This is when I pretty much fell in love with Howard. It was after Penny, after tiring of his sleazy come-ons, had put him in his place, ultimately punching him in the nose. They had Kripke over, who was way grosser to her than Howard had ever been and Howard walks by her and goes, "Suddenly, I'm looking pretty good, huh?" She laughs and my love affair with Howard began.

Also, I loved his line when he found out the first time he was going to be a father: "I shouldn't be raising a kid! I don't even eat my own vegetables!"

So, that movie that they were talking about in "The Tesla Recoil" is finally coming out.

It "WAS" going to come out around the time that the episode actually "dropped",

but the film was made by the Weinstein Company (and everything with "his" name on it was VERY toxic at that time).

"You know, maybe you're all more like the guy who didn't invent the electric car and less like the guy who didn't invent the lightbulb."       Penny still makes me laugh.

As Fall arrives, along with the new Prime Time season, I find that I really don't miss TBBT.....I guess it really was just time for it to end.

I miss this show very much. I do watch Young Sheldon. But I really miss the original gang.

I was thinking over the history of the show and I realized many of my favorite moments involve Howard.  Almost any scene where's he interacting with his mom, when Bernadette tells him she is pregnant with their first child,  realizing he and Amy have a shared love of Neil Diamond, the letter from his father, and my all-time favorite line of the series, "I ate a butterfly."

"It was so tiny". I just watched that episode again last night and I laugh as much at the whole monologue. "An armadillo crawled in and spooned me." Cracks me up every single time I see it. And don't forget his voices as dungeon master.

I really love ALL of them. I love when the girls are arguing about Thor's hammer and the looks on all of the guy's faces. We often say things like Sheldon plays the bongos. Or "I INFORMED YOU THUSLY!" At my house we get a lot of traction out of that one. There are actually very few of them that I don't enjoy just watching over and over. I think Sheldon and Leonard's apartment has become my happy place over the last 12 years.

It's one of those shows I love having on in the background while I'm doing stuff. And then I always re-watch the episode again so I can give it my full attention when I'm not on my phone or completing a puzzle, lol.

I also want to add one more favorite Howard scene: I love when he and Bernadette are having an anniversary and she's in the hospital, so he has the whole gang sing her the song. "If I didn't have you, life would be blue"

And the gang sings, "And he'd definitely still live with his mom."

The reruns we're getting right now have cycled around to the last couple of years and I'm finding the episodes very watchable.  Not sure if that's because they are better than I remembered or because most of the sitcoms on now suck in comparison 😄.

I just re watched the whole series on DVD and I found the later seasons very enjoyable because I had only seen them once. The early seasons I saw multiple times. I think watching a show several times makes it seem less funny. Although some episodes make me literally laugh till I cry every time. Sheldon with the drive simulator I can watch over and over again.

That's a good point!  From the season where Sheldon proposes onward I've probably only seen most of those episodes once, twice at the most in a few cases (I did watch the wedding A LOT of times 🙂 ) and I bet you're right!

I am watching this episode right now and it's sooooo good 😊.  I love Penny's pink dress and her "I'm pumped" jump in the air when she goes to get Amy and Sheldon.  And Mark Hamill, well, what can I say??  This one hit all the right notes.

I was watching the show recently on TBS -- I think it's the episode where they go to the Antarctic -- and there's a scene of Sheldon knocking on Penny's door that gave me a flashback (if that's the right word) of Iain Armitage, and all I could think was -- wow! that kid really does embody Sheldon as a 10-year-old. Kudos to Iain.

I know this was just a tv show but I would have liked it if the show would have done more with the difference between IQ and EQ.  I think the only character whose a emotional intelligence the show even bothered to question was Sheldon.   And possibly Raj.  I mean Penny probably had the lowest IQ of the group but more then likely the highest EQ.   It would have been a fun episode if Sheldon had scored so low that it through him but tried to shake it off as emotions and being like Spock only to realize that in preset to keep his friends and Amy it is something he had to work on.   It would also be a good thing to connect to Young Sheldon

Plus it might be interesting to have Leonard be the only one of the guys to pass but barely pass.

In last night's Young Sheldon, in the voiceover Sheldon tells about  how he first started offering a "hot beverage" for comfort and he even goes on to say that it works everytime except when he offered it to his wife while in labor, which she suggested I throw in my face. So, we know that they have a child....and that neither Amy nor Sheldon changed much.

