Yeah, the plane trip surprised me when I got the alert. They didn't stay long though. The plane was back in Springdale the same night (a Friday, landed just in time for the RA meeting).

Sounds like a quick, drop-somebody-off flight to me.  That's what they did the first time Josh went there in 2015.  They dropped Josh off, the wardens met him at the airport, then the plane flew right back to Arkansas.  If we don't see new pictures of Josh during the next six months, I will believe that he is back at reform school at Reformers Unanimous.

It wouldn't surprise me if Josh likes being at Reformers Unanimous. The place is basically Bible Camp for adults, right? So he tells Boob he's having "urges" and skates away from the wife and kids for a few months. It's probably more of a vacation than a punishment for a guy who hates family life in the first place.

I doubt that he likes it there.  It involves 40 hours a week of unpaid, physical labor, all the other waking hours are spent in Bible study, institutional food, no snacks, no sex, no masturbating, no leaving the premises, no TV, no computer, no radio, limited phone calls/mail/visitors, etc.  The other 'inmates' are mostly drug addicts who are experiencing withdrawal symptoms without medical supervision.  Jim Bob sent him there the first time as a punishment and to cure his addiction to porn and prostitutes.

Sounds like living in the Duggar compound or marriage Duggar style. Please excuse me as I leave for the Prayer Closet before the freezing rain and snow comes.

Yes, but I don't think any of that applied to Josh the first time around. The Duggars are Fundie celebrities and I think Josh probably got VIP treatment: a private room, exemption from work detail, all the potato chips and ice cream he wanted (he certainly didn't come out looking any thinner than he did going in, so I doubt he was going without snacks or working up a sweat). The people who run those for-profit rehab places aren't stupid. For all they knew, Josh might go on to become a big deal on the Fundie redemption circuit and maybe even get himself back on TV (and for all we know, he still might). So, it would be in their best interests to make his stay as comfortable as possible, in the hope that he would bring them some good PR.

Having said that, I doubt if they let him have any Internet access. Jim Bob would have made damn sure of that.

Yes, but he gets time alone, away from his wife and kids and 3,000 family members. Maybe he has the "3 hots and a cot" mentality.

Either way, if I was married to him, he’d be buried in the backyard.

For realz.

I can't even muster up any sympathy for Anna either because she's the one who keeps choosing to procreate with this slimeball. She's going to keep the Band-Aid baby train going for as long as possible.

She had a serious case of “baby hunger” before her perfect Joshuuuuuuaaaa shat all over their marriage.  I think she still does to some degree.  The way every other word out of her mouth was “babies” with the same crazed MeChelle look in her eyes was disturbing.

It’s interesting that Josh goes to Jesus Jail every time Anna has a new baby. Either he cheats every time she’s pregnant or he likes getting out of any responsibility that comes with a newborn.

If you were married to him and your backyard suddenly had a lot of 'work done to it' you would probably have a shit ton of available alibi's provided to you.  Hand me a shovel...

I'm picturing us drawing straws to see who gets the unfortunate task of handling Josh's man-bits.

Ewww... Someone should not read that while having a bad headache and not feeling well. Btw, I do not see much in the way of Josh's man-bits. Okay off to the Prayer Closet.

It was long enough to attend a meeting, but I checked in on it  occasionally, and there weren't any special speakers or anything out of the ordinary, really.

We'll have to be on the lookout for. Smuggar in pictures in the coming weeks/months.

I bet he had a "relapse".

Anna has been hidden on Counting On.  I think that is kinda weird.

Josh was probably caught doing something vile, yet again.  Sex offenders often do.

I bet he was dropped off at RU and that plane drop off was hidden between the pregnancy announcements and all that frenzy.

Yes. Anna was on the earlier seasons of counting on pretty regularly- where has she been?!

I think they finally realized anything Smuggar-related is bad for business. Every time Anna's onscreen it's like there's a sign over her head that says "Wife of the Child Molester." It's a stink that won't go away, even if Josh himself doesn't appear on the show.

