That's one very good reason not to expose your children to the world every waking second.  Probably some creepy people involved with or following some of those accounts.  The Jones family from "Quints by Surprise" are a juxtaposition to the Busby family.  They did a couple of seasons that didn't include personal potty training details or allowing their kids to scream, cry, and fight until school age, and have since given occasional updates on social media.  Of course, the Jones dad did the hard work to be able to earn enough of a living that they don't need to sell their children's privacy.

I sometime peek at the Jones' site as a reminder  , while I miss them, it is best and good to come off of the air. The Jones was on before Twitter and Instagram became as heavy as they are now. The actually had (have) a website and a FB page (side note: looks like the quints just promoted from elementary school) .

I like how the Jones kept their oldest in activities. D&A act like putting Blayke in something means another situation that the quints are a part of.

I wonder how long Sweet Home Alabama Sextuplets will stay on the air. That dad too has a hard working outside job. And the mom does have a career to go back to, as well..

I had kinda hoped another set of US quints would be born sooner than now , so that maybe the Busby's will have a little competition and therefore will be replaced. After all the girls are 5, and they had  their turn on TLC.  And they are re-running events - just how many years do we really need to see the Easter bunny and the mega birthday weekend?

One comedian said a possible side of effect of quarantine  could be plenty of babies in 9-10 months - people had little else to do but "____ " all day.. Was fertility specialists part of the essential business lists that could stay open ? So maybe late in 2021 - the Busby's will have competition.

20 Instagram accounts? I only see the main one (itsabuzzworld) and then individual accounts for Adam and Danielle. There are a lot of fan-run accounts, some focused on the individual girls, which I sure wouldn't like if they were my daughters. But I don't think the family has anything to do with those accounts.

I stand corrected then it’s obviously weird and confusing but they do have several, their main one, then Danielle has one, Adam has one, Graeson has one and there was another one something like Buzzworlshops and cadifitness.....maybe not the twenty but more than one.  They are definitely exploiting their kids imho.

Glad this point was brought up... anyone catch what was Blayke (love the sparkly nail polish) was trying to do with the boxes?  Asking for a friend who loves math.

 Here is the original problem:

image.png.42946ed177f6953b6d5ff3fcdf932b44.png

Basically it is splitting the number into place value, so on the top 34    is 30+4    and the side is 8.      So one box would be 30X8   and the other box would be 8X4 and you then add the two numbers together.

I actually still like this show, think these little girls are adorable (and a handful to be sure), most of the time like Danielle, some of the time like Adam, and like how the entire family pitches in to help out.  Otherwise I would not watch the show.  I figure for the most part people are doing the best they can with the situation they have been handed.

I know every family and each person within the family is different. And some families practice the custom that the families are marrying , as opposed marrying just the person.

My siblings would say something real quick, if I borrowed their spouse to go grocery shopping.  And by Danielle's comment - the grocery trips with Dale to the store are a routine event - ie pre-covid.

I'm not so sure.  She said that she and Dale were the main grocery shoppers for their families, but I doubt shopping together was a regular thing.  I think the concerns about panic buying, shortages, etc. is what caused them to go together.  (Not to mention that the shopping trip was being filmed.)

My Grandmother is ready to make a roadtrip to the Houston area and start whippin some asses that need  a good whippin. Not looking to hurt anyone but as she was saying, These girls are totally out of control. The back talking, Crying immediately when they dont get the answer they like, and Parker hanging on Adam all day and night is out of control. She said every one of those spoiled brats would have been popped in the mouth before she finished their backtalking.

And they really need to do something about Hazels Lack of Intelligence after her eyes are fixed. You can already see that she is looking and walking at an angle. If they dont fix that ASAP Hazel is going to be teased and mocked with her walking sideways like a crab, plus her hideous looking glasses her mom picks out for her and her red hair. Thats like the Trifecta of teasing. Trust me I know from my cousin who had 2 of those 3 issues. She didnt walk like a crab, but she had a weird squint going on that they made fun of to no end. Kids are MEAN!!! and these days meaner than theyve ever been with social media. They really need to fix these issues before she is assigned to the Short Bus for the rest of her life. When Adam tells Hazel to wash her hand for 20 seconds and a 5 year old doesnt know the difference between 20 minutes and 20 seconds. Totally pathetic. They ought to be ashamed that after 5 years she is that undeucated. She should easily know the difference between 20 seconds and minutes by age 3. I just quizzed my nephew who just turned 3 two months ago and he was all over seconds and minutes. He knew that 180 seconds is 3 minutes, 15 min. is a quarter hour.

