Is it just me, or is the dancing in the triangle formation boring. I don't mind it and I love seeing who earns point for the season, it's just that they have an entire field and they choose to dance in the same formation most of the counts. The video shows them in different formations and also using the triangle. I wish they would go back to doing this.

This was absolutely refreshing to watch. I'm a sucker for nostalgia, including TS, but couldn't they find a way to incorporate both?

Anyone know who is the TCC from Season 7 that gets cut after Episode 4 makeovers/Gillys?  Her name starts with an “S”?  I heard her name is “Syntia” or something similar? Anyone know why she was cut and/or why her situation was edited out?

Sintia - had been arrested for assault.  If I remember it right, they chose to keep her situation private.

I loved all the formation changes, it's much more interesting visually and it would give multiple girls the chance to shine at the front too.

Can we also say that they've been using the same moves for over 11 years now in exactly the same order? Parts of this routine are used in the same combo in Thunder as well as other sideline routines. That's why I like them to have guest choreographers!

Kathryn Dunn. 2 Nd time in training camp... why could she not do thunderstruck ???  Honestly these ladies come back and can’t do “ the signature dance”?

Heck, I can do it just from watching the show.

Seriously, though, you'd think that anyone who had been in training camp once and intended to return would have the dances they'd been taught down cold.

I have a vague recollection of Jenna and maybe some others changing some of the Thunder choreo during their time on the team. I could be thinking of something else though.

In the past discussion on this same topic, someone posted that the Cowboys and the DCC were all about tradition and Thunder is part of that tradition, so don't expect it to change. I think that probably plays a large role in it.

As always, whenever this topic comes up, I find myself wondering about Judy. Someone once pointed out that her role is more like Artistic Director than choreographer, and that makes more sense to me. From what I understand, she sets the formations, stages the larger performances, and does a lot of creative around the swim calendar. I'm sure there are other things as well.

I don't think Judy creates or teaches dances anymore, and hasn't for ages. It makes me wonder who the actual team choreographer is in reality. I think they say they have 50 new dances every year. Who creates those? We know they bring in outside choreographers, but they aren't paying outsiders to create 50 dances. The DCC also always seem to have one or two assistant choreographers (recently retired DCC) on staff. Maybe they're doing most of it? Them and the group leaders? Or maybe they're getting alumni like Sarah and Jenn and we just don't hear about it? Very curious about how this works.

That number has fluctuated between 25 and 50 depending on which MTT season you are watching. And I'm pretty sure that's just the number of routines in general, not new routines. Total speculation on my part, but I'm guessing they have maybe five new dances each year and half of them are hip hop or contemporary that are only used for SG, and those are all done by guest choreographers.

If that's true, it makes me feel sorry for the vets who have to attend rehearsal night after night for dances they already know. But I did hear there are some rookies-only rehearsals, so maybe the vets do get a break.

Love these formations, especially when they transition into the kick line.

And Alyssa - yikes.  They moved the camera off of her quickly, and I'm sure she received some "feedback" for that closeup. She just always came across as snotty to me (although less so in season 3).

She looked gassed. I can also see why Charlotte wasn't too keen on Anne Lux.

Yeah, Ann looked tired too. Maybe that's why they don't do all those formation changes anymore, too exhausting. From watching, I totally get what they all saw in Trisha, she looked like she was having a blast the entire time.

That huge field dwarfs everyone, particularly when you are spread out.  A close formation visually looks big and impressive, which is why they only occupy a fairly small space. And yes, the DCC seem to prefer triangles and rectangles but I am not sure what other shapes in terms of formations would work? They did a diamond a few times but to be honest, I prefer the triangle as it looks better (the diamond always gave me the idea that some dancers were missing...)

Wasn't one of those changes the entrance? Where they entered from all four corners and formed an X before transitioning into the triangle? I really liked that entrance btw, it's in one of the Christmas videos on youtube where they use the Thunder choreo (with this entrance) on a Christmas medley.

They need to do a different formation and song to thunderstruck.

I LOVED THAT ENTRANCE. There used to be a different entrance that the girls do in the first 2/3 seasons (it is on Youtube somewhere) to thunderstruck. I know I have seen it

I actually said on that christmas entrance (on that youtube vid) that I love that entrance and maybe they should do that entrance and it was nice to see a different routine to thunderstruck and someone actually flamed me and said they been doing it since season 1, and that I was that stupid to not understand it LOL when in reality I was just giving good feedback and noone else who say that comment had an issue with it LOL

Speaking of Christmas, I love how they do a routine to "Deck the Halls" that is done to the tune of Thunderstruck. What is with the obsession over that song?? Did AC/DC give it to them at a discount?

Some of the Thunderstruck lyrics, lol:

Rode down the highway
Broke the limit, we hit the town
Went through to Texas, yeah Texas, and we had some fun
We met some girls
Some dancers who gave a good time
Broke all the rules
Played all the fools
Yeah yeah they, they, they blew our minds

Agreed, Ann doesn’t look too happy to be there. I thought Kaitlin LeGrand looked fantastic though!

