I don't have a hell of a lot to compare it to, Scoob. I've been to Las Vegas and I've been to smaller tribal casinos in the Northwest. It's kind of a "destination" casino in that there's plenty to do if you don't want to gamble - shopping, spa, etc. I think it's nice - not cheesy.

The casino is part of the Pequot Nation. It's a shame LuAnn couldn't go on the trip. I'm sure she would have busted out some amazing signature necklaces for the occasion, all the while reminding us of her Native American roots.

It really is an ok place. The only problem is the smoking situation there.

If you are familiar with the Casinos in California, it is very much like Barona in San Diego County.

It could have been worst, they could have gone to Resorts World Casino. ;-)

Hmmm, well now, I'm curious.  See, I really like going to Vegas when I have to go there for conventions for work -- cuz I like the shopping & checking out the hotels & sometimes seeing shows.  But I never gamble cuz I'm just not interested.

I figured the worst thing possible is to be isolated & stuck in one hotel.  I realized that's not true.  It depends on the hotel.  I stayed in the Borgata in AC a few years ago for a few days & never left there (and never gambled), but it was fine.

Still, I wonder if we're gonna get a feel of what Foxwoods is like or it's just gonna be yet another painful hour of ONLY close-ups of monster Bethenny screaming at everyone near her.  Oy, I can't take much more of Godzilla Bethenny.  Make it stop, please, Satan Andy -- take pity on us poor viewers, & boot monster Bethenny off the show, please!

Truth be told, I was at Joanne a few nights ago & the food is really yummy & the place looks adorbs.  But tell me, could anyone tell that from this ep?  No, of course not.  

Everyone in the cast (except ass-muncher Carole) was too terrified & nauseated by monster Bethenny to discuss food.  And Satan Andy was too busy pulling in closeups of his palsy walsy, monster Bethenny, for us to see how nice this restaurant looks.  Yeesh, monster Bethenny, would ya fuckin' scram from this show so I can get back to liking it again?

I was a bit surprised that Ramona chose a location that senior citizens in the tri state area take bus trips to.  They'll be up there blowing their social security checks while the gang is filming episodes?  Just too weird of a dichotomy.

I thought that Beth was going there to taste Tequilas in order to expend her brand.

I have to wonder why they cut back on the big trips for the NY women, even Atl. went to Jamaica and the OC is going to Ireland. When the NY HWs went to Montana, I suspect, it was because production kept it state side for Aviva's travel issues (even though she was a no show anyway), which makes me wonder which HW is holding up the big NY trip this season. I am going to guess they didn't go anywhere exotic because Bethenny either could not or would not travel due to her fibroids and or time away from Bryn (like last season).

Now this is one of the reasons  I cannot stand Crazy Eyes. She has absolutely no personality, opinion, beliefs--nothing. Everything is just a put-on for the moment. Casino's  pretty typical.  there are a couple of nice restaurants at MGM, there's a club called Shrine that is apparently a hot spot (I wouldn't know, being beyond the expiration date for that place! but I do like to see the dressed-to-the-nines twentysomethings making their way there on Saturday nights!)

 the bowling alley is a little nicer than your average bowling alley, banquettes & martinis & whatnot.

Well, their 'big' trip this season was supposed to be to Mexico.  Beth couldn't go because of medical reasons and she was the 'host'.  I don't see why they couldn't have gone without her.  Some excuse like Beth wanted the girls to go anyway could have been made.  Are the PTB that afraid of the women doing something without Beth?  Or is there something in her contract?  Or did she make a really big stink about Skinnygirl not getting the promotion she planned on during the trip?  It really makes me wonder. 

This will be the shortest season in a while.  All because the trip was cancelled.  I'm sure they were planning two episodes for it.

Except didn't Bethy go to Mexico by herself?  And she didn't get any surgery or anything until after the season was done?  So I don't buy that her fibroids were the reason they didn't go to Mexico.  And, as you said, why couldn't the other women go on a trip without her?  If Andy is worried about drama, there was plenty of drama last season after Bethy left early from the trip....naked juice guy!

Bethenny did the let's exclude Luann and Sonja so she could come back and do "Aren't I a great person throwing you two a bone after you were voted off the trip?"   What she didn't count on was the Countess wasn't go to grovel and give Bethenny her moment.  In real life Bethenny took the trip but without the ladies-so it is fake to say she could not travel because of fibroids.  I think the producers got turned off when Bethenny said her booze partner takes responsible drinking seriously.  Are the producers going to all of sudden say the women can only drink as much as Bethenny tells them they can? 

