I think the next one might end up being Elizabeth, tbh. She's pretty much at the heart of this and she'll want to know what happened to both Sam and Dex since she was the nurse in charge of them at the time of their deaths.

So if she starts puzzling this whole thing out, Cyrus might come for her next.

And Lucky will storm into the trauma room declaring it’s a digitalis overdose so they know how to treat it.

I was surprised that [Dex's] exit wasn’t leaked.

Same, and I'm mildly impressed. But Dex has always been expendable, and even though moving him to the PCPD was an attempt to anchor him more strongly into the show, he was still basically Random Rookie Copy Whose Portrayer Happened to Be on Contract. His sob-story history wasn't developed or interesting enough for me to care about it.

I don't care if it makes sense at all, can Natalia be Cyrus's next victim?  I'll accept any and every reason.

I don't need a reason for Noted Bigot Natalia to fall to Cyrus. I just want her gone.

but to ask what a bowl game is? Does she not consume any sort of media at all?

not if you don't do sports. the only "Bowl Game" i know is Super Bowl. oh wait. and Rose Bowl.

Then you know what a bowl game is. But Trina hasn't heard of the Super Bowl, at least?

Dex was doomed when he wasn't given any purpose other than to give Joss orgasms. They had him talk about how he was having issues with the other cadets but never showed any of it.  He had no friends of his own - everyone he spent time with when he wasn't working was Joss' friends. He had a few moments with Molly and that could have lead to something interesting but the show replaced him with Isaiah as the rando Molly opens up to. Dex didn't get the insta family connection of being someone's long lost brother or son. I'm not surprised at all he's been killed off.

"When you become a cop I thought that you'd be safe."  Joss appears to have confused 'cop' with 'librarian'.

She should have demanded he find a safer career, like roofer, logger or powerline worker. And now he's dead.  Didn't see that coming.

In all seriousness, I would agree with @Grinaldi that there's been too many deaths. Dex would have been a fine side character: he turns up when uniformed cops are doing something, but other than that we assume he's got a good life in PC off-screen.

Joss: How could Willow cheat on Michael?

Me: Considering she cheated with Michael, it isn't that hard to believe, Joss.

I think many people in town know about Ned and Katherine Bell. I'm sure it's easy to find information like that online. And I think that was Drew's point: "Don't throw stones." Tracy & Ned acted like what he did was morally reprehensible to them when they have done equally, or way worse, things. And Tracy can shut it by acting like Alan was above that type of behavior. He may not have slept with his nephew's wife, but he did drop a house on her (and her lover) and physically assaulted her a couple of times. I also don't get Tracy's rationale of "Well, you had sex with her in this house, so that makes it our business." How does that work?

I liked the look on Willow's face when confronted by Carly at the end. I don't think she will cower to Carly. I hope their faux mother-daughter relationship is over. Willow is those kids' mother, and she doesn't have to answer to Carly about what she does with them, especially not on Quartermaine property. Carly should be all about the mother's rights, given how strongly she tried to keep AJ from his child.

But, yeah, Sasha and Michael can have several seats.

From the preview, it looks like Carly's too busy fighting her son's battles for him to answer Joss's calls, so she gets Jason to help her mourn.

Drew has Jason’s memories through 2012 instead of his own. Courtesy of Dr. Maddox’s memory transfer procedure.  So I presume Jason was aware of those facts.

Today's episode made up for the boring Ava/Ric and Q party yesterday. Good payoffs.

Tracy was really having a ball, between plotting with Ned (I think she showed that tape deliberately to get Drew out), taunting Nina and being smug with Drew. Well done, JE.

Ditto WK.

Carly hasn't realized that Michael is no longer 5 years old. She really needs to butt out but being Carly, she won't.  "Michael gave you a family, how could you do this to him?"  Odds are Michael sleeping with Sasha will be totally okay in her eyesj (How I hate that Sasha is pregnant.)

They're written so badly, as well as Kai being just the most perfect person that ever personed. I'm not impressed with Trina knowing nothing about football ('tell me what a defensive ender is'), I had hoped that the days of woman having to play stupid for a man were done. Did Taggart never watch football with her when she was younger?

