They don't know how to fight or fend for themselves. Take away all their modern creature comforts, drop them into a ZA, and they do what they have to or die. Some of the bravest most capable people in the world, wouldn't necessarily survive in the ZA or any other apocalypse. Maggie knew farming from Herschel, and I'm going with Maggie and the Hilltoppers are exchanging information about growing things. Maggie and Sasha showing them how to fight was more believable. Cyndie helped Tara leave Oceanside alive so why didn't Tara sneak in and try to talk to Cyndie, actually talk, not issue ultimatums, before CDB started blowing things up, and wasting bullets? Also, if some of the Oceansiders want to go with Rick's group and fight, they should have. The only thing saving the Sasha SL for me is the image I have of Sasha slashing Negan's neck when he is once again yakking and talking about rules, and using Sasha to threaten CDB. I know it won't happen, but I can dream. Because I really want Sasha, Maggie, Carol or Carl to be the one to kill Negan. I don't dislike Rosita or Tara, but like so many other characters, they were never developed, and I was never given a reason to care about them. Both Rosita and Daryl can't be bothered to mention where Sasha is? It's this kind of stupidity, and non-communication the ruins the story. I can see it now. The Rickettes attack Negan's compound, and Negan will have Sasha as leverage. Rick and Company will be, "Oh no, Negan has Sasha whatever will we do?" And I will be, "Something spectacularly stupid that will be guaranteed to get a bunch of red shirts killed." To me I have a feeling it's going to be like when Governor had Michonne & Hershel hostage. That's what I think is gonna happen with Negan & Sasha. Link to comment
Madding crowd March 27, 2017 Share March 27, 2017 To me it was clear that Sasha is not planning to kill herself. Once Negan took the knife, she asked Eugene for a weapon and didn't want him to think it was for possibly killing Negan. She looked upset when Eugene brought her the pill because it's likely she can't use it against anyone. I think they could have found a way to bring the groups together without it being so boring. I didn't like how the Oceanside stuff went down and if the only way to get the garbage people on board is to give them hundreds of guns, maybe leave them out of it. The best way to fight would be to have many armed people, not a few people with hundreds of weapons. I hate seeing the tiger (I know it was in previews). It doesn't look real, tigers are wild animals and people would not be safe strolling around next to it. Another comic book thing that looks stupid on screen. I realize I have barely been posting on the last few episodes and it's because it is just tedious. I hope Eugene proves useful to CDB in the end or gets killed-never cared for him and he like Abraham and Rosita always seemed comic book to me. 3 Link to comment

He probably doesnt even believe men are ever raped by women. Fuck him. Part of my thinking on this is informed by reading the comic. The first time he met Rick he threatened to let his guys Reveal hidden contents "run a train" on Carl (who was about 8 years old in the story at that time) which is "a euphemism for a gangbang or a gang-rape". Moving on to other thoughts... Unless Sasha means for Eugene to be caught out, she best break that lamp they left in her cell and use some glass to slit her wrists in addition to taking that pill otherwise, whomever comes into that cell and finds her dead-undead ass will ALSO find the baggie that pill was in, Negan will quickly put 1+1 and BOOM, into the fire with Eugene, stupid stupid bullshit plan there yall. Lastly I gotta get this off my chest as Ive been thinking about it all morning. The show-runners, most of the cast and even Hardwick are all on this bullshit rhetorical idea that "if we started the show with Negan, we would feel for him the same as we feel for Rick and we would see that Rick is EQUAL in awfulness to Negan". Now granted, Rick holds a lifetime pass to the crazy train and is usually its conductor. And Rick has flat out murdered people for looking at him menacingly (Herschel's unexpected bar patrons). HOWEVER, think about it like this; Negan and Rick both started out at the SAME time (ok, quibble if you like, Rick was about a month behind due to being in a coma), they've both been through all the shit, different only in detail. It's been roughly 2-ish years and Negan is Negan, a person who has no compunction about brutality often for brutality's sake (I mean really, what he did to the doctor was just brutal to be brutal). If Rick was going to be = to Negan, he already would be. As another poster up-thread said, Rick is much more like Governor than he is anything (even that I would not be fully on board with but that's another discussion). Negan would take all those guns and take at least some of those women for various purposes (harem being chief among them) and hell, burn down the cozy shacks for giggles. RICK asked them to volunteer and told them the guns would be returned (assuming they survived of course). Not the same. Watch the scene in the bar again (I had to in order to know for sure). The chatty guy pulls his gun on Rick before Rick counters by pulling his own and shooting him. 4 Link to comment

