I thought SB did give more than usual but it still wasn’t much. I thought NLG was at times a bit too much but at other times was amazing.

I hated how Dante and Rocco found out. (Rocco and Danny don’t look anything alike to me)

Michael is so sleezey. As is Drew.

I like Cody a lot with Mac and Maxie but I don’t know if he’s enough to make me care about him in a couple.

I was struck by how alone Alexis is.  She was literally alone at the hospital, and apart from her two immature, dysfunctional daughters, there is no one else prominent in her life.  They've sent Finn off, Gregory and Nicholas are dead, Valentin is (hopefully permanently) on the run.  Who else is left?  Diane?  Sonny?  Who will grieve with her, and support her?  Maybe Ned can lend a shoulder.

I'm still mad they killed off Gregory, for both Alexis' and Tracy's sake.

Now that Michael has had sex with both Sasha and Willow, is it possible that Willow and Drew end up having grief sex after learning about Sam and not only do we get a double pregnancy with a possible baby switch, but we also get a who’s the daddy story with Willow’s baby?

Willow would need to find out about Michael/Sasha soon to make that happen. She didn't look too sympathetic to Drew when he was trying to explain about spilling to Michael without giving her a heads up.

I can't believe Michael and Willow are going to have sex after this. CD is decidedly not a soap hunk.

I was so hoping Michael took a shower before he went home. Ugh.

I thought the whole thing was well done, but I hated this for KeMo having to play dead while people are eulogizing Sam. At this rate, the funeral might be open casket just to torture her more. I did feel tears in the back of my eyes, though, especially when Alexis crawled into bed with Sam to keep her warm.

Agree with all this.   And Sam should get an award for "best corpse." She really did look dead.

And i think the paying off was to leave Willow alone, which is just stupid.

I thought Drew paid off Cody to keep him from telling Michael about the second kiss? (Although, too late! Loose Lips Sasha took care of that already.) Or maybe to keep him from telling Willow about the Nina sex? Or possibly all of the above.

For a former teacher, Willow isn’t all that bright. She already knows part of her Drew Smooch History got out, yet she has total faith everyone will keep quiet about Part 2? This is the kind of soap contrivance that irritates me no end.

Did I miss the part where Sam collapsed? Because I saw her laughing with Alexis, and the next thing I knew Alexis was coming out of the room shaking her head. I find it very odd that a show that won’t let any drop of drama go unsqueezed would let the actual death happen offscreen?

SBu was good in his farewell scene (I say grudgingly). I just hope Dante gets equal time. And why wasn’t either of Sam’s sisters there post surgery?

Sam didn't wanna see them because she was as tired of them as we are.

The previews where Laura says "is it Lulu?" made me so mad.  I am sorry, I love Genie so much, but Laura has been getting on my nerves for a while now.  And I view her literally as licking her lips when Sam said yes, and now I view her as someone who would have gladly made this trade if she had been asked beforehand.  "Sam for Lulu?"  Laura would have said, get it done.  If I was Alexis I would go for her throat before anyone could stop me.

I too feel old.  I always loved Sam, and it doesn't seem it's possible 20 years have passed, but they have.  The only thing that will make this better for me is if she lands at Y & R and is paired with Jason Thompson again.

He did. They showed him with wet hair, Sasha too. So I guess there’s that at least. It was still gross that he went straight from his cheating bed to fucking his wife. I really want Willow to find out and kick both him and Sasha to the curb. But mostly him.

Oh hell no! JT’s Billy Abbott is horrible and not even KMc could fix that. KeMo deserves so much better. Besides, the writing at YR is just as bad if not worse than at GH.

LOL I haven't seen his Billy, I don't watch Y & R.  It's that bad huh?  That's a shame, I had this little hope...

And I imagine they’ll have to perform an autopsy to determine cause of death.

I thought it was weird that Portia kept saying the hospital will "investigate" Sam's death with no mention of an autopsy. That should be the first step. But then, this is GH, where competence is never a sure thing.

If GH is true to form, Willow will forgive her turd husband and freeze out Sasha, because it's always the wimmins fault when a man sleeps with her.

I mean, Sasha should be frozen out for blabbing to Cody but of course she’ll be mostly blamed for boinking Michael. Because St. Michael can do no wrong and would NEVER cheat on his wife unless the hussy coerced him 🙄

Drew is truly the worst father. Not even going to Scout when he found out. Just sitting with Carly.

JFC, at least Jason is there for the kids. Never thought Drew would be worse than Jason in being a father. Though he should have consulted with Drew before telling Scout. She is not his daughter.

