Jason certainly can find another giant purple haired girl to date, one who has boundaries with her mother, this relationship seems like divorce number two waiting to happen.

The woman who is trying to teach her daughter to drive, the daughter cried and would not listen to her mother's instructions and we saw the daughter try to break an egg and it was not going well and when her mother tried to teach her the right way the girl cried and left the kitchen. I put the blame on the mother for not teaching her daughter be more independent, we are supposed to teach our children to be prepared to face the world, that mother failed big time, I feel sorry for that daughter when her mother is gone, does she even have friends?

Sunhe is just evil and mentally ill unless it is all just and exaggerated act.  Angelica is a big loser.   Last night Dawn was the most annoying for me, I would have told her to please be quiet if I were the consultant.  Cher needs to reel Dawn in and send her packing before her marriage is ruined. I missed the last few mins so I am hoping she got rid of her.  I also find Alena an Marcia chasing each other around the house is just bizarre. I don't think Mary is a stable person and that is not helping Brittani any, who should really stay out of her mother's relationship with Frank.

I was so angry at Sunhe and Angelica last night (I'm really embarrassingly invested in this show) that I totally forgot to comment about the lactation consultant. That woman seemed like the nicest, most patient woman in all of New York. She was so kind and understanding with Cher and even tolerated Dawn. The producers were clearly trying to get her to talk shit about the matching outfits, but she just said it was a sweet way to bond. And honestly, while I think the matching outfits are silly, Dawn and Cher - and Kathy and Christina as well - are so tame compared to all the other mothers and daughters on this show that I can't hate.

There is annoyingly attached, boundary breaking (Dawn/Cher, Cristina/Kathy) and there is obsessive, emotionally manipulative, complete boundary busting attachment (all the others). It's very uncomfortable to watch the latter... but I still do.

That woman that wants her daughter to drive needs to get her driving lessons with a professional.  Trying to learn to drive with my mother was very similar and usually ended with us yelling at each other.  

Dawn/Cher, I find them one of the more entertaining couples, although Dawn's voice is like nails on a chalkboard.

I think you're right about the acting.  I think the producers must have told them they'd need to be "more shocking" if they expected to work another season.  Guess they're pulling it off.  I'd say they sold their souls, but that probably happened decades ago.

The other two -- tooth sniffer and the old mom who licks and chases her daughter -- they are both really odd ducks.  The manipulation that Sunhe, Mary and these two put upon their daughters. It's not right. 

 

Agree with everything you say except on Dawn and Cher.   I can't listen to either speak.  It is cringe worthy and Dawn is so annoying to me.  She just turns me off completely.

Dawn seems unstable--and why hasn't she dyed her hair to match her daughter's "new" brown?  Cher might as well get a divorce (and custody, of course) and move to Florida right now...rather than making everyone suffer for the next year or two.  Bring that tiny third party into their sick little twosome permanently.   THAT is how much I dislike Dawn.  The meeting with the lactation consultant did it for me.

So much to rant about, but on last night's episode what really got me, was when Dawn came in to get baby Belle from Cher and Hubbydoctor (What is his name?) 's room- remember they were laying in bed just resting and chatting......Cher had impeccable make up on. Fresh lipstick, perfect eyeliner ( unsmudged unblemished) and luscious lashes (either heavy duty mascara and or fake) and her hair was lovely and combed with headband of course.

I know if I am trying to get a romance going with a guy the very first thing I do is talk about my figure flaws and insecurities.

I don't know why Frank (?) allows himself to be presented as the cheater by masturbation and berated by the Mary-Britanny duo in at least one segment nearly every week.  Admittedly, he didn't make an appearance in their story last night . . . for whatever reason.  But, I would like to know how Mary and Britanny easily accept Brittany's bisexuality (this week) and flaunt their vibrator use (last week) when they have to remind Frank at every oppportunity that they just can't seem to forgive him.  I raise these issues only as examples of their hypocrisy in the name of their morality.  

Otherwise, I want to know why or how these mother-daughter pairs this season, except for SunHe and Maxi SunHe, are grating, exaggerated NYC/NJ stereotypes, usually transplanted to Florida.

Rocky Point is a Mexican beach area a few hours' drive from me.  In the early days, most Americans camped on the beach.  One of my friends got up early every morning--earlier than everyone else-- in order to put on "full make-up."  SAD...she was more beautiful than the other ladies without any make-up.

