  1. Is that correct? I thought season 33 was halted mid-production so it was not completed. I really enjoyed the premiere. I didn't realize how much I missed this show and Phil's eyebrow pop. I don't actively hate any teams yet. I always thought this show would be welled served by having a 90 minute premiere. Things just seemed to go by so fast, I had a hard time keeping up. Loved the one Olympian basically outrunning her goat. Was also sorry to see Team Catfish go home, but at this point I didn't want to see anyone go home. Looking forward to the rest of the season.
  2. As someone who loved the movie I struggled trying to match actors to their movie counterparts. John Glenn is always easy to identify. I liked the shows take on just how ambitious he was, they all were in a way, but Glenn seemed to understand the media better than the rest. I was looking to see if we got Yeager too. I'll definitely check out the next episode.
  3. Just finished watching the series. It was so well done and heartbreaking. I had to pause after episode 3, all these years later it's still devastating to see. I was glad to see so many involved take responsibility for their part in this tragedy. Except that one guy, Mr. I'd do it all again because that's just the cost of doing business. That guy was horrible. I was glad to see that NASA wasn't just given a break like Reagan initially wanted. I was holding my breath again watching the Discovery launch. I don't now why I don't have a memory about the Columbia disaster. I would be interested in learning more about that.
  4. I really enjoyed this episode. I liked Mariner interacting with her mom in a more positive way. I'm glad Boimler got his promotion. I have enjoyed Riker and Troi showing up in other Star Trek series more than I enjoyed them on TNG 😉. I was surprised there were real consequences like Shaxs' death, somehow I thought there would be a reset. Has the show definitely been renewed for a second season?
  5. I used to love Orphan Black. Watching the opening credits I used to say they were not listing all the actors forgetting the Tatiana was playing all the sestras and not just Sarah. She was amazing and I cheered when she won her Emmy.
  6. I just saw this movie for the first time a couple weeks ago and really enjoyed it. I too was surprised by how open they were with her having a one night stand and resulting pregnancy. The only real concern she had was from her father. I think part of what made it acceptable was that the father died in combat, so she "suffered" and she didn't get to raise the child even if she did get her happy ending when he finally figured out she was his birth mother. A similar movie, though not as good in my opinion, was My Foolish Heart with Susan Hayward and Dana Andrews. It wasn't a one night stand but a relationship over a period of weeks. You weren't sure the two had actually slept together until she found out she was pregnant. She chose not to tell the father because she didn't want him to marry her just because she was pregnant. I was surprised by how matter of fact the movie was about it all considering the year (1949).
  7. I don't think I laughed once during this episode, which is disappointing. I liked Mariner's captain friend. I don't get what is going on with Mariner and am finding more and more difficult to like the character. She's just being a jerk to EVERYONE because she needs to "find herself"? She's trying to figure out what she wants to do?!? What? Is there some big traumatic thing that happened that I missed that she needs to recover from? Because if she's just disillusioned with Starfleet, she should resign and get on with her life. Did not get the whole dog thing either, or even the Farm. Least favorite episode this season.
  8. I enjoyed it. Laughed out loud a couple times. I enjoy Star Trek as much as the average person (I'm not a fanatic) so sometimes I don't get all the "in" jokes. But I didn't actively hate anyone and I was surprised at the reveal that Mariner was the captain's daughter. One thing I was grateful for was closed captioning, as the characters were talking so fast as some points I wouldn't have had a clue without it. Will definitely check out future episodes.
  9. I enjoyed this doc but, like others, wish it was a limited series. There seemed to be a LOT more that could have been covered. I could have done without the present day kids. Although of the three CB was the most engaging and it was sad to be reminded of his untimely death. I enjoyed the "kids" that were interviewed but they all seemed a bit nervous and afraid of repercussions and maybe they are. They were all so careful with their words, it was a bit heart breaking. I didn't know all that Henry Thomas went through and often wondered what happened to him, life before the internet... Maybe I'm naive, but I don't understand these parents that say "he/she wants this so bad, we just have to let them do it" so they quit their jobs etc. Kids often want something "so bad" and parents don't just let them. I don't know how these parents can say they are not taking advantage of their kids in some way. If you're not hoping to get some monetary gain for yourself out of this you would have that kid in school and waiting until they're of age to start working. I'm not articulating well, I was just seriously frustrated with the parents.
  10. I always liked Molly. Her kitchen looks so neat and clean, definitely not what she grew up with.
  11. Athlete A on Netflix, even though it's a documentary, the moment when Larry Nassar has to sit there and hear the victim statements at his sentencing hearing is heartbreaking (for them) but a great big Hell Yeah! for the misery you see on his face. What a monster! And so glad those women had the support and courage to face him and let him know just what he did to them. I was crying but also cheering for them.

