Yep a basic flat doesn't draw as much attention as a high top, not to mention the latter isn't something a woman would typically wear to church.

Reminds me of my oldest niece. She once broke her collarbone falling out of bed. She was the type to, shall we say, “enjoy” her injuries (though otherwise a delightful person) so her parents thought she was faking at first. She got to wear a sling and was absolutely thrilled with it and the attention it brought from other people.

Did I mention she was 5 years old at the time? And she grew out of the “milking it” phase. Carlin, it seems, is stuck right there, which is sad.

I once read that stubbing one's toes on furniture while barefoot often results in a broken toe. I've done it multiple times and carried on. Once I broke a bone in one foot while jumping around barefoot and landing full force on the side of my foot. After X-rays my physician told me to put on my hiking boot, stay off it and use crutches for a few weeks.

During times when one of my bones was healing from a break I slept a LOT. If Carlin continues her frenetic pace I will begin to suspect that she does not have a broken bone.

I am not a Carlin fan and I think she is "malingering" but perhaps the ballet flat is too low to balance walking on a boot of any sort?  Making her legs feel uneven? But then again, I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV!

It may well have been. The walking boot probably has a thick sole so she could've worn the high top to balance it out.

When I had the ortho shoe I wore a black sock. First because my bruised toe was a sight and second, it totally camouflaged the shoe next to my own black shoe. Hardly anyone notice.

A broken big toe is more serious than breaking any of the other toes because it takes more weight when you walk.  At the same time, it is not a major life limiting injury.  I used to race motorcycles.  We became masters of toe injuries.  Also, there is a long term injury known as racer's toes that often requires surgery on the big toe.  Yet no one I know ended up in a full boot.  I can see her shoe choice as a way to balance the height.  Thing is, if she didn't turn it into a place of embarrassment no one would care.  People get injured and continue to go on with life. 

Now there is absolutely no excuse for having Layla's shoes on the wrong feet.

That boot up to her knee was ridiculous.  I fractured my foot years ago (I had a discussion with some stairs and the stairs won) and they just gave me the velcro shoe and told me to elevate it.  The next day I went shopping at the mall and three weeks after that I went to a conference out of town and was line dancing on it.  Throughout the whole thing, I still went to work and no one carried me anywhere.  I do wonder if her church friends are starting to roll their eyes at her antics.

I think she left Layla’s shoes on the wrong feet for the photo.  The caption says “ We are killing it Layla”.

Also, it is entirely possible that Layla had put her shoes on the right feet and Carlin changed them for the photo.

She really is. Just like how the one doctor told her not to go to Lawson's wedding but she chose to listen to the one who (allegedly) said it's fine. Normal people with undiagnosed medical conditions would err on the side of caution, but Carlin does what's best for Carlin.

I'm thinking she knew she couldn't wear her shoe. That was all acting, which I'm starting to think is the only way Carlin exists - everything is an act. She likely has no idea what she likes or who she is. Her life is just one big IG post.

Someone on FJ watched this week's video so we don't have to. Here's the rundown:

1. They spent 15 useless minutes dragging out the toe drama. 

2. Appt with a doctor, presumably the neurologist. w/r/t the EEG, they claim that the office was going to schedule it back in February, and they dropped the ball. Sure, Jan. They asked about pregnancy. Okay, but will need frequent blood draws. They asked about driving. They were told probably this summer, didn't say if any episodes she may have while off the meds on the EEG "count" towards her being able to drive sooner. I assume any seizure "counts," you dumbasses. 

3. The SUV Jed sold them is a lemon. They found out it had been in a prior accident, and since the fish tail incident, they've apparently had more problems. They need a new car. Preferably a Tesla. 🙄

The last thing these two need is another child in the mix. Evan needs to grow up and quit acting like a teenager. He can start by going to work as the electrician that he trained to be. I believe in this silly, long, boring video he stated that even if Carlin is granted her drivers license again, he still wants to be home with her to "be around". Do they know how silly they come across? I still believe that Carlin's episodes are anxiety induced. She has a fear of being alone in her own home; having to take charge and care for her house and children when "The Big E" is at work.

She won't have any more episodes until after she gives birth again.   They are so used to not working (OK, BSB, but not for anyone else) and heading to Nashville or other vacation spots all the time, that there is no way they are going to go back to Evan actually going to work and Carlin spending time with just the kids.  I wonder if Carlin and the kids are on TennCare but probably Evan is uninsured (I don't see them getting insurance from the ACA). If anything happens to Evan how will they pay their bills?

