Kody Brown: The Man Who Survived a KNIFE to the KIDNEYS!

I think the reason for the huge price "drop" was that they bought a house for 800k, did zero maintenance for x years, then doubled the price (likely against the advice of the realtor), convinced a buyer blinded by their "star power"  would gladly pay an extra 800 grand for a place that actually had depreciated in value since they purchased it.

So eventually the realtor laid out all the inspection issues that people might have negotiated if they'd listed at a more reasonable price, and they caved.  And then Christine's suit hit and they're probably on hold until there's some kind of hearing. And even at that point they may have to put a % into some kind of escrow and not be able to bury it in guns and QVC tchotchkes.

You can't just slap a lien on a property (except for builders' liens, a specific process governed by legislation).  Claiming some one owes you money doesn't entitle you to encumber their property without a court order/judgment.

That's why I included the possibility of "lawyering up" in my original comment.

I don't think that price drop was accurate.  Realtor.com website noted the price change but Zillow never did, and Realtor has the drop in price listed one day after the house was listed.

Their site is really odd in many ways.

I never saw the asking price change, and I’ve been looking.

Apparently there was one on Robyn’s house in LV. Something about a huge unpaid hospital bill for an uninsured Dayton….

I wonder if Christine waited this long because she was trying to get K to do the right thing  for a while, and he wont pay up.

I wouldn't be surprised if K and R listed the house bc they are trying to hide assets.

I wouldn't be surprised if their "art" collection has no appreciated at all.  You have to be a skilled, well advised collector to actually make money on buying art. I highly doubt they are being advised by anyone who knows anything about art.  And I understand their pieces are not originals, just limited edition lithographs? Which I would think have very little resale value

"Don McNeil, curator of RBC Wealth Management-U.S.’s 400-piece art collection on display at its downtown Minneapolis headquarters. “Investors should buy art for personal reasons,” says McNeil. “To expect that works of art will have some significant appreciative value in your lifetime, that’s different.”

Maybe Sobbin is holding back the Beanie Babies and these are her ace in the hole to get out of debt.

I just read on reddit that one redditor contacted Kuhl about the jacket Kody was wearing during that fake discussion with Robyn. Turns out that jacket couldn't be purchased no sooner than June 2023, it was absolutely not available in 2022.

Talking about damage control, right? Just when I think they couldn't get any lower....they do.

She showed the filing, highlighted. But I am on my phone and couldn't read it. Maybe someone on a bigger device can look at it?

Hopefully one of our super sleuths @ginger90 and/or @AZChristian can investigate.

I read enough nonsense daily, WOACB has never intrigued me.

Had to try to find more stuff so I wouldn't let you down.  Most of what the WOACB video was about showed general processes for divorce/child custody hearings.  The most interesting thing to me is that if the non-custodial parent challenges the original lawsuit and demands that this go to court, ALL finances have to be disclosed.  Bad move, Kody.

The other (even more) interesting thing I found is that Kody's lawyer has a one-star rating on Yelp.  Good luck with that!

I have nothing polite to say about KJ or her "reporting" style.

I've watched her, and wasn't impressed.  She has been known to sensationalize things, and I've wondered about her obsession with certain individuals.

I do hope they keep Truely out of their fight, if it can be called that.  She's enough of an old soul already.

Does anyone know if K&R actually did buy a $2 million dollar home? Or was it contingent on the sale of their current home?

They bought it and put it in a trust which was established September 1, 2023.

I’ll send you a page from the filing.

I too have been wondering what part getting himself maxed out on credit and then declaring bankruptcy might have to do with his scheme to avoid repaying the other wives. (quote from @Yeah No spoiler thread)

I think he's mad enough to take himself down on his quest to keep everything away from his exes: If he must destroy himself to thwart them, he will.

Had to google what it means to have your car registration suspended☺️ It seems insurance related: mostly because the owner appears to have no insurance or because there are administrative issues. But you guys may already know this, so my apologies if I sound stupid…

Anyway, it would sound like a typical stupid Brown thing to do: Driving without an insurance in place. They’re notorious for not being insured after all. Weren’t one or two of the kids in car accidents in Nevada with uninsured vehicles?

