Farrah is "playing a character", which is an exaggerated version of her worst qualities.  This "character" will say anything outrageous to get attention. OR

 

Farrah is absolutely delusional about her life's accomplishments, which suggest a total break with reality.

Farrah's 16 and pregnant is on now and I had forgotten how different the story here is from the story she is telling now. She doesn't even refer to Derek by name, just "the baby's dad" and she says she broke up with him because he's too controlling. Then she's on the way to a football game and Deborah is saying if he's there she shouldn't talk to him and she should have his number blocked and Farrah doesn't argue with that. I'm only 5 minutes into the episode but so far it's been all about him being a controlling ex boyfriend. I'm not seeing the love story she's spinning now.

Of all the things that bug me about Farrah her retcon of Derreck is pretty low on the list. It probably wasn't a good relationship and I doubt that would have gotten back together, but all sorts of people have a tendency to romanticize relationships with people who have died. I have an aunt who had a really crappy marriage to man whom she barley spoke to for long periods (despite staying married and living in the same house) and would openly discuss how unhappy she was. This went on for 30 some odd years until he died suddenly. After that he was the great love of her life and her perfect match. People do that. Sometimes you just have to shrug it off.

FozzyBear, that is very true. But I think the difference with Farrah is that seems to me that she is doing it intentionally, with the goal of manipulating people. It doesn't seem like a normal hindsight issue, but a deliberate attempt to garner sympathy and get a pass for her atrocious behavior.

I was thinking the same thing. All she really has to do is know who to hire and have the money to invest. It's not like she's designing anything, setting up the store displays, etc. I'm sure the same is true of many people who start businesses, especially the "celebrities" who put their names on things.