He is not supposed to come off like a skinny cackling grand ma. Quote Meanwhile at Hilltop....Maggie is apparently this huge savior (no pun intended) because she's teaching them how to garden. But then we would not have several minutes of precious screen time devoted to Maggie and her "Ellie Mae Clampett" southern accent talking about "tarp don't tuuuch ". The only point of those scenes is to show how incompetent and nasty Gregory is compared to Maggie, so we all say, "Wouldn't it be great if Maggie is the leader". I wish they could have found another way but meh - as they always say "no one has to die today" and no one did. I think each approach worked for each group. Hilltop - knew they were helpless with a coward for a leader so they confront the people head on and let them choose Kingdom - knew they had a smart capable leader so they try and reason Guardians of the Galaxy - the only thing they knew as that they kidnapped one of their own and stole all their food. With no intel and weapons they did what they had to try and get a deal and not die Coachella - They kill on sight and have weapons. Take them by surprise, ask nicely, if they say no take them anyway and give them an chance to secure their parameter. There is no good, fair, decent way to do anything. EllenC March 27, 2017 Share March 27, 2017 (edited) I'm actually interested in Carl, too. I just wish it didn't feel like we've gone weeks without seeing characters and then jump into what should be deep-ish conversations. The pacing this season just feels wackier than ever, as we try to get all these new groups (with only a few non-anonymous characters) in place while listening to Negan talk. And talk. As for Heath, it just seems odd that someone like Aaron wouldn't at least mention him in passing (whether presumed dead, missing, whatever), not that they'd necessarily mount a huge search party at the moment. But maybe I'm forgetting -- I pay more attention to the live chat than the show some weeks now, I freely admit! Conversations/characters seem more obviously plot devicey than I once felt them to be. ShadowSixx March 27, 2017 Share March 27, 2017 (edited) I like Carl too, but most characters weren't necessary in this episode given the very little dialogue they received. Should have been mostly Sasha, Eugene, Oceanside, & Tara (unfortunately) and very very very little Negan. Would have been better if Rick & Latania talking and then it went bad with CDB taking the guns instead of doing it the way they did with making noise and drawing walkers to their location. Hilltop scenes weren't all that necesarry either. Writers could have done a well thought out episode but it looked like copy & paste scenes together, it's more ridiculous then the CGI deer and the green screen with GPK. I mean Carl & Enid 20 word conversation was pointless as well as Aaron & Eric's 10 word conversation. Edited March 27, 2017 by ShadowSixx 1 Link to comment

Dobian March 27, 2017 Share March 27, 2017 I had to laugh when that one walker jumped on Gregory. These things always plod along, and I can see how if you aren't paying close attention they can close the gap on you pretty fast. But this thing leaped on him like a jungle cat, lol. Maybe they're getting tips from the tiger. 6 Link to comment

A simple walk up and stab in the head should take 3 seconds at most. 4 Link to comment

This happens ALL the time. Perfectly fit people struggling with a bag of bones that is barely standing. Give me a fucking break. 6 Link to comment
TattleTeeny March 27, 2017 Share March 27, 2017 (edited) Oh my goodness, me too! I bet she was dilly-dallying on purpose, haha! Maybe even the zombies find him generally irritating. Edited March 27, 2017 by TattleTeeny 1 Link to comment
EllenC March 27, 2017 Share March 27, 2017 I was also distracted by the fact she was out there working alone, seemingly. Doesn't the buddy system generally seem like a good idea in a zombie apocalypse? A Dale (RIP)-style stealth walker can be on you in a second. 3 Link to comment

