  1. I still have not warmed up to Courtnay, but this was a funny episode. If I never see Marty ugly cry again that will be just fine. How much longer before Lamar is back in prison?
  2. My mom, aunt and I have started a tradition where we try to get to see a play together at least once a year. This year it's The Wiz at the Marquis theater. I'm so excited! I'm one of the few people that doesn't hate the 1978 movie, so looking forward to this revival.
  3. I actually laughed a lot during this episode. It's always nice when Calvin/Gemma and Tina/Dave team up. Tina's talk with Marty was good too, she ain't never lied about kid germs. Is the Gemma actress pregnant? Her clothes seemed to be hanging to hide a baby belly. Malcolm may not be single long if he keeps going to birthing classes.
  4. I agree with the poster that mentioned that Elsbeth wears colors, how refreshing. I think her outfits are great, I don't think I could get away with wearing any of them. But I could totally get away with the tote bags.
  5. Miss Higgins storyline almost broke me. I teared up when she and her son hugged each other. So glad Joyce told someone about her horrible husband, Nonnatus did not disappoint in their reaction. I'm sorry to see Trixie go, but if this is the best they can write for the character then it's for the best. So happy for Sister Julienne winning mother of the year.
  6. It would be awesome if Poodle Moth is Shania Twain, she clearly won the battle smackdown but she didn't sing better than the clock throughout. I think both of them are better than everyone else in the other two groups. I'm still getting Thelma Houston or a Staples singer for clock. I thought Nick said the can only be used in the finals for each group, so I think we'll see it two more times. So glad they used it this time though.
  7. I don't know what the actors did behind the scenes to make the writers sabotage their characters like this, but the Trixie/Matthew storyline has just been awful. And I guess now we'll have to suffer through sad, and possibly relapsing drunk Trixie. Just fire her if you hate her so much. It's not entertaining and has been done before, with this character. Now to the rest of the episode. I did not see it coming that Joyce was married. Hate her husband, he must go. Just once I would love to see someone call a blackmailer's bluff. Joyce should tell Nonnatus the truth, I'm sure they would back her as much as they could. So relieved that the mom with the little boy didn't die. And good for the new mom standing up for herself and baby when she realized her mom was not going to protect them. Her case was just so heartbreaking, but hopefully she gets all the help she needs to make it.
  8. It does come with Peacock for the 1st year, then you have to pay whatever the monthly/annual fee is.
  9. I said last week who I thought lizard is and this week Robin and Rita agree with me. I’m still torn on clock. Surprised no one tried singing the theme from the Jefferson’s.
  10. Thank you! I think the same thing every week, I think the other two students yelling that they passed their exams were the only words they've spoken all season. They really did them a disservice. Hopefully we get to know them soon. I'm still frustrated with Matthew's treatment of Trixie during his financial crisis. I'm glad she finally knows though. I hate that he thinks she only married him because he was rich. Really tough watching the cancer patient's rapid deterioration, but glad she didn't keep it from her family forever. I hope those red ribbon boys are able to stay together and eventually get reunited with their mother.
  11. I'll be shocked if it's not her.
  12. There was a moment where I got Bette Midler vibes as well. I also thought this could be someone like Thelma Houston. I also thought Lizard sounded better during the smackdown. There was a moment in the song where I thought I knew the voice. When he started doing his "yeah, yeah" it reminded me of Sisqo. He definitely brought the energy. This entire group was better than the 1st two groups. Are they forced to have a person from each group in the finale? Robin was just awful and should never try to sing a Billy Joel song again.
  13. I thought it was a great episode, I laughed throughout. I especially loved all the shoutouts to South Philly, Passyunk (Avenue) and Tasker (Street), that's a real hometown girl running the show. Loved Janine attacking the cpr test with the hand slap at the end, I think he was scared to fail her. Glad Ava recognized what she has at Abbott and that Gregory got a win just for being himself.
  14. Another really good episode. I did not think the beach excursion was going to end with May in the hospital and the threat of the Turner's losing her. I loved the moment where we saw Lindy grow up. She was kind of a clueless brat but she showed up for her kids and I was so glad that the dad came around too. Sometimes you just need to cry it all out to clear your head and figure out what needs to be done going forward. Violet wearing her mayor medallion is cracking me up but she may feel it's necessary being the first female mayor. I'm just as frustrated with Matthew as I am with Trixie. She should be able to tell something is going on with her husband and that it's not about her being a midwife. But he needs to communicate with her. She's not a child who needs protecting from the big, bad world. His behavior is disrespectful to her.
