I agree with the other posts regarding Mary.  She's growing up in a completely different generation and the writers missed so many opportunities to give her great storylines.  Instead, we get the same weekly dose of Darlene complaining, everyone being broke, etc.  At this point, I'm just hate watching this show and I know I can't be the only one.

TVLine has confirmed this coming season will consist of 13 episodes and the showrunner doesn't believe this will be the last season

God, I hope the writing improves.

I feel like they have no idea what to do with Becky and Darlene unless it relate to romantic interests.

They will probably have Ben and Darlene have marital problems.

At this point, I would tell Ben to run. There is no reason anyone would want to be a part of this terrible family.

Lecy on Becky and Mark (Glenn) ❤️during the recent interview

“Aww I love that question, I think they would have had a really wonderful relationship, Inevitably there would still be conflict I think with Dan because  you know they butted heads a lot. But I think Becky and Mark really had a real love and were compatible. …and um he’s also pretty cute I mean I think that and Becky also thinks that. No but he’s also sweet you know he’s a wonderful actor and a wonderful person  we miss him very much…”

She always has been a Becky and Mark supporter. She wouldn’t have traded/switched Mark for David.

Basically just confirming that the situation continues to be what it's been for years. They'd be happy to have Johnny back and would find some way to work David into the show if he wanted to be there, but they "can't drag him out of the woods of Tennessee" where he's busy with his wife and kids.

If they really wanted to find a way, they would find a way.  Oh well, we can only hope.  I'd love to see him again.

Mark would have probably been a hard working stand up guy.

Yeah and their son or Daughter but I feel more parcial to the idea that they would have had a son would have been the perfect foil to Harris.

That would have been a cool idea.  It would take the Connors into the 21st century better.

I doubt Johnny Galecki would ever come back.  He doesn’t need the work (unlike everyone else).   Unfortunately, the show made him out to be very unlikeable when he returned previously.  He’s definitely above what this show has become.

I agree wholeheartedly! I don't see what good it would do for him to come back at this point in the show.

Hmmmm....that's a good point.  Maybe he doesn't even want to come back.

To those who liked it or just wish for it end so you are free from hate watching. Your prayers have been answered a very very short season 7 of 6 episodes which kind of makes up for the rest of the episode that would have been a full season 6…so technically ending after 6 seasons. Thank god

I'm sorry, but I don't get why people hate this show so much. Some things are annoying and all, but IMO it's not that bad. 🤷🏼‍♀️ But to each their own. Of course I don't think I've ever "hate-watched" any show. If I don't like it, I don't watch. I'm that way with General Hospital. I used to love it, but sometimes I try to watch and I have to stop with all the things I can't stand going on. It's better for my health. Lol

I love when showrunners know going in it's their last season, so they can take the time to lead up to something that feels like a proper ending.  We'll see if they manage to send the Conners off in a satisfying way.

I stopped watching right before that double or triple wedding was supposed to take place. Initially it was supposed to be me taking a break for a bit. Eventually the thought of having to go back and slog through episodes I'd missed got to be too much for me to to even want to try. I was hoping for so much more from this show.

The original series would have the family dealing with real struggles in life at times without making the whole tone of the show feel so dark and depressing.  Having said that I don't remember ever feeling so hesitant in regards to deciding if I wanted to continue being a viewer. Sometimes It's felt like the current writers were trying to see just how down and out they could continue to keep everyone so the eventual backslides that would occur could make things even worse.

The character of Jackie did get kind of eccentric over the course of time the original show aired. It was never as bad as the direction they decided to go with her in the first couple of seasons this series though.

I hope it is not a surprise pregnancy for Harris. I had enough of Darlene's surprise pregnancy in the original series and Becky's surprise pregnancy on this show.

Particularly, now that Jackie's son conveniently does not exist anymore.

I guess Jerry is still out on that fishing boat in Alaska...

Judy Winslow and Richie Cunningham are probably on that fishing boat as well

Chuck Cunningham is the missing son. Richie was played by Ron Howard.

I guess now that only leaves Mary for the surprise pregnancy route.

God, I hope they don't ever go there...leave Mary alone or give her better storylines than a lame retread of unexpected pregnancies.

Mary's not on the show anymore. And I don't how that would change Darlene's household dramatically.

Hopefully it is Becky and her kid moving out. That would affect her with rent payments. And maybe she's just gonna be sad about them leaving.

Now that the season has ended, have we heard any details about the "closing tag" that was filmed in case the show was canceled ?

Maybe Dan selling the house?

I could be misremembering, but did they actually film it or just plan to?