Out of the kids Rocco did the best with the reaction. Danny's actor is too smiley. I was shocked Rocco could have more than a blank expression for once. He was better than MB.

Sam had to play at being corpse again today.

I didn't expect Rocco's reaction, and I thought that Scout's confusion made a lot of sense for someone so young. I thought there was just enough grief there. I don't think she can cry on cue like the Violet actress, so there's that.

Alexis should have told Molly and Kristina that Sam died, then kicked them out. Why is the landlord letting people into the PH anyway?

Drew is just vile. I guess he knew that Carly had no idea about him and Willow because Carly's Cujo mode wasn't activated. Also, feeling obligated to write Carly into this is just lame, although I was hoping we would get a flashback of Sam slapping the daylight out of her or reading her for filth.

I don't care about Laura's feelings and I'm assuming that Lulu will miraculously wake up sometime during sweeps because Sam's liver will have fixed the brain injury too. I've just always disliked Lulu.

Insult to injury to Kelly, making her lie there as everyone weeps over her. Poor Kelly.

Hard to know who is the worse parent -- Holly who had the flimsiest and most selfish reason for not telling Robert about Sasha (ey, maybe Sasha would have liked to grow up having a father), and Drew who sits there with Carly looking stunned while his daughter is hearing that she just lost her mother from Jason.

Who'd have thought that Spinelli would win the good parent prize in this episode.

Also on loathsome people, Kristina is a flake but Molly just can't stop bashing her over the head with her superiority. Hey, Sam would have appreciated what both of you did.

Dishonourable mention goes to Portia who just says "we will investigate" when if Trina had died, she would have been tearing down the walls.

Nah Nah Willow shouldn't be a cheater and be kissing someone  that isn't her husband. Considering she wants to fuck her husband's nasty Uncle she can take a seat. 2 kisses don't mean nothing? Yes the hell it does

Since Willow cheated on her previous husband with Michael, I have less than no sympathy for him. Also, I don't like Drew or Willow as characters, but there's something weirdly misogynistic about this. Like, she's in the wrong but didn't actually sleep with Drew so she's not really a [insert Sonny Corinthos language here), so it's acceptable for Michael to eventually reconcile with her, and he actually slept with Sasha, but he's a man and thought he'd been betrayed, what do you expect he and his penis to do?

Just let Drew and Willow fuck, Jesus.

Their bickering is so tiresome.

Didn't Alexis ask Jason to tell Danny (right?) and Scout about Sam's death? Or he offered to do it and she said okay? Either way, Jason's talk with them was pretty good.

DZ did a great job. I liked his talk in Sam's room better than Alexis's and Jason's.

Drew really can't read the room. Carly comes to the Q mansion obviously looking upset, and he has to snark about her being there. Then he insists on first talking in the hall, because he's too much of a jerk to go into the living room. Ugh.

I've never seen Laura cross herself.

I am going to say that i don't think it's misogynstic. she didn't sleep with Drew (and i've been screaming to just. do it already) - but an emotional affair is still exactly that. and of course for a lot of people it is worse because it's not just about the sex. if the writers knew how to write that would have been articulated (PERIOD). but the fact that Willow IS a cheater. i don't really care either way.

Sasha’s her friend, so I do think the bare minimum she owed her was telling her that there was someone else out there who knew her secret and could blow her life apart. Though, in Sasha’s defense I don’t think it occurred to her that Cody would tell anyone.

I thought that was super weird. Since yesterday he was acting like it was up to him to tell both kids, even though one isn’t his. It was even weirder that he knew that Drew should know & told Carly that. I thought after he said that he would say “because we need to tell the kids together.” But, no, he just decided he would do it on his own.

Drew just found out and was shocked. Before we see him sitting down with Carly, he asks where Scout is. I’m assuming that Carly told him Jason was already telling them right then and was bringing them back to the house as soon as he had.

Spinelli’s been shown to be a good father before. It wasn’t a surprise to me.

I wanted to smack Molly. What Kristina did wasn’t just a gesture. What both of them did was just keeping in line with their personalities. Molly did something more practical, but what Kristina did was more about what would have put Sam at ease and help her have some fun and feel normal while recuperating. She was just looking for a reason to put Kristina down.

You can’t always help how you feel about people. You can help how you react. Willow already knows kissing Drew was wrong. She’s been trying to do what she can to stop those feelings from progressing, or at least not put herself in a position to act on them. She quit her job. She’s asked Drew to stay away. Unlike Michael, she’s actually trying to keep it in her pants. Maybe Sasha should take a seat, preferably not on Michael’s crotch again.

