I think the next one might end up being Elizabeth, tbh. She's pretty much at the heart of this and she'll want to know what happened to both Sam and Dex since she was the nurse in charge of them at the time of their deaths.

So if she starts puzzling this whole thing out, Cyrus might come for her next.

And Lucky will storm into the trauma room declaring it’s a digitalis overdose so they know how to treat it.

I was surprised that [Dex's] exit wasn’t leaked.

Same, and I'm mildly impressed. But Dex has always been expendable, and even though moving him to the PCPD was an attempt to anchor him more strongly into the show, he was still basically Random Rookie Copy Whose Portrayer Happened to Be on Contract. His sob-story history wasn't developed or interesting enough for me to care about it.

I don't need a reason for Noted Bigot Natalia to fall to Cyrus. I just want her gone.

not if you don't do sports. the only "Bowl Game" i know is Super Bowl. oh wait. and Rose Bowl.

Then you know what a bowl game is. But Trina hasn't heard of the Super Bowl, at least?

Dex was doomed when he wasn't given any purpose other than to give Joss orgasms. They had him talk about how he was having issues with the other cadets but never showed any of it.  He had no friends of his own - everyone he spent time with when he wasn't working was Joss' friends. He had a few moments with Molly and that could have lead to something interesting but the show replaced him with Isaiah as the rando Molly opens up to. Dex didn't get the insta family connection of being someone's long lost brother or son. I'm not surprised at all he's been killed off.

"When you become a cop I thought that you'd be safe."  Joss appears to have confused 'cop' with 'librarian'.

She should have demanded he find a safer career, like roofer, logger or powerline worker. And now he's dead.  Didn't see that coming.

In all seriousness, I would agree with @Grinaldi that there's been too many deaths. Dex would have been a fine side character: he turns up when uniformed cops are doing something, but other than that we assume he's got a good life in PC off-screen.

I think many people in town know about Ned and Katherine Bell. I'm sure it's easy to find information like that online. And I think that was Drew's point: "Don't throw stones." Tracy & Ned acted like what he did was morally reprehensible to them when they have done equally, or way worse, things. And Tracy can shut it by acting like Alan was above that type of behavior. He may not have slept with his nephew's wife, but he did drop a house on her (and her lover) and physically assaulted her a couple of times. I also don't get Tracy's rationale of "Well, you had sex with her in this house, so that makes it our business." How does that work?

I liked the look on Willow's face when confronted by Carly at the end. I don't think she will cower to Carly. I hope their faux mother-daughter relationship is over. Willow is those kids' mother, and she doesn't have to answer to Carly about what she does with them, especially not on Quartermaine property. Carly should be all about the mother's rights, given how strongly she tried to keep AJ from his child.

But, yeah, Sasha and Michael can have several seats.

From the preview, it looks like Carly's too busy fighting her son's battles for him to answer Joss's calls, so she gets Jason to help her mourn.

Drew has Jason’s memories through 2012 instead of his own. Courtesy of Dr. Maddox’s memory transfer procedure.  So I presume Jason was aware of those facts.

Today's episode made up for the boring Ava/Ric and Q party yesterday. Good payoffs.

Tracy was really having a ball, between plotting with Ned (I think she showed that tape deliberately to get Drew out), taunting Nina and being smug with Drew. Well done, JE.

Ditto WK.

Carly hasn't realized that Michael is no longer 5 years old. She really needs to butt out but being Carly, she won't.  "Michael gave you a family, how could you do this to him?"  Odds are Michael sleeping with Sasha will be totally okay in her eyesj (How I hate that Sasha is pregnant.)

They're written so badly, as well as Kai being just the most perfect person that ever personed. I'm not impressed with Trina knowing nothing about football ('tell me what a defensive ender is'), I had hoped that the days of woman having to play stupid for a man were done. Did Taggart never watch football with her when she was younger?

My computer keeps trying to correct that spelling.😠

Mostly I use etransfers these days. And the waiter taking a credit card back to the machine seems so strange now that most are done at the table in Canada. (Fun fact: that's because there are only 5 major banks in Canada so it's easy to program. The US has many more banks so it's harder to connect everything.)