    Hamilton (2020)

THIS, I really hope Disney is prepared for what I think will be unbelievable traffic. Especially on a holiday Friday. I am so excited. I saw the touring company but not the OBC, so really looking forward to this.
  13. Finally saw this, thanks Amazon. Is it right to say I loved it? I thought it was so well done and it was very moving. I broke down when Herb was executed. Seeing Bryan so affected by witnessing the execution (as he should have been) was powerful. The scene when Johnnie D is brought back to his cell after he is denied a new trial was so sad and powerful. It was good to know that he was released after a relatively short time, compared to Anthony who would not be released for 30 years. This is one of those movies that just stays with you.
  14. I just saw this over the weekend (thanks quarantine) on Disney+. I remembered it won an Oscar but that's all I could remember so it was really gripping. My mom couldn't watch the final climb and I kept telling her not to google Alex to see if he survived. I couldn't remember but I figured he probably survived since the movie was on Disney+ (I know faulty reasoning but I had to do something to calm my nerves). So well done and kept my interest throughout the movie. I went back and forth with feeling sorry for Sanni and being irritated by her. I would definitely recommend to those that haven't seen it.

    The NBA

I have enjoyed the series for what it was. It didn't make me feel more or less strongly about MJ. I was never a fan and that hasn't changed. I never hated him and that hasn't changed. It was entertaining though. As far as the Pippen thing goes, I'm taking it with a grain of salt. Who is the source? Is it Pippen himself on his social media saying he's livid or just an "insider" saying he's livid? Like others, I thought he came off pretty good. I remember the Knicks game at the time being incredulous that he did it but hearing that his teammates called him out was nice to know.
  16. Love this outfit. The green business suit always seems to make an appearance in most of Hitchcock's movies. Absolutely gorgeous here.
  17. I re-watched Who Framed Roger Rabbit? for the first time in a long time. It still made me laugh and it really was ahead of it's time blending live action and animation so seamlessly.

    The NBA

I remember the Jordan era of basketball and was never a fan, just on principle as a lifelong Sixers fan. I still am enjoying the series. But I always thought MJ was a jerk and that viewpoint hasn't changed. But I was kind of surprised by his current appearance, clearly he drinks a lot now.
  19. I read that too fast and thought it read Birdbox, which is definitely not a comedy. Those are two good ones though.
  20. My mom is stuck at home and open to watching movies she would never watch if she could something else. Finally got her to watch Road to Perdition. I forgot what a good movie that was, certainly not a feel good movie, but the performances were good. I'm not sure I've ever seen Tom Hanks portray that kind of character.
  21. I finally got around to seeing this over the weekend and agree with this post almost completely but especially the bolded parts. I couldn't put my finger on my feelings but this is it. It really lacked emotional depth. I never felt the closeness of the March sisters and so Beth's death didn't have the gut punch it has in so many other versions. I don't think I've ever seen a version of this book where the sisters are so angry with each other so often. Even when Amy fell through the ice and Jo got her out I didn't feel the caring for her sister. Another observation, TC just seemed to young for everyone in this film. He never seemed to mature into a man, let alone a husband and father. I did appreciate the movie not stopping with Jo and the Professor getting together and it really is beautifully shot, but I don't think I'll bother re-watching.
  22. Today I finally signed up for Hulu with Live TV. I previously had Hulu+ with no commercials. So, when I watch my shows the next day or whenever I want to, do I no longer have the option of watching commercial free?
  23. I really enjoyed this episode, and I hope we see more of Ms. Audobon. I have a feeling there's more going on than she has let on to her friends. Is the actress portraying Sherry pregnant? Just seems her clothes are "blousy" and there seems to be some strange blocking... Loved Lola's hair in this one. Is it a coincidence that Lola's husband and the guy that wants her to run for AG look so much alike?
  24. This current group is really stumping me. I had a crazy random guess for Night Angel: Wynonna Judd, something in the clue package and her voice made her jump in to my mind. My mom thinks it's Taraji Henson. Also, for T Rex, I was thinking Willow Smith, but I think she's a better singer than that also not quite that tall. Thought everyone sounded better this week than last week.
  25. This, so much this. I said why is she still "singing" they never give anyone this much time to do their encore. And Nick joining in on the performance? What was going on? This is definitely the weakest group of the three and I don't anyone from this group will make the top 3, unless the fix is in and someone from all three groups has to unofficially be in the final three. The rhino definitely talks like Hulk Hogan, but no way that singing voice is his.
