Kelli & Judy fight through adversity to announce the new squad. Charlotte Jones is featured.

As always, this is a spoiler free topic. Yes, this is the final episode, but anything that happened after the end of training camp should not be discussed; please keep discussion to this specific episode.

If Hannah had been put back in her element on the field/decks, she would have shined. Imagine someone ripping you away from everything you loved. How would you feel? I don't blame Hannah at all.

And at the time this was filmed.... when things were still so bewildering and difficult and confusing - COVID- racial injustice - the world was crap (we are more numb to it now but it was still so raw when this was filmed). They ripped their sisterhood away from them for no real reason.  Decisions are clearly never only performance based - They are nothing more than Kelli's impulsive desires to increase dramatization. And it worked - ratings and buzz way up and Kelli's on cameo for $299.

I would have liked to see them in the boots with vets and rookies first.  I guess they already decided before TCC started?  So odd and seems unfair.

While I am thankful the season existed at all,  I feel the veterans cut (especially the three tonight) did not earn their cuts.  I also feel the editing leaves a lot of questions vs. answers.  Lily said “I wish I would have know sooner” Brennan said “I don’t like the direction this team is heading.”  Hannah seemed to indicate that she was frustrated at the handling of everything with the cuts.  We get bits and pieces of the cuts but never the whole thing.  I also think the 2 rookies that were cut were blindsided as well.
Last week’s show was a waste of time and this week’s show was disappointing.  (And come on,  There are stadium tours but you can’t invite families with masks and social distancing in that big stadium to see the team on the field??🤷‍♀️)

Lastly, Judy and Kelli seem to pat themselves on the back frequently and also seem to think pretty highly of themselves.

Agree 100%

Lily and Brennan both looked gorgeous on the video. Those cuts were BS. Brennan almost found her inner Megan Ashley from a few years ago. I could feel her dying to tell off Kelli then change her mind. Kelli could have been a little more sensitive when cutting all those girls. I felt like I missed an episode because there was no real explanation for those cuts. And we missed VK getting a talking to by Kelli then Brennen. I’m starting to wonder what it would take to get VK kicked off this team. What direction was Brennan talking about that she didn’t like? So many questions unanswered.

I really don't think Alora-Rose or Jessica deserved to make it over any of the other candidates (rookies or vets) that were cut.

I also feel like besides that time Kelli and Judy said they like Sydney's style, we barely ever got to see her dance. I thought she looked good performing after she made the team though.

Agreed! Jessica was bland and Alora-Rose had lots of mistakes the first few days. I would have loved to have seen more deliberations about the vet cuts and why those two were kept.

^^^I agree with all of the above times a million.

Judy and Kelly act like they're infallible. While I understand that the buck stops with them (and so to a certain extent whether or not their decisions are always correct doesn't matter because it won't change the final team), I think we all know that they've made some pretty questionable choices on who makes the team.

Loved how Brennan, Lily, and Hannah reacted tonight. They all showed how much they cared about their teammates and being on this team.

When Brennan said "I already know Lily's been cut... I'm disappointed in the direction this team is headed..." and when Hannah said "I'm out in the hallway comforting my teammmates", I gained so much respect for the both of them. They each handled their cuts with so much dignity.

Also, I was annoyed when Kelly was talking about Tori having poise. I have so much respect for Tori (and I'm sorry that I called her a mean girl after episode 1, she didn't deserve that). However, I feel like Kelli was trying to contrast Tori's reaction to Brennan and Hannah's (or at least that's what it seemed the show was trying to imply by showing all the cuts so close together), which is frustrating because women are allowed to be upset when they lose out on something important to them.

Kelly talking about Tina getting cut made me wonder: would Kelly have cut Tina had she been director of the team at the time?

I didn't understand why the "last time on field" could be recorded for games , then why could it be streamed live for the families? Esp. those families who were unable or uncomfortable with traveling to TX?

The families would have understood if there were a few takes or they had to pause a routine and make corrections, they just want to see their loved one dance.

Once Kelli had to part with her precious Meredith, all bets were off with regards to the vets. If she had to lose her favorite, she sure as hell wasn’t about to keep fan favorites that she was always lukewarm on. Kat and Kristin dodged a bullet but I guess they had filled their quota of long haired blondes so they could afford to drop a couple more rookies. Weird that she said she couldn’t see Tori or Ashlyn replacing a veteran, but there was no issue with some of the others. They were wiling to take the risk with Alora-Rose? Guess Kelli really wasn’t willing to cut someone with the Rockettes on her resume.

