So basically, back to reading recaps and when someone I care about shows up, I'll watch. That means it sounds like I'll be watching nothing for a while. I don't give two craps about boring JaSam, or anything Franco does to them.

He can kill them both. I care not. And I really hate to say that about Alan's kid, but I've never liked that smarmy murdering hypocrite, even when he was a reindeer sweater wearing, non murdering, doofus. All versions of Jason have always sucked, and WILL always suck.

The soap demo that counts for advertisers is women. So you never want a female character to "lose out," unless she's an outright or love-to-hate villain. Otherwise, some section of your female audience will identify with that character, and they'll become invested in whether she gets the man. So, it's better to have a woman having to choose than having two women fight over one man.  These Liz vs. Sam wars, for instance, may create social board buzz, but both characters lose out, and unless you're one of the fans invested in one character or the other, you want to walk away completely.

 

That's my take on that.

All triangles are fails to me regardless of who is in the middle unless a fan is on the "winning side." And even then, there's still the debate of who X should really be with. I have forever hated triangles and will actively stop shipping a pairing if I even sniff a triangle on the way, lol. I learned that lesson long ago.

Sabrina/Patrick/Robin was never a real triangle for a variety of reasons.

Not sure whether to put this under spoilers or speculation, but since it's not my own speculation and because Jamey shot down the idea that Griffin is Claudette, there's quite a bit of speculation that Griffin was a priest (all his "you MUST forgive!") and that he heard Nathan's confession about doing something (accidently shooting?) to Claudette.

 

Is it wrong that I was kinda getting on board the Griffin is Claudette idea? I know the writers would have let me down social awareness-wise, but for some reason it was opening a wonderful Pandora's box.

It's not that I dismiss that TPTB aren't low enough to make this embryo a story, it's the Robin factor that was essentially a fan-created rumor that's annoying. There is no real spoiler behind it, there never was. And people can blame KMc for everything written for Robin all they want, but the fact remains that the character was ALREADY physically and mentally tortured on-screen and off since LITERALLY 2010. Would this show really choose to continue that trend? For what purpose?  I sat through Robin being mentally/physically tortured by Lisa, Faison, Dr. O, Victor, Helena, and mentally tortured by watching her husband/daughter play house with other women. Enough is enough. Leave the character alone.

Ron tortured Robin because KMcC had the nerve to want to direct, but I don't think Passanante and Altman care enough about Robin to write for her when she's not there. Which is fine with me. They have enough characters who are there that they don't write for. I also think that Robin and Patrick moving to California draws a line under those two. Not that either can't return, but moving across the country, and not to say, Manhattan, gives me an indication that the show means to be done with them.

And that JE  isn't leaving. Yeah the show treats her like crap and far less interesting characters are getting more respect and airtime than Tracy. But I think JE looks like she's having fun in her scenes again-and I'm interested to see where the stuff with Finn and Hayden may be going. I still need Hayden or some other long lost child to come out of the woodwork-preferably a girl-because there are too many men in the Q unit right now, and it desperately needs some balance. I think Emily may be alive, though. I remember a rumor NL had been spotted on the set, a few months ago. And I do think, rather than just really trying to "redeem" Nikolas, they'll have Em be alive and him fight to save her/get her back.

Guess we'll  find out shortly, either way.

Not sure if I should throw this here or in the media thread but I'll err on the side of caution. I'm seeing on the Twitter that both ME and RoHo I guess gave interviews or something and RoHo said Friz is happening and ME said he would NOT be paired with KeMo ever again. Apparently he said RC throwing them together both times - as McBain and Silas - was a huge mistake and you can't just recreate chemistry. If this is true, I thank him from the bottom of my cold, dead heart.

I'm not sure they're going to be paired together. As of now it just seems like they want to have him interact with established characters who might make him relevant. She's a character that has a 20 year history, gets screen time,  is connected to a bunch of other people, and gets people talking online.

Can't wait to see Friz!  I enjoy both actors and can't stand the Sam and Jason characters more.  Liz has chemistry with everyone and Roho is a pleasure to watch (albeit not his current character).  Sam and Jason are so boring that even my rage against Saint Jason just takes a time-out for a nap.

If Show can whitewash Sonny and his endless reign of terror because dimples, then I dgaf about Liz and Franco being a thing.  It gets less MSt whining about babies while acting like a baby, Liz isn't Jason's doormat, and Sonny has done worse than Franco in his neverending tenure of Town Saint.  Two names: Karen Wexler and AJ Quartemaine.  At least Franco gets treated like garbage.