They need to get Hazel with a tutor before she falls too far behid.

WHat is wrong with these 5 girls that they are still terrified when they see the Easter Bunny. When I saw Parker clinging to her dads waist looking like she was going to die she was so scared and her sisters didnt look much better. Parkers clinging to her dad for 5 years now tells me that she has some serious issues going on. Her poor boyfriends and Husbands to come should be given a copy of this show from Season 1 til now just so they have an idea where it all started. Parker is the only one of the 5 girls who just clings to her father like velcro. Shes in for some serious man issues. They should just do a prepay plan for a team of therapists for Hazel and Parker. There is obvious trouble in their future if they dont get help with their issues. I t is just so obvious that they need to do something before they are bailing one of them out of some crappy Texas jail. Paarker scares me and I have 200 pounds and 50 years on her, but I grew up around girls just like her and all Ill say is Not Good. And Hazel really just needs her eyes fixed which will in turn fix her neck before its too far gone and she will go on to live a nice Texas Waffle House life with Graham after they get married their junior year of HS.  If Danielle was over those girls when they filmed the last episode on their equipment probably over 2 Months ago , Is anybody sure that Adam and the kids are all still alive and well. : ) Just Kidding

We all know Adam would be more likely to lose it. Just kidding. I know they are doing their best day to day but where they screwed up is when they decided to keep all of the girls and not give up Parker and Hazel to 2 loving families who would treat them well and get Parker the Psych help she needs and the other family could invest in a World Class eye Doctor for Hazel.

Start with Adam and Danielle.

My understanding is that Hazel's eye issue can't really be fixed.  They can make  it better, but it's mainly to keep her from turning her head so much and hurting her neck.  And those glasses are pretty typical for little kids because they're indestructible.  She'll probably get some that are a little more fashionable soon.

Parker couldn't have been clinging to Adam's waist when the Easter Bunny was in the room because Adam WAS the Easter Bunny.  The girls wore multiple outfits over this episode because it covered a lot of time.  Kids change clothes - sometimes more than once a day.  4-5 year olds also do not always have a good sense of time - and I'm not too sure that Hazel wasn't teasing anyway.  Speaking of Hazel, Danielle and Adam have been nauseatingly proactive about Hazel's issues with her eyes - but since elective surgeries in Texas have been shut down for most of the past 3 months (and have been shut down once again), Hazel's next eye procedure has been delayed unless she was lucky enough to get in to see her eye specialist in the short period where elective surgeries were allowed.

I would rather see a tired, frustrated mom who loves her children but needs to be able to hide away for just a few minutes more than seeing freaking Mary Poppins dancing around spreading unicorns and rainbows and glitter dust (which is a beast to clean up) because that is reality.  I think that is what it has been like for most parents during this time.  I doubt most people were prepared to be closeted together 24/7 with their families (I know I wasn't and my daughter is 23 - but I happily went back to work the minute my office opened up), not to mention having to become a full-time teacher.  Yes they have a generous sized home, but I think even a castle can start to feel pretty small when you have 6 children stuck inside!

22 minutes in... Danielle - ".. you want to give your kids the world, and right now we can give them a cupcake."...

That comment didn't sit well with me... sorry

Maybe this quarantine will teach D&A to keep things in a perspective - both in dollars and expectations . Not every birthday, every event needs to be a mega-deep extended family affair. Danielle even had a whine how she ordered a bunch of stuff and it didn't come in time for the actual date on the calendar. Hell - play with it if/when it does come in..

I was glad Adam said we put the cameras down, spent time as a family/household and watched movies with the girls. I'm missing why that is a bad thing - focus on what is important.

I was pleased to see Adam and Danielle doing things with their kids and not just plopping them in front of a screen.  The field day (or whatever they called it) looked like fun.  I also liked when Adam said he hoped the kids would look back on this time with good memories.  They are lucky to have a pretty large home, a big yard and a pool.  Yes, they have it easier than many others, but having to keep five 5 year olds (plus a 9 year old) involved and happy 24 hours a day for months on end would definitely be a challenge.

I think that it is part of Danielle's Cajun family culture that birthdays are huge events to be celebrated by as large a gathering as possible.  I don't know about the rest of you but I find myself so frustrated because of things that I haven't been able to do this year...I want to go to the beach...I want to tube the Guadalupe...I know why I can't do them, I know that I'm being unreasonable, but I'm still unhappy about it!  It does look like the Busbys have sheltered in place and for that i commend them...many didn't.  Which is one of the reasons why we are still having to quarantine in Texas.

