Speaking of, I'm rewatching Buffy the Vampire Slayer from the first season and Rupert Giles is still my crush on that show. He was back when it first aired and he still is now. But it is freaking me out that I am now older than he was on the show. I love a bookish, tweedy gentleman.

Get out of my head! I finally watched the show only 5 years ago and got an enormous crush on Giles and by association on Anthony Head. Sorry, Angel/Spike/Xander fans, Giles is the hottest guy on that show, that's the hill I will die on.

Xander never liked it when any female showed interest in a guy that wasn't Xander. I assume the show was actually trying to go with the "eeew, but he's old" joke but it didn't really work because, well, Giles is swoony and he did a good job on that song, which is a great song.

The whole show from 1991 is actually available on Youtube, but in a poor quality. Better than nothing of course, since the Doctor still hasn't bothered to show up to take me to all the great concerts and shows I missed in the past.

Just out of curiosity, who does she consider kind-eyed? I just spent an inordinate amount of time trying to decide if Cavill has kind eyes. And my conclusion is they're not inherently cruel or kind looking to me. He doesn't have Michael Shannon crazy eyes, though! LOL (I actually really like Michael Shannon. No shade on him but the man is innately terrifying looking.)

That's how I feel about Cavill. I do think he's super hot. When I think kind eyes, it's Paul Rudd. He's handsome but when I look at his eyes, he comes across gentle and humble. Not aren't I a hot and famous Hollywood actor type of vibe.

I've not seen any of Cavill's work, but I have heard of him and seen him pop up here and there on TV and whatnot. On the one hand, he's British, and I am a bit of a sucker for a British accent... on the other hand, I generally don't really go for the more muscular guys, which he seems to be from what I've seen of him. I tend to go for the more lanky/scrawny/skinny types :p. 

That said, I've only ever seen images of him. Sometimes it takes seeing an actor in something to change one's mind about them, so...who knows. 

As for the discussion about eyes, I can't say I've ever really thought to look at whether or not a guy has "kind" eyes, so to speak, but I can see where a guy who has eyes like that would draw someone in, certainly. Eyes can be a very attractive feature - maybe they have very bright/sparkling blue eyes, or sexy dark eyes, or something :D.

Yeah, there's a difference between having a natural confidence that you carry with you, and knowing how to balance that confidence with some humility and a good sense of humor, and thinking you're all it and taking yourself way too seriously. The guys who fall into the former category are definitely much more appealing to me.

I currently have a thing for Alex Vincent, who plays Andy Barclay on Chucky. He was in the first two movies for stepping away from acting to pursue another career—always a good move to avoid the child star curse. He was such a cute little boy back then, and now that he’s grown he’s cute in a whole different way. Hee.

Oh, yeah, I absolutely agree on him as well :D. He's got a bit of a smartass sense of humor, which I tend to be a sucker for. And he's a good-looking guy in general.

Kelly Ripa- I know I know the complains of her personality these days on the other thread are all valid but I did used to think she ran the fine line between being sexy and cute as a button.  But that's gotta be well over 10 years ago by now.  Probably closer to 20 years ago

Yasmine Bleeth- I got reminded of her recently.  She was gorgeous and exotic.  Easily my favorite Baywatch actress.  Too bad about the drug issues later on

I remember she used to host some E news shows/wild on shows years back.  I recall too as a teenager a kid in my class had a Maxim magazine with Jules Rules where she glanced the cover/magazine.

 

Didn't have a crush on her then but yeah I cant help but notice now she's very very pretty.  And looked pretty free of plastic surgery.

I think Jules Asner left E! not long before I got the channel (June 2003), but they were still showing her interview show Revealed which I would watch occasionally.  She is married to director Steven Soderbergh.  It says that they married in 2003, so maybe that is why she had left E!?  (I remember reading about her co-anchor Steve Kmetko being fired, but I think she left of her own accord.)

I'd never heard of her before, but looked her up on Wikipedia. Apparently she's become a screenwriter. Wrote Logan Lucky and did a few touch-ups on other Soderbergh screenplays.

Up until 2003/2004 I would watch the E Station at times.  The E True Hollywood Story was decent back in the day.  Talk Soup and even The Gossip Show were slightly charming albeit trashy (though wholesome as anything compared to today).  Also, recognizing you from the music thread they did like a 2 hour special on Christina Aguilera around that time when she was still popular.  I think that might have been the last thing on the network that appealed me to watch.

I have a vague memory of reading an article back there that said she actually wasn't all that comfortable in the spotlight.  I thought maybe I dreamt that up but perhaps by her being a screenwriter my memory might have served me correct.

Maria really bounced around from one entertainment news show to the next for a while:  ET to Access Hollywood to Extra to E! News.  I can't remember what she's up to now (I know she survived a brain tumor that she blamed on stress, which some took as a reference to her reportedly bad working relationship with Mario Lopez on Extra).  I haven't been to any movies for a while, but several years ago, she was still hosting the preview show before the movie at Regal Cinemas.  When she first started, I remember escorting a friend to her seat (she has vision problems, particularly in the dark) when we heard, "Welcome to [Name of Preview Show].  I'm Maria Menounos from E!"  To which my friend replied, "EWWW!!"  Although she finds Maria's laugh annoying, I think it was mostly directed at E! because we never forgave them for firing all the guys on E! News we found hot in 2003 by the end of 2005. 

The mention of Denise Austin upthread reminded me of watching and working out to the show that aired before hers on ESPN, "Bodies in Motion."  The host, Gilad, was very hot, though I still didn't appreciate it when he would sometimes decide we were supposed to keep doing the exercises during the commercial break.

Your ESPN bit was funny and brought me back.  I guess they had eye candy on those early morning workout shows for both sexes.  But I recall there was many guys on those shows that looked like their was plenty of uum extra muscle enhancers in the spinach they ate if you catch my drift.  

 

Imo its a garbage network now so it was cool to recall at one time they had morning shows dedicated too fitness
