She was old, she was lonely, she thought she wasn't going to live many more years, her step-daughter only liked her when she was buying her new kitchens and diamond rings, she was depressed -- then something on the internet gave her a reason to get up in the morning and fantasize at night and suddenly she had a reason to live. She wanted to believe. After she was in for the first few thousand, she felt she was in for a penny, in for a pound, she became even more desperate to believe.

Now she's sitting on Dr. Phil's stage. He's forcing her to look at reality and she's starting to feel really embarrassed and foolish. Her private fantasies are out there for the world to see and the audience members are judging her and openly laughing in her face. Of course she's gone all angry and defensive.

I think that greedy step-daughter who acts like it's her own money, when it's actually none of her business, is way out of line.

I agree Kay is getting nasty, but her back is against the wall and she is being publicly humiliated for something that is harming no one and might just be a sign of suicidal depression or early dementia. I feel sorry for her and think Phil had better tread gently with this one.

You are right on target!  As a grief counselor, I also see this attachment to this nonexistent man as a response to her grief.  Her summation of her feelings for her late husband is in light of new feelings for the "scammer.". I think the stepdaughter truly cares about her stepmom.  All that anger from the mom is projection - she's furious at herself.

That makes a lot of sense that the anger is at herself. She's been very foolish. Lonely, but foolish. It doesn't make the anger any less inappropriate, and it's still pretty hurtful although it could be that her mind is a bit unhinged by early dementia.

The person she has hurt the most is herself. No question about that. However, there is some collateral damage because her daughters will be picking up the pieces over the years to come, paying her bills and quite possibly taking her in. So far, every single woman I've seen in this position has this type of safety net which makes me wonder if they have it in the back of their minds that they can be risky precisely because they can let it be someone else's problem down the road.

As for the daughter, her father worked very hard to earn that money. I'm sure it meant a lot to him to provide for his family, and, had he not remarried, the money would have gone to his children. It's not that she wanted for herself. I think it's just painful to see something so important to her dad so recklessly squandered. And, instead of showing regret, the stepmother acts like a bratty teenager.

That being said, I have yet to see Part II.

That drunk couple was appalling.  I have never seen such prolonged drunkeness.  And his screaming!  That poor child!  Like Phil said, "you two don't remember this, but your daughter wasn't drunk!  She saw it all!"  Thank God for grandma and grandpa!  I sure hope they can keep it together during this first 30-day trial.  I'm sure if they can get to the separate and intensive in-house treatment,  they may have a good chance to get the girl back.

I don't get it, either. I was so frustrated with this episode. How dare that mother subject her children to that. Was she too stupid to see this guy had a problem child? I blame the father, too. You move in with a woman (that you barely know) and her kids knowing that you have a kid that is going to disrupt and possibly harm everybody's life. Where do they get these joker from?

I'm thankful that I knew better than to procreate.  However, is it a new thing or we just didn't know back in the day...Why is a "parent" now so guided by their genitals and desperation for a love life that the well being of the existing children is barely an afterthought?

Apparently Dr. Phil forgot these 2 drunks will need a safe detox from alcohol if he expects them to see a therapist 2 or 3 times a week. I feel without it they have no choice but to fail as they won’t physically be able to stop drinking or they could risk death if they try going cold turkey.

Yes! Just like that pathetic, hopeless alcoholic Phil tried to help (whose name I forgot). The guy was the winner on the Tv show Survivor. I wonder where he's at these days. That guy was the worst addict I've seen. Very sad.

Todd Herzog. Phil put him up twice. As of 12/17 He blames Phil for relapsing.Says his green room was stocked with Vodka and Xanax. I find that difficult to believe.

That's what addicts do....blame everyone else for their demise. Dr. Phil, like him or not, is very high profile and I seriously doubt Phil would do anything to tarnish his reputation OR deliberately hurt an addict by supplying drugs and alcohol.

Phil might be losing popularity with many viewers, but for me he still occasionally gives advice that rings true with me. And for that, I am thankful. And I will always enjoy the snarkfest when Robin comes on! Lol.