The worst part was Trina saying she didn’t know what a bowl game was.  F’ing seriously?  The Super Bowl and the various other pro and college bowl games are hard to ignore in the US.  Even if she never saw a football game in her life.

Maybe Portia sheltered her from that information, to protect her precious spawn.

I hope the killin' keeps a'coming! Check that list twice, Cyrus!

it honestly doesn't matter.
I'm Canadian where hockey matters and I live in Toronto where the Leafs are like what anyone talks about. but until 2000 - I couldn't tell you what the Stanley Cup was. I didn't know the leafs existed. people couldn't believe it but when you grow up in a household where they don't care about it, and they subscribe to other forms of media that isn't your town's local news you simply don't know these things.  it's really not that far fetched.

again the only reason why I know about a rose bowl, is because i heard people talk about it during the super bowl. and even then I wouldn't even really link the two together every time i heard X bowl.

I thought this episode was a double dose of karma for Willow cheating on Chase with Michael, and Joss cheating on Cameron with Dex. Humiliation in front of their family in a cheating scandal after they unapologetically screwed over Chase, who got to see the show and is now happily married. Joss has her boyfriend taken away from her permanently a couple weeks before the 2-year anniversary of her unapologetically cheating on her previous best friend-boyfriend with this current boyfriend (who was waiting outside to comfort her after she broke Cam's heart). And Trina still doesn't know that Joss cheated on Cam.  Meanwhile Cameron is off in California having a great new life and I thought Elizabeth had mentioned a while ago that he has a girlfriend there.

Well, Carly certainly raised her children to take after her.

I can’t believe I’m defending Joss here (even if it’s just a little bit).  But cheating on your your boyfriend isn’t quite as bad as cheating on your spouse, especially when you have children together.

That said, did you really think Carly Jr. could be anything less than a self righteous hypocrite.

I’m a guy, and I don’t watch a lot of football.  I despise the NFL since they got political, and really only give a crap about the Washington State Cougars in college ball (Go Cougs!).  So no, not every guy watches football.

It doesn't, but then why not just have Trina say she doesn't follow football? Instead the show doubles down on her knowing absolutely nothing—I'm surprised she didn't ask Kai what a touchdown is. Instead, she could have said, "The only football I know is played with a round ball on a pitch." That would fit in with her snooty attitude toward him up to that point.

Dex was fine as a background character.  Someone to show up at, say, a break-in at Windemere, rather than sending a detective that should be on bereavement leave.

Or the Rose Bowl Parade, televised all over. Trina is supposed to be very smart and aware of the world. Even I, in Canada and caring only about football because we got shortened classes on game days (Go Malvern!), knew that a bowl game was something important.

The Trina who we've been shown the past few years would have asked Kai intelligent questions about what he does as a quarterback, the roles of the  ends (not 'ender's), how he feels about his leadership responsibilities as QB. The dim lines they gave her were not worthy.

Dex became less like a block of wood and more like a real boy when the show moved him into the police. I guess the show only wanted him as set dressing because now he's gone.

right. you knew - because you were exposed to it - but if you weren't, it's very possible that you don't. Or you even hear about it but you don't really link the two together. for example, I did know who Wayne Gretzky was barely lol like I knew he played for I think it was the Rangers at the time but my dumb butt thought he was American because he played for an American team.   As an Olympic Junkie - imagine my surprise when I am watching the 1998 Nagano Olympics at like Too Early O'Clock and the tv announcers are commenting on how Wayne Gretzky is playing for Team Canada.

Again because I wasn't fully knowledgeable to the NHL or anything like that (I still didn't really know about the Leafs yet) it blew my head that you could be a Canadian and play for an American team. then I really put it out of my mind. (thinking back on this i was a weird weird child. but y'all love me anyway).

I remember when I was in university and this guy was teaching me about football  and I must have sounded so dumb trying to piece together all the players and what people did  and how many quarters or halves or whatever they did. (because we all know every sport has different measurements for the length of time they play - Hockey: Periods, Basketbell: Quarters, Baseball: Innings, Football: Halves) but again if you only one - you apply it to all. and if you know none you try to grasp some kind of sporting terminology to make it make sense.  You sound dumb. you feel dumb. but being in that situation I never felt I was acting dumb. (and considering that there are some Olympic Sports I legit watch once every 4 years, and I can tell you the rules, and everything and who won what, and how someone got screwed over over 20 years ago, and I still can't retain 80% of what football does or doesn't, not to mention  there's the CFL version too...).