  15. Such a strange episode, you could really feel the cut scenes. I don't know what is going on with Matthew, you know it's bad when you're hoping the headaches mean a brain tumor that will explain his sudden change in personality. I was glad Trixie owned her mistake, although I would have liked to see her speak to Joyce herself. So glad the mom didn't die, because the death of the father was sad enough. Such a dignified man brought low in a new country. I don't know what it is, but I have still not warmed up to Nancy and don't care about her at all. The moon landing storyline was good, but what was up with Teddy and the aliens ?😆
  16. This felt like classic Call the Midwife. I was holding my breath and trying not to cry. I just kept saying "they better not kill Fred". I think Sis. Monica Joan's reaction was the one that got to me, he's the only one that get her to do anything. I was glad to see Violet get back in the mayoral race. I think there's just too many characters this season. We got 4 new trainee midwives but they've only focused on one, and this episode gave her roommate a little more to do. It just may be time for Trixie to go, she's an OG midwife and has had some great stories, but maybe her stories are all told. Watching her learn to drive or buy a sofa is just not engaging. The model mom storyline was not good. May have come off better in the unedited version of the episode? I'll be curious what was cut out.
  17. Yes, it was Murder She Wrote. I always appreciated that Jessica never confronted a murderer on her own. The police were always right outside the door keeping Jessica safe.
  18. I really enjoyed this pilot episode. I liked Elsbeth on the Good Wife (didn't watch the Good Fight too much), so glad to see her here. I'll be sorry if the Captain is corrupt because I really enjoyed him in this episode. I loved his "I don't care who's right, just catch the killer". And all his interactions with Elsbeth "take you hand off the door or I'll shoot you". Probably a bit much but the line deliveries were great, to me, he's funnier than Elsbeth. A bit disappointing that we have to wait a month for the next episode.
  19. Auntie Mame is one of my all time favorite films. And as much as I appreciate and enjoy Judy Garland, I can't see her as Mame. I think the scene where Rosalind Russell's Mame shows her maternal nature is the first night she has Patrick and he falls asleep and she wants to make sure he's warm enough and she keeps adding blankets and eventually her fur coat, she was hooked and will do anything for her "little boy". Never could warm up to the musical version.
  20. There will no doubt be times when they'll regret not getting the larger house. But money concerns are real and it was kind of refreshing for a homebuyer to say we chose this house because it was cheaper. Also, the aunt has serious mobility issues and running up and down those stairs every day, several times a day will get old fast. I really do think they made the best choice for them at this stage in their lives. Loved seeing the girls, Lucy is really just a mini Mallorie. Helen seemed a little camera shy, which is understandable.
  21. All time favorite sci-fi show. Still watch the reruns and still know the episode titles from one or two scenes.
  22. Not a great episode. I don't think I laughed once. And is the Grover actor getting worse as he gets older? I do not like where they are going with the Courtney storyline. She's already making a lot of demands and throwing down ultimatum's. This can only end badly for us as viewers.
  23. I really enjoyed this. It's interesting how some people came off looking better and others look worse. Who knew all the work that went into making one song. Stevie Wonder coaching Bob Dylan was great. Al Jarreau being drunk was hilarious. Sheila E is still bitter. Loved Smokey Robinson being the one to rein Michael Jackson in was great. Kenny Rogers driving himself to the studio was nice. Just a fun project.
  24. Was this the season finale? This is a show, based on the premise, that might work better as a case of the week show. With the bombing in the background, if it must be mentioned. The episode where JLM was a expert witness at a trial was one of the best of the season. That's where he can get in all the exposition about behaviors. His sister could be his support team and we never hear from his assistants again. You could bring in various guest stars every week and have a reason to talk about the irrational behaviors. Oh, and who is bugging the ex-wife's house? Did the kill her boyfriend so she could get back together with JLM? No thank you, she can go too or get better writing for the character.
  25. I caught it through Passport and enjoyed it very much. So far I like the new characters. Just the right amount of Sister Monica Joan. There were obvious cuts though and that is so frustrating. One question though:
