And Joe keeps thinking the problem with the GOP is the packaging or the candidate and not the actual policy positions. It's bullshit denial on their part.

That said, I am glad they called out Hillary's BS blaming of Colin Powell for her email mess.

I agree with all of these. Why does Joe think you can be rude and disrespectful (let's not even say "racist") to whole groups of people (and continue stereotyping them as poor and uneducated even when you're trying to kiss up) for over a year, and then suddenly--based on your very glib pollster's advice--suddenly "remake" yourself into someone who's respectful and inclusive?  How is that even acceptable as an EFFORT? 

It's sad when they think there's some chance for Trump to pretend he's someone he's really not and still have time to fool us into believing him.

And ITA about Hillary and Powell. She continues to (1) have horrible instincts on this subject and (2) apparently also be getting terrible advice. Please stop making excuses, Hillary! Thanks!

And ITA about Joe and Donald. It's too funny.  If Trump becomes president, though, he'll be much too busy watching cable news shows and fighting Twitter wars with all of his critics to ever do any "president-stuff".  I hope someone asks him about it sometime, but since he's only appearing on FOX now, I guess that won't happen.

I think Joe found about Trump's tweet before 7:30 am. Mika started the fight with Trump by saying that he sounded drunk when giving his speech in Fredricksburg. Mika knows that Trump never touches alcohol & that his brother Fred died from alcoholism. That was a very cheap shot by Mika.

 

Trump retaliates by attacking Mika on twitter & then threatens to expose Mika & Joe's relationship. That is a low blow by Trump. Joe ends up by responding to Trump by bragging about his ratings & telling Trump to focus on swing states & stop gawker type accusations. Joe was careful not to deny being in a romantic relationship with Mika.

Joe looks like a fool by starting to make positive comments about Trump now, while Mika is being insulted.

 

To be fair, Trump said that Mika & Joe are both clowns, but he was harsher on Mika calling her erratic & insecure about being Joe's girlfriend.

What a mess!. I suspect Joe will come out attacking Trump tomorrow at 6 am. Mika may be "off"tomorrrow. I am sure her kids aren't happy about Trump attacking their mom.

During the most recent GOP primary, I think that Rand Paul was trying to do out some outreach with the African American community.

I am trying to recall which GOP President had the highest voter support among African Americans since the Civil Right Act ? Nixon 72? Reagan 80?

I guess he could have meant that by tweeting "his very insecure  long-time girl-friend..." although I thought he meant she was an insecure person. Tuesday recap. Mika is wearing her navy blue sleeveless dress. Joe in a navy blue sweater. Mika did not want address yesterdays tweets. Donnie wanted to talk about them. Joe bragged that he gained twitter followers.

 

The big topics were Hillary's emails from the Clinton Foundation. Joe said it was expensive to get access to Hillary & cost up to $32M. It's unclear whether US policy was changed . Mika said Hillary & Bill should have stepped down from the foundation when she was SOS.

Joe said Bill will step down if Hillary is elected. The donors only have 3 months left to mae donations to the Clinton foundation.

Eddie Glaude didn't believe Trump's outreach to African American voters. Joe said African Americans should have access to charter schools & improved living conditions. Eddie said it was difficult to discuss public policy towards AA by Democratic party leaders. Eddie said the GOP should discuss if their policies are helping poor whites in Western Pennsylvania.

Joe said that Trump should meet with the official representatives of the AA community like NAACP. He could get booed but at least he would speak to them.

Heilemann was back on the set. He wondered if any of Hillary's missing emails had to do with the Clinton Foundation. It would be bad news for Hillary if those emails were released. Heileman said that Hillary may have classified them as personal. Heileman was wearing one of Donny Deutshe's jackets.

Honestly?  I think Me-eka was spot on, and it wasn't a cheap shot at all...  I challenge you to go listen to that speech from Friday night and come away with a different impression.  His speech was slurred, he was yelling and shouting and sounded drunk,  elsewhere on the intertoobz I made the same observation.

I agree that the nastiest part of tRump's tweet was the long-time part.  He didn't out Joe and Me-eka - that's been in the ether for sure since Me-eka's divorce became public.  His characterization of Me-eka is just more of his in your face misogyny.

After seeing Professor Eddie this morning, I think Hillary should run around every predominately black community in the country with Reverend Al, Jesse Jackson, the mothers who spoke at the democratic convention (like Treyvon Martin's).

James Carville couldn't talk this morning.  I think he would be more effective if he would disqualify Trump and his supporters, by hammering away on Trump's taxes and shady business dealings which have to be as damaging to him as the republicans think Hillary's emails and the Clinton Foundation are to her.

Is it just me, or is Scarborough's ego so stroked that he cannot truly fathom he is in a social media slap fight with the Republican Candidate for President of the United States?  And not a Dynasty one either.  But one that is so pathetic it races past being funny and you just feel almost lessened by the smallness of those failing and never once making actual contact? 