Where I’m from, driving without an insurance is a criminal offence…

If Kody and Robyn owe excise taxes on their car/cars, if they have outstanding traffic tickets or parking tickets, if they failed to renew the registration on their car, if they let their auto insurance lapse (if auto insurance is required in AZ), they could have had their licenses suspended until they fixed [whatever] issue.

It all depends on the laws in Flagstaff and in Arizona.

In other words, they didn't have to have an accident, or a drunk driving incident to have their licenses suspended.

It absolutely is.

The more I see Kody's crazy look and hear the venom and nonsense that spews out of his mouth, I wonder whether he has sovereign citizen ideologies.

yeah me too, since he seems to have been sucked into the manosphere and also likely hangs with a bunch of militia types if he's at a lot of gun shows

It would more likely be personal property tax. Excise tax, if applicable, would normally be included in the purchase contract.

Added: Mr. Google says Arizona calls it a vehicle license tax (VLT) instead of personal property tax.

I don't know Arizona laws. In my state, you pay sales tax when you buy the car. Our cities/towns assess us an annual motor vehicle excise tax (and it's called an excise tax).

Really? That's quite unusual since it isn't the definition of excise tax. But then we've established our lawmakers are not usually geniuses. At any rate in Arizona it's a vehicle license tax as I said above.  In US tax lingo it's a personal property tax (IRS).

There appears to only be one state that calls the annual vehicle tax an excise tax and leaves it to local governments to collect it. Most of the rest of us pay it to the state directly.

Merriam-Webster defines it as "a tax on certain things that are made, sold, or used within a country." The IRS also mentions "sale or use." Vehicles are still used after sale. It may not be the common understanding, but it is part of the definition.

I don't think I've ever made a secret on here of being from Boston, so the state you mention is likely Massachusetts.

And regardless of what a different state does, Kody lives in Arizona where they call it VLT.  The point in question is could he have his license suspended for failure to pay the personal property tax.  I'm not sure they would, but he'd likely get a traffic ticket and have to pay that and a late fee.  But who knows with those two in a family who seem to have problems paying their regular bills on time.

Here's what I found on a quick Google [SOURCE LINK]:

Suspension

Suspension is the temporary removal of your driving privilege. It's an action taken after a review of your driving record. After your suspension period has ended, your driving privilege will remain suspended until your application for reinstatement is approved.

Suspended for Failure to Pay a Ticket or Appear in Court

To reinstate your license

  • contact the court listed on the suspension notice and pay all court penalties due.
  • obtain a Court Abstract form or a Court Clearance receipt (with a final disposition code and date, violation code and date, and complaint number).
  • bring the Court Abstract or Court Clearance receipt to any MVD driver license office and pay a $10 suspension fee (no personal checks). Fees also may include an additional application fee. If we do not have a digital photo on file, you must apply in person. Otherwise, you may pay these fees by mail or online.

Reinstate your driver license online [NOTE: This is a link I didn't bother to include]

Suspended for Any Other Reason

To reinstate your license, you must pay a $10 suspension fee and may include an application fee. If we do not have a digital photo on file, you must apply in person. Otherwise, you may pay these fees by mail or online at AZMVDNow.gov.

You may be required to pay a $50 fee to reinstate your suspension when it's due to Admin Per Se.

You must obtain proof of future financial responsibility if suspended for one of these reasons:

  • Court-conviction suspension for DUI (If suspended by MVD prior to conviction and it is your first suspension, then future financial responsibility may not be needed.  Contact MVD.)
  • Implied-consent suspension for refusal or failure to complete a drug or alcohol test
  • Violation of vehicle insurance laws

So, they certainly could have gotten their licenses suspended for things like not paying tickets, taxes, or keeping up with insurance.

In my state you can have your license suspended for child support lapses or library fines. I worked at my state DOT for 20 years, there were ridiculous things attached to drivers licenses.
