I was confused by that too. Was there something I missed about prostitution? I heard that the producers of the show really liked the actor who played Roller and he was only supposed to be in the first episode but they ended up keeping him on for the full season but was she dreaming? I don't get how they could've staged everything with Virginia. Also I thought there was a little bit of blood that went down the drain, so I wonder what that was about. Did Jen previously know the guy she was square dancing with? I was kind of getting affair vibes (maybe just emotional) from that scene but maybe I'm wrong. This episode left me with so many questions!! 1 Link to comment

Chick2Chic June 26, 2017 Share June 26, 2017 I love that this show keeps viewers on its toes. I didn't expect Virginia to offer the blow job and then the show actually let viewers see her spitting afterward. Also, I really jove Desna and Jen's friendship. The last few minutes revealing Uncle Daddy set up the clinic robbery and then Roller nekkid in Desna's room, although is it a dream or is he alive? If he's alive, then he and Desna are playing a hell of a con and if it's a dream, then Desna's feelings were way deeper than she stated. I feel like it could go either way since Desna really didn't want to leave Virginia at her place alone for the day. I know some hate Roller, but I'm in the minority and don't hate the character. He's full of himself but if the stuff at the house was a set up, then there's more going on that I want to see with him and Desna. It's not just that there's chemistry with the leads Roller being alive alters everything that has come with his "death" as well as Desna's behavior. Plus crafty Uncle Daddy in his snakeskin blazer. 2 Link to comment

I'm glad Desna won over the stuck-up realtor, but I hated it took that much to get her full attention. The nail set that looked like a Tiffany lamp was gorgeous, I'm seriously considering getting my nails done like that. Uncle Daddy is devious as hell, but Bryce is an idiot. Roller is alive, or Desna is hallucinating, which shows that she really misses Roller. I wasn't sure. If he's alive, then I can't wait to hear why he and Desna chose to pretend that he's dead. He could have survived, I mean he only got shot once in the shoulder and he's use to coming back after being strangled, which is why he popped out of that water after Desna tried to strangle him. Uncle Daddy, set the whole thing up. I love Dean, he's an interesting character. Well they all are, but I really like Dean and HP is doing a great job. No truer words Dean, with the we are living in perilous times, LOL. By the way what did Dean say to Desna about the state of her bedroom? I heard him say that she wasn't sleeping, but I couldn't understand/hear what he said about her room? And maybe whatever he said at the beginning of the episode about her bedroom is a clue as to what the hell is going on with the "Roller" sighting. Syndicate June 26, 2017 Share June 26, 2017 Remember, Jack Kesy's "Roller" was supposed to be a "one and done" character, which explains why he was killed off in the pilot. That was supposed to be the end of the character AND the actor, but producers liked Jack Kesy enough to re-establish him as a series regular. I want to believe they brought him back as more than just nightmare material. I'd love a twist of the person we saw preparing to lay the pipe on Desna was actually Roller's twin brother who was thought to have died at birth. Desna somehow found out that Roller had a twin, who actually survived, and has been keeping him a secret and in hiding AND she's been fucking him on the sly. Oh my! 1 Link to comment

Has it been established that Jen and her husband have repeatedly fucked up and had to run to Uncle Daddy to help them clean up the mess? I don't think that's why he set Bryce up, to teach him a lesson. He did it because he knew Bryce was wet behind the ears and it would be easy to set him up so that he would then owe him a lot of money. What was it 80K in losses? So now they all have to work that off and that keeps them working for Uncle Daddy when they are all trying to get out. Yeah, this is going to end really well for him, poor guy. When Jen finds out about her pal Desna's roll in all this, with Roller dying or at this point maybe not dying and he and Desna in on something, she's going to be pissed. This might break that friendship up, because if Roller were still around then Bryce might have most definitely been spared from having to work at the clinic and risk relapsing. We shall see. SimoneS June 26, 2017 Share June 26, 2017 I also read somewhere that Claws had been renewed before season 1 aired. Even if that is not the case, the ratings in the key 18 to 49 year old demo are pretty strong, .4 live, doubling to .8 in the +3 day so renewal is very likely. Link to comment
J-Man June 26, 2017 Share June 26, 2017 Quote Did Jen previously know the guy she was square dancing with? I was kind of getting affair vibes (maybe just emotional) from that scene but maybe I'm wrong. I'm pretty sure they all know each other (the guy, Desna, and Jenn) because they're next-door neighbors at the strip mall. Does anyone think that the part of Desna might have originally been written for a younger, and perhaps less ethnic actress? I love Niecy Nash to death, but her character just doesn't fit her age and ethnicity all that well. Link to comment

