B&B: What's Up Today at Forrester Creations? - Daily Chat

Ugh, Cliffhanger Thursday. John McCook looked like he was gonna pass out the entire episode. And the gold tie made him look very yellow. Oh God, I can't do this.

Ok my friends, just start lining up with your rotten tomatoes because I wasn't the least bit squicked out with Caroline's dream. I thought it was smokey, and just a little bit naughty.
if I had that voice in my ear and those hands on mine all day, I'd be having far naughtier daydreams than hers.

Join me in the corner, RuntheTable & KerleyQ. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love this Forrester Creations storyline. If it takes a bit of inappropriate lip locking to keep it coming, so be it. Anything other than Hope/Liam/Wyatt zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Le sighhhhh...evidently, Katie has either morphed into Stephanie or she has the Crib Notes to Stephanie's diary which decreed: "Thou shalt not hold Ridge responsible for anything.  So let it be written!  So let it be done!"

*THUNDER AND LIGHTNING AND MANIACAL LAUGHTER*

Then a despondent Katie can end up whining to Liam, leading to a drunken hook up.  Please, show?

Sigh, on top of everything else that's sickening to me about Ridge and Caroline, now the show has put the thought in my head that whenever Ridge is all up in her personal space and putting his big meaty paw on her hand, she's all but swooning and getting, um, moist. KMN.

They keep mentioning that Ridge technically isn't a Forrester. Were Eric and Stephanie married when Ridge was born? If so, then is Ridge legally Eric's son despite their lack of common DNA? It looks like Rick's status as Eric's biological son is going to be a factor in who ultimately gets the CEO chair after Eric leaves. (That is, unless the writers pull another fast one and Eric ends up staying after all.)

Then a despondent Katie can end up whining to Liam, leading to a drunken hook up.  Please, show?

Well, if Liam isn't going to have a drunken hook up with Quinn then this would be the next best thing, IMO. He needs a grown woman to put him through his paces.

He has way more chemistry with Quinn and Katie than any of Hope, Steffy, or Ivy.  My first choice would be Quinn, too, but, sadly, the show doesn't seem to want to capitalize on that vibe they're putting out that is just screaming for some HateSex.

  • Love 3

My brain is in overdrive; there was so much going on in those final scenes yesterday. Ridge, actually owning up and admitting that he was wrong to ask Caroline to lie to Rick. Caroline voicing her inappropriate feelings (daydreams) to Ridge. Rick pulling the Marone card, and his over the top hardassedness about Ridge being a liability to FC's, and more importantly, Eric standing by and saying nothing. Eric expressing displeasure and disappointment with Ridge, and Ridge's chastened, "I done something bad" schoolboy reaction. In the entire history of the show, I think I could count on one hand the number of times Eric has ever been unhappy, or expressed any type of disappointment with Ridge, and Eric's simple statement "You didn't come to me" brought me to my knees. The look in his eye's, the sound of his voice. Just wow.

I can unabashedly say they have my interest now; I sensed new dynamics yesterday that indicated we may be going to focus on business and FC's more, and love triangles less. That may be wishful thinking, but a fan can hope right?

His hand porn

she's all but swooning and getting, um, moist.

I am now having visions........

I really, really hope that the show surprises us and Bill steps away saying "thanks, but I'll pass."

I would love that, and I would love Bill for doing it.

Preach that! B&B can't see the forest for the trees; they want to devote all their SLs to triangles, and they have so much hotness just waiting to be had.

Eric certainly stole the show yesterday. With everything that went on, his words to Ridge were the most dynamic part of the episode. I'd like to see Eric confiding in someone how hurt he is by Ridge and talking over what he plans to do. I hope Ridge takes to heart just how much he hurt his father. And Rick is just such a tool. When is he ever going to learn something, anything, and be a better person? Probably never. Eric needs to teach them both a lesson here.