Todd Herzog is shady A.F.  Dr. Phil really and truly tried to help him, and I certainly didn't see anybody else lined up to help him.

Then when Todd screwed up again, Dr. Phil went and found him in that messed up little apartment of his. He could have just sent somebody to fetch him, but he came in person. I think he truly cares about the guy. Heck, I felt bad for the guy! I still do.

I understand how relapse happens, but I don't understand him stabbing Dr. Phil in the back.

Kaye's back on again. I'm sorry, but she's really just a nasty person. Lots of people screw up and get mad at themselves, but they don't get that vicious.

This is Kaye Volume #1.

Okay, it's a little weird for her to be buying her stepdaughter a brand new kitchen. I wonder if she bought her daughter anything like that?

So, after 40 years, she never loved her stepdaughter's father. Nice thing to say, Kaye! He passes away, and a very short time later, you give all of your money away to a man you just luuuv more than you ever loved your devoted husband.  You sound like a real gem!

And what a motormouth! Just on and on a mile a minute... wonder if she was like that when her poor husband was alive?

I wish we could do a better job of screening for early dementia so we could protect these people from doing idiotic things with their money. Now she's gonna be broke and sponging off her kids for the rest of her life even though she told her daughter she "hates" her.

Some of this is probably dementia, but I'm guessing a whole lot of it is just her personality?

I wonder how many of these elderly love scam victims have dementia of some sort? I'll bet it's a surprisingly huge percentage.

I WISH Phil would not do shows like this Natalie Wood regurgitation.  Lana Wood is just trying (again!) to make a buck off her sister's death, and this doofus "Podcaster" appears to be an internet troll.  C'mon, Phil, you are better than this.

I didn't get that impression at all. The authorities are looking back into this case for a reason.

Maybe Robert Wagner is hoping that he'll die before they catch up with him.  Then he can answer to God for whatever it is that happened.

I couldn't find Part 2 either. Did I miss ir on Dr. Phil? One thing I've learned from the episodes on the "catfish" stories is that it's a lucrative business for the scammers and there are an endless amount of old, lonely people in this world. If I could add up all of the cash these people Dr. P has had on his show, sent to scammers, it could be multi millions. Do older people really trade smart thinking for love letters and "romantic" texts from strangers? I'm just dumbfounded by the stupidity of these people.

If it were my sister, I would go to the ends of the earth to find out what really caused  Natalie's death. We'll never know. But it's definitely very shady shit.

Lana Wood was very supportive of Robert Wagner after her sister's death up until the point where he married Jill St. John.

So maybe Lana is pursuing this because she possibly thinks RW murdered Natalie so he could marry Jill St. John? But he really didn't? Who cares who he married. He has the right to remarry and Lana has the the right to find the truth about her sister's dearh.

Lacy Peterson's mother wrote a book about the death of her daughter and nobody ever claimed she was trying to make money off the death of her daughter. I have no problem with Lana trying to find the truth and i have no problem with Robert Wagner marrying again.

And TresGatos, I totally respect your viewpoint!

I don’t think anyone will ever know what really happened to Natalie except Robert and Christopher. This story surfaces every 10 years or so. Lana is broke and needs money so she brings up the story again. I don’t know if RJ killed Natalie or not but I’m tired of hearing about a mystery that will never be solved.

I wonder if Lana thought she would take her sister's place, and when RJ remarried, that set her off.      I think she was always very jealous of her sister's career.    Millions of movie goers loved Natalie, but I've never known one person who was wild about the sister     When Natalie was making big budget movies, and then went with lower budget as she aged, Lana never had a big career.       Also, I'm sure Natalie was upset about the fact she was no longer the young, beautiful star of movies, but the older lead, and that had to hurt.

About three years later Lana wrote a book about her sister, and that's after RJ started dating, and maybe living with Jill St. John, so I bet that's when the relationship went south, and the vendetta started.