My computer keeps trying to correct that spelling.😠

Mostly I use etransfers these days. And the waiter taking a credit card back to the machine seems so strange now that most are done at the table in Canada. (Fun fact: that's because there are only 5 major banks in Canada so it's easy to program. The US has many more banks so it's harder to connect everything.)

The worst part was Trina saying she didn’t know what a bowl game was.  F’ing seriously?  The Super Bowl and the various other pro and college bowl games are hard to ignore in the US.  Even if she never saw a football game in her life.

Maybe Portia sheltered her from that information, to protect her precious spawn.

Yeah riiiiight, Kai pulls out a thrilling victory QBing a rivalry/play off game, but instead of celebrating with the team, he sits  quietly in a breezeway having the most boring conversation ever with Trina.

I can't decide if offing Dex was figuratively or literally "removing some deadwood."

I hope the killin' keeps a'coming! Check that list twice, Cyrus!

Cyrus is Santa this year!  Bringing us gifts we want.  Unfortunately, Carly has too much plot armor to bump her off.  But CD is leaving so maybe………..

it honestly doesn't matter.
I'm Canadian where hockey matters and I live in Toronto where the Leafs are like what anyone talks about. but until 2000 - I couldn't tell you what the Stanley Cup was. I didn't know the leafs existed. people couldn't believe it but when you grow up in a household where they don't care about it, and they subscribe to other forms of media that isn't your town's local news you simply don't know these things.  it's really not that far fetched.

again the only reason why I know about a rose bowl, is because i heard people talk about it during the super bowl. and even then I wouldn't even really link the two together every time i heard X bowl.

I thought this episode was a double dose of karma for Willow cheating on Chase with Michael, and Joss cheating on Cameron with Dex. Humiliation in front of their family in a cheating scandal after they unapologetically screwed over Chase, who got to see the show and is now happily married. Joss has her boyfriend taken away from her permanently a couple weeks before the 2-year anniversary of her unapologetically cheating on her previous best friend-boyfriend with this current boyfriend (who was waiting outside to comfort her after she broke Cam's heart). And Trina still doesn't know that Joss cheated on Cam.  Meanwhile Cameron is off in California having a great new life and I thought Elizabeth had mentioned a while ago that he has a girlfriend there.

Well, Carly certainly raised her children to take after her.

I can’t believe I’m defending Joss here (even if it’s just a little bit).  But cheating on your your boyfriend isn’t quite as bad as cheating on your spouse, especially when you have children together.

That said, did you really think Carly Jr. could be anything less than a self righteous hypocrite.

I know nothing about football, nor do I want to. And if my father watched a game, it certainly wasn’t with me. It has nothing to do with being stupid for a man. Not everyone likes football. Or any sport. I’m not thrilled with her sudden interest in him and the game, but if she wants to learn, great. If she doesn’t, that’s okay too.

I’m a guy, and I don’t watch a lot of football.  I despise the NFL since they got political, and really only give a crap about the Washington State Cougars in college ball (Go Cougs!).  So no, not every guy watches football.

It doesn't, but then why not just have Trina say she doesn't follow football? Instead the show doubles down on her knowing absolutely nothing—I'm surprised she didn't ask Kai what a touchdown is. Instead, she could have said, "The only football I know is played with a round ball on a pitch." That would fit in with her snooty attitude toward him up to that point.

She did. To Joss, to Kai, to anyone else who asked.

They should have left it there.

Dex was fine as a background character.  Someone to show up at, say, a break-in at Windemere, rather than sending a detective that should be on bereavement leave.

I wish Sonny was still there to watch Ava and Ric both not be able to pay their bill. I understood Ava's, Why would Ric card not work? He's broke with no savings?

He overspent on his credit card having banked Ava's cheque. When the cheque bounced, he was overextended on his credit cards.

Or the Rose Bowl Parade, televised all over. Trina is supposed to be very smart and aware of the world. Even I, in Canada and caring only about football because we got shortened classes on game days (Go Malvern!), knew that a bowl game was something important.

The Trina who we've been shown the past few years would have asked Kai intelligent questions about what he does as a quarterback, the roles of the  ends (not 'ender's), how he feels about his leadership responsibilities as QB. The dim lines they gave her were not worthy.

Dex became less like a block of wood and more like a real boy when the show moved him into the police. I guess the show only wanted him as set dressing because now he's gone.