Yeah. I can totally believe that Trina was not 'acting' dumb in that moment. I will preface all of that - of saying, I didn't see the scene (they only showed the better parts hahaha which was the Q party). but being in that situation. countless times - when you wanna know aspects of the game, I don't think you're going to ask about how he feels being in a leadership position. you wanna know what the heck is everyone does and if you don't know the sport. you're not going to know all the terminology.

I actually liked Dex and I agree with the person who said there's too much death.  They could have written him off rather than murdered him off.  But to me he was inoffensive.  There was a time he was likely going to be someone's son.  Back when he was working for Sonny.  I wanted him to be AJ's son.  Anyway, I liked him and I'm not pleased they killed him off.  What bothers me is I knew they needed cast cuts, and I knew that I would lose someone I liked, but figured well, at least I'll lose someone I want gone.  So far, it's just been people I like.  And the people I can't stand are still going strong, shrieking daily.  Ugh.

Generally I agree that when you exchange vows with someone, are married for however long and have kids, cheating is a serious betrayal. In this case, Willow married Michael the first time as a legal maneuver to keep bio mother Nelle from getting custody of Wiley. They agreed she would legally adopt Wiley. She did so and ended the marriage and then she married Chase - but cheated on him with Michael. Then she and Chase ended their marriage and she went to play house with Michael and Wiley. She then got pregnant with Amelia. She re-married Michael after Amelia was born, while she had cancer. This all happened over a few years. Their relationship was built on mutual love for his baby/the baby she thought was hers and never really went deeper than that. He gave her a family/a group with whom to belong when she felt alone after breaking up with Chase. That's it.

On the other hand, Cameron and Joss had been close friends since childhood. They started dating in the summer in their late teens. Cam had put all his love and trust in her. She then developed the hots for Dex, making out with him and being deliberately distant/evasive with Cam. She had sex with Dex on New Year's Eve, then went to Cam and basically said well it's been over for me I just haven't found the time to dump you until now. Bye. She left and ran into Dex's arms. From then on she's been so obsessed with screwing around with Dex that she acted like her decade plus of friendship and romantic relationship with Cam never meant anything to her. So that's why I think Joss's cheating was so egregious. Also, after promising to tell Trina everything, she refused to ever talk about the relationship or the circumstances of breaking up with him.

I agree that her hypocrisy is in-character.

I think that is Sasha's internal guilt/turmoil at play, that she doesn't want to face. First, it was her idea to stage the "cheating" with Chase, so that Willow and Michael could marry guilt-free to "save Wiley from Nelle." That moment launched this years-long Michael-Willow ick fest. Now, she's pregnant from a ONS with Michael and feeling scared about her future. She figures, Michael wouldn't have walked into that bar and sat down next to me jealous and miserable, had it not been for Willow kissing Drew. Now Willow went and actually had sex with Drew on the playroom floor, thereby committing adultery against Michael whom Sasha thinks is such a great guy and was a wonderful boyfriend to her in the past. She saw him as the perfect husband to Willow and father to the kids until *Willow* screwed it up by developing feelings for Drew.

Also, Sasha and Willow have not really been close friends for at least a year. Sasha was an advocate for Nina in their friendship, and not around very much when Willow had cancer. I don't recall Willow being there to comfort and support Sasha when baby Liam died.  I think Willow and Sasha giggled once over Sasha spending more time with Cody but never actually discussed Sasha having real feelings for him. I am under the impression that Sasha and Maxie are much closer than Sasha and Willow ever were.

I thought Dex had nice chemistry with Molly and it'd have been nice if the show had done something with that. It didn't have to be a romance but a solid friendship between them would given him some emotional connections beyond Joss. I also think Molly needs someone who isn't involved in the Irene situation.

Just catching up this week's episodes.