Really awful for Lily, Hannah and Brennan to get the boot via zoom. Kinda love that they didn’t bother hiding their irritation. Hannah looked ready to hang up the second she saw Kelli. Rather telling that there was no parting scene with any of them, but we did see Tori and Ashlyn exit the building.

I sure would like to know where the ladies were exiting "TO".

The hotel was their home... and it was beyond late. Before when they were cut, at least they had a place off site to return, then make arrangements to leave the area, move elsewhere, etc.  So now it was o-dark-30, and they were told to pack their entire hotel room, to be escorted out via a hotel luggage cart, to go off site where....

Wow....just wow.  Even though I knew from reading spoilers that this was going to happen, it was much worse than I thought.  I've watched this show since the very first episode, and I don't recall ever fast-forwarding through a single minute, but tonight I did.  Especially towards the end.  Just couldn't handle seeing Phil and remembering he usually comes out during happy times.  Reveal day is always the highlight of the season, but not this time.

I could have easily found 3 rookies to dump over Lily, Hannah and Brennan.  For sure Alora Rose.  Sydney didn't impress me much either (though I loved her makeover).  Speaking of rookies, can Kelli be any more dense to gush to the one rookie (can't remember her name) that she had been everyone's favorite out of all the candidates......at the time she was giving her the boot???  Talk about crass.

Based on her solo performance alone, Hannah should have aced a spot on the team.  No ifs ands or buts.  You could see poor Lily hoping against hope at the beginning of the Zoom call that she was being singled out to discuss problems, but quickly realized she was being cut.  Meredith was called in twice before her cut, I think, and both Brennan and Hannah were talked to at least once, but I don't remember Lily being given that courtesy.  If I'm correct, that stinks, since they did that already once to her.

Even though I'm not a fan of Kelli's right now, I think it was kind of crummy for Charlotte to waltz in and take the one big moment of announcing the girls made the team away from Kelli.  This was a really stressful and complicated year administratively, and Kelli had to do a lot of the dirty work too, so it's only fair she get to give out the news the girls were anxiously waiting to hear.  I'm pretty sure Charlotte has done the same thing before, but I still don't think it's right.

Judy seemed really stressed out directing the girls on the field.  She was practically screaming at them.  I'd like to scream at her for yet another bad pick for point.   What is their fascination with Maddie?  Yes, she's a good dancer and teammate, but lint is more exciting.

lol, this. the vets had much more to lose, under way more painful circumstances. you can't really compare the reactions of girls who have been trying + on the team for 1-5 years to that of someone who tried out and has been there like two weeks.

i'm also shocked jessica made the team since she's been boring and meh the whole way through. they love their blondes

lmaoooo at judy shutting up the girls cheering rachel w for getting 2nd point

i'm super excited to see who retires and who the one-and-dones will be

I really felt for Lily because she point blank asked Kelli if she was getting cut and instead of simply replying "YES," Kelli still had to speechify and spit out her whole memorized little spiel. The exact exchange:

Lily: It is heartbreaking, for lack of better words, if I will not continue to wear this uniform. Is this what you're telling me in this conversation? That I will no longer be on this team?
Kelli: You have been an excellent first year cheerleader. Lily, I'm afraid we are moving toward our final team of 36 and I'm sorry, the scores are not ranking you on this year's team.

And then for Kelli to have the nerve to cry afterward? Give me a break. I don't care how hard you think it was to cut a vet over zoom. I guarantee it was ten times worse for Lily so stop your little pity party and acting like you're the victim in all of this!

I didn't mind Brennan speaking up either. Once you know you've been cut, you are no longer obligated to say, "YES, MA'AM" to whatever bullshit Kelli says and then meekly shrink into the corner.

When Kelli told Hannah she didn't want to drag out the conversation "out of respect for Hannah," I just rolled me eyes. Yes, what an altruistic gesture on Kelli's part.

I loved when Kelli asked why Hannah wasn't in her room and Hannah said she was in the hallway COMFORTING HER TEAMMATES.

More nonsensical COVID protocols - after Judy announced the first triangle formation and they ran through the roll off counts, Kelli was the ONLY person wearing a mask. WTF? Also ridiculous - Kelli was wearing a mask when Phil came on the field with a mask pulled under his chin. Her reaction to an unmasked person was TO REMOVE HER MASK. So she needed protection while she was talking to the team from a distance but she didn't need protection when Phil arrived? Okay then. And then they told all the girls to remove their masks so that Charlotte could hand out uniforms to the rookies from less than six feet away. You know that Phil and Charlotte didn't quarantine at the hotel with the girls so this just highlighted what absolute bullshit the mask theater of this training camp was.