The producers were smart they weighed engagement parties albeit Palm Beach vs. Skinnygirl Responsible Drinking Mexico party.  Bethenny wan't to assert her almighty power and Luann wasn't having any of it. 

To me the meeting to discuss Luann and her Countess ways was an attempt to re-tool and make it as if Luann was the one that didn't want to spend time with them.  Well duh, after weeks of saying they didn't want Luann around she had moved on to a better place.  Same with Sonja-she knew Luann would film with her.  Then things went down the crapper very quickly when Jules and Bethenny got into it.  The Mexico trip was down to Dorinda, Ramona, Bethenny and Carole. 

To me Bethenny shot herself in the foot, when she kept moving the goal posts and making her trip so important and three of the others decided it wasn't worth it to go on her trip.  Bethenny invents fibroids story about restricting her travel.  Not buying it. 

The producers saw the real story was in Luann's engagement not the stupid Tequila Museum trip.

What Bethenny claims is she took an ill-advised ski trip to Aspen with her daughter and had to go to the emergency room.  She blamed the altitude.  So if she had no intervening surgery how is it she could travel to Palm Beach and Mexico?

The trip got cancelled because there were too many strings attached.  I took it that Bethenny had made a commitment and could not be flexible.  I don't think you can say I cancelled the trip this week because of my fibroids, but next week I went.  As much as Bethenny wants us to believe she has the worst case ever, it sure didn't cramp her bikini wearing.

Bethenny took a trip to Aspen after she cancelled the surgery.

I’m gonna give Bethenny a pass on the Mexico trip. Everything about that trip involved her Skinny Girl Brand and partners and that is how the trip was announced on the show pre-Fibroid Apocalypse . All the rights and signed releases were done beforehand involving the places they would tour, events = I,e, helicopter ride, dinners/restaurants, and accommodations. Also the logistical nightmare of a crew going to film at all of the locations was also pre-arranged.

It wouldn’t have made sense for them to go to Mexico. Bravo should have had a plan B and plan C in place for an alternate “glamourous” destination trip. It could have been introduced by one of the other ladies as a getaway from the NY winter and it wouldn’t even have had to make sense (like when doesn’t have heat in her house Sonja “planned” the Turks and Caicos trip). A trip which Bethenny did not have to go on due to her Fibroid Grenades or SkinnyGirl obligations. Why not go to St Tropez where Sonja claims to own a home or Gstaad Switzerland or to the besotted Arabian Prince in her pocket.

They could have still done all those things in Mexico without Bethy, especially since it was all planned.  None of the Ho stuff has anything to do with whatever Bethy was doing down there.  It's not like these women were going to do much beyond drink, hang out by the pool, and listen to Bethy bitch about something.  Without her, they could have enjoyed the helicopter ride and dinners and real, full-flavored margaritas made with great tequila and fresh limes without having to listen to her bitch.  SkinnyGirl, etiher the brand or the woman, didn't have to be part of any of it.

I'm not so sure about that.  The doggy wedding was on January 13th and that's when Dorinda announced the trip was cancelled.  Beth didn't go to Mexico by herself until the week of the 24th in February.  My feeling was that the group trip was planned for the end of January and at that time Beth was going to have surgery.  She didn't cancel the surgery until the day before and then went to the other doctor who put her on meds and she started to feel better.  This was also during the time that she took Bryn to Aspen (sometime in Feb or Mar because she said Bryn was on 'break'). 

Were there some strings attached to the Mexico trip?  Beam Suntory owns a number of tequila brands.  At least two are from Tequila, Mexico and I'm sure there was going to be a tie in with 'these' brands.  Was Beam Suntory picking up the cost for the whole trip?  I have doubts.  Could production reschedule the trip after Beth nixed the surgery?  Maybe they tried and it didn't work out or they decided not to because it would screw up other plans for the season even more.  Maybe Beth was pissed about this and went to Mexico later in the month to smooth things out with the tequila companies - or was she meeting her boyfriend down there.  I don't know.

There are still four maybe five more episodes, three reunion and lost footage.  Same length of season.  The trip became the one to Palm Beach.  Bethenny said so much happened it became three episodes.

I think she did go. She/Carole talked about the PB trip on 1 of her radio shows right before the reunion and Bethenny made it sound like she was there. I think the confusion came because Bethenny posted photos of herself in Mexico close to the same time as the PB trip. Either the PB trip was short one or maybe Bethenny left early. None of the other HWs that went on that trip posted any photos that included Bethenny.

