So, Abigail is brutally murdered and there's no way they could bring her back. Please, if they want to, they will. Will was also murdered and brought back. Like no one is ever truly dead on Days.

Also that leaves Gwen as Jack's only daughter?

I want more of the backstage stuff.  The way the Twitter person was talking makes me wonder if the the new girlfriend is someone from the show.

I am surprised it is Abby. They have been hinting at a legacy character being killed off and I just assumed it would be Hope since KA is never returning.

Happy Sunday! After reading that news...

Good riddance CIN! But I'm going to be seriously pissed if they get a HEA.  The writers didn't care what JS/AS or the Ejami fans wanted when they left at the same time in '14 so the CIN fans shouldn't matter now. Still, I wouldn't put it past Days to have them sail off into the sunset w/their new baby as a nod to Bo & Hope.  Till we get details on their exit though, I'm holding out hope that Ciara delivers a horned-head and hoofed-feet baby boy, Ben loses it, kills her, and he and demon baby are carted off to Bayview.  That would be an appropriate ending. 

Curious if MM is leaving on her own (spend more time w/the new baby?) or her contract wasn't renewed? Anyone know the details?  I don't mind MM nearly as much as KM who grates my every last nerve so if there's a brutal death scene I vote they get KM to film it.  The next burning question--how does she die or who kills her?  Freak accident or someone possessed by the devil?

Big news for a Sunday morning!   

Even though I'm a Cin fan, I'm ok with them leaving Salem, and with the BTS Instagram rumours, plus VK not willing to stay on full time, it's not a surprise.  So letting them leave town to raise their new baby, is fine with me.

Killing Abigail also doesn't really bother me either, as I always hated KM's portrayal of her, and am just ok with MM's version.  Plus no one is really dead on Days, so if the show stays on the air, I'm sure there'll be a "back from the dead" and/or doppelganger return.  

However, I will be disappointed if Cady is the one playing Jennifer for the funeral.  Maybe MR really is done with the show, but this seems like a very big deal for a recast to handle.

And I will be really annoyed if it's Gwen that kills her, or even if Gwen gets to stay on the show.   Hmm... maybe a possessed Gwen kills her.

Oddly, I more so wonder what this means for the legacies of Bo/Hope and Jennifer.

Shawn would be the only representative for the Bo/Hope legacy on the show, and the show does not seem interested in him as a character at all.

J.J. would still be alive, but Gwen is obviously the pet at the moment. The show also obviously lost interest in him as a character.

Would this mean that Bo/Hope and Jennifer would have no significant representation for their legacy on the show. 

It would be sad if such iconic characters for Days had no significant representation on the show. 

This assumes Cady is not a permanent recast for Jennifer, which we do not know yet.

Maybe Ciara realizes that a life with Ben will be people constantly after her and her child. She can go in hiding and Shaun can promise this time to be on her side.

The BTS drama is way more interesting than the actual soap. It usually is. I'm surprised that they didn't keep RSW over VK. 

I also don't think Abby will be permanently dead but at the same time not bothered by it. I do think it would be terrible to kill her off and not have both her parents and JJ around for it. 

I do wonder what's going on BTS to the point where long timers don't seem that interested in returning to a show they called home. Maybe its because of Covid and many people took stock of their lives and realize they rather be with people they love than their job. 

Or Days is just a toxic environment(as no Abby wants to stick around for a role which is front and center and most actresses would kill for that exposure). It could be both.

I hope they don't recreate Frankie's death with this one that was so brutal to watch and killed AW(although I don't think Abby is nearly as great a character as Frankie)

Well, damn, I'm shocked that Abby will be brutally murdered. I'm not her biggest fan, but as the first born child of Jack & Jennifer I have a soft spot for her, so I hope her death doesn't stick. This better be "dead" and not Bo or Isabella DEAD DEAD. 

I wonder if before her death, Abby & Gwen will start to repair their relationship (like Steve & Jack did) and then BAM! Abby's killed and Gwen is left to mourn the sister she wronged numerous times but was starting to build a relationship with (like Jack felt after Steve's "death"). That's if Gwen is not responsible for Abby's death and the show wants to redeem Gwen (and I'm not sure what the hell the goal is with Gwen anyway). 

I am overjoyed that Ciara & Ben will be leaving!! If the show insists on killing Abigail then I want Ben to be her killer. Let him snap for whatever reason and kill Abby, and Ciara finally realizes the serial killer never changed his stripes. Then so devastated that her husband killed her cousin, Ciara leaves Salem to go live with Hope. That way CIN does not get a happily-ever-after, Ben is vilified by the town and is killed or goes to prison for life, and Ciara is left to raise her demon baby alone. Win-win!!

Either HEA or death, in Salem rarely are either permanent, but I'd rather watch dead or locked up insane for CIN this summer. Given Ben's history and the current devil plot, it would make the most sense and be the most entertaining.  Kinda like Go Big or Go Home, Ron. 😁

EJ and Will were brutally murdered, it really means nothing. If MM's leaving either by her own choice or casting, then she'd probably return with KM at some point. Which I'm all for. Considering how this show tapes even MM or KM could be back on set before all this potential spoilers even air.

What ever personal aside, which all seems like it's based on Instagram following speculation. LOL VK is just recurring, RSW is contract and signed a new one less than a year ago when they renewed DAYS. I don't see them letting him go unless he wants out. 

The people the show needs out aren't Hortons or Brady's. It's characters like Gwen and Rafe's.

Am I an Abby fan? Not really.

But she damned well deserves her status as a legacy character of one of the show's last supercouples, so killing her is a HUGE mistake. Has this show learned nothing from the original killing spree idea and the original Melaswen shit?

Add in that Abby would die and Gwen would be around to continue to waste valuable oxygen - because she is a Carlivati pet - and this rumor enrages me, even if - as I said - I don't care about Abby specifically.

Call it the principle of the thing, especially since Ron has already killed another classic character in Abby's grandmother, Laura.

Fuck Ron and fuck his pets and his "shock value" plot points.

Frankie was amazing. AW at it's worst was Shakespeare compared to Days lately.

But point taken - a woman brutally murdered on screen again would not be fun....if it were KM's Abby though....

From what I've gathered, the news or the "leak" is coming from multiple sources associated with the show. Presumably it was not meant to be released this soon, but it was and so there's been several "unofficial" confirmations.  I doubt we'll see Ron or the actors say anything yet if they want to contain the spread till their intended time or until a soap magazine exclusive.  RSW's contract (whatever the time) is inconsequential as the show likely has "out" options at various points. If the work environment between the two has become toxic, they may invoke those rights.  Or as you mentioned, he could have asked to be released too and they granted it. Since the drama w/CIN stems from the actor's personal issues, a recast of one or both of them seems like a possibility if they don't want to work together anymore.
