably, they'd want someone who'd actually stayed married to that person, unlike the trail of broken engagements and in some cases, divorce.

Choose One:

  1. Some stylist HATES Katie and insisted on her wearing a dress that would never fit ... no matter what?
  2. That was Tayshia's dress and Katie demanded it--tired of being out-glammed by "Romy and Michelle" wannabees?
  3. Aunt Lindsey chose the dress and Katie damned well better wear it?
  4. Seamstresses did the best they could in the middle of Tumbleweed Town.

Random thoughts.
“Honey bird” for him is not masculine enough.  I have a pet name for my husband, which I think is better than something like  “Darling.”  lol  However, he hates it when I let it slip in public — just in front of my sister, come on! 😂

Not having seen Kaitlyn’s season, I am having trouble figuring out the before/after in the photos.  Top 2 are before?  Left 2 are before?    Help! 😂

Meghan's hair alone would be a big scene stealer. She'd make sure there's a flag in the background of all dates. She'd get angry on behalf of contestants who are totally fine. She'd push the lead to keep or get rid of people based on their politics. She'd find a way to insert MyFather into rose ceremonies.

A certain former host would look pretty damn sweet in comparison . . .

Thankfully Meghan McCain is married. Why are we putting her hosting out into the universe?!? What did we do to deserve that?! The View is finally going to become watchable again, we don’t need this bitter, aggressive woman ruining another program. Aunt Lindsey would be better—more demure and approachable, lol.

I think Tayshia was a good host. Kaitlyn and Tayshia playing the role of the girlfriends was kind of fun. But Tayshia could carry it as a serious host. I think when we come to a Bachelor season, maybe someone like Wells would be better. They seem to have groomed that man to take over since his bartending gig in Paradise (and this season he’s apparently master of ceremonies, whatever that means), and they’ve already brought him back for events on the main show, too. I think he would be a good permanent host. He’s funny, and he also has “professional broadcasting experience” as a radio DJ…since I recall that being a main concern of replacing Harrison with someone random. He even sort of looks like a young Harrison. Where do we vote? Wells for Bachelor host!

That made me want her so much!   The glamour!  The drama!  The internet spats!  My kind of reality TV.

Remember the Bachelor spin-off with all the emotional  plus size women?  She could host another one of those, because I loved that one.

They need someone slightly older than the contestants to be the host. I don't care if it is male or female. The Bachelor or Bachelorette responded to Chris Harrison like he was their favorite uncle who they could confide in. I don't like the Taysia/Kaitlyn duo as hosts because they are giggly and create this mean girl atmosphere. Plus, they were so glammed up, if you were tuning in, you might mistake one of them for the Bachelorette. I'm surprised one of Katie's men didn't try hitting on one of the hosts this season. Heck, they might be saving that for Michelle's season!

Are you referring to the show "More To Love" with the dad bod guy Luke? I think that's the show- he was a handsome bigger guy and the pretty women contestants were all plus sized.  I remember that show! I can't find it anywhere to re watch online, but it was a great show- lots of drama and fun.

I don't know if that's the one Judy means, but there was a show called More To Love on Fox in 2009 hosted by plus-size model Emme. It wasn't technically a spin-off since it was on a different network, but the format was very similar, but with an overweight lead and contestants. It only lasted for one season.

I think we saw shades of this bitter, kind of cruel Katie when she sent Thomas (I think it was him) home.  Instead of just not giving him a rose and escorting him out, she called him up, chewed him out in front of everyone and demanded he "Get out" while pointing the way out.  It was over the top and unnecessary, just like her actions toward Greg last night.  She's not over him and she's not "in love" with Blake.

At the time I thought that was producer-scripted drama where Katie was directed to step back and not give him the rose, but now that you mention it, in hindsight, it may have been all her.

Kaitlyn's face is just too distracting to watch.  I can't pay attention to anything she says, as I keep my eyes peeled for any sign of emotion, which her frozen, distorted face can't show.

She's gone so overboard on the Botox/Filler combo that her mouth is distorted.  She has the infamous Joker smile, where only the corners turn up.  But the center has been so heavily Botox'd, the center of her upper lip stays completely still, making her entire mouth look like a Picasso painting.

Kaitlyn is upset to read when people talk about her facial distortion.  Sorry, girl, you did it to yourself.

She was this refreshingly cute Canadian girl on her season, and now, she's a caricature of herself.  SorryNotSorry.

My face hurts looking at her. That can’t be comfortable being stretched out like that. Her eyes look weird like she’d have trouble closing them. That’s one of the things I liked about Kaitlyn, was that she wasn’t a cookie cutter bachelorette. I enjoyed her season and that she could be herself, warts and all.
I wonder if the competition with Brit to see who would be the bachelorette made her insecure because even though she won, there were still quite a few guys who wanted Brit because she was “prettier”. Hopefully she’ll detox her face like Courtney Cox did.
Although I like her, I don’t think she needs to be a Co-host.

I love David Spade- he was great in Tommy Boy and Black Sheep, I think that he's a good host for The Bachelor in Paradise because his dead pan jokes are a refreshing contrast to all the romance and hope in this show and I could see him flirting with some of the ladies.  I'd love it if Norm McDonald could host The Bachelor and maybe Jennifer Coolidge could host The Bachelorette- I like the jaded, darkly funny types.  I'm not into Tayshia and Kaitlyn- they're way too basic, unfunny and chirpy to me.

I've always thought he was overrated, but I have to admit his recap of the Bachelorette finale on Kimmel was funny and I'm no longer dreading that he'll be on BIP. I wouldn't want him to host the main show though, as that does require the "faux-gravitas" and "kindly aunt/uncle" demeanor IMO.

I know it's not really his wheelhouse, but I'd love it if Tom Bergeron had a go at hosting. I'm still mad that he was so unceremoniously dropped from DWTS.

And it's dangerous because people naturally think, "Well, a lot of sites say this, so it must be true."  I ran into it with respect to the job someone had on another show, and there was site after site that said the same thing, and it was wrong.

Katie ended up reminding me of Matt a bit, just one who could more successfully play to the camera. Seems like a basically nice person, but was probably not the best person to play the lead. I don’t at all think that Katie and Blake will be one of the couples that “makes it” but I think they’ll have a lot of fun together for awhile, and it seems like that’s really what they want. I also think the show REALLY needs a real host, not Harrison but someone who actually does this for a living, not just two former contestants. Having all of these Bachelorettes around just confuses things.
