Bronzedog November 19, 2015 Share November 19, 2015 I was so happy about that..Did you guys notice the look that Michelle shot Whoopie, when Candace tried to bring in Abortion into the discussion...Candace is so stealth, she is trying to provoke some type of row and the ladies are not taking her bait..She tried it with Joy yesterday..Nice Try Candace! people like her scare me with their ideology... I noticed the look. Michelle also said something like, " I'm so not in the mood today." 6 Link to comment
Medicine Crow November 19, 2015 Share November 19, 2015 I thought it was a decent show today, mainly because The Whoopster wasn't flapping her lips in every segment. With the exception of her whining about somebody "taking" her taxes, which I don't understand, it wasn't too annoying. Just sayin'. Link to comment

(TM Cosmocrush) If he still watches this shit show; which I am sure that he does, he got a real nice money shot of what he is missing out on when CCB wore that purple lace top as a dress yesterday. Just think of all those one on one meetings he could have been having with her a la Bitsy. Poor guy. Probably left him extra sweaty. And as far as CCB goes, her Elisabeth 2.0 transformation is almost complete. Bleached blonde Barbie Hair: Check. Bleached teeth: Check. Body tanned with Fake Tanner Gun set to 10: Check. Skirts extra short & Heels extra high: Check. We just need to see her cry and crawl into somebody's lap; compare gay people to kitchen appliances and cry out "Where are the parents?!?" and we are pretty much there. 19 Link to comment
TheGreenKnight November 19, 2015 Share November 19, 2015 I notice they didn't come back with the topic about someone or other saying, "Everyone has a lesbian side." They must've cut it for Joy to apologize about the bulemics v. anorexics jokes they were making, because the second round of Hot Topics passed pretty fast. In a way I'm glad, because I was already rolling my eyes at what Candace's response would be. "NO, I do NOT!!" I'm glad they all shut Candace down re: the gun topic. There's no way you could possibly connect Planned Parenthood to terrorism. Yes, Late Night Joy was great. Don Lemon can sometimes get on my nerves, but he was great in a low-key setting. And he's very cute. 5 Link to comment

Dissy November 19, 2015 Share November 19, 2015 Tension was thick this morning. Whoopi's silence spoke volumes. She was pissed about something right from the start. It must have to do with Paula because there was a bit of ice there. At one point, Candace tried to bring Whoopi into the conversation. Usually they are trying to shut her up so they can talk. 2 Link to comment
rcc November 19, 2015 Share November 19, 2015 It seems as if CCB is being fed talking points ala Elisabeth. As Whoopi correctly pointed out, our military is fatigued from multiple deployments. I have two young nephews who are suffering from ptsd and tbi. I had a husband and two sons in gulf war until it waa discovered that the young one was surviving son and was sent home. So until she gets some skin in the game she should stfu. Good point. As someone with relatives that have been in the military I hate the war mongers always ready to send ground troops to every country in the world. Let them go or send their own family members. 10 Link to comment

bannana November 19, 2015 Share November 19, 2015 CCB is tightly wound, I think. She seems on the defensive, and while smiling, seems insincere. I don't think she likes her co-hosts at all, except maybe Paula. For some reason, Paula doesn't annoy me, but CCB does. CCB definitely doesn't like Joy or Michelle, but she too seems to defer to Whoopi. Joy seemed pretty annoyed today for various reasons, so I agree, something was up. Probably CCB in the pre-meeting said she was going bring up PP and they told her not to, because they jumped on it very quickly when she did. Whoopi's face belied something before she even said the words PP, and CCB said to Whoopi hold on, and she carried on, while Whoopi had her most serious WTF face on. And yes, Michelle said something like, I am not in the mood as she dismissed CCB's PP "gateway" discussion. CCB also did that smug laugh, and said I hate to bring this up, when she brought up PP. Frankly I had no idea what she was actually talking about, but the dynamic between the three of them was entertaining and telling. I wish CCB had been part of the racism on university campus segment, because I am sure she would have said something snarkworthy. My unpopular opinion: I actually am starting to like Michelle. 9 Link to comment
Cosmocrush November 19, 2015 Share November 19, 2015 (edited) Anyone know what Whoopie was talking about when she was ranting about her pension disappearing? I think something happened before they went in the air. There seemed to be more tension than usual and I thought Paula looked close to tears in the first segment. Just a guess, but I wonder if she was talking about her union (SAG) pension, which by the way is NOT the same thing as the public pension firefighters and police officers earn. I was kind of "How dare she!" put herself in that category but then, it's Whoopi, Queen of The View so.... Anyway, there were some headlines last summer about the embezzlement of millions from the three billion dollar SAG-AFTRA pension fund. But that's not new and I don't think it's why Whoopi was acting like her bong broke this morning. And itt's hardly like Whoopi is going to end up penniless. The woman is part of the one percent. She should save her outrage for her fellow actors who would be hurt by this or for the firefighters and teachers and police in cities where they want to bust the public employee unions. Here's the story: Kickbacks And Roses: Inside The SAG Pension & Health Funds Scandal ETA: Or maybe her business manager ran off with her money and she just found out today? LOL, I don't know and honestly, I don't care. Edited November 19, 2015 by Cosmocrush 5 Link to comment
Former Nun November 19, 2015 Share November 19, 2015 She seems on the defensive, and while smiling, seems insincere. She does a bit better job (because she's SO demure) than Sherri. Remember that fake-pasted-on smile when she heard things she didn't like? Did Michelle cast a quick glace at CCB and say, "I'm so over it." ?? “I believe the number was in the $500,000 range,” Dow answered. Dow said it had been difficult to determine exactly how much money was missing, but testified it could have been as much as $3 million. The Plans have received more than $2.5 million from its insurers to recoup part of the loss. This is a quote from the link CosmoCrush provided above. So...if the trust lost $500k and they have "three billion," it's unlikely that Whoopi's account was hit at all. 2 Link to comment