I guess I was supposed to feel sorry for Dani when she said that it was hard to remember all the formations on top of the choreography but I didn't. You are now a professional cheerleader so get it together. When I was in high school, we would get one week to learn a dance (and by one week, I mean that five days a week, we had a 50 minute class period which included time in the locker room to change in and out of our dance clothes at the beginning and of the period so it amounted to about 30 minutes of actual dance time) and then we would hold an audition to see who was going to perform it, block the formations, run through the counts for all the roll offs (all done in the dance room), and perform the dance on the football field or the basketball court.

It was nice to watch the girls do the signature dance together in their uniforms but I was surprised that Kelli/Charlotte/DCC allowed CMT to show footage of their crooked kickline and some of those less than stellar kicks.

Judy seemed genuinely sad for the girls that they didn't get the usual meet the team experience with their families in the stands which I thought was a nice human moment.

I liked Sydney's curly hair but I wish they had let Armani keep her hair shorter. I think it looked cuter at the length it was during training camp. I wish we'd seen more of Elli throughout the season. She was such a great dancer in the snippets we saw of her during rehearsal but I guess since she wasn't ever in consideration for being cut, she didn't merit more air time.

This!  So many breaches yet they act like they've done such a great job keeping everyone safe.  Phil brings the rookie uniforms out and the girls come up one by one to get theirs and then stand in a line, probably 2 feet apart, without masks.  One second masks are oh so important, and the next they are all removing them at the same time, sitting so close they are practically touching shoulders, to receive the surprising (eyeroll) announcement that they made the team........and as they quietly squeal with delight, each and every girl instinctively (double eyeroll) keeps their hands and arms to themselves so they won't contaminate their fellow cheerleaders.

1. Charlotte just gets skinnier every year. She needs to spend more time at The Burger House.

2. The vet cuts were brutal, and I love that none of them let Kelli off easily.

3. I feel sad for this squad. This group of rookies won’t even get to dance on the turf. I feel like this squad should just get to be on the team next year..... how can anyone really improve when you don’t really get to do anything? I hope all of these girls make it back next year.

4. Maddie as point is 👎. Retire already. My girl Gina got robbed.

If the show had edited things realistically this season, their attitudes would have made sense to the viewers. The vets were wise to speak up and their comments including Lily's " I wish I had known sooner" are particularly telling. DCC has its priorities completely mixed up.

I agree! I’m just confused as to why Kelli said Brennan has never been a wow dancer this year but kept bringing her back to training camp. Was Lily ever called into the office this training camp before she was cut? I was also really hoping for Gina to be point. Maddie just doesn’t look mature enough to be up there especially when she’s got Lexie and Gina on either side. Also, Rachel W. is beautiful but I don’t find her dancing to be that exciting.

Exactly.  As Kelli was cutting the 3 vets and they were showing their displeasure, I kept hoping Judy would step up and say something.  If it was edited out, then shame on the show, because in regards to critiquing their performance, Judy's opinions carry a lot more weight, IMO, than Kelli's.  At least in regards to being cut.  Kelli told Brennan she was performing at the level she did her rookie year.  How is Brennan supposed to react to that?  Exactly the way she did, arguing that she had worked very hard to improve and was in tip top shape and felt her dancing was the best it's ever been.  This is when we needed to hear Judy's comments.  Judy can drill down and really explain what was lacking in their performance to get to the point they had no other choice but to cut them.  It still hurts, but the girl (and the audience), gets a better idea of what they were seeing rather than just assuming Kelli doesn't like them.

Kelli makes me mad, but I grudgingly understand she has a pretty tough job.  Not only does she have to answer to Charlotte and the Board of Directors, but a million women want her job and one or two in particular (KaShira and yes, I'm saying it....Jinelle) are breathing down her neck.  Not to mention but I'm going to every former DCC who expects special treatment for their little darling who's planned their whole life since they were in the womb to following in Mommy's footsteps.  What started out as a sweet little reality show that didn't have a problem giving girls who had no dance experience at least a chance, has now become a huge ratings bonanza and gives the Cowboys organization the kind of free media exposure a company can only dream of.  Kelli's title may say she runs the show, but for a long time now it's Charlotte and the Board, as well as the Making The Team Producers, who make the big decisions.  I don't think Kelli would have kept Meredith or Kat last year but was told she had to.
