I was thinking Chanel and Claire should work there.  Claire seems to have a soft spot for people with mental illness (although she needs to be tougher and less gullible).  Chanel needs to see how hard others have it.

I think once they transitioned Jack back onto the canvas, they figured folks would want to see J&J as reporters again. I assume the Center is still running.

Can someone please sum up what happened with Kristen after she sent Sarah to Offscreen Island? I stopped watching around the time Kate rolled out of her car...what do the Salemites know about her and her masks? Did Brady end things with her for real? Is Susan still locked up?

Also what happened after Nicole boinked Xander? What does Sami know? I missed all that...

I don't remember the details but Kate managed to make it back to the DiMera mansion, saw Jake and Gabi in bed and then went downstairs.  Chloe was there as well. Sami and Lucas were locked in the wine cellar by Kristen because they realized "Kate" was being Kristen.  Kristen went to the Dimera mansion where Chloe was talking to Kate.  Kristen put Chloe in the trunk and knocked Kristen out who was later found by Jake and Gabi.

Somehow, Kristen was caught.  I think Brady convinced her to turn herself in.  She was going to use Chloe's whereabouts as leverage for a better deal but Jan, who was kidnapping Belle, stole Kristen's car with Chloe in the trunk. 

Susan was released from prison.  She went to tell Kristen that she forgave her.  Kristen knocked Susan out and got dressed like her. Ava walked in to talk to Kristen when she was changing places with Susan but ultimately agreed to stay silent.  I think they faked Kristen knocking her out.  "Susan" left.  They came in and found real Susan and realized that Kristen had escaped.

While in "jail" (or the interrogation room at the station before she escaped)  Kristen and Brady had an argument where she kept trying to get him to see her POV as to why she needed to get out of jail and Brady kept pointing out how paranoid she had been and now, after everything she had done, they were over. (Right.  Whatever.)  The scenes were actually good.

In fact, as much as I hated all the crazy Kristen stuff, the culmination of the story was pretty clever and umbrella-arc-esque the way it touched so many stories (Lumi, Jake/Gabi/Kate, Belle/Sean/Chloe/Jan...etc.) 

They know that she pretended to be Susan.  They knew she wore a mask as Kate.  They still haven't quite put together that she was "Sarah."

Sami saw a drunk Nicole and a drunk Xander heading into the hotel.  JUST the hotel, mind you, not his room.  And she immediately jumped to the conclusion that Nicole had cheated on Eric.  Which she did but Sami really didn't see enough to reach that conclusion, IMO.

Xander then blackmailed Nicole to give him a job.  (Kristen, BTW, had hired Xander to kill Lumi in the cellar. Instead, he tried to get ten million dollars from Sami/EJ to leave them alive.  The money was transferred in and then transferred out of his account by EJ.)  At some point, Nicole mentioned that she was worried Sami knew what they did.  Xander suggested that maybe Sami has something to hide too. Somehow, Nicole figured out Kristen blackmailed Sami and Lucas and that they had slept together.

tl;dr:  Sami and Nicole both "know" that the other cheated but it's not through hard evidence; rather, it's through pure intuition/bias.

What the hell is up with these actors , mainly whoever is currently Ciara and Eric..characters who have a solid history.. getting to take time off, come back at their own choosing..

Its so very annoying

why don’t they just hire some actors who want to work and are willing to stay. I’m sure there are plenty out there without the ego of “Mmmm. I work when I want, won’t when I don’t!”

GV and VK are not under contract with Days. They can leave whenever they want, same as AS. The show still wants to use those characters so they come to an arrangement with those actors to come back for small story arcs.

Corday wants a model that has fewer actors on contract and/or wants to put characters into cycles.  He has also let the full cast out of their contracts when they've been waiting for renewal news and even during COVID, I believe.

So I think framing this as an ego problem of actors is unfair to them.  Greg and Victoria aren't on contract.  Both chose to walk away when their contracts ran out.  Every time they come back, it's because the show invites them back for a specific length of time. 

Could the show recast these characters? Absolutely.  With Eric, I don't think they really feel like they need the character unless they can get a big name to play him.  They also have a lot of options for Nicole.  I don't expect to see him pop in and out.  I think this stint was to put more closure on his exit than there was last year.

With VK, the show is ridiculously committed to CIN and CIN with RSW and VK.  Should they be?  No, IMO.  If they want Ciara, they should recast her.  I just think they hope VK will give up trying to get work elsewhere.

You’re correct, shouldn’t blame the actors. I just think the show should hire actors they’re going to keep for characters that should have better stories because they’re supposed to be family of the characters who have  been on forever. Not their fault.