Favorite moment of the week was Lucky was nging to Elizabeth with flashback. Originally when that flashback happened, I thought it was so corny but now decades later Lucky singing to Elizabeth again was one of the sweetest things on this show for months.

Girl Reporter knew to refer to her cousin as Carly Spencer when Carly had never went by that name prior to Lulu's coma.

So is Laura going to demand Lulu to confess to breaking into Wyndemere's the same way that she wanted Esme to do.

OK, I will out myself. Like Trina, when in college, I was very smart. And sure, I knew, in the back of my mind, vaguely, about the Super Bowl, but I had never watched it. I had never heard of the Rose Bowl then. I certainly didn't know there were other "bowls." I knew NOTHING about football at all.

Now, 3 decades later, sure I know what the Super and Rose Bowls are. I know that there are linebackers and quarterbacks and touchdowns. I know the names of a few teams and players. But that is it. That is literally the extent of my football knowledge. That's it. I was clueless throughout most of that scene. End, defensive enders, wtf?! I have no idea.

Bottom line. No, not everyone knows about football, not even the barest basics. Not even the bowls. Some people, like me, just don't care. So, believe it or not, there are people like Trina who realistically are out there.

To be fair to Lulu, everyone was confessing their sins and spilling out their troubles to her while she was in that coma and it wouldn't surprise me if some of it stuck. Of course, it'd be the shit from Carly. It'd be hilarious if Lulu just spilled everyone else's secrets too although I think the big one - Drew and Willow - has already been revealed.

My issue with the Trina/Kai scene is that I don't understand why it took place right then and there. Why did Trina think she had to go see Kai immediately right after the game? I really don't think she'd have been able to get back into the stadium regardless of that All Access pass. And there's no way Kai wouldn't have been partying it up with his teammates after making it to a bowl game for the first time in PCU history. It'd have made more sense for them to see each other at a bar somewhere.

It kind of cracks me up that both Michael and Willow rather self-righteously claim they weren't going to tell the other about the Drew sex until after Christmas, "for the children." I think both Wiley and Amelia are old enough to sense something is off between their parents, even if they can't articulate it. That would be interesting to see (in a limited way, given how obnoxiously they write young children, but of course the show is allergic to interesting, and instead we're likely headed for yet another dumb custody battle involving a Corinthos. Ugh. And zzzz.

My dream scenario for all coma stories, as I've mentioned numerous times. Why it's never happened (at least on GH) is beyond me. What could be soapier than people telling an unconscious person their deepest, darkest secrets and the person wakes up and remembers them? I would even accept it if the person was faking unconsciousness. I just want the setup to be used. It's right there!

Money. They could put the actors against a wall and need no extras, like a bar scene would.

LW's Carly has never felt like Bobbie's daughter to me, probably because by the time she was cast, the characters had already hashed out most of their differences, and JZ (RIP) had been relegated to a reduced, recurring role: The interactions between Carly and Bobbie were less frequent. I also felt like because of that, they forced Carly into relationships with Lulu, Lucky, and Lucas because they decided to play up Carly's Spencer side. It always feels so plot-pointy to me.

If the showrunners are interested in rebuilding legacy families, how about bringing back Valerie Spencer? IIRC, the last time we saw her, Valerie was being portrayed by a day player and was on a stakeout with Dante. Don't think she was ever seen or heard from since.

Also, if GH is serious about thinning out the cast, Cyrus should be the next to be bumped off. I can't imagine that Jason or Alexis will allow him to continue breathing once the truth comes out. Plus, I've heard JK on a couple of podcasts - very funny, scholarly and serious about his craft. He deserves much more than the random dreck the writers hand him. I'm still holding out hope that Taylor Sheridan will cast JK in the Yellowstone spin-off where he'd be a perfect protagonist. The ponytail could even make a return.

Carly is nothing if not a raging hypocrite. She has had Willow on a pedestal since she married Michael to "save Wiley from Nelle" and since then has expected her to be devoted to Michael because "he gave you a family" and was with her through the cancer. Carly expects uncompromising loyalty and devotion to her family. Remember what she did to Lulu - her own cousin by blood - when she felt Lulu had "betrayed" Michael through her relationship with Dante.