From the show's inception, Eric and Ridge clashed about their differing philosophies for Forrester Creations, including the type of clothing that would appeal to women.  I've always marveled that people who have been disloyal to Forrester Creations (including stealing designs and taking them to a rival fashion house) are even allowed to work there again.  I remember Ridge grousing to the original Caroline that he was growing impatient at the thought of waiting 25 years for Eric to retire so that he could step in as CEO.  He made it clear that he saw Forrester Creations as his inheritance.  Now, if one wanted to get technical about first-born children, I would guess that Forrester Creations is Thorne's inheritance.  Yet, I can't see Eric being that petty since Ridge is his son in every way that matters.  Even though marriage to Stephanie was not something Eric really wanted, he made it clear that he loved Ridge before he was even born.

I would love it if Eric taught both Ridge and Rick a lesson by remembering that Forrester Creations was at its most profitable when Brooke was at the helm and then proceed to govern himself accordingly.  Plus, she's always been loyal to the business which is more than I can say about some of Eric's children.

  • Love 3

I literally recoiled when Ridge kissed Caroline.  I didn't care about the fantasy sequence, but this was too much.

So, evidently, "pomes" in the park and complaining about Brooke during coitus with Katie no longer float Ridge's boat.  He needs an extra thrill to keep his "really, really cool" fiancee on pins and needles and second-guessing their so-called relationship.

It's only a matter of time before HT starts chewing the scenery as Katie shrieks to Caroline 2.0:  "Take him!  He's YOURS, Caroline!  HE'S YOURS!!  You can make him happier than I ever could!  You win--but then again--you ALWAYS do!"  Then she'll yank that smelly ribbon off her finger and go stomping off only to have yet another heart attack and end up in the hospital.  It remains to be seen though if nu-Ridge shows up at the ICU with an actual engagement ring and promises of undying fidelity, or if seeing Will--and Bill--again will make the difference in her recovery.

As an added bonus, we'll get to see Ridge and Caroline in the hallway agonizing about their relationship and saying "goodbye" to each other while Rick wears the horns of a cuckold.  Oh--and this will all be Brooke's fault!

Anything other than Hope/Liam/Wyatt zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Shhh It's been a week maybe the writers have forgotten them.

Something must be wrong with me, I actually enjoyed Bill and Katie today.

Eric had the best line of the week when he said  "My office.....which I share with everyone else in the building."

In the scene with Carter, Ivy, and Maya. Carter appeared to have the largest breasts.

I was ok with Eric's list of most important people at Forrester creations until he added and Hope to the end.(The less said about Thorne the better I guess)

I want Eric to make Maya the CEO.

All in all it was a nice triangle free week.

I forgot about that line, it WAS really funny!  I've been enjoying the break from Liam-Wyatt-Hope...but sorry Gudzilla , I think the writers will be sure to have them make an appearance ASAP!

I am puzzled at Eric's repeated mentions of Rick's marriage to Caroline as if it were some legit qualification for the CEO position. I mean, I get that he thinks marriage has mellowed and matured Rick, but he harped on it too much for my liking, and I don't think it should even register as a reason to give Rick the job.

Maya and Ridge are crafty little manipulators. I kinda enjoyed it.

Bill was killing it today. "If I was engaged to Ridge..." That was hilarious, and I am sure there is already a disturbing and relevant fanfic out there somewhere. No, do not point me to it. I like Bill when he's serving up the truth, though he can lay off noticing his niece's hotness.

I don't know what to make of that kiss. It was more interesting than anything happening with Hope/Liam/Wyatt, but I admit that is a low bar.

  • Love 1

My favourite parts of this episode:

  1. Eric;
  2. Patrick Mulcahey being the scriptwriter;
  3. Bill & Katie arguing about Jackie Robinson;
  4. Bill & Katie arguing generally;
  5. Eric skulking in Rick's office;
  6. Shirtless Carter - HOLLA!;
  7. JMC scratching something off his reading glasses, even though it annoys me greatly whenever he just clutches them instead of putting them in a case or making some sort of an effort to protect them, like, no wonder they get dirty if you're constantly handling them! But anyway, pet peeve;
  8. JMC pronouncing Bali with a short A;
  9. Eric's aforementioned line about his time-share office;
  10. Eric & Ivy's conversation overall. Probably for obvious reasons.

