Collin <3 i loved her.  she was so sweet and down to earth.  my heart broke for her when she was like 'i know i'm not the best looking...'  i wish she hadn't tanned so much tho and done something with her hair.  le sigh.

I really like Colin as well.  She was cute and seemed so genuine.  It broke my heart when she broke down after being cut  :(

I like Savannah a lot and I’m really happy she got ROTY. She’s seems really sweet and well liked by her teammates. I think her dancing is fine, she may not be the best, but I don’t think she is bad. I haven’t seen that many videos of the girls dancing this season, but i haven’t seen any where I would have said she isn’t good enough for the squad. I love her dedication and her work ethic and i hope she’s makes it back. A lot of girls weren’t that great their first year and then turned into rock stars. Maybe she will as well.

I also love Tara’s look. To me she is stunning and glam and i don’t think she’s needs to change anything. I think she’s probably will get a little more glamorous still if she’s stays on the squad though. Most of them seem to ‘grow in to their look’. Even someone like Lacey, who was always pretty. Now Lacey is one of the most stunning girls lookwise.

Christina is one i really don’t care about. Whether she’s makes it back or not doesn’t really make a difference to me.. I found her annoying a lot of the time, especially her last time in training camp, now I’m just blah about her.

I love Savannah as well. Lacey is one of my all time faves!! She's been a star player since she joined the squad!  I've always rooted for Christina...and I still like her...I'm just tired of the "I tried five times to make this team" story.  She's not the only one who tried numerous times to make the squad.  I'm excited for the new season....because it seems like there is a lot of talent coming in.

Selina is going into her third year? Anything is possible, but she’ll have to be pretty bad to get cut. IIRC she’s an excellent ambassador. She also has a career, takes criticism and coaching well and is very pretty with a more unique look. They won’t keep her just for diversity’s sake, but she’s got more pros than cons. I think she’d have to make big mistakes during auditions instead of simply being outdanced.

Raylee was going into her third year as well though...

Caila was also going into her third year and Jasmine was going into her fourth. Caila was rumored to have been partying during at least part of the time her last year, gained weight (or at least looked bloated) and had a bad solo.  Jasmine had a bad solo and screwed up during the combination at Finals.

Weight is a HUGE thing for a young woman.  We've heard the horror stories about some of the hopefuls (or even those on the squad) doing unhealthy and dangerous things to either get or remain on the squad.  That should be a HUGE priority for Kelli and Judy in terms of educating themselves, then the girls, about being healthy.  For all the "We want you to lose the weight in a healthy way" we've heard on the squad, they put FAR too much emphasis on a slim and slender body, no matter how the girl is built.  Two girls could be identical in height, but be built differently and thus have two different weights.

Personally, if I ever auditioned and made it to Training Camp (ain't happening though), I would be at the weight that I and my doctor felt was best for me based on a variety of factors.  I would also speak with a doctor who specializes in working with athletes (hopefully one who works with dancers of all types) and a nutritionist who works with dancers and get their opinions (also going so far as to get it in writing).  If Judy and Kelli wanted me to weigh less than I did at that time (and was below the range that the doctor and specialists said was healthy for me), Judy and Kelli would be getting an earful.

If Judy and Kelli don't know that their expectations are unhealthy and what those expectations are doing to these girls, that's a HUGE problem and should be addressed immediately.  If they do know, and don't care because the DC brand comes first, that's an even bigger problem and one more complicated to solve.

Yuko could do no wrong in Kelli's eyes. They wouldn't have let some other rookie fly off to get their visa and miss a few days of practice, almost a week of practice if I remember correctly. I know they made an exception for Jinelle, but she was supposed to be back in time for training camp and then that whole medical issue happened.

Above quote from @nittanyvolleyball.  I totally understood the exception they made for Jinelle, being that she was a veteran...a good veteran, at that!

Kashara could be considered international with that freakin accent she over exaggerates.

LOL @mcmrdh.  Whenever anybody complains about Maggie's accent on The Walking Dead, I always think they must have never heard Kashara Garrett speak :)

Exactly, Jinelle was the only exception I could see. Maybe Angela...but did they really like Angela that much? lol

also died at MCMRDH as well. I've never heard an accent from Kentucky be THAT strong.

Oh for sure regarding Raylee in particular...that's why I pointed out the rest of Selina's qualities.  Raylee took great swimsuit pics, but was young, still a student, and we don't have any info on her successes as an ambassador and/or taking criticism well.  Based on her one post here, I wonder if she had the maturity through criticism/coaching that we saw Selina show when she was called in on her weight.  There will be other Raylees that try out, but Selina has a lot of unique qualities that will get her a little grace through weight issues or being an average (for the squad) dancer.  I liked Raylee just fine, but suspected there was more to her cut than what we were shown.

Caila and Jasmine were both rumored party girls, both had visbility put on weight and showed they were a dance risk based on their audition performances.  Based on what we've seen of Jasmine on other tv shows, I wouldn't be surprised if she was an ambassdaor risk in her later years too.  She seemed so sweet her rookie year!

It's always crazy when someone gets cut after their second year, but usually we can put some context around why.

I am from the county just North of KaShara's in Kentucky, she is from a small county (Estill) and I can assure you that IS the normal accent there (I also have distant family in that same county).  There is no over-exaggeration. :)

Thank you! I was wondering if I was the only person who knew folks from her area because, like, that IS how their accents are! :)  I love that Kash still has a heavy drawl.  Some people lose it a little when they move.