I think Adam said it best at the end - he wants to look at the quarantine as a positive thing where they did things together as a family. an immediate family.   I hope Adam can continue to find that voice when quarantine is over.  Develop family memories with just those in the household. I think Adam has mentioned being overloaded with extended family before.

We all have missed running to/from a boatload of events - but in the end, I too can't say quarantine was a negative affair. Every day I wake up ( and let's remember those 127,000+ of those who passed in the US), I am very thankful/grateful of the good little and big memories, new memories, that have been made during quarantine.

I think D&A also really fully realized that they have six individual different personality children that they have to raise - 100% of the time. I don't think that set in before - because they always had help of some kind - from day 1. especially from extended family. And Danielle speaks about the kids as quints plus 1.  Remember the poor sister who left her bed (and her husband and children) to drive in the middle of the night for infant feedings?

I just loved this episode, because I could relate so much to what they were going through.  I only have 2 kids.  They are both older than the Busby girls, and I feel like I'm losing my mind 🙂

I thought it was sweet!  She knew they weren't getting the birthday they were used to, and it made her sad.  I know it's been hard for me to know that my kids aren't getting to do most of the things they usually get to do during the summer.  It's hard on all of us!

The previews led us to believe that the ice cream and cupcake were the entire birthday celebration.  It was good to hear Adam say something about celebrating.  I don't remember anyone saying that was a bad thing?  Maybe I missed it.

This was the first episode that I haven't hated the Busby's in a while. I get a vibe like the Gosselin's when Jon and Kate were on that some type of story line is pitched and that's the kind of thing they do. But this time I saw a family just being a family and living life during a national pandemic. The kids weren't super whiny and actually had some cute moments. Hazel's eyes weren't mentioned once and I didn't have to hear about Parker's anxiety!

  • Love 3

Being shy and having anxiety issues myself, I think they're doing the best they can with Parker. And I don't know if this applies to Hazel, but premature children may have learning issues. She was a preemie and the smallest one.

Yes, child birthday parties in the South can be insane. A family member had one for a one year old, and there were around 20 people there. One's friend's husband has heart issues, and a friend had been around with someone with the coronavirus. We didn't go.

  • Love 5

I don't exactly remember, but I think when they did testing at their preschool Hazel was not the lowest testing of the bunch - for some reason I think it was Lulu or Ava (I could be wrong on this), and none of them tested significantly at below level learning.  She may be most emotionally immature but I suspect she has been babied a bit more because she has had so many issues with her vision and also because she is one of the smaller quints (I think Riley may be the smallest which is kind of ironic because she is definitely the most advanced academically)

I don’t get why parents today feel like they have to entertain their kids every minute of the day. Kids need to learn how to entertain themselves. My parents NEVER played with me. If I said I was bored they made a few suggestions and then kicked me outside. My grandpa used to tell us “Sit on the floor and let your feet hang.” The Busbys have a pool, a yard, a TV, books, and so many toys. And each other. So I don’t have too much sympathy at the moment.

I agree.   They have a huge house, actually I would call it a mansion, the giant pool, the swings and other activity play ground, and live on a beautiful, safely fenced over an acre property.     You can't tell me they don't have all kinds of games, and toys, and other stuff for the kids.    They could also have reading time for the younger ones, scheduled work and school times, and keep them up where they need to be academically.

I don't think I can watch this show any longer.   There are people with real problems, and the issues of spoiled rich people who are pimping their kids out for sponsor dollars just don't interest me now.

Yet there whine was for the obstacle course of field day games that didn't come in the mail on time.... and how many UPS, USPS, Amazon, Fed Ex workers were just trying to get PPE to various hospitals... I mean the Patriots sent a plane overseas to get PPE.. later (which was around Easter time) semi trucks were crossing the country just to get food to those in need... and yet we hear about the add-on toys that didn't deliver as quick as expected...

Each season Danielle always did something for/with the NICU.. did she spend time outside ( 6 ft away from others) of the hospital with those parents who might not was able to get INTO the hospital to see their baby ?

I understand what you guys are saying, but those are not quite age appropriate expectations.  We're talking about 5 year olds here, not 10 year olds.  Sure, 10 year olds can be expected to find things to do (Blayke is certaining capable of entertaining herself), but most kids that are younger are not really able to do that yet.

Ask any parent.  The early years and preschool years require lots of hands on parenting.  As your child enters kindergarten, they gradually require less of your time.  Until the teenage years!

I am a parent to 4,  all grown up now, and  I didn't have this problem of getting them to do an activity for an hour, without me standing over them.  I guess that doesn't make good tv.  To each his own.