First season they were able to run, climb stairs, gates, and pick up rocks and bash it against a window. Maybe it would be better if the walkers mutated after a few years of being a walker like that game The Last of Us. 1 Link to comment

Also, if some of the Oceansiders want to go with Rick's group and fight, they should have. I bet if they had approached them in this way and actually tried to TALK to them about it, they might have had a large amount want to sign up. The fact that even a few of them would still consider fighting, after the shit CDB/ASZ pulled storming into that place and stealing guns, shows me how much these women want Negan gone too. If Rick had just tried talk instead of bombs, he may very well have had a large enough majority on his side to get Oceanside to fight. It really makes no sense, to me, that the show went this route. Rick is a talker. He thinks he can talk anyone into anything. 51 minutes ago, EllenC said: I'm actually interested in Carl, too. I just wish it didn't feel like we've gone weeks without seeing characters and then jump into what should be deep-ish conversations. The pacing this season just feels wackier than ever, as we try to get all these new groups (with only a few non-anonymous characters) in place while listening to Negan talk. And talk. Carl is one of my favorite characters and I've loved him since day one. But his short little scenes last night were cringe worthy. These writers SUCK at writing for children/young adults. They project, but don't actually understand. Carl and Enid having some deep, angsty conversation while all of this was going down was just so pathetic and unbelievable. 4 Link to comment

They are a lot more decomposed now and should be easier to take down. As a whole. Of course, new people will turn and not be so rotten. But, as a whole, most turned at the very beginning and should be barely standing by now. 2 Link to comment

Negan boasted to Sasha that "a little birdy" told him Rick is up to no good and something would have to be done about that. Seems plausible that he might order Dwight to mosey over to Alexandria, pretend to be a traitor, and lead CDB into a setup. Thank you!! I was beginning to think I was the only one who heard that and figured Dwight was sent there by Negan to set up Rick & Co. to walk into a trap by giving him false information or something. And who was the "little birdy" who told Negan? I'm thinking it was Gregory. If memory serves, he spent a few minutes talking to the guy from the Saviors while the others were out looking around. And he seems like just the kind of weasel who would squeal to protect himself. Link to comment

Also, what the heck have they been feeding it. Tigers are carnivores. 2 hours ago, Sighed I said: Maybe he was referring to Gregory's conversation with Simon? While the Saviors don't have definitive proof Hilltop is in cahoots with Alexandria, the timing between the demand for Gregory's head in exchange for the Hilltopian hostage and CDB's attack on the satellite location is way too convenient to ignore. Or maybe he was referring to a much more recent conversation with Gregory who, after showing his uselessness in front of Maggie, ordered one of his minions to drive him somewhere. As for Heath, he has been over on Skull island duking it out with Kong. 2 Link to comment
alrightythen March 27, 2017 Share March 27, 2017 I don't have a good feeling about Carl's future. I'm betting Heath's disappearance will set the stage for next season. Tara found those matches with that PPP (or whatever) symbol on it. 1 Link to comment

I worked at a wild animal park in college. The head cat trainer would sometimes walk this male tiger around the park on a big chain leash, just like Ezekiel in the show. Of course, any control he had over it was just an illusion. One day they walked in front of the stroller rental/candy and film shop I ran. The tiger decided it was hungry for some M&Ms or something so he lunged up onto the candy trays on the counter right in front of me, his paws hanging over the counter less than a foot away from me while it rooted through the goodies. The trainer yanked on his chain a couple of times and the tiger got back down like, "whatever". But yes, I had 400 pounds of man-eater in my face, and was too stunned to even realize how much danger I was in until much later. Edited March 27, 2017 by Dobian 8 Link to comment
