One of the guys, maybe his name is Drew? In some shots looks like George Costanza.

One woman, Jordan,  I swear was on the show on a previous season. Or maybe she's her twin.

I have no idea who that Vanderpump Person is, but she  was too excited about wanting to see Gordon yell at someone. And a DOG in a restaurant? Especially at the chefs table, right next to the kitchen. I love dogs, but not in a restaurant

I've heard of her but never watched that show so I'd never seen her before.  She hadn't been there 10 minutes before she started complaining.  I suppose that was in her script but it just made her look very entitled.  I'd never even heard of the guy at the other chef's table.

Neither of the cooks eliminated was a great loss.

The sous chefs supposedly tasted every dish before Gordon checked out the best and worst of them.  Not a single dish brought to him looked like anything was missing.

Dropping a huge crate of shrimp from a helicopter was a terrible and completely unnecessary waste of food.  It made me mad.

I think her name was Robyn; same hairstyle.

Please tell me all that dropped shrimp was fake? Plus all the meat you see in the background during talking heads.

Josh (?) looks like he could be Gordon's son. And holy anger management issues, Drew! So very creepy.

So the chef that didn’t clean her shrimp and couldn’t stop crying .... was that a set-up to win or at least be one of the strongest?

Regarding the second elimination ... the man eliminated ... think he was paid to say ‘no’ to being a better chef than the other?

Sorry about the lack of names.

Agree.  On the news last night, there was a segment about a Meals-on-Wheels guy in NYC.  They said that one in five seniors is not getting enough to eat.

Not to mention, they waste enough food on this show without several hundred creatures dying for ten seconds of pointless entertainment.  Those shrimp lying on the pavement better be plastic.

Lisa V. looks like she's hoping they'll serve Nikki's tears to her in a martini glass.  She's doing her best Cruella DeVanderpump.

Wayne Brady wishes he could go over and hug the chef taking a reaming.  Aww. ❤️

That's Wayne Brady, who's hosted Let's Make a Deal since 2009. Before that, he was on some summer comedy improv series for a few years in the 2000s.

As for the guys eliminated: one obviously didn't know how to cook (or at least GR hated his cooking), and the other was a total wallflower who GR dissed as not even being a chef.

Why the hell did Lisa Vanderpump bring that stupid little dog?

Supposedly, you can get away with it if you call your yapping pocket rat an "emotional support animal" or whatever.

Is Drew the guy whose head was always tilted in the TH segments?

^^^ Yes! I keep on waiting for him to "seductively" pose on a couch in boxers....

I don't know anyone's name yet. As usual, some chefs seem a bit extra and trying to hard to be "edgy." But this happens on most "reality competition" shows these days.

I'm just happy to have some new shows to watch.

The waste of food is distressing though. Always has been on this show.

Puffy, 8, Beverly Hills, CA.  Snerk.

“If I’m going too fast, keep up.” Mmm thanks, very helpful Christina!

Nikki better not go into the casinos, because she would lose her life savings as soon as anyone saw her immediate red blotchy face when embarrassed and stressed.

The appetizers have always looked very robust to me.  How do the diners have room for entrees AND desserts?  I wonder if food is wasted or if everyone brings a doggie bag home.

I mean, if I’m Wayne, I’m pretty stoked to have my food cooked by GRR, yeah?

“Are you a better chef than Drew?” Maybe. Perhaps.  I don’t understand the question?

Not that it matters, really, to Hell's Kitchen, but I have to say this about Wayne Brady.

He appeared as part of the improvisational team on "Who's Line Is It Anyway?'  Each person was pretty talented, but Wayne Brady was phenomenal.  The audience would call out a topic and a song style--cheese grater! pet dander! opera! bluegrass!--and immediately he'd belt out a song.  A song that fit the topic, that rhymed, that was clever and funny.  It was amazing.  He deserves more than a stupid reboot of Let's Make A Deal.

Enjoy that lamb chop, Wayne.

There is no way I would EVER choose to eat in that resto with all the yelling and swearing and throwing out of chefs from the kitchen. My stress level would skyrocket. Who could possibly enjoy that experience, even for tv face time and a free meal (maybe, no guarantees)? I mean, I dislike Lisa Vanderpump at her best...so of COURSE she had to be bitchy. But Wayne Brady, I love, and had to laugh at daughter's comment, I'm going to be able to order a drink by the time we get something for dinner! True dat.