Although I was very miffed at Rick when he said to Eric that "I don't see you stepping down as an opportunity, I see it as a loss", and then five minutes later he said to Maya that there was an "opportunity" at the top. Way to stab your Dad in the back!

And Ridge having a "crush" on Caroline? No thanks. I know I said in my last post here that if it takes inappropriate lip locking to keep this storyline going, so be it, but I didn't actually mean it.

And aren't Brooke and Ridge co-something or the others? Well, Eric is not thinking of Brooke, sadly. Only Thorne, Felicia, Ridge and Rick. Go figure.

Eric should've had a line going something like, "Brooke's sorting shit out in Milan so she's not in the running right now" to sustain continuity. Had Brooke stayed in town, I imagine he would've just promoted her and Ridge as Co-CEOs given that he ships them and they have more combined experience than Rick & Caroline. But where's the drama in that?

I was ok with Eric's list of most important people at Forrester creations until he added and Hope to the end.

To be fair, he did say the "current success" of the company, which includes HFTF whether we like it or not.

I am puzzled at Eric's repeated mentions of Rick's marriage to Caroline as if it were some legit qualification for the CEO position.

He sees Rick & Caroline as a "power couple" like he and Stephanie were (completely ignoring the fact that they spent more years apart from each other than they did together), and he is probably predicting that they will have the same success as a business partnership that they did. Eric's argument is that no one person can do this on their own, that they need support, someone to balance them out. But yeah, you can't really list "stable and happy marriage" on a job ad as a criterion for selection.

I did think Ridge had a good line to Caroline about "What do you want - to thrive as a designer or to be an ornamental wife?" (paraphrasing), given that his mother was the epitome of the trophy wife while her husband worked long hours putting caviar on the table.

Shhh It's been a week maybe the writers have forgotten them.

Sorry sorry sorry! When this comes back to bite us in the ass, you can all blame me.

Maya and Ridge are crafty little manipulators. I kinda enjoyed it.

I'd like the writers to give us one little scene where as Maya and Ridge are passing each other in the hall, she gives him a little nod and says, "Game recognize game, Ridge. Game recognize game."

I get that he thinks marriage has mellowed and matured Rick, but he harped on it too much for my liking, and I don't think it should even register as a reason to give Rick the job.

Better not let Katie found out that being a married man is part of Eric's flimsy criteria. She'll start insisting that Ridge must marry her RIGHT NOW! Wonder what they'll use for wedding bands...scrunchies?

  • Love 5

Yeah, so what was all that Marone baloney? Is Mas coming back? Does Mas know his son got dumped out of a helicopter and can't draw? Unless Sheila and their SORAS'd child come back I have no use for Mas. Even though Stinkbomb doesn't look like it he is a Forrester. Drop this Marone baloney.

Joseph Macolo (sic?) is happily employed on Days of our Lives through the foreseeable future, so I doubt it's that.

It's just more of the tiresome Forrester versus Logan crap, except Rick is a blood Forrester and Ridge is a Forrester in every way that matters.

When did the hate between them begin? Ridge raised him like a son for most of his life, then the KL recast was all Paul Ryan for Ridge. There is certainly a story for that between Ridge's continual shitty treatment of Brooke and now Katie and Rick's involvement in Phoebe's death but like most things on this show, continuity means nothing unless it's about slut shaming Brooke. I'm surprised TIIC still remember Katie has a heart transplant a whole seven years after it happened.

I'd imagine it'd be those ponytail holders from the 70's, the ones with the big marble like beads on the ends.

For some reason, I always become distracted by the oddity of the whole tables mixed in among the exercise equipment set up they have going on there.  If I'm sitting down trying to have a snack/lunch, or hold a quick meeting, I don't want someone working out on a weight machine right next to my table.  It's just weird.

On a shallow note, I find myself wanting to take Caroline out for a hair cut.  I feel like it would have so much life (and look young and fresh) if she'd get a couple inches off.  While I'm at it, I'll bring Rick along for a shave.  He looks OK with a little stubble, but he's verging into actual beard territory if he doesn't nip it in the bud now, and he does not have a beard face.