Tommy Tune was January 12th, and Bethenny was talking about the trip on that day with Luann.  I just don't think the trip was eminent 

My point is I don't think Bethenny's trip and the redemption arc of getting everyone together worked. I think she used the fibroids as an excuse. Luann was in Palm beach on January 24th., LA on February 1st.  I think the trip was scheduled, like they usually are for season's end.  They started filming in November so I would think it would have been the February date.   

Tequila, Mexico is in the middle of nowhere.  I think they were going to Cabo.  There would nothing to lure them to Tequila, Mexico but Cabo has a Tequila Museum and many tequila tasting bars.  I am only going by what Bethenny said about the trip being a business trip. I think it was simply a case of Bethenny overplaying her importance and assuming production would shoot down Luann getting engaged because she Bethenny would not be center stage.  It was a bonehead move to sit down and vote people in and out on the trip.  Even stupider to think she could get Luann to grovel to go.  Luann goes where she is told by production.

The cancellation of the trip could have been something as unrelated as the ladies demanding to be compensated if they were doing a Beam/Suntory commercial.  I mean at some point you have Bethenny refusing to go to any launches, so why should these women be uncompensated shills for Skinnygirl.  Not only not compensated, but required to "drink responsibly".

Did Bethenny go to Palm Beach?

I believe she did.  Originally Luann said something to the effect, she is not invited but Sonja is.  I don't know if she actually attended the engagement dinner.

My point is I don't think Bethenny's trip and the redemption arc of getting everyone together worked. I think she used the fibroids as an excuse. Luann was in Palm beach on January 24th., LA on February 1st.  I think the trip was scheduled, like they usually are for season's end.  They started filming in November so I would think it would have been the February date.   

Tequila, Mexico is in the middle of nowhere.  I think they were going to Cabo.  There would nothing to lure them to Tequila, Mexico but Cabo has a Tequila Museum and many tequila tasting bars.  I am only going by what Bethenny said about the trip being a business trip. I think it was simply a case of Bethenny overplaying her importance and assuming production would shoot down Luann getting engaged because she Bethenny would not be center stage.  It was a bonehead move to sit down and vote people in and out on the trip.  Even stupider to think she could get Luann to grovel to go.  Luann goes where she is told by production.

The cancellation of the trip could have been something as unrelated as the ladies demanding to be compensated if they were doing a Beam/Suntory commercial.  I mean at some point you have Bethenny refusing to go to any launches, so why should these women be uncompensated shills for Skinnygirl.  Not only not compensated, but required to "drink responsibly".

My point was that when you posted the instagram of Beth in Mexico from the end of February, you said:

I don't think you can say I cancelled the trip this week because of my fibroids, but next week I went.  As much as Bethenny wants us to believe she has the worst case ever, it sure didn't cramp her bikini wearing.

She cancelled the trip a month and a half before she actually did go by herself and it was most probably after she went for the second opinion and decided to do the meds instead of surgery.

Usually the trips are brought up an episode or two before they go.  At least that's how it always it appears to me. 

I thought Beth brought up going to Tequila when she announced the trip at that dinner.  I'll have to see if I still have it on my DVR.  Two of Beam's tequilas are made in Tequila, Mexico.  She did say it was a business trip.  I don't think she would be pairing up with a non Beam tequila for promotion.

No they are going to the Mohegan Sun but a lot of the posts in this thread keep mentioning Foxwoods.

My point once again, is I do not believe the trip was scheduled for the third week in January-it could have been but I don't think it was that immediate.  According to Carole,  Bethenny had been hemorrhaging for over three weeks, and Bethenny claims every Jewish OB on the UES had examined her vagina.  Maybe they will reveal at the Reunion when exactly the trip was set for.  It just seemed to me the trip was running out of steam because of an ill advised hate on Luann and Sonja fest.  Luann had some cocktail party squeezed in the mix but I just think the trip was cancelled because Luann's engagement took center stage.  I believe they also said something about a trip to Hawaii. That was also cancelled-don't know why.

Watching this season, the whole show has lost its organic feel.  Everyone seems like the charcters of a sitcom show that was once wildly funny and is now so stale that the characters amp it up more and it feels force.

I loved the vibe at the beginning of the episode with Luann ditching the nastiness and Dorinda coming in like the Godmother.

I like that Ramona has now made apology texts her brand. I fully expect an advice book from her soon full of screengrabs of text conversations.

LOL. OK, Ramona is horrible at arguing but her just blatant denial of facts was kind of hilarious this episode. I don't know why. And now she's lecturing Luann about how she's "in lust." I can't. At least she didn't say "in heat." Why is she peddling advice? It's not like she did such a great job picking Mario. OK, you know what, I think part of it is definitely that there were just having this conversation on the sidewalk. They weren't even sitting on a bench.