I think we're thinking about the same person but I don't remember her name yet.  I'm glad it wasn't just me who thought she was a previous contestant.

I agree.  I think the fact that they filmed this so far before the pandemic isn't helping as we tend to see these things even worse now than we did back then.

*Sigh*.......despite that, I am very glad this show is back.  It provides a sense of "normalcy" during a very abnormal time in all our lives.  I'm actually finding it comforting.  There was a big gap in my TV schedule with no Ramsay in it and I was feeling it.

Oh, and so far I'm liking Declan.  He's older and seems more mature than the rest.  His facial expressions when I've caught them reacting to the others have been priceless so far, LOL.

Not gonna miss either bootee but it is nice that he got rid of someone right away.

That dog should not have been allowed in the working kitchen.  Don't care who she is.  And don't use the "therapy dog" card trick either.

I have no clue as to who or what Lisa Vanderpump did to become a celeb. But watching her in this episode, especially with her dog in a restaurant kitchen, tells me she is a giant POS.

The other celeb was at least a decent person, and one of the rare HK celebs that I actually have heard of, as opposed to the usual D List celebs.

As others have mentioned, that box of shrimp stunt was idiotic, and wasteful if it was real shrimp. Did absolutely nothing to further the show.

The right people went home today, although the first elim was pretty easy to call based on the girls being the type of characters that stick around half a season for drama, so it was obvious they weren’t getting the boot. Especially Robin Lite.

I rewatched the throwing out of the shrimp from the plane in slow motion a few times and even stopped it at the point of impact.  Think that the shrimp were fake.

That would be nice, but Gordon is also still throwing down what he considers poorly cooked pieces of fish and meat like he has been doing for years on this show and I'm sure those are not fake.

Agree about the food in the kitchen.  Think they could do something better.

Wayne Brady is a treasure. And Whose Line Is It Anyway is still going strong. It's a fun show, and it's great for a laugh in these depressing days. I love seeing WB show up on TV, even on Hell's Kitchen.

Topic, I used to love this show, but it's not really suiting me at the moment. The chefs are generally annoying, the food waste, the generally negative tone, etc. But how awkward was that chef at the end. Yikes. He just wanted out.

The blond woman who won at the beginning is definitely one of the contenders. There always seems to be just a few, and the rest are just TV fodder. I'll watch for now, for her and maybe Declan.

I hope it was.  Even if it was fake, however, it was presented as real and was an egregious example of food waste.  Can anyone imagine José Andres pulling a stunt like that?

Also hated all the food waste, assuming it was real.  Some of that stuff had to be salvageable, but that doesn't make for good TV.

I haven't watched HK in a while and I'm remembering why.  It's just not fun seeing people get screamed at and rush through cooking so they can win the competition.  I'll probably stick to MasterChef.

Obvious choice eliminating Elliot.  Even without the gazing off into space bit, he tried to blame his teammates for his error because of the "lack of communication."  Who would trust him after that?

IA that Drew looks ready to explode.  He may be a good chef, but I can see why people are wary of him.

Yeah, the sous chefs were cutting the food up, mixing it around, examining whether it was cooked properly by cutting into it.  And then GR gets a perfectly intact dish.

Just wanted to add that Whose Line Is It Anyway? airs on the CW.  Wayne Brady is amazing on it (and I enjoy the others as well-all very talented).  I believe Wayne Brady was also in Kinky Boots and he appeared in the final season of Colony.  So, he is more famous than most of the "celebrities" that Gordon brings in (IMO).

I'm pretty sure that in HK as well as Top Chef the contestants have to prepare multiple versions of the same dish for close up shots, etc.

I'm sure that's exactly the case but, when they don't present it that way, it just looks fishy to me.

And then there's poor Ted on Chopped.  The cheftestants have to create one pristine dish in addition to the three they give the judges.  Ted has said he never gets to taste anything.

Other than Syann and Declan, I don't recall anyone's name. There's the purple-wigged chick and the teeny, yelpy dude who is in constant need of attention, strange beard guy...but I don't know their names. Don't know what's missing for me this season. Since this was filmed before Covid, I can't blame that. I'm just not connecting with the cheftestants.

Declan looks like taking a few steps leaves him winded. Whoever said he's not long for the season is probably right. Pity because I kinda like him.