Crossing oneself is a Catholic think to do. (I like how Murdoch Mysteries makes a point of it.) I find it hard to believe that Laura is Catholic.

Isn't it generally understood that what you tell one person in a relationship is likely to be told to the other?

I don’t recall him snarking at her. He made a light-hearted comment of surprise that she was there. His insistence on not going inside reminds me of plenty of scenes like that where someone asks the person to “sit down” or to go to another room to talk, when they have bad news to give. It’s clear the other person knows something’s up and just wants them to get it over with.

I was annoyed at Laura when I saw the previews, but her reaction makes more sense in the scene. If she had only seen Alexis crying and reacted like that, it would have been weird. I don’t think she even saw Alexis. She sees Dante and Rocco crying. It makes sense she assumes it’s about Lulu. I also liked that later when Laura says something about how it shouldn’t have happened and Alexis agrees, you can see Laura realize that her being there isn’t helping and she leaves as soon as possible.

I think that the act of crossing oneself has been appropriated by the general public as a means of asking for divine intervention, hence the many athletes who employ it.  Similarly, the rosary, which seemed to be a fashion statement for a while.  Funny that none of the other fashion from the nunnery took root.

Not necessarily. Plus, I don’t even think Sasha and Cody were together at that point.

I guess being at work helped me from full-on bawling yesterday. Today, I was not so lucky. I started crying when Alexis held Dante’s face and told him how happy Sam was about the engagement before she closed her eyes and didn’t wake-up. Dante’s sobbing was heartbreaking.

Another person I wanted to throttle today was Sonny. Dante is asking Alexis what happened and she’s trying to respond and Sonny barks out “what the hell happened?” His impatient tone was infuriating. Maybe give the grieving mother a chance to find the words. To his credit, his behavior afterwards was much better. He was helpful and much less self-involved than I would have imagined. It’s kind of a low bar, but it was one of the best performances I’ve seen from MB in a while.

I thought Jason handled the kids well. Both child actors did okay. Before Jason even said anything, I could see Danny could tell that something was wrong. Scout’s reaction felt true to how someone that age would react.

God, Sam can’t even die without the writers finding some excuse to blow smoke up Carly’s ass.

Alexis is a better person than me. When she walked in on Kristina and Molly arguing again, I wouldn’t have blamed her if she just blurted out Sam was dead and threw them out.

Usually, I would probably roll my eyes at the Zenon in-joke, but I thought it was a nice moment of levity in such a heavy episode. I was expecting Spin & Maxie to find out about Sam today, but I’m glad they had a happy night before finding out that news. I would say the show was sparing Maxie find out on her birthday, but I’m not sure the show remembers it should be. Why is the show always so inconsistent with Maxie’s birthday?

Even from that brief shot of Spinelli in the previews, I can tell BA is probably going to make me cry for a third show in a row.

I get you. And I do think an emotional affair is as bad or worse than just some one-night stand or the like. But I don't think the show agrees. It's not just this couple or even this show (I'm reminded of OLTL's Rex & Gigi, for reasons I probably shouldn't go into here), but it just feels like soap women are held to a different standard of sexual purity than men. Michael is allowed to act out sexually and I suspect Willow will end up shouldering some of the blame for his cheating, but we can't let her get too down and dirty herself or Michael would look weak for ever taking her back (admittedly that's speculation on my part, but I'm pretty confident the show considers them a root-for couple and won't split them permanently).

I don't know, I might be reading too much into a lazy story or making assumptions about the writers' thinking, but the whole vibe of it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

They absolutely are. Same IRL. No one goes around calling men sluts or whores. And the woman is always the one who gets the blame. The poor weak man can't help where his penis goes!

I don't blame Sasha for telling Cody what Willow had told her. It was an impossible situation for Sasha, who had been in a relationship with Michael and still cared about him. Willow should not have asked her to keep the secret. And as  @dubbel  zout said, it's generally understood that partners tell each other everything.

And while Sasha feels terrible about what she did, she's not the adulterer, Michael is.

Jason knows Scout because he moved back in with Sam, Danny and Scout after Sam divorced Drew. Not sure if he was ever her legal stepfather though - maybe someone with a better memory than I have can confirm if Sam re-married and then re-divorced Jason. Sam and Jason acted like he was the father of both kids for the years Drew was presumed dead (from when Billy Miller got fired 'til CM returned as "Drew"). They would say "our kids" or "the kids." However, Scout was close to/had Dante as a father figure by the time nuDrew arrived. She had to be re-introduced to him because she was much younger when BM's Drew was presumed dead.