  • Love 2

I think that the mutual distaste for each other began when Rick had the "gall" to try to create a line with Amber as the designer, but Rick has hated Ridge longer than he hasn't. That started when Ridge left Brooke to be with Taylor and Thomas. Ridge had very little involvement with raising Rick or Bridget.

Twenty bucks says Bill is the one to blow Ridge's scheme sky high since a

he's supposed to realize that Caroline is hiding something next week and Caroline will probably spill the beans about kissing Ridge.

Then Katie will tear the red ribbon off and shove it down Ridge's throat and make a beeline for Bill.

Do you by any chance watch The Young and the Restless?  If you don't (and for others who don't), their restaurant everybody goes to (for the fanciest of dinners/events/business meetings) is a restaurant/bar/gym/hotel.  To their credit, the gym isn't IN the dining room, but it's completely open, so you could see people working out as you eat.  I don't get this...I mean, wouldn't the sight of buff bodies make one maybe NOT want to order appetizers/dessert & kill business???

Even worse, not too long ago there was a scene with Abby and Traci in the rooftop bar/swimming pool area getting pedicures. Can you imagine having a random toenail clipping fly right into your drink? GCAC puts extra "dirty" in their dirty martinis

Then Katie will tear the red ribbon off and shove it down Ridge's throat and make a beeline for Bill.

Probably, but I've been hoping she'd hang in there long enough to insist that he give her real engagement ring. That ribbon is just an insult and I can't believe she's put up with it for this long. Ridge really knows how to pick his victims.

I know this is hypocritical since I was just admiring Maya's and Ridge's finely honed trolling skills, and Rick is just playing the game too, but I found Rick doing it to his dad a little distasteful and assy.

This is a good and fair point. I just hope that Caroline and Rick end up with a healthier marriage than Eric and Stephanie.

My eyes!! My eyes!!  Someone please, please me un-see that CarRidge kiss.  It was absolutely wrong on so many levels.

And Ridgepen is so playing Caroline here.  He wants to be CEO/ Head designer/ King of the world. And if it means playing Caroline and breaking up her marriage to get it -- well ... as we say down South  "it's not personal, it's bidness". Heck he might even involve Maya to help.

I'm Team CarRick here because CarRidge is ... um.... just hell to the no.  But looking forward to the drama and fall out it will cause -- as long as it doesn't derail CarRick  permanently.

Spec here, but I think Ridgepen is going to tell Katie what he's doing and I think even judge-y Katie will be appalled -- and this is where she'll turn to $Bill.

Totally agree with the above poster that Eric sees CarRick as a power couple, the successors to SF/ Eric as the team that runs FC.  In this case I understand why Eric feels a stable marriage is that intangible extra the head(s) of FC needs.  CarRick has the added bonus that Caroline as a designer will be an equal partner -- not an "ornamental wife" as Ridgepen said.  Rick knows his wife is talented, and there is no way he's going to take her out and install a new Head designer if Ridgepen is out of FC.

Everyone says Ridgepen is an artist, a loner, tempermental, etc, etc.  I think Eric knows that makes him a great designer, but a tempermental loner is not who should run FC.

  • Love 2

Oh thank Jasus. I thought he was actually falling for her. Their conversation had me hella confused since she was talking about her crush yet he was talking about designing...

By the time he left Brooke for Taylor, the two of them were preteens, and that was a year removed from Ridge covering for Rick in the Grant Chambers shooting.

I just really hated that TIIc tackled the Ridge/Rick thing with all the subtlety of a jackhammer in the middle of one's kitchen at 3 AM when KL was cast as Rick by turning him into a brooding, angry prop against His Royal Highness Sir Ridge. TIIC could've done so much better than they did.

  • Love 2

But it gave us the classic KL as Rick "I OWN YOUR ASS!" And by classic, I  mean hilariously awful.

