I don't even know what Michael is going to occupy his time with until the baby swap unravels.  No even potential love interest around in his age range, no drama at work, no friends.  Is he - the supposed leading male in the younger demos - just gonna sit around listening to Carly and Sonny whine for the next few months?  That's so stupid.

He'll probably be a part of Jason's plan to keep Carly from having to go to Canada for three months. That has a certain logic, as one of the confessions Michael wanted from Nelle was that she was messing with Carly. But they can't think of other stuff for him to be involved with? Ridiculous.

Griffin can shove his "we made one mistake" excuse up his sanctimonious ass, considering he judges Ava when she breathes the wrong way.

And you've made this mistake before, Father Sleeps With Married Parishioners.

They put Eden McCoy (Josslyn) on contract with the goal of giving her more airtime and a bigger story. That’ll naturally involve a love triangle.

Of course, that means Joss needs two solid options to choose from. General Hospital fans seem to have mixed feelings about Garren Stitt as Oscar, but he’s doing pretty well overall. He definitely pulls off that sweet Wally Cleaver vibe. Oscar’s a good kid and Stitt is able to convey that.

What are they smoking???? The girl playing Joss is bad, and Garren Stitt is even worse.  He's the kind of person people walk over because he resembles a door mat.

What portion of GH's audience is interested in a love triangle between 14 year olds?

At least the actress who played eight-year-old Joss was worth watching. I can't imagine two characters fighting to spend time with this version

Even 14 year olds would rather see a love story between `16 or 17 year olds.   Aspirations.

Okay so now that the whole Kevin/Ryan thing is a go, will those spoilers about Lucy thinking Kevin's acting off reemerge?  Is there some kind of delay in the story coming because they were trying to get Genie Francis?

This very topic came up in conversation with a friend today and she wondered if TPTB were hedging their bets that GF would or wouldn't return and so recorded and then cut the Lucy/Kevin scene, so if GF didn't come back they had that scene and could air it and lay the groundwork for a potential Kevin/Lucy reunion. (I politely tried not to gag when she was telling me this! Lol)

I will say, as a huge Lucy/Kevin fan (they were my number #1 couple even as a 14 year old), I was extremely bitter how I felt they haphazzerdly broke up the couple. I like Scotty, I like Lucy as co parents and former lovers, but IMHO, they did a piss poor job showing why Lucy would cheat on Kevin, even with Scott. I also despised how Kevin called Laura the love of his life at their wedding, fuck that. (I have a great deal of respect of Genie Francis, but I don't think that Laura is a better, more mature woman than Lucy).  With that said, I have no desire to see Lucy and Kevin reinstituted especially without Laura in the picture. FV and RC decided to burn that couple to the ground, with no mind to Lucy and Kevin fans, FV doesn't get to put them back together like it is nothing. So why I take a bit of pleasure at the annoyance of Laura/Kevin fans/Lucy haters with the turn of events since a lot of them stated they didn't care about my feelings as a fan of K&Lucy, if they aren't going to do a proper drawn out story which ironically they need Laura's presence for, Lucy should only involved in so far as a friend and someone who knows the history, but they shouldn't get back together, not like this.

But they could still show Lucy interacting with Kevin and thinking his behavior is off without it setting up a romantic reunion between them.  They buried the hatchet a while ago and have been friendly with each other the last few times they interacted.  And honestly, she has the history with him in a way that Laura just doesn't.

I was thinking more that Genie Francis decided to sign, but didn't want to start work til the fall so they bumped back some of the Kevin/Ryan beats.

There was a long discussion in the episode thread when this happened. There was a lot of annoyance at how soaps always seem to unnecessarily slag previous relationships in order to make the current one work. Laura had a much more realistic take: She never thought she'd find someone she'd want to share her life with again. It gave her previous relationships their due while acknowledging her love for Kevin.

I think it's also the usual terrible pacing, especially for stories that don't involve Carly/Jason/Sonny, though at this point we don't know if those three will be directly involved beyond Carly saying she never wants therapy again.

Kevin's mind is elsewhere

That's one way to put it, LOL. This is an unintentionally excellent spoiler.

Robert asks Jason to help to find Finn and Anna

He is Robert Scorpio of the WSB. He doesn't need anyone's help, but certainly not Jason's, to find his ex-wife and her current maybe-sort-of boyfriend. Grr!!

For god's sake. Robert has been a bad-ass secret agent man since before Jason was born. Why would he possibly require the help of a brain-damaged hitman?

I don't get it.  Wasn't he just giving Anna grief for teaming up with Jason during his last visit?  Is no character on this show safe?!?!

