  1. Oh my goodness did I love Homefront. And why oh why isn't it anywhere so I can see it again? I was so invested in Jeff and Ginger. I also loved Christy and hated the re-make/re-boot they did with a new cast. I much preferred the doctor over the reverend for Christy.
  2. So sad to hear about Doris Day. She was one of my favorites. I never get tired of Young at Heart. She could hang vocally with Sinatra. But 97 is a good run.
  3. Like others I felt so bad for Lois during that examination scene. I used to work in a University Hospital in an administrative role. But I got sick once and had to go to the ER and right away some students came in with the doctor and one of them said "I know you" and I was like yeah, all students out! The doctor tried to get me to change my mind but I was like no I still have to deal with these people and be respected by them. Poor Lois had the double trauma of her diagnosis and the horrible exam.
  4. I won't disagree with you about that, but I was really impressed with SJ's acting the last film, she really brought her game.
  5. My UO is I don't love Robert Downey Jr. and Iron Man is not my favorite Avenger and I hate that he gets so much credit for the success of the MCU.
  6. Small part of that scene that I really loved, and it may have been mentioned by others, is the way everyone in the room took it seriously. Tyrion got of his seat and walked around to get a better view and the others stood. Just made me tear up, such a great scene.
  7. Couldn't let this one go. That was Thelma Houston with the great legs, singing Don't Leave Me This Way. Her song and Stevie and Smokey showed what was really disappointing with this show, most of the original artists are dead. Seeing younger "contemporary" artists sing those Motown classics highlighted just how talented the original singers were. I enjoyed the show but felt a bit let down. And talking about Motown and not talking about the Jacksons is odd, even though I understand why.
  8. I agree with this. I thought another part of her worry was that her mom seemed to have multiple mental breakdowns with these children. Didn't she say something about them being in foster care a few times? So I think that was fueling her fear as well. Just a sad situation.
  9. I am so happy to have my show back. I don't watch Big Brother so don't have any opinion of those teams. I do remember Rachel from her Amazing Race seasons and am waiting to see if I like her better racing with her sister than I did before. It is a real treat to finally have Colin and Christie back. I didn't like them on their season but they were undeniably good racers. In my opinion what hurt them in their season was the "betrayal" by Chip and Kim. That kind of blindsided Colin and never seemed to recover his control and he started making mental mistakes. Maybe that's why he's so Zen now. I am curious to see how they do this season. I'm just tired of seeing Rupert on my tv.
  10. This has been my thought for a while now. That if Michael saves her parents, there's no reason for her to ever have any serious interaction with Spock/Vulcans. She may still join Starfleet but would be just another officer as far as Spock and his canon is concerned.

    Juanita (2019)

It took me a while to get into this movie but I did wind up enjoying it. Now I want to read the book it's based on.
  12. Responding to the bolded, I don't know why either but I had the same sudden thought while watching last night. I think at one point the Lion had a strong country sound and Ashley Judd just jumped into my mind. I thought Bobby Brown for Monster once before, but I'm still leaning more towards T-Pain or even Nelly. I'm having a lot of fun watching this show. Gladys Knight for the win!
  13. I don't love it as much as I want to. My favorite part was Georgiou's smiling/sneering at the baby. I was bored with the whole Klingon storyline, probably because I was never invested in Voq/Ash and I never bought Ash as the great love of Michael's life. I do wish they had shown us what actually happened between Michael and Spock, Michael being so vague makes me think the writer's haven't come up with a good answer yet. My biggest take away is that I cannot watch Discovery immediately after watching The Orville because Discovery almost always comes up feeling like it's lacking in comparison.
  14. I want to start by admitting I took time off from The Flash somewhere during the Killer Frost is our friend seasons so I don't remember everything. But when did the timeline reset that Eobard Thawne is even still alive? I thought when Eddie killed himself he erased Eobard so there was no reverse Flash. Did Barry change that when he went back in time and saved his mom? Or something else? This show and time travel makes my brain hurt. I'm growing tired of Nora and I really have not warmed up to this latest version of Wells. I did like the "old man" scene at the end though.

    Rampage (2018)

I just saw this on HBO Now and I enjoyed it. I think if I had paid money to see it in a theater I would have been disappointed, but for a night in my house with my popcorn and jammies it was just fine. Were some of the characters ridiculous? Yes. Was some of the CGI bad? Yes. But I just took it for what it was. I agree with an earlier poster that the opening in space was really cool. I couldn't believe Jeffrey Dean Morgan's character was ok until the very end because of Negan. Loved George and his interactions with Dwayne Johnson's character.
  16. Did anyone see the new series set in San Francisco? I liked it a lot and thought the new characters fit right in. I hope we get a second season.
  17. I think you're referring to the younger lawyer (?), if so, that was Jesse Plemons. I know him best from Friday Night Lights, but he was good here. I enjoyed this movie and all the performances.
  18. I really enjoyed it. I think Jodie Whitaker is going to be a good Doctor. I thought the episode was dark in the sense that I couldn't see a lot of what was going on, I kept wishing for daytime action just so I could see. I started feeling bad when I realized that I hadn't seen Nan (Grace) in any of the previews, too bad, I liked her character a lot. I really missed the TARDIS, strange thing to miss but I did and I hope we get her back soon.
  19. I think Michael would frame Joan. I know it's completely insane but there's this little voice in the back of my mind that won't go away saying Michael is just crazy enough to pay someone to kill him or beat him up in order to frame Joan. He seemed to really be upset when Sherlock said "you're nothing". Of course there's also another part of me that thinks Sherlock did it but is shocked that somehow it implicates Joan.
  20. If you have HBO or HBO Now, it's available on there to watch.
  21. I just saw this over the weekend. I did enjoy it. But it was difficult to see how much time had passed as the daughters remained the same age throughout the entire movie. I don't know a lot about P.T. Barnum but it was obvious there were historical inaccuracies/embellishments etc. Hugh Jackman did a great job and I was happy to see Zac Efron do a nice job with his part. The music was enjoyable. I'm not in a hurry to see the movie again though.
  22. I finally saw this via PBS Passport and enjoyed the first episode. At first I was distracted trying to figure out which girl was which. To me, Jo and Beth looked so much alike I didn't know who was who until I realized Beth has the freckles. I enjoy Michael Gambon in just about everything so that was a treat as was seeing Angela Lansbury again. I had no idea the actress playing Jo is the daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, she's okay. Looking forward to the remaining episodes.
  23. Wawa girl here and I think it's way better than 7-11. They also usually have clean restrooms which matter when you're traveling and have to stop for gas. There was also something called the Wawa effect or culture or something where people are generally nicer and a bit more polite at Wawa's.
  24. Loved this episode! Amy being her true self and spelling out y-o-u-'r-e under arrest was the best because that kind of grammar mistake makes my teeth itch, also when she was mad about the perp using the wrong "to" when saying you're too late, had me cracking up because that would make me madder than him getting away. Who would have thought 5 seasons ago that Amy and Rosa would be one of my favorite couplings on this show? Holt explaining to Gina the kind of envelope he used to mail his letter was great. Even Hitchcock and Sully were useful. Great use of the entire cast. Loved all of Jake's lines about his groom gut.