I think Carlin is the bread winner, so she doesn't really need Evan for a paycheck. Of course he does edit their videos and take shitty pictures for BSB, but really he's just a chauffer and of course his sperm helps to make for content.

Whenever Carlin gives details about her appointments, I always wonder if it's really what the doctor said or is it Carlin's version of events? She still can't drive, doesn't have a formal diagnosis and hasn't had that five-day test, yet she was given the green light? Seems kind of sketch. Also, didn't she once claim pregnancy was the trigger for the seizures and health problems? Wouldn't you want to make sure you have clear-cut answers before you attempt another? But hey, I guess where's the drama in that? If things are under control she won't have nine months of E.R. visits, trips to see high-risk specialists and clickbait thumbnails for her YT channel.

Evan is also being lulled into a false sense of security. He thinks the influencing money is going to last forever, but it won't. I've followed YouTubers who have a million subscribers but are down to less than 20k views per video. Everything has a cycle. Fans get bored, kids outgrow their cute stage, content gets repetitive and people move on. BSB may be doing okay now, but I think the social media income heavily pads E&C's (along with Z&W's) finances. I doubt any of them can live this large off of dress sales alone. So when it bottoms out and Evan is mid-30s trying to get back into the workforce, he's going to be screwed.

I laughed at Evan seeing a burned-out tail light as an excuse to trade for a Tesla. I'm surprised he's not gunning for a giant SUV, too, since Zach and Whitney got one.

So I watched some of it - skipping the hours of discussion about her foot. Impressions -

-They keep saying SHE/HER. "SHE said a pregnancy would be a-ok, it doesn't worry her at all." I was like uh wait the neuro was a man (the migraine/headache neuro sub specialist was a woman but are they really talking to a migraine specialist about pregnancy and driving), then at one point Carlin goes "she said she'd need to ask the dr about whether an in hospital seizure restarts the driving clock." 

Uh so they're having planning/life altering conversations with a nurse or NP/PA - who'd have to ask the dr certain things?? No shade against nurses, NP/PAs. But if you have SUCH important issues to discuss, why not with the MD? Has the MD just punted them to an NP/PA for these hand holding, how do we continue our social media blitz using her health types of convos?

-They are totally trying to get pregnant/will be trying in 6 mos max/are banking on an "accident" soon. When leaving the house, Evan is like - I want to know what things look like if I get her knocked up now or next year. And then after the "doctor," Carlin tries to back pedal and be like "we just want to know whether we get pregnant in 4 years or 5 years or whatever," but the "doctor" even said "if it's an accident, NBD just call us as soon as you know." Uh idiots we know you, you're "planning" on an accident this year.

-I 100% don't believe that anyone is saying pregnancy is NBD. I genuinely believe it'd be more like, if it happens we can deal with it, but think hard about whether it's worth the risks; even if the meds are allowed during pregnancy - who knows if they'll work the same during pregnancy; if pregnancy re-triggers whatever issues happened with Zade etc.

-Evan was GIDDY as he goes - when you're pregnant you'll be at the dr like every other week between the clotting disorder/high risk pregnancy dr + neuro. YT $$$ cha-ching . . . .

-Evan seems TERRIFED at the idea that a dr could say, she can drive again. He goes on and on about how he'd been soooo anxious about that, that he'd rather just keeping driving her.  I mean we know he's said he's never going back to being an electrician or any other 40 hr outside home job - BUT I do wonder if there's more there. Like maybe right now he doesn't get any family pressure from his parents etc. - bc look SUCH a good husband, he NEEDS to be home with wife [he doesn't - Uber exists]. But maybe with Carlin able to drive again, his parents start being like - wait why can't you work now?

-Same reaction re CarFax - they really didn't check to see if a used car had been in a wreck?? But hey perfect excuse for a Tesla SUV - a sedan won't cut it with soon to be 3 kids. Cheapest Tesla SUV goes for like 65k. They spend like drs and lawyers, so hey what's another 65-70k.

Would you want Evan working on the electrical system in your house?  I agree, he needs real job, but, the more I've seen, the less I like the idea of him doing anything important like work with electricity.

At least the kids are wearing decent footwear that fits.  Carlin's pal Joy Duggar's kids run around barefoot year 'round at construction sites.