Something I wondered about, the ship's captain said for years that he knew nothing about Natalie's death, but in the past years he's been pushing the murder angle.     He might remember that the other two men on board were really drunk, and says Natalie had been drinking too.   The captain claims he wasn't drunk, so he might remember that he becomes a viable suspect too, and might think about what someone might say about him, and what he did that night.   Maybe Natalie got into the dinghy to get away from someone who was after her?   I don't think two really drunk men who were ticked at each other, and alibi each other are the chief suspects, but a person who claimed to be fairly sober is certainly a different story.     Throwing suspicions around by so-called witnesses can make people look at their story much closer.

The middle daughter had a short article talking about her mother's death, and how all of this rehashing hurts all three daughters.

This, in spades.  She never was as pretty or as talented as Natalie and she never managed to snag a man the caliber of Robert Wagner.  I think she was biding her time after her sister's death (ten years) giving herself and him a time to grieve, and then RJ has the temerity to marry ANOTHER gorgeous movie star, Jill St John. I can well understand her point of view.

I was curious about the really nice apartment these two kids lived in. She said she had a job but he didn’t say anything about having a job so how can they afford to live there? I think she’s nuts and he’s nuts for putting up with her horrifying treatment. I’ve never understood men or women who will put up with this kind of abuse be it physical, mental or emotional or all three and then still say that they stay because they “love” this person so much. How can you possibly love someone who treats you that badly? I’d run as fast and as far as I could to get away from anyone who abused me like that.

I wonder if these are real people on the show, or if it's a put on.

The way other shows work, there is a segment producer, and the host only deals with guests that are filmed, and booked by the segment producers.   Other shows have been caught with fake guests, and fake stories, and I really suspect at least some of these shows like this one are just for publicity for the guests, and entertainment for the show.

I was flabbergasted at the venomous family today.  There are things that the mother said that I would NEVER forgive, if said to me.  She needs some serious therapy and medication and then maybe she can try to repair the damage.  I think I would have given up this relationship long ago.

I found the "mom's" facebook page.  It is one long big rant.  They lied, it's all lies!  She hates Phil, it was all scripted!  She never shut up once.  She didn't take him up on the offers of treatment - lies, lies, lies!

The thing is, maybe (big maybe) her family has been shitty to her.  Daughter doesn't seem nasty (even with what Mom has posted), not sure about the sister.  But Phil was right, her outrageous behavior/reaction to it all just overshadows anything the family may have done.  All they see are the antics and rants by this woman.  I

She posted she had a therapist where she lives, who is wonderful.  Uh, she's not made any progress.  The daughter has nothing on her page.  "Mom" has copies of text messages with the daughter, who is nothing but trying to be kind to the 'mom'.  Then 'mom' said she didn't know squat about the wedding (it was on 9/8/18), and then says oh I'm not into picking out wedding dresses anyways (later on in another post).  She was ranting a good 2 weeks before the episode aired.  How in the world did she know how it would be edited?

Apparently, on her husband's side of the family, she's had problems with her SIL, something about court or whatever.  If there are that many people "against" you, hmmmmm??

There are a few people on her page, who are her cheerleaders.  And she posts motivational crap - some about forgiveness - which is ironic.  She also posted a pic of someone she said took away her virginity when she was 12.   She's obviously one who stirs the pot, is in court a lot.  She is also moving (is married since 2004), says she's shutting down this facebook and starting one with a new name.  Great - so family - watch it if you get a friend request.

Atl least Jerry Springer didn’t pretend that his show was anything other than the trash it was. Shill still acts like he’s a real doctor and Robin has never had any cosmetic surgery. And Jay is a successful publisher and Jordan is a wildly successful musician living in a totally black house. Okey, dokey, then.

We watched this episode this morning.  At the end, Mr. AZC commented that Charles needed to put on a dress if he was going to act like such a sissy.  Yes, I did tell him that his comment was offensive to the woman in the room.  He apologized.

I thought it was interesting that Sally and her son were offered a stay at a place to help them deal intensively with their issues.  Charles got a dietitian and a workout coach.  Kind of tells you what Dr. Phil thinks about how serious Charles' "traumas" are.