  • Love 1

^

Yeah, I gotta admit that as much as I hated that incarnation of Rick, that time period from 2006 until the end of the Steffy/Rick abomination have us some true blue ribbon ham and cheese. I'd even go so far to say then to KKL, some of Ronn Moss's best chemistry onscreen WAS with Kyle Lauder. I don't mean that in a incestuous way a la Ridget (KILL IT WITH FIRE) but RM brought his....I won't call it A game. More like his C+ rounded up to a B- game. It was the hilarious ridiculousness I continue to watch this show for; few scenes have come close to the one that made The Soup since HRH Princess Elsa...I mean Hope and the various triangles she's involved in began eating up this show Steven Phelps style.

I have no doubt that Sir Funk-a-Lot will use anything and anyone to get what he feels he's entitled to.  I would be more impressed if Princess Lemonhead was appalled enough to realize that maybe--just maybe--her so-called man might have been using her to punish Brooke.  Old boy sure hasn't been in any hurry to finalize their wedding plans and that stunt where he flew off to Abu Dhabi to interfere in Brooke's life yet again should have been her epiphany.  But, it was apparently more important to show Bill (and Justin) up as a monster who tried to "murder" poor Sir Funk-a-Lot.

I confess Ive been cheating by watching most episodes with mute on and closed captioned because I watch it at night while everyones alseep. BUT sometimes once in a blue moon I watch it during the day. I said all that to say this, "why does Ridge have a gravely voice?" It's really tedious to listen to him because he sounds like such a drama queen.

Not only that, but there never was an explanation of the foreign accent. I think that TK is a poor substitute as Ridge.

Honestly, I think that ship sailed the minute Windsor Harmon was cast.

ETA: Also, I saw this pic and couldn't help but think of this frigging show!

If only. I think they must have decided early on to scrap Ridgepen and Princess Lemonhead as a couple considering all the jewelry designers and jewelry hoopla they've had on the show. It just seems illogical not to have Katie wearing a diamond crusted ribbon-ring that rivals or surpasses Hope's diamond because of the, you know, Ridge factor.

Is Ivy still designing jewelry or after one necklace has she already been reduced to just another Maya, just a general busybody? Maybe she could use Caroline's help, too?

Now I'm just waiting for a foot stomping scene where Princess Lemonhead tearily takes off that damned ribbon. And the viewers cheer.

  • Love 1

Not only that, but there never was an explanation of the foreign accent. I think that TK is a poor substitute as Ridge.

Hell, I'm still waiting for a logical explanation as to why he couldn't bring his raggedy ass home when his mother was dying and finally did die.  After all, according to him, she was the one woman he could always count on.  Other than learning how to read and fly helicopters, we still don't know what he was really doing.  Given his paunchy look, I'm going to assume he was happily indulging in all the culinary treats Paris has to offer.

  • Love 3

Yanno, at this point I'd be willing for the show to do what AMC (or was it GH?) did with Todd Manning and just do an imposter/lookalike story if that's what it takes to get Ronn Moss back in the role. Contrived and stupid, certainly, but no less realistic than Hope's continual attempts at marrying the same guy seven fricking times in three years.

  • Love 3

Loved loved loved today's episode. I've watched it about five times already. Linsey Godfrey is doing a fantastic job in every scene she's been in lately - the one where she was faking to Rick about being upset over the selfie comment was great, and then the scenes w/ Thorsten Kaye, both the one at the start of the episode and the last one, I mean good gravy! TK getting all up in her personal space like he was going to kiss her but then pulling away at the last second, it was perfect. Talk about hook, line, and sinker!

And my man Eric, oh boy - JMC and TK smash every scene they share and these ones are no exception. Have you guys seen the bonus scene on YouTube? I'm willing to forgive Ridge being gravelly-voiced, weirdly-accented, unwashed and out of character for so long as these scenes keep being filmed.

OK, B&B, you managed to confuse me.  So did Ridge & Caroline kiss once & she's fantasizing about doing it again, or did it never happen & Caroline is only fantasizing?