Agreed, sadly every time I see her I think "You poor fool."

She’s hiding out eating salad while she “works on her contentment” because she’s been raised to believe it’s all her fault.

Which is a shame, because Anna is a pretty girl, but all I see is "weak, wet, and possibly even rabbity" when I look at her now.  She always looks damp and martyred, like she's been recently rescued from crying.

Wow, I never thought of it before, but she has taken on a ferret-y look in recent years, hasn't she? There's just something desperate about her, like she's clinging to an extended family that really doesn't want her. It doesn't seem like any of the siblings interact with Smuggar and Anna unless they're forced to.

  • Love 12

That’s the thing...why would you WANT to interact with someone who ruined your public persona?  And eliminated the main income source for the family?  And who did nasty things to fellow siblings?  I think they play nice with Josh because Jesus. But that doesn’t mean they have to like it.

And in regards to Anna, their insane belief system puts all the blame for Josh on her and her “inability” to keep him satisfied. I think they arranged the marriage as a way to keep him in line and saw Anna as his “savior” of sorts.  And when he led that double life that Anna couldn’t control it, the situation became all her fault.  But it’s not her responsibility to “fix” him and keep him on the straight and narrow.

Whst I want to know is why did she stay with the Duggars when Joshley was in Jesus jail?  Did they have her under house arrest?  It sure felt like it.

Anna stayed  because she has been told her whole life that she has no choice.  It's hard to escape the brainwashing she's gotten over a lifetime.  She's a victim of the fundie equivalent of Stockholm Syndrome.

Boob kept Anna under lock and key not because the family loves her and wants to protect her....he was doing damage control.......couldn't risk letting her go and bring lured away by numerous rag mags and TV offers to spill the Duggar family dirt!

Especially since she had a couple of lapsed-fundie siblings who offered her asylum, if I recall...I realize that she had probably gotten a double-dose of kool-aid once she got hooked in with the Duggars, but if she'd have had real freedom to communicate at will with said siblings, they might have been able to sway her. I do think that a lot of her sequestered state was probably self-imposed, but I doubt that she was in any way encouraged to seek  out any solace which was not strictly within the fundy circle, nor would the "outsiders" be made to  feel anything but unwelcome.

I can see your point, but it seems odd to credit her with not having freedom to communicate at will with her siblings... didn't she have a cell phone?  I don't think the Dugs are so bad that she couldn't have found any time to herself in that barn of the TTH to hunker down and talk with them.  I'd think it's in fact more likely that she specifically shied away from talking to non-koolaid-drinking siblings, because she was afraid of precisely that - that they would be giving her pieces of their mind about lovely Josh-U-a left and right (we know the brother, at minimum, wasn't shy).

Don't quote this for truth but it  was bored last night and I watched RU live and at the end they were told to go to the back to sign up for groups and 95% of them were walking and there was one still facing forward with the same figure and height and hair as Smuggar has. If this was him they told him to not move utill we were offline. I know that they download it so you can watch it at a future date.

I still get the Livestream reminders each week, so I dug it out of my Trash and took a look at the people leaving. There IS one guy whose profile you can sort of see walking off to the left instead of out of the auditorium like everyone else. COULD be him, but I'm giving it a grade of Inconclusive.

When I  re-wtch it I am going to freeze frame it.

You can just scroll to about 45 minutes in. That's what I did. No way I was going to endure what is the equivalent of Chinese water torture and actually WATCH.

when I get a chance to rewatch it that's what I'm going to do cuz I already have it written down 45 minutes

The only thing worth watching is Cisco in the second section. Not to fat-shame, but he went to RU for a food addiction, and it doesn't appear that he's lost any weight since I first saw him. Doesn't say much for the success of RU.

It does say a lot about the success of RU. They are very successful in scaming the people out of their money.