Did you really have all 4 kids under the age of 6 and working on an activity for an hour?  That's a really long attention span for 5 year olds.

To be fair, I don't think the parents have to entertain all the time, but with 5 - 5 year olds, it's not realistic to think they can just entertain themselves all day.  And it's definitely not realistic to think that if you leave them to their own devices for too long, they won't get into tons of trouble.

I agree that it is more interesting to watch the girls participating in a somewhat organized activity than to just read a book, so that's what is going to be recorded.  Still, this is a very hands-on age for most parents.  If you were truly able to have 4 kids under the age of 6 occupy themselves for more than an hours, well, you are one of the lucky ones.

I did not.  I actually had 3 spaced a couple years apart and the 4th joined us later due to circumstances.  But as I said my Mom had 5, a year apart, and the 6th 2 yrs later, with my Dad away.  He wasn't even there for all of our births.  I can remember playing together while my Mom did work in the house.  Agree you couldn't trust them all day but certainly a couple hours to do art work or play board games.  I am sure they do it all the time but the producers find it boring.  In general you can tell they aren't as wild as depicted by Adam's homemade videos.

With the understanding that disruptions to one's schedule and social life are always hard, the Busbys seem to be in the best possible position for getting through a lockdown. The kids have a crew of age-mates to play with, tons of outdoor space to run around in, a pool and hot tub, a playground, warm weather, the parents don't have 9-5 jobs that demand their nonstop attention...it's a good situation.

I'm all about unstructured outdoor time for kids, but I wonder what role the pool plays here. You can't let 5-year-olds run around near a pool without close supervision. Do the Busbys have a 100% foolproof fence and lock on the pool area?

From the views we've seen, it doesn't look like it. TX doesn't have the fencing laws that other states have. Thus, FL and TX have the highest rates of childhood drownings in the country.

That's what scares me about their pool- the chance of God forbid an accident. They had a video of them on a boat ride yesterday. None of them had any life vests on. Riley was even helping the captain drive the boat. Someone asked on Instagram where their life vests were and Adam answered "under the seats where they should be".

I watch Lone Star Law, and kids under a certain age have to have life vests on at all times, unless the boat is anchored.    When someone from the state police, or warden's office (they're actually both part of the state police), sees this, the owner of the boat is going to be in serious trouble.   If someone sends that video to the police, the boat charter operator, and that captain will be receiving a huge fine.    If they hit a log or another boat, no one is going to be able to get life jackets on the girls in time.

When they first moved into the 'rental' house, Danielle claimed the pool fence was on order, but I don't think it locks.

They have at least one full time nanny, and I wouldn't be surprised if the nanny is live-in too.

They also had that trip to the water park (probably free, and sponsored by the water park), no masks, and right after lockdown was eased.

It's obvious to me that they care more about photo ops, publicity, and their monetizing their children than the safety of the children, or anyone else.

They have a FB post, with the quints riding trikes with training wheels, and there is a masked camera crew filming.   I guess we now know where the boat footage will be when the show comes back.    The Houston area is out of ICU beds, people have to sit in the ER and wait for a hospital bed, and these fools are running all over the place, filming, and taking all kinds of risks.

She said pool cover, not fence. I'd bet they are too lazy to put a cover on the pool every time it isn't in use.

I'm a boater and an avid proponent that life jackets for all passengers are more important than seat belts/car seats and bike helmets. A head injury on dry land totally sucks. However, a head injury in a boating accident will most likely be fatal without a life jacket. When you're knocked out, even just for a second, the only thing that is going to bring you back to the surface where you have a possibility of being rescued is a properly fitting life jacket.

That's what scares me about their pool- the chance of God forbid an accident. They had a video of them on a boat ride yesterday. None of them had any life vests on. Riley was even helping the captain drive the boat. Someone asked on Instagram where their life vests were and Adam answered "under the seats where they should be".

And...no social distancing or masks. It’s no wonder Texas is in the condition it currently is.

Let all 5 of the girls drown trying to save each other in some murky Texas lake and see what his attitude about lifevests is then. My neighbors 11 yr old son wouldnt wear a lifevest when boating with his friends. On his 3rd trip out with them he was thrown from the boat into a small tree on the shore which knocked him out and his "friends" were so busy laughing and cruising around that they took almost 10 minutes to get back to him. He died a week short of his 12th birthday. He was also a competetive swimmer who could swim in any kind of water. No matter how rough, but he didnt stand a chance once he was knocked out cold face down in the muddy water. Lifevests save Lives!!!!!