So this character is strange for a black woman within Niecy Nash's age group? Really? Doesn't seem odd to me at all. According to the show runner it was written with her in mind, she wanted Niecy Nash in that character and leading the show, and I personally think she's awesome. The casting is great all around IMO. As a matter a fact, I posted a video with all of them talking about their roles in the other thread and this is mentioned. Niecy telling the show runner that she's never led a show and the show runner saying never mind that, you're leading this one. 37 minutes ago, SimoneS said: I also read somewhere that Claws had been renewed before season 1 aired. Yeah, and I don't I read it, I think I heard in on one of those entertainment news programs. Edited June 26, 2017 by Keepitmoving 11 Link to comment
NorthstarATL June 27, 2017 Share June 27, 2017 I could NOT stop laughing all the way through this episode! "Tit" us just amused the heck out of me, because of COURSE she wouldn't know how to pronounce it! So Uncle Daddy is screwing them over, and MAYBE Des and Roller are doing the same to him? Or he's a dream...or a twin..or a clone...or....I don't even know...but he has a fine ass. Polly's SLA story was hysterical. I think the only things that bog the story down for me is still Des' brother. 4 Link to comment

One of the bridesmaids (the one that Quiet Ann felt up, I think) asked Virginia if she had to give her captors a "blowjay", which probably got her thinking along those lines. And the clerk didn't care at all about the $25 (LOL) but a pretty girl giving him a "hummer" -- that would do the trick (so to speak...) 13 hours ago, HunterHunted said: Quiet Ann!!!! Now I think about it -- Roller was identified by a bit of blood and his "grill" -- and didn't Desna tell Virginia to put them in the boat? And on a show like this, whenever there's a body burned to a crisp, it's never who it was supposed to be! 4 Link to comment
tennisgurl June 27, 2017 Share June 27, 2017 Uncle Daddy, you devious piece of shit! And hold on now, Roller is in Des`s bedroom? Right now I think he's a hallucination (I mean, she set the boat on FIRE!), but who knows? I would buy her missing him and imagining seeing Roller again, even if she knew he was an sshole. I got the vibe at the funeral that while he might have been screwing other woman, Roller did consider Des to be his Main Squeeze, so maybe they did have more of an actual relationship? A super messed up trashy one, but a relationship none the less. Poor Bryce, getting totally screwed over. I feel really bad for the guy. He seems to be really trying to stay sober and be a good husband/father, and he clearly has no skill/desire to be a criminal, but now his shitty dad has manipulated him into working for him forever. I don't at all see this ending well for him. Oh my God, Virginia and her story! Of course she comes up with a ridiculously convoluted story about being kidnapped and tied to a toilet in the swamp and having barnyard animals almost eat her. Des was giving the most hilarious "oh my God are you KIDDING me?" expressions while she was giving her story, while everyone else seemed to be totally buying it, it was making me laugh way too hard. Granted, considering how batshit this show is already, and the trashy ridiculousness of Uncle Daddy and his people, I can see how they would accept something like that. This show, is, like, my perfect summer show. Trashy and ridiculous, but with actually talented people who are actually putting effort into it. 11 Link to comment

Really enjoying Niecy Nash's performance and all of the craziness of the Salon I thought the medicine robbery might be an inside job. But I never suspected Uncle Daddy And why does Mandy have so much control over Desna's ability to open a salon in a nicer neighborhood? 4 Link to comment

I'd say she led Clean House for ten seasons! That was some fine reality show acting. ;-) 3 Link to comment
LAgator77 June 27, 2017 Share June 27, 2017 2 nitpicks: 1)Beef O'Brady's is an actual restaurant chain, not some janky convenience store with fried chicken under a heat lamp. Weird that they would name-drop the restaurant chain. 2)Desna had to drive down a dirt road (the same dirt road?) to get to both the convenience store and She She's... Um Florida has paved roads y'all. 2 Link to comment