I just don’t. I don’t like the stories they put them in, or maybe it’s who they’re putting them with? whatever it is, it’s getting increasingly frustrating.

Wish show would just focus on who they have and do something with them, rather than focus on the coming and going of actors and wasting everyone’s time.

She got rescued from that and came back to Brady and Eve together so she sued Brady for custody and then I don't remember exactly what happened with that but she left with Tate to go somewhere.

ETA: Maybe Teresa's mom was sick or something and she went to stay with her? I feel like I remember that but I may be making it up lol.

Eve tried to plant drugs on her so that she would lose custody, but she convinced the judge they weren't hers, so she got custody and left town to California.

Technically, her name is Jeannie. THAT was her name at birth when Kimberly had her. For whatever reason, the current PTB must not have liked the name, because they came up with some bullshit that Jeannie was going by her "middle name*", Theresa.

* A middle name that was never said.

What's even more interesting was how much Jeannie's older brother, Andrew (another kid named for a psycho relative like Sami and Eric were; Shane must have been very forgiving of HIS evil twin, Drew, too!), generated so much story for Shane/Kimberly/Victor back in the day, yet he has NEVER appeared as an adult.

Probably for the best, considering the mess this show is now, but strange how Andrew went from one important child to absolute nothingness.

I wasn't watching when Theresa Donovan was on, so I'm curious how she & Brady thought they were cousins. By the time she would have shown up, John was long revealed to NOT be Roman Brady...so, I'm drawing a blank on how grown up Theresa & Brady would think they were related. Can anyone fill me in?

This was the period where they made John, Colleen Brady and Santo Dimera's son. So John and Kim were first cousins, making Theresa and Brady 2nd cousins. 

Once Theresa showed up they had Hope deliver a message to Brady saying that John who was off screen, found evidence that he wasn't Colleen and Santo's son Ryan. 

The whole Colleen and Santo thing was beyond ridiculous. It really was just a Sami/Ej vanity project from TPTB. 

They should of just left John as Daphne's son. It explained his conception, his Alamain adoption, and why Stefano hated him.

Chanel's father died. Paulina has described him as the only good man she had ever been with. He encouraged her and became a stay at home dad so she could build her company. 

Lani also described him as a good man. Channel referenced him once talking about how close she and Pauline were before his death. He seemed to be the glue of their small family.

By making John, Colleen and Santo's son, he was only about less than 10 years younger than Stefano and Shawn who were played by boys no older than 10. Stefano who was married to Daphne when she would had the affair. And Shawn who he believe to be John's father when they thought he was Roman.

Soap math was really off with those sets of retcon of John's history.

As it stands now, John is the son of some woman and somebody who sent him to assasin school.

I envy people who did not experience the epic love story of the traveling salesman and the frisky nun. Not just because of the porn ‘stache, the Lucky Charms leprechaun accent, the infamous “my-a wife, she died-a three days ago,” the math that didn’t work…

I hated that TPTB thought the Brady-DiMera “feud” needed an origin story. What aired in the 80s when the Bradys and DiMeras were introduced was a good story! Roman, for all his flaws, was a great cop/ISA agent who got under Stefano’s skin. Stefano became fixated on Roman’s wife Marlena. Bo happened to be the object of Stefano’s daughter Megan’s affections. So Stefano was willing to go to great lengths to escape the law, possess Marlena, and perhaps make his children happy. It made sense! There was no need to make the torture Stefano inflicted on Roman/Marlena et al somehow the Brady family’s fault because Shawn’s parents didn’t support Colleen leaving the church for a sleeze who’d been widowed for five minutes.

Unfortunately that part of the rewrite remains, although John’s Brady-DiMera DNA does not.

It was all so silly and frankly just another way the show took the focus away from Roman with his history with Stefano and added to John's.

Bo and Hope's first wedding at Shane's estate in London. Hope was the most beautiful bride ever... I absolutely loved Hope's vows.  Sherry really outdid herself in writing their wedding.  She said that she cried writing the vows for her babies..

Yes I do remember.  Victor and Julie had an interesting chemistry...  Stefano was once interested in Julie as well and his obsession with Marlena was an offshoot of his rivalry with Roman..

What a beautiful payoff for the Steve and Kayla fans, I have always felt out of all the supercouples, they were the most deserving of a happy ending.. I say this as a hard core Bo and Hope fan and Kim and Shane fan.  Steve's backstory was so heartbreaking to me and I wanted him to have the family he always craved.. I used to always cry buckets of tears when I used to watch that clip on youtube of Kayla  saying goodbye to Steve at his grave before moving to LA with baby Stefanie. Mary Beth just hit out of the park, soaps used to make you feel back in the day..