And hey, Jase, you just got done with Carly's mess, maybe go hang with your kids for five minutes before signing up for another adventure?

TR had to ask FV to put in dialogue about how Robert doesn't work with criminals and doesn't have a good opinion of Jason because the writers failed to do so.  This is all mentioned in this week's Soap Opera Digest.

I am so sick of the holy hitman up in everyone's story.  Eating screen time.  I don't like Burton, I think that much is clear but his return with CVE's writing and FV's dictatorship has made it unwatchable for me.

This show has been at it's worst since the beginning of the year.  I'd take RC's nonsense over this garbage any day.

Edit: At least Tristian gives a shit about his character though.  Can't say the same for 90% of the cast that just eats the crap the writers give them and collects checks.

Oooooooh, that's interesting.  Good on ya, Tristan!  I'll never forget a scene, I think last year, with Robert having a beer with Sonny and I wanted to rip my hair out because noooooo!

I don't know whether we should applaud TR for knowing his character better than the writers, or giving the writers a thumbs-down for not putting dialogue like that in the first place when, like @TeeVee329 said, Robert was questioning Anna's willingness to work with Jason just earlier this year.

But Anna is Robin's mother!  There was some dialogue from Jason saying he can't let Robin's mother get hurt.  You know, doing the think she trained for and has been doing for 30+ years.

And there you have the explanation as to why he's signing to go on another adventure. Anywhere, just so he doesn't have to spend actual time with his own chilldren.

And from the other side, why would Jason care about Anna and especially Finn? I don't mean this negatively, just that there's no reason Jason would do this. He was pretty reluctant to work with Anna the first time.

Well there is a woman in distress, so that automatically means Lassie needs to help rescue her while wearing the same black t-shirt that's three sizes too small.

Ugh, Julian is already going to find out about the baby swap next week.  I was dreading this because my guess is, once he knows, the story will become all about him, both making us feel bad for him that he's caught in this impossible quandary and also hate him for keeping Sonny away from his grandchild.  Again, ugh.

Moreso the latter--by a mile.  Of course the number of babies kept away from their bio parents by Sonny and Carly won't ever be uttered...

How do they come up with these new and fresh storylines! #eyeroll

I wonder if the (who?)s will be at the funeral.  On a real soap opera, they would be.  But this show has next-to-no interest in their part of things so...

And I guess we're finally looping back to Kevin/Ryan after taking a whole week off. #eyeroll

I wouldn't be surprised if the return of the sainted Jason didn't go over as they were envisioning. They've made him literally the same person he was before he died and nothing has changed for anyone in any meaningful way.

Is he still crossing his arms, wearing a black T Shirt, looking constipated, and shooting people ? And is Sam still being a moron and defending him like he's a good person ? And is Sonny Carly still unhealthily attached to him ? Are the four of them all still the  most boring characters in the history of GH?

Then no. Nothing's changed.

Ugh. Carly talking to Joss about how Jason was the first person to ever show her unconditional love caused me to strain an eye muscle from rolling them so hard. Every now and then I think that they might be setting up a triangle (or square) of sorts with Sonny, Carly, and Jason (and maybe Sam if they go the square route) but I really think they are just trying to hammer home that Carly and Jason are the bestest friends who ever friended and no one can ever compare to them just like we are supposed to see Jason and Sam as some amazing couple. Ugh.

I know. I don't ever want Carly and Jason to get together, because the only thing that keeps me from hating Jason for enternity is his refusal to sleep with Carly again, but on the other hand, a Sonny/Carly/Jason/Sam triangle/square has some potential. Of course, the writers would totally squander it, and the women would come off badly, but it's kind of amazing the show hasn't gone there. The Rick/Monica/Alan/Lesley stuff drove stories for years. But we can't have Sonny and Jason look "weak" by wavering in their faith for their women. (Sonny can [and has], but not St. Jasus.)

  • Love 5

Jason's faith in Carly far outstrips his faith in Sam.

According to him, Carly is the bestest mother and friend and the smartest person evah because she has such good instincts that she saw Nelle for the person that she was (so he told Michael).  Sometimes she does things that cause her problems but that's because she's so passionate and loving.

The problem is that Jason loves both Carly and Sonny. To have an affair with Carly means he would be betraying Sonny and he would never do that, he cares about them so much. Sam who?

Also Danny who? and Jake who? when it comes to Michael, Joss or Morgan.  He doesn't care about Kristina because she's not Carly's child.(Can you imagine how upset Jason would have been if it had been Michael who almost got blown up by Sonny?)
