MyHeritage representative (paraphrase): Sunny, your grandfather once worked in the mess hall of a Navy ship. Maybe that's when your love for cooking was imprinted on your DNA.

Me: Uh, that's not how science works lady.

She was definitely not Henry Louis Gates, and the segment was definitely not Finding Your Roots (I know it essentially just an ad).

Anybody else notice Ana and Meghan have barely looked at or addressed each other today? Someone's still recovering from last Friday's burn, methinks... 🤣

Yup, I loved Ana saying that Her husband  and Sunny's should hang out during the superbowl and that she and Sunny should go to Paris together someday soon.  Megan looked a bit sad, oh well!

Something I noticed,  meghan referred to joe Biden and hunter, as if they did something wrong, but referred to trump "allegedly " making a deal with the Ukrainian president.  ALLEGED? Even the redacted transcript makes it clear.

Abby has a simplistic mind. She doesnt want Maguire to be seen as a bad guy, she talks about "other bad guys" in the White House, as though everything is so simple, just separate the good guys from the bad guys. Yes, Maguire has been a good guy, but in ths case, for whatever  reason, he screwed up, and committed a crime.

For all of Meghan's "I've been in politics all my life" and having a father who served in both the House and the Senate, she is so ignorant about how Congress works --Joe Manchin isn't even a member of the committee Adam Schiff chairs.

Plus, I read that Pelosi has said there will be six House committees handling different aspects of this.

This! I initially laughed when she said it and I wish someone would've corrected her. They can't just switch places. That's not how this works, Meghan. That's not how any of this works. You're right, she's very ignorant despite her claims of knowing all things politics.

did watch the hearing yesterday and Schiff was respectful but firm in demanding an answer as to why Maguire ignored the law and sought guidance from a subject of the complaint.

Adam Schiff is a man of integrity who is doing his job.

Yes, he took what happened and put it in mafia terms. Maybe it was a mistake. But, he is doing his fucking job!  Put it in the context of everything he has done.  Schiff's job is NOT to convince Meghan of anything.

Okay, did Meghan never learn any table manners?  That leaning over and way down towards her plate looked ridiculous.  I know she was kind of far from the table, but she could've pulled the plate closer, or saved the pasta for after the show.

Beside the fact Manchin is in the Senate. Holding impeachment hearings is not his job. Maybe Meg should read that Constitution on her wall.

Did at least Sunny bring that point up?    If not, MM will get skewered on the internet about her lack of civics information, which should rile her up pretty good.
Ana seems so comfortable on that panel; she belongs there.   Everyone enjoys her presence and contribution:  The panel ( - one, perhaps 2), the audience most definitely, and the viewers.   Most of us anyway, because obviously not everyone loves everyone else.   That's fine.

Nutty was noticeably subdued.   Hmmmm, I wonder why?  She is threatened by Ana.   Her knowledge.  Her popularity.   Her sense of humor.   Her ease at the table.   All the things that MM sorely lacks.

Not to mention that Joe Manchin is in the senate and Adam Schiff is in the House. What a dumbass! some political pundit . The House impeaches the President, charging him  with the crimes and the trial is in the senate where the senators will vote either to convict or acquit him.  Nutmeg needs to take a civics class about how government works.

There is a reason Meghan likes Manchin. He is a conservative Democrat. She doesn't think Manchin would be non partisan. She hopes he would be partisan.  In her team's favor.

True, but he is still a Democrat though. He believes in the Government playing a role in people's lives, unlike Megan and her ilk. I could say more about Manchin but it would be off-topic..

If I’m not mistaken, Joy tried to make this point, but they were all talking over one another so it’s barely audible.

Of course! They need to convince her, remember? You heard her Congress! Make your case for Meghan otherwise NOTHING pertaining to impeachment shall move forward.

This just confirms that she really does think Republican=Meghan, in any context, and why she thinks the other hosts are criticizing her when they say the word "Republican".

The House already has enough votes to impeach.  No Meghan or any other Republicans Representatives are needed.

The Senate needs 67 votes for conviction.  There are 49 Democrats (although I don't know for certain that they would all vote in favor), and former Senator Jeff Flake said yesterday that there are at least 35 Republican senators who would vote for impeachment if they could do so anonymously(?!). The day before, Mike Murphy, a Republican operative (who once worked for Meghan's father), said he was told the same thing by a current Senator, except with the number of votes being 30.

So it sounds like nobody needs to be convinced of the facts in order to vote to remove the president.  What's needed is a supply of courage.   Maybe the hearings will contribute to that.  It will also help that support for impeachment is going up in the polls, and that was before the release of the phone call "transcript" and the whistleblower complaint.