Kaitlyn L. must have been a really good dancer to have made show group her rookie year, and as an 18 year old. It's a shame how things ended up, because she may have been able to be a 3+ year girl.

I think with Alyssa S she was concentrating more on the moves and maybe forgot to smile.

I recall she wrote a farewell letter on the old DCC website. A lot of the retiring DCCs did that.  She wished she had been been able to relax and enjoy it instead of concerned about getting the dances correct. I always got that impression of her trying so hard. Here's a video of her and her group dancing on the decks. Meagan M, Brittany E, and Tobie whose dancing by her seem so more relaxed and confident than Alyssa.

Alyssa Sarasani? the one who got cut her first try when it was still texas stadium then came back 2 or 3 years later at at+t stadium first year and was then a one and done? The rest have had a few years as a DCC under their belt so prob knows the drill and was a bit more relaxed by then the rookies I can understand but yea she needs to relax but prob was nerves on the rookie year was my assumption

Meghan M has always looked tired to me, she doesn't look like she has any energy here at all!

I agree.  I can see why she was cut on Season 3 and then a one-and-done from Season 5.  Unfortunately, she doesn't grab attention (or grabs it in the wrong way).

I didn't think she was at all unreasonable!  LOL!  My Fit Foods and Snap Kitchen were both really good with paleo style entrees, as well as any type of gluten and/or dairy free diets.  Great when you're doing an elimination diet through your doctor or even something like Whole30.  They made it seem like she was asking for above and beyond treatment when she could have easily eaten 80% of what they had in stock.

I usually don't eat any kind of gluten or dairy because of sensitivity issues (lord Jesus the bloating AND breakouts) and I'm blah about chicken the way Courtney is blah about pork.    And I like oil and eggs separately but mixed together for mayo is a no thanks from me too.

I don't mind my peanut butter and chocolate mixed together tho.

No, I don't think she was being unreasonable at all, they were asking her preferences and she was giving them!  It was just a funny, light-hearted moment and I love those.  I especially like when she says she doesn't like pb and chocolate together, then immediately turns to Kelli to laugh about it.

I'm a waaaay pickier eater than she is, Kelli's head might explode if I went through my list of dislikes!

Agreed! My response wasn’t directed towards you, just the quote 😃 The comments on the post made me chuckle too bc tons of people were tagging her.

I remember the original airing and rolled my eyes so hard. I might have been eating dinner from the Las Colinas My Fit Foods (RIP) at the time. Lol.  With a giant glass of wine bc I don’t have to be uniform ready.

And while I know cheese and pasta can be part of a well rounded, healthy diet, encouraging the TCC to focus on lean protein, fruits and a Mack truck of veggies seems like a great way to stay uniform ready and eating enough calories to stay fit all around.  So stick to your guns, Courtney!

Jay’s grocery store segment was over the top, but his heart seemed to be in the right place. (No salmon filets for breakfast tho, crazy man. Lox is the only way I’m having that in the morning and that’s super iffy!)

Our cafeteria at work gets SLAMMED on salmon patty day!  And my boss hates eggs, so when she diets she brings in a baggie of chicken breasts for breakfast.  I did think it was a great segment even with Taylor hogging the show.  I still think it is Lexie when I see the segment (it is blonde Jenna that tried out after she was cut).

She's at a higher weight than her TCC days. Her shorter, stockier frame shows the additional weight, which more often than not increases the size of the girls.

If you look on her Instagram, she just comes across as the girl that needs attention with good compliments with her endless amount of selfies. I find it a complete turn off. I was in her corner when she auditioned the first time and the second time, she just lacked that drive from the first time. IMHO

Okay you're going to have to explain this, please! I was rooting for Viv hardcore until she went off the deep end...

It's still out there - she was starting a YouTube channel:

I have grown so much over the years and have also learned so much, and I want to share all of it with you guys! My highs, my lows, my triumps, and my pitfalls... from weight loss and fitness, to my journey in professional cheerleading.

Being a start up YouTuber is extremely difficult because of all the time that goes into filming content, editing videos, and then promoting the final product. I will be spending a lot of time creating this video series for all of you, and basically earning no money at all, which is a struggle for a kid straight out of college, with  a very unconventional/unstable job as an entertainer, dance teacher, and cycling instructor.

The splash page has a screen grab of one of her videos called "How I lost the weight and how I will lose it again".  If I remember correctly it started out as an effort to subsidize her weight loss journey.

I seriously can't when people start GoFundMes for non-emergency situations. Like when their kid has to sell magazine subscriptions or ad space and they don't want to do the actual work.

Mackenzie Lee was like this but she got away with it because she was generally liked and she actually made the team. She was always making sure she got herself in view of the camera from when she was called into training camp her rookie year (she made sure to stand right next to Kelli) and any time they called the group to circle up for announcements, etc. There was Mackenzie Lee.