So now that she knows Willow has been unfaithful to her precious spawn, W&A are "Michael's kids" instead of "your/their children." I rolled my eyes because you would think Carly was stopping a nanny and accusing her of kidnapping.

Agreed, I've thought the world of JK as an actor since I was 8 and China Beach was my favorite show and my parent's questionable parenting aside, JK really deserves to be on a better show than this.

No one really goes (when they find out someone they care about was cheated on) "Oh you know what. in the past I totally cheated on people I care about, it's fine honey, you'll get over it." like Drew was even doing it to Ned, and Ned flat out went "that doesn't matter, we're focusing on this and what you did."  like in public anyway.

like Drew bringing up Katherine Belll (or even sleeping with monica) would have been a great history nod had it been 'hours later' in the show, Ned slumped in the chair chuckling and going God, what is with this family sleeping with our family's members spouses, like I know I didn't know, but there was that one time with Monica...  this way you address the the fact that yeah they all have skeletons, and you can move on.

Like again my bigger issue isn't necessary Carly going all Carly for Michael. that was known the moment we saw Drew kissing Willow, lol. it's more of Sasha and BLQ going how dare willow, when one screwed Willow's husband  and BLQ going all "Well Quatermaines aren't very faithful. but I'm CERULLO BABY and all I know is how to be faithful."  - when you know she had no issues trying to break up a marriage.

at least Carly isn't going "I'm innocent like the purely fallen snow."

the children thing though. yeah you know it's gonna get ugly and this is where she can miss me with the mess.

Very good points about BLQ and Sasha.  You're right.

I don't understand this point.  She's still a hypocrite, as she's raging on Willow for daring to cheat when she's pretty much cheated on every relationship she's been in.  Just because she didn't say it out loud doesn't make it any less true.

No one remembers Rory? Not that she was into him as much as he was into her but it was a shock at the time.

You're right, I had totally forgotten Rory. So they are tied 2-2 in the dead boyfriend department.

Ditto. And I still don't know what the "bowl" refers to.

Now, if you need someone to explain curling to you, I'm the girl for that. Not that I've curled myself (I have no sense of balance. I'm lucky I can walk.), but I have watched my kid curl who knows how many times.

Dex didn't get the insta family connection of being someone's long lost brother or son. I'm not surprised at all he's been killed off.

I read something about Eden M's boyfriend and it wasn't him; wonder if they broke up, it was ugly/painful, and they got rid of him since she is one of their pets.

Beautiful Tracy and Lulu reunion! JE showing Tracy's emotion over a moment "I prayed for" was really well done! NuLulu dear, plenty of people were smarter than Luke Spencer.

It was good to see both Nina and Willow stand up to Carly and Carly not get her way when Michael agreed to the sleepover at Grandma Nina's. Nice of Carly to flat-out call Michael and Willow's children "possessions." I liked Michael calling his mother out on his own fears when she pulled her stunts when he and Morgan were kids. It was shocking to see Carly show some shred of remorse over her past.

Really enjoying seeing Lucky being Elizabeth's devoted "wing man." It's refreshing to see them build a friendship/possibly more, as adults. Elizabeth, Dex didn't have "loved ones" except for Joss. He had police colleagues. He was never developed to have actual friendships let alone a family.

Great to see Mac and Felicia, even if only in a supportive role to Anna.

Nice of Carly to be so wrapped up in fighting her 30-something son's battles for him that she misses all attempts to reach her regarding the news of her daughter's boyfriend's sudden death.

Josslyn, Dr. Britt Westbourne saved your life, not Dex. That's how she died. And how exactly was Dex "selfless"?

Previews: Ric is telling Elizabeth to stay away from the hospital? I can't ...

I knew JE would bring it to the reunion scene, and she exceeded my expectations.  Just lovely notes from both characters and actresses throughout.  Looking forward to more.

Glad Dante spoke a hard truth to Lulu, and I like the relationship the two are establishing between them.  Would love to see independent Dante/Rocco and Lulu/Rocco conversations.

Also glad Lucky was there for Liz, and that Portia is being more supportive than accusatory, just doing what's required administratively.