I would believe that. I wonder what it would take for Meghan to vote for Impeachment. For as much as she claims to hate Trump you would think she would be giddy about this.

I don't mind what Schiff did so much as I wish he hadn't called it "parody", which does evoke humor.

MeAgain was quite surly today.  I would be too if the stylists openly hated me enough to put me in sausage zebra dress.

But I imagine it has more to do with Ana's presence.  It was obvious enough but really apparent when Ana showed the dm from her husband re the Super Bowl, and Ana was joking about it with Joy, MeAgain did a giant eyeroll toward the audience.

Abby essentially repeated what she said yesterday about McGuire.  We didn't care then that you feel sorry for him and we don't care now.

Did MeAgain say she cannot stand Adam Schiff?  Sunny's comeback was fantastic and she clearly has undertaken an entirely new strategy with MeAgain.  I wonder if it unnerves her?

Why did MeAgain correct Sunny when Sunny related that the two of them had a convo about something?  MeAgain snarled that they "texted".

I thought MeAgain was going to have another meltdown when she tried to get her talking points out but Joy insisted she answer the question.  Luckily Sunny answered it and MeAgain was saved from having to stomp off.

I know there is a lot of intersection between The View and current political affairs. But please take a moment to look at your post, make sure it is addressing The View, and is not a riff on personal politics or the McCain family before hitting post. Thank you!

I didn't watch the cooking segment

You missed this, then, right before the close of the show.  They had a few minutes to fill, so one of the things Joy did was congratulate Ana on this award she was receiving.  Meghan, instead of taking part in the congratulations, while pointedly looking down, grabbed her hair from both sides and dramatically flipped it so it lay in front of her shoulders.  Anything to get the attention away from Ana.

She reminded me so much of a petulant 4 year old who's been told to behave and sit quietly, but can't restrain herself from doing something, and wants everyone to know that she's not happy about it, and is thinking "you can't control everything I do anyway, so there"!

And when Joy threw to her, because she had someone she wanted to acknowledge, MeAgain, instead of just saying what she was supposed to say, said that she didn't have enough time, it was too long, what she needed to say.  Then, having wasted all that time she quickly said the guy's name, they showed his picture and she rattled off the honour he was given.  So pathetic.

Just because they behave nice in class dosent mean they are not brats outside of the classroom. Most high schoolers are brats! Period. Take it from someone who recently graduated 2 years ago.

First, she thinks she's special and should get as much time as she wants.  Doesn't she realize speaking time is limited for all of them, but everyone else manages to work within the time constraints?

Second, with as fast as she talks sometimes, she could fit more than most people into the time she has.

I gathered a few of the gems from today’s “Meghan and Abby continue to butcher the English language” show. I am so embarrassed for them when they continue to speak like disciples of 45.

MM on Hunter Biden’s alleged drug use: “I think it is just the lowest form of common denominator.”

Abby: “That’s why, in my opinion, I think Nancy Pelosi has waited so much to finally push the button on impeachment...”

“...he went the right route...” (about the whistleblower)

“I feel like the media has been calling wolf. US Democrats have been calling wolf since before he was in office.”

I think Meghan thought that all the time had been blown for Ana and Sunny to toot their horns, and was upset that she was forgotten.  She couldn't immediately shake that off when she got a few seconds, so she just blurted it out.

I understand Meghan a little too well, which frightens me.

I had this exact thought, remembering her Twitter reprimand to Sherri.  Meghan also, after Joy was explaining how Trump's asking for a favor was "Godfather like", said, "I would prefer to just be in the now, right.  Because this is very serious" (however that relates to what Joy said).

One thing that REALLY pissed me off on yesterday's show, Joy was saying something, MEEgan jumps in and basically shuts her up because they ran out of time, then SHE proceeds to talk and basically steal Joys time, then Whoopie starts flapping her gums.  I really wanted to hear whatever Joy was saying.  Who is MEEgan to both tell her to stop talking and then flap her own goddam gums???  Inexcusable.  Can you imagine the brouhaha if someone did that to Princess Silver Spoon?

Yup. She picked up the R talking points and misdirection like a good little golden retriever. Holding Maguire accountable is not attacking. He did make a mistake.

The other day it was really obvious she had seen the talking points the WH sent out to the Dems by mistake.  She really is simple minded.  Is it too much to ask for SMART/INFORMED/ARTICULATE repubs on this show daily?  Ana is needed everyday.