At the beginning of today's episode (the continuation of Friday's last scene), Ridge kisses Caroline for real. At the end of the show, Caroline is daydreaming about Ridge when he interrupts her. So the only real kiss the is the one from the start. It's part of Ridge's plan to get Caroline to change her allegiance from her husband to her mentor/idol/etc. by capitalising on her inappropriate feelings for him - like La di Diva said earlier, I don't think Ridge is actually romantically inclined towards Caroline, but rather sees her as a tool to claim what he thinks is rightfully his.
  • Love 6

Every time I see ugly, old disgusting Ridge leering at Caroline, I want to vomit. He's way too old and distasteful for any beautiful young woman, who's married to a very hunky young man.

I agree that Ridge is too old for her, but TK ugly, old and disgusting?  Not to me.  :-)  Lots of fond memories of his days on the ABC soaps...

Also, isn't Ron Moss even older?  I never saw him as Ridge - or in anything - so I don't know how this would go over with him either.

  • Love 4

Aside from Bridget, Ronn Moss's Ridge had age appropriate relationships.  So I don't see this happening at all with him.

But is it a relationship?  Would the previous Ridge have used her to save his career and get him the company over his brother? IMWTK.

ETA:  TK aside, I don't see Caroline as an unwilling participant (although maybe (maybe) an unwitting victim in this SL).

Loved loved loved today's episode.

I will go further and say I have loved the past three episodes. Outside of the fact that there has been nary a mention of H/L/W, the writing has been sizzling and the dialog snappy. I am so glad they have finally let someone call Ridge out on his Paris sabbatical, and feel it only fitting they let Eric be the one to do it, since Brooke is MIA. Ridge tried to do some revisionist history though when he said something like "Rick takes off to Paris and comes back a hero, I do it  and I am a bad guy". And Eric's comeback "Rick was working in Paris, he didn't take off and disappear", certainly shut Ridge down, and let Ridge know that he has lost substantial ground with Eric, because he sees it as it was; Ridge was pissed at Brooke and made a decision that effected his entire family and FC's and never cared or looked back. I like they are making it about family and responsibility and loyalty and being a grown up.  And, once again, the whole "bio dad" thing came up between them. I don't remember them beating that particular horse to death like they have in the past few weeks; could it be more fodder for Eric to give the CEO spot to Rick?

I also didn't miss Ridge trying to rewrite history with this statement to Caroline " the one and only time a non-designer ran FC's it was a disaster". Really? The one and only time? Has Ridge forgotten that ownership and control of FC's has changed quicker than folks change their drawers? And what a slap in Brooke's face, who as a "non-designer", was FC's most dynamic and creative leader, and is responsible for some of it's wildest successes. I don't know where they are going with this, but I don't see how Ridge could be invested in a relationship with Caroline, when he is still beribboned to Katie. Shouldn't he ask her to cut that mess off before he starts putting moves and macking on his sister-in-law? And I can't let the fact that we have adults talking about "crushes" go unnoticed; I have no understanding why, but when Ridge told Caroline that he had a crush on her too, I found that oddly erotic and sexy. I have felt nothing between TK and HT or KKL, but that hot, sexy steam is about to bust out at all corners between him and LG.

Meanwhile, Katie and Bill are mending their fences with the help of baseball and Jackie Robinson. Oh, my sports nut mind and heart were just about to burst with it all! And for some reason I kept thinking back to that old Abbott & Costello skit about "Who is on first, and What is on second, and Where is on third....". I am loath to admit it, but I enjoyed Bill and Katie interacting this way, and found them cute. I don't think I need to burn any brain cells to figure out where we are going with this, but I hope that Bill won't take the final step and sticks to what he told Brooke before she left. Katie can go explore some of that chemistry she has with Liam, and who knows, if the baby turns out to be Liam's, she could test drive Wyatt.

I was so relieved when I heard Eric correct Ridge and say he wasn't leaving, only that he was going to start living a little, but that he would still be around.

But is it a relationship?  Would the previous Ridge have used her to save his career and get him the company over his brother? IMWTK.

ETA:  TK aside, I don't see Caroline as an unwilling participant (although maybe (maybe) an unwitting victim in this SL).

Ridge was never that cunning.  Not on his own anyway, so no.