kaygeeret November 20, 2015 Share November 20, 2015 They say that they are pro-life, how about they help improve the lives of so many children in need in this country and around the world.. The above is a quote - something went wrong. At any rate, the so called 'pro-lifers' believe in life from contraception to birth.....after that...doesn't matter what happens to the 'life'. Make sure to cut education funds, pre-school funds, day care funds, food stamps...anything that will help get a little life on track. By the way, I certainly understand middle class and rich women have abortions all the time. The difference, in my opinion, is that the rich and middle class can afford to go wherever to get what they want and their living children don't suffer material or educational deprivation. Thanks to the person who said that all war mongers need to have relatives in the fight. We need to reinstitute the universal draft - no college exemptions please. This needs to be a shared sacrifice across the board. Oh and as soon as war is declared, we need a war tax imposed so war debt cannot be used to weep and wail about the budget shortfalls amid threats to eliminate/cut Social Security and Medicare. Social Sec shouldn't even be on the table as it is a tax on wage earners and not every American qualifies for payment. 6 Link to comment

It annoys me that CCB looks to Paula for backup. Like today when they were talking about spouse's having a "hall pass," CCB was just looking at Paula like, "Ugh, these heathens." Can CCB not take a joke? Clearly, Joy was kidding when she said she'd allow Steve the hall pass. Honestly, I don't know how CCB has made it thus far in Hollywood. I don't think she likes her co-hosts at all, except maybe Paula. I am not a fan of CCB, yet I am going to cut her some slack. She has appeared at the table only a dozen or so times this season. She hasn't been able to bond with the others due to her Full House tapings. The other cast members don't help the matter by treating her as a guest host, feeling the need to introduce her as if we havent just seen her in the opening credits. She has zero experience hosting a talk show and parachutes into NYC every few weeks for a weeklong stint. As soon as that week is over, she jets back to the west coast to be forgotten. The only way a rookie improves is with practice, practice, practice. Especially with the mechanics of a talk show, understanding how to stay on topic and discuss effectively. She's been in the TV industry all her life, but as the talent who merely read the words written for her. If she brings that persona to The View, she won't succeed. Plop her behind the table for 6-7 consecutive weeks and we will see if she is merely Elisabeth 2.0. Edited November 20, 2015 by SanDiegoInExile 4 Link to comment
SanDiegoInExile November 20, 2015 Share November 20, 2015 Where was Raven today? One of the strategies behind having 6 FT hosts (and 5 supplemental guest hosts) was that each could be away for extended times and we wouldn't face a revolving door of (unfamiliar?) guest hosts. Raven has appeared on nearly every episode this season. We know that the non-host "contributors" appear to have 50-episode contracts. I suspect all of the cast have contracts that provide for them to be gone regularly. We already theorized that Whoopi is AWOL on Fridays (except sweeps) and that CCB will be AWOL mostly until 2016 arrives. It will be interesting to see who gets furloughed when CCB begins co-hosting daily in 2016. 2 Link to comment

geekburger November 20, 2015 Share November 20, 2015 All in all this has been a solid week of shows. Personally I prefer when Michelle & Raven aren't on the show together. They sort of feed off each other in this odd, frentic way that has a habit of derailing an already short discussion on things. Separately they bring in a nice perspective. As for CCB I don't think she's as easily grouped into the Elisabeth "role" as it may seem. She truly seems to speak from the heart while Elisabeth seemed a bit more calculated. 7 Link to comment

I was disappointed with the show and wanted her take on what brought her to weekly TV... Really, I don't think we missed much by SS not being there today - fluff at best. She was on Colbert"s Late Show this week, and didn't have much to say there, and would have had less of an opportunity to speak on our favorite show to hate. 3 Link to comment