Eugene Robinson needs to go a bit more Jonathan Capehart on Scarborough's ass.  Jonathan did a nice snap awhile back when Scaroborough and Barnicle tried to tell him how wrong he was when he explained his stance on where the Black Church core of many communities pushed against Gay Civil Rights.  Because what would an intelligent and eloquent young Black Gay man know about that compared to two intellectually dangling scrotums like Scarborough and Barnicle?

 

And since Scarborough seems to have a long history of loving to cheat on whichever woman he is, I wonder if the real secret is just when he and Mika were becoming public, Scarborough had already lined up another cheat like he did with the woman he cheated on his first wife with, and his second fiance and his second wife and the woman he apparently had in between?   True, the Spoiled Yam with that Moldy top is so out of touch he might think the Scarborough Mika workfest is not public knowledge.  But I'm wondering if there is more.

Please put a warning on your posts when you describe the GOP nominee as a "Spoiled Yam with a Moldy Top" :) I nearly spilled my wine laughing. I think the Mika-Joe saga is distracting from the show. Catching up with today's show. Donnie & Joe believe that Trump wants to start a PPV TV network after the election to compete with Fox. It will be called Trump TV & feature Ann Coulter. Apparently, Trump's goal is to create a TV network of supporters to compete with Fox News. Roger Ailes would help run it. Joe said it would be very profitable if Trump got 40 million votes.

 

I recall a few years ago that Joe was furious that Glenn Beck left Fox to start his own network & made millions. I suspect Joe wanted to do the same thing but no one would fund the iniative. Is Joe's plan to be the new Carville & Matalin?

Re: Carville, he amuses me too, but he always makes a point that others seem to miss. i.e. the Clinton FOUNDATION actually does shit. Unlike Trump steaks, or Trump wine, this isn't just a vanity project. That said, the Clintons need to step away until (please God) 2024.

His IFB was all kinds of messed up and there was background feedback to the show - you could here a whole other conversation going on.

Rachel covered the crazy tRump doctor last week - the membership to the AGC aspect anyways.  She didn't call the hospital about being on staff or having privileges though.

They seem to be doing everything they can to confirm the rumors, without actually confirming the rumors.

I would suspect part of it is the time of year.  The last two weeks of August are always a mix-and-match on most network and cable news, as hosts take long-planned end-of-summer vacations.  Also. doesn't Mika have teen daughters?  Could be part of getting the kids set up for fall semester, plus maybe some quality time with kids in the waning moments of summer, post-divorce.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but Mika is doing a credible job this morning -  so far, anyway.  She's so much more forceful and engaged when Joe isn't on set.  When he's around, all she does is giggle and make 'reaction faces' more suited to a sit-com.  To quote the tRump:  "Maybe she isn't allowed to say anything".   ~~~    They're interviewing Hillary next hour, so let's see how that turns out.  Is Joe in some undisclosed location prepping for that verbal throw down?  I can't imagine that he'd go missing for that golden opportunity.  Or was it pre-taped earlier and he's off licking his wounds?

Friday Recap. It's bash Trump day on Morning Mika. Joe is off the show. but Mika said he would show up for the Clinton interview. Mika & the panelists are badgering an African American Minister. They are very rude to him. The guy isn't ready for a cable tv gang up. Mika was practically crying over Trump's comments in the first half hour. I suppose Mika is still upset about Trump calling her erratic.  Al Sharpton is upset that Trump is complaining about crime in the inner cities. Sharpton said Trump didn't do much for diversity in his company. They showed a clip of the Trump ad when Hillary attacked Obama. Mika should calm down. Hopefully, Joe will sing her some songs after the show!. That Vanity Fair article was hilarious.

I don't need Mika to be the serious voice of the show.  She shouldn't shoehorn-in her personal emotions while speaking to the camera.  It's too forced and unnatural.  (But, at least she is speaking her mind.  Maybe I'm too hard on her??)

The Rev was good this morning.  He can be thoughtful and articulate at times.  Other times, notsomuch.
Barnicle should shave every morning.  Stubble makes him look seriously old - in a bad way.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Katrina Pierson is fucking CRAZY.  I marvel at her delusion.  I am enthusiastically interested in meeting her in her civilian life down-time (far from sharp objects, but near to vodka) to just listen to her for an hour or two.  My God, that would be entertaining.
I'm interested to observe the small talk between Clinton and Mika.  I wonder if Mrs Clinton knows who Mika is.
Mika is in a different dress for the Clinton interview, and her hair seems a little more done.

One of the more annoying trends that has emerged in this campaign is allowing candidates to call into shows. Trump started it and I wish more shows followed Chris Wallace's practice to not put up with that crap.

I wonder if that call was taped at another time, given the weirdness with Joe not being there and nobody else on the panel (other than Mika) being allowed to ask a question. 

I did love Joe mentioning that Hillary went to horrible racist Trump's wedding (I guess he wasn't such a horrible racist then?), but it didn't go anywhere (that's why these phone-ins suck). Also interesting how Hillary professed her admiration for George W. Bush.