Gotta tell, you, it was one of the first times I have missed TBBT in awhile given the way it petered out towards the end.

In another voiceover - I think from last season - we're told Sheldon and Amy have a few children.  For some reason I thought 3 but I have no idea why!

It was in the season 1 finale which aired right after Sheldon and Amy’s wedding. There hasn’t been any mention of how many just that he has children.

I know the last couple of seasons weren't the best but I came across season 11 finale, Sheldon and Amy's wedding, and saw one of my favorite scenes of all time.

Everyone....I present Barry Kripke, singing🎶🎶🎶🎶 "At wast, our wuv will come awong"🎶🎶🎶🎶. I love John Ross Bowie😂😂

I saw that episode recently too and I had to appreciate the direction in that scene because, while everyone else was watching Sheldon and Amy walking up the aisle, Georgie and Missy were staring at Barry with WTF? looks on their faces.

I marathoned this show from start to finish after discovering and adoring Young Sheldon.

Now I'm up for another rewatch. I love that it ended so well so nothing is tainted in terms of my enjoyment. It's soothed my HIMYM traumas and I'm so thrilled I found it. I love this show so much 🥰🥰🥰

Do other shows remind you of BBT?  For example, on "The Good Doctor," Dr. Morgan Reznik's family are all artists, who consider her plodding and unimaginative because she chose medicine instead of art.  I think Leonard would sympathize with her.

Since Schrodinger's Cat was mentioned in several episodes, and one of the characters might have had this idea, it seems appropriate.  (I did not write this.)

We all have Schrodinger's Virus now.
Because we cannot get tested, we cannot know whether we have the virus or not.
We have to act as if we have the virus so we don't spread it to others.
We have to act as if we've never had the virus because if we didn't have it, we're not immune.
Therefore, we both have and don't have the virus.
Thus, Schrodinger's Virus.

This is one of the few comedies I can rewatch over and over.   There are episodes I might switch off (like any episode that paints Penny as especially stupid) but this show hit the mark more times then it didn’t.

This show is a big reason why I'm going to subscribe to HBO Now.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been wondering how Sheldon would have reacted to the coronavirus and all the restrictions going on these days..

Would have made for a few interesting episodes

he would fully quarantine with Amy, make Leonard get his groceries for him and sanitize everything thoroughly. He would then binge watch shows, work on his physics stuff.  As long as he could get deliveries and didn't have to go out, it wouldn't bother him much at all.  The main problem would be when they partially opened. If Amy wanted to go out, she would not be allowed back in.

Been watching alot of reruns and I still don't understand why the writers hated Raj/Kunal Nayyar so much that they didn't pair him up at the end.

I was glad they did not end it with everyone paired up. But they wrote the Raj character badly. Early on, Raj and Howard were both sexist jerks, but Howard got better and Raj got worse. Would have been better if Raj had different characteristics.

I don't know that it would be that easy for him, Sheldon absolutely hates having his routine disrupted and has very specific tastes. He'd go crazy if his thai place switched to a reduced menu or some of the item substitutions the stores would throw at him.

"What do you mean they didn't have Spaghetti?"

"They were sold out, we got Linguini instead?"

"But I can't make Spaghetti with little hot dogs cut up in the sauce with Linguini! Then it would be Linguini with little hot dogs cut up in the sauce. That's absurd!"

Then some delivery driver would ignore the no contact order and be waiting on the other side of the door when Sheldon opened it ... Without a mask.

No, he would just make Leonard leave it outside.  He'd probably make him call him when he was dropping it off to ask all his questions. Then he'd disinfect everything Leonard bought, but I do that, too.

There is so much more on HBO to watch. And DVDs don't travel with you.

They did just put out a Complete Series DVD set, not too long ago, that comes with digital copies for every episode, so they can travel with you in their way.  But I hear ya on the other HBO content, and the DVD set is pricey.  I'm glad I invested in it, though.  Like @Chaos Theory, this is one of the few comedies I watch over and over.

That's OK.  They don't live in the same apartment, so he would hardly be able to enforce that.

I realize that it was done for comic affect.....but why wouldn't Leonard put a damn t-shirt on underneath that itchy sweater Sheldon makes him wear until he returns that Mario Bros. or whatever it was to the rental place?  You have to be a moron to agree to that.   It's cheating but so what?