To comment on the previous poster regarding Cher being all made up while lying in bed...haven't we noticed most all of these participants dolled up to the nines while lounging around perfectly neat homes? Granted, part of it is refreshing after watching M600PL or Hoarders. It just adds to all the fakery of this show though. Every "heartfelt conversation" completely staged while all made up lying in bed together.  I'm sure it's high rent, but does anyone else think Cher and her hubby's apartment and building look a bit...BLEH? And for those who see background stuff like I do, what WAS that book or picture on Cher's nightstand that looked like a book cover of her and Dawn??

Maybe it's because I was raised by the Italian side of my family, but I live for Kathy and Cristina's bits, and I LOVE Carlo and the banter between him and Kathy! "Because your designing my kitchen now...THAT'S WHY!" "Meathead Modern"...love it!

Most new mothers who have just torpedoed a kid out of their uterus are so frazzled that a quick shower is as glamorous as they're going to get.

So funny on Dawn sounding like Mrs. Potato, that voice is the actress who played. Estelle Costanza on Seinfeld.  If Cher does not put her mother in her place, the husband will and it will not be as nice I am sure.   Mary and Brittani are both sick, very sick.  Sunhe and Angelica are both bitches.  Hope Jason runs far away.  Kathy and Christina are funny and mostly normal.  Sarah seems more obsessed with Laurie than the other way around.  Not sure if we are going to see Marcia and Alena again, does not look like they are on this coming Sunday either.

Sorry - I did not master multi-quotes to include the other comment on their apartment.

I think that their apartment is in a large, generic Upper Eastside building.  When they were walking to the hospital, someone commented that Cher would give birth on Fifth Avenue.  The cosmetic dermatology where Cher worked is also on the Upper Eastside.  It must be a 2BR, because Dawn is staying there indefinitely, until they kick her out.  

Also, Dawn and Cher did write a book, so it could have been on the nightstand.  I don't want to rewatch the episode to confirm.

I agree that  part of the allure of these shows is how staged they are and we can gawk a the beauty and glamour. Agree that so many will wake up with coiffed hair and make up. I just thought that Cher had extra-extra-extra -superduper coiffed and make up!

I think Cher and Dawn, and Kathy and Christina are contenders for "we will do anything to be on tv".

Dawn, oh my goodness, how annoying and selfish she is! It seriously shouldn't be that hard to understand why your daughter and son-in-law want time alone with their new baby. Now that I think about it, she must be losing it if she can't see them during this pandemic. Unless they're quarantining together. 

Normally I would think it would be weird for a mother and daughter to get bikini waxes together, but on this show it's tame. I did crack up when one of them said the Brazilian wax should be called the bald eagle instead.

Mary and Brittani, I have no words for their creepy relationship. And Frank, dump her!

Sunhe's cancer scare is supposed to make her appear more vulnerable.  But, she still looks like a self-centered  jerk.  Rather than address her relationship with the boyfriend, they (she) decide to focus on her health.  He's the one who raised the concern!  And, as she's crying about dying and leaving Maxi Sunhe, she never once lets go of her hate of Jason.  But she frets that her daughter will be alone.  Her mothering was not fully successful if Maxi Sunhe is struggling to stay strong, beyond that it was the daughter's misplaced first concern.

(Thanks to the poster who dubbed Angelica "Maxi Sunhe."  That is the best and all I see now!)

I thought that was a strange thing to do together on the same day. The more I watch Britanni the creepier she gets, the way she looks at her mother is just odd, like she is planning her death or how to cook her.  Didn't she just graduate from the Jail Keepers Academy so isn't she supposed to go directly in to a job? How does she have time to have surgery and recup when the local government paid for her training, don't they expect a pay off as in get assigned to a prison job?  How does getting plastic surgery together make more of a bond? I could see if one of them was donating a kidney to the other...yes, there is a bonding thing but (yet another) boob job and a tummy tuck, oh puh-leese.  I have no problem with making your self feel or look better but come on, how does that mother make it so altruistic?  How does it show that they love each other?  The mother has a lot of tatoos, that was a surprise.  The daughter needs invisaline and a little boob job just to so she looks proportional to her lower body.

Sunhe cannot muster up a tear, I hate the way the word "cancer" is bandied around.  There are a lot of reasons for a lump but these two will of course milk it for all it's worth, this will be referred to a "cancer scare" when it most likely is not from now until the end of time.  Has Sunhe ever had a mamogram?