Nope :)  I absolutely love her accent and she's probably my fave DCC of all time. She is so flipping cute and sassy! I wonder what people would think if they heard me or my sisters talk ?? LOL!!  My favorite line from her on MTT: "These shorts are shorter than my attention span".  My daughter and I still quote her on that from her rookie year :)

I taught as an adjunct at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law for a year, and my oldest son was born in Louisville during that time.  I can attest to the fact that Kentucky is as country as country gets, accent and all, in the best, nicest, and most charming way possible.  We named our Louisville baby "Henry", and as I recall, several of the students in my class simply referred to him as "Hank".

Well thank you!  I worked in radio for a bit before nursing, so my "accent" has been watered down some, and I got accused of not being from Kentucky at times when I was in nursing school.  I just tell them to listen to my sisters talk and they won't doubt me anymore!!  :)

Well for me Selina isn't all that special. she's just one of the very few minorities so they might be a bit more lenient, but there are a lot of girls out there who can be good ambassadors and maintain their weight/perform better. I'm not saying Selina should be cut, i'm just saying that it doesn't always make sense. And I think they should be keeping their "blenders" who have already proved themselves instead of cutting them in favor of more blenders.

Unlike a few people here, I am NOT from Kentucky (nor have I ever been there), but I had family in Alabama and visited them as often as I could until they passed away.  Even now, 15-20 years later, I STILL get teased occasionally because I still have a slight accent on some words.  Not often anymore because people aren't paying attention to my voice (or, in some cases what I'm actually saying).  I like KaShara's accent.

I'm eagerly awaiting to hear how today went for the veterans and if they got to join rookies in showing off their routines to Kitty.  Not likely, but one can hope.

Eastern Tennessee here. Kashara's accent sounds authentic and genuine to me, too. Not everybody is that thick in the region, but some are. I like that she isn't changing herself to something she's not.

Same here :) She seems so genuine and she's naturally funny...I hope she ends up being around for at least a couple of more years.

I could not agree more.  For example, I don't see the advantage of cutting "blender" Raylee just to acquire "blender" Savannah.

I think Savannah made it because Kelli like her looks, and not for her dancing skills. I also think Savannah made it because Erica and Holly left the squad during TC. I admit I was not a fan of Raylee or little Heather, but to this day I do not understand why they were cut. In the case of Raylee, she may have ended up on Charlotte's shit list for some reason during her second year, so it meant goodbye and do not let the door hit you in your fanny on your way out at finals.

Which baffles me, because I think Raylee is infinitely prettier.  Of course they never asked me :)

We need to find a way to sneak a bug in the room when the judges are discussing the finalists and vets at finals, or we need to keep pushing for a contest where one or more of us can sit with the judges and make our own opinions about the girls. I probably would be ask to leave because I would end up questioning the reasons why some girls are or are not being brought to TC.

I have always wondered if they would consider letting a fan in to judge. It seems like a contest waiting to happen. I would love to do that too. I mean, they state that the judges are a cross section of their fan base, why not have actual fans? (And I'm not talking about the disasterous fan vote...we might end up with another Vivian's poetry)

A big, fat, h@!! YES to this suggestion!  We sit around and form our opinions during auditions anyway, without the benefit of even being there.  So next year Kelli and Judy, please invite one or two of the loyal DCC fans on this forum (and I think @LaurenBrook should be one of them) to come join the judges at auditions.  Then, at least, we'll have some basis for our opinions.  Eyes on the ground.

Actually, Kelli and Judy don't even need to wait until next year's auditions, any one of the superfans on this forum would be happy to do a fly-in for one of those celebrity visits/cut nights during training camp.

I completely agree with this because we're some of the most politely vocal (and probably honest) group out there right now.  I would LOVE to have one (or more) of our membership on the judging panel from beginning of auditions to the end.  After all, they have Neal McCoy on the panel and all we've seen him remark on is whether or not a girl is attractive.  We really haven't seen him comment on anything other than their looks.

I'm glad they got rid of the fan vote because it was more of a popularity contest than who actually did the best.  I remember Vivian seemed to be more excited about getting the votes than getting into TC and Colby said that she wasn't sure she would have made TC without winning the vote.  I'm 100% behind having a fan (preferably from this board) actually sitting on the judging panel and hopefully more than one so different opinions, especially from people who have proven they can do so politely, can be heard.

I think one can make the argument that the fan vote puffed up Viv's ego.  During social media training, when the TCCs were told it's best to keep things private, didn't Vivian ask "But what about my fans?"

She asked about her thousands of fans I believe. I was so pulling for her the first time ... the second ... not so much.

I think that whole scene just solidified the need to cut Vivian.  She wasn't a "team player" so to speak.  She wanted to be the STAR and thought that the DCC would catapult her to the status (monetarily and socially) that she so craved.  Now, she'd just another so-so dancer with few prospects of moving up the social ladder.

Thanks!

But gotta say ... Kelsey? 50 yard line Kelsey left after only 2 seasons? After trying out for so long, I would have thought she'd have stayed at least 3 seasons. Wow.

Not that they’re the same type of person, but I think of Kalyssa leaving to pursue career and modeling opportunities...and here Kelsey is, actually living those opportunities. She meets an awesome guy, they’re traveling the world, getting married, have a successful vlog, he’s super popular and talented in his own right, etc. She might have thought she’d stay longer, but she would truly be missing out on some glorious living if she did.

Tickled for Miss Kelsey. She really does seem to be living her best life.

BSG said Kalyssa left a couple months before the end of the year. I'm taking it she didn't get her rookie ring then?  Seems a shame to go through the entire year then miss out of that memento, if its true.