Good that someone remembered that Mac should have been called, even if that someone was Felicia.  Knew Anna would take another useless guilt trip.

EM did well with her deathbed scenes, not too dramatic, but clearly emotional.  It struck me, in the middle of them, that there's not a lot of difference in animation between boyfriend Dex and corpse Dex, which is probably a big reason why Dex is gone.   It will be interesting to see what this does to Joss' relationship with Trina.

Can't get interested in the whole Willow/Drew/Michael/Nina/Carly/Sasha thing, except for how it gives Tracy and Ned something to do.

PS  I had to laugh when Lucky said there would be hundreds of people on the internal GH videos.  We've only seen about six actually working there.

Pretty sure that now that the truth is out about the affair, Drew is looking to start an actual relationship with Willow. And the fact that Nina has to tell Willow not to answer her phone shows just how dumb Willow is. I don't think she should stay with Michael to make things work for the children, but I also don't think she should stay with Drew who so reminds me of Shiloh.

Tracy going after Drew was just a lot of fun. I wonder if she started hating him and wanting him gone when this version reared its ugly head.

The Tracy/Lulu reunion was really well done. And while I think the actress is doing a pretty good job, oh how I hate thee, Lulu. I cannot stand the character.

I really don't care about Dex's death or Joss's pain. Or that Carly missed her calls, text messages because she was busy sticking her nose in grown ass's son business to be there for her daughter.

So Felicia next on the kill list?

That was so necessary. Lulu's bloodymindedness to find Charlotte was really annoying.

Add me to the list of people who really liked the Lulu/Tracy reunion.

It's nice that Lucky was in the talk with Elizabeth and Portia, but given that Dex is the second patient to die under suspicious circumstances, Elizabeth needs a lawyer with her more than anyone else.

I don't care about Joss's grief. Been there, done that with her. Dex's death better not mess up Elizabeth's career in a permanent way. She deserves better than that.

How big of Michael to allow the mother of his children to take them to a sleepover at the house of one of their grandmother's.

That was incredibly satisfying to me. I had to laugh when Michael snapped that he needed a minute to process everything and Carly kept pushing him to strategize. Sheesh. One way Michael is not like Carly is that he thinks a little bit before he acts; he doesn't go off half-cocked the way Carly always does. Michael called Diane a few weeks ago, so she's aware of the problems.

It was. Serves him right, because he's only been opportunistic about being a Q.

That sounded like legal advice to me, which is something Elizabeth should consider.

I saw a Youtube promo (which I thought was clickbait, so I didn't watch it).

Anyway, it had

Spoiler

(split screen) Teary Joss holding a gun, Cyrus on a chair with two bloodstains, one on each side of his white shirt.

Definitely click-bait.

This is this week's promo.

I'm not impressed with Trina knowing nothing about football ('tell me what a defensive ender is'), I had hoped that the days of woman having to play stupid for a man were done. Did Taggart never watch football with her when she was younger?

I bought it, because I, too, am largely ignorant of football. The game has never interested me, and when I was growing up, my dad wasn't into television sports, so I never learned much beyond what I hear on TV. Not playing dumb to appeal to someone, I just don't care.

The teeny-tiny cemetery in Port Charles is going to be crowded!

I'm not sure what the point was for someone to kill Dex, other than he was a little boring and always seemed to be present at dramatic points.

I thought Dex had story potential away from Joss but if they are clearing the decks he's obviously low-hanging fruit. I'm sorry EH lost his job though. That's never fun.

It figures that now Michael is on the way out, he does something interesting like letting Willow and the kids go. It has to be the most mature thing he's done in ages ever?

I'm dreading Lulu finding out that Anna shot Charlotte. (Which Dante just had the perfect opportunity to bring up.) Like the scene with Nina, it will only remind me of why the character needed a rest in the first place.

she is - but like i said when you are raging at someone for doing it to someone that you love you're not going to go "but it's okay because I did it so let's talk about it." you're going to yell at them for hurting the person you care about. that's all. Im not saying that Carly shouldn't shut up. [she should always shut up LOL] but i'm just saying realistically that seems normalish to me.

She said possession was 9/10ths of the law (re custody). A normal saying but yeah, not a great look for her.
